As someone with pretty severe dental anxiety, I was extremely nervous when I arrived at Creekside Endodontics. From the moment I walked in, though, I felt supported. The receptionist was warm and helpful, and Abby (the dental assistant, I believe) was so friendly--she made the transition into the procedure much easier. She even provided a blanket and gave me two stress balls to help calm my nerves, which was incredibly thoughtful. Dr. Zhuk made my root canal the best experience it could possibly be. He took his time, explained everything clearly, and really helped ease my anxiety. I especially appreciated how he honored my requests--like letting me wear my AirPods and making sure I didn't see the needle. Those small acts of kindness made a huge difference for me. Doctor, Lawyer, Indian Chief... All of these people can have major life impact on us all when we need them. Ok...maybe not the Indian Chief:). But I am sure you can relate with the "impact" statement. When you are told you need a root canal and you have never had one, your mind may conjure up all kind of scary thoughts. At least mine did when a loved one was given the diagnosis. Fortunately, a close friend had also recently been told by her dentist she needed a root canal and was referred to Troy Hull, DDS, of Folsom, Creekside Endodontics (He only performs root canals.). She went in for the evaluation and was prepared to have the surgery the same day. However, after the 3D X-ray was performed in the office and read by Dr. Hull, she received some great news. He told her she did not need a root canal! (This is why the 3D imaging is critical in root canal diagnosis.) She was happily relating the experience to me and talking with such confidence and enthusiasm about Dr. Hull and the entire office staff so I decided to check him out on Yelp. Yelp had quite a few reviews from patients treated by Dr. Hull and the other office Endodontist. All 5-Star! I read every review and after the final one I knew this was the guy! Procedure time came and we arrived to a clean, sterile office with masks required whether vaccinated or not. Liked that for sure! Professional, yet friendly, Sheila provided check-in (She also assists Dr. Hull during procedures). She put me at ease immediately. Sheila took the patient back for the 3 D imaging of the tooth in question. And soon after brought me to the procedure area where Dr. Hull was reviewing the X-ray with the patient. Soft spoken and calm, he was explaining in detail and showing on the imagery why the root canal was necessary and what he would be doing during the treatment process. Immediate relief for the patient and me. Anxieties disappeared. I must say, the flat screen TV on the ceiling and personal head phones for patients while undergoing treatment is an awesome distraction too!!! Less than an hour later Dr. Hull is reviewing the follow-up plan to be performed by the regular dentist which included removing the temporary filling and replacing with permanent filling. 100 % confidence in Dr. Hull! Excellent credentials, answers all questions to your satisfaction, incredibly kind and has a high-level preforming office staff. May I also say all charges explained in full before the procedure. Thank you, Gina, for explaining all the insurance mumbo jumbo to me! Appreciate you! This is the kind of "impact" outcome a patient deserves! A successful one! The care was amazing but I have a big problem with the front desk worker, Stephanie. From my first call for the appointment, she seemed rude and short. Then, after receiving care, with my mouth hurting I was met with more attitude while trying to pay. I had an issue with my health savings card not being available yet to swipe, so I asked about how to go about paying the invoice via my health account the only answer she could muster was "idk, I've never done that before," with a lot of attitude and not even a hint of wanting to solve the problem. I then even told her that her attitude was extremely unhelpful especially during a time when I am experiencing pain and needing care. I told her that even if she really didn't know how to help, that a simple attitude change or even saying something like: "is there something I can do to help?" Would go a long way, but she got mad when I suggested she try to be helpful. Unfortunately I'm tied into this office for the care I am in the middle of receiving but I will be letting my referring dentist know not to send me to this office again. I love it when I can give a great review on Yelp, and if I could give Dr. Fife and his team at Creekside 8 stars I would. I was not looking forward to needing a root canal, and psyched myself out for undergoing a difficult procedure. But the minute I got into the care of Dr Fife and his team, I was immediately put at ease. I was given an education on the procedure (which I so much appreciated) and expectations were set clearly. To my utter surprise, the procedure was completely painless (other than a tiny amount of pain getting numbed up). I had to go in to get a root canal today 10/11/22 and as far as root canals go, this was actually a good experience. The staff are very nice and explain everything they are doing and there is a tv on the ceiling to watch while they work on your mouth. I watched a little bit of Seinfeld but decided I probably shouldn't be laughing so I switched to 80's music videos. I was comfortable, at ease and the doctor was a cool guy. Overall a very good experience and if I ever need work done in the future I will be coming here. read more

I had to get a root canal today (12/22/22 - Merry Christmas) per the recommendation of my excellent dentist (Dr. Wadden, Cameron Park Dental). As far as root canals go, this was actually a very good experience. Dr. Hull (w/ assistant) did the root canal after thoroughly numbing my jaw and gums. He explained what they were going to do, turned on the overhead TV for me (Seinfeld), added a head set, and got to work. Before my show had ended they were done. I was a little sore, but not bad at all. Amazing... After the procedure, Dr Hull thoroughly explained what he had done/accomplished, showed me the xrays of my completed root canal, gave me some after-care instructions, and let me know that his staff would be contacting my regular dentist to finalize the capping of my tooth. I was very impressed. Much better than my last root canal. Highly recommended should you need this service. read more

Should be zero stars. Their waiver states the they will not be held responsible for any negative outcomes of their work. When I refused to sign it and went to a different place that I felt comfortable with, this office still charged over $200. I was there about 10 minutes. Ok, if you have insurance. Beware if you don't. Took my husband in for a possible root canal and crown replacement on referral from our dentist. I had to sign an estimate including a $334. Exorbitant consultation fee. We would pay this, even if they couldn't help him. He was in pain, so I agreed. They couldn't help him because the tooth was cracked at the gum line. He needed an extraction, which they do not do. We were there less than 45 min. Yet they charged us $966!! For what?? They said they started the procedure, and thats just what they charge. Unbelievable!! Shouldn't the $ 334. Consult cover that? We still had to pay our dentist $ 250. To pull the tooth. How do these crooks sleep at night? My dentist agreed that the charges were unreasonable, and will not be referring patients to them anymore. read more

I don't leave reviews much, if ever, but there's certain experiences that leave you feeling you need to give one. And, that time is now. I was so impressed with Dr. Fife and how gentle, kind and professional he was today while doing a root canal on my 13 year old daughter. His bed side manner gets an A+ from me, and I feel like I have a high standard when it comes to doctors and their bedside manners. My daughter was never nervous, thanks to his calm demeanor and explanation of what to expect, and she was even shocked at how gentle the "shot" was that he had to give her. I can't thank dr. Fife enough for taking care of my daughter's tooth. One of the roots canal Specialist recommended extracting her permanent tooth without even looking at it. Dr. Fife made sure to check if the tooth was still alive and did a special kind of filling on it. Today we had an appointment at her primary dentist and he mentioned how great of a job dr. Fife did. First off let me start by saying I hate going to the dentist's office, dislike needles and try to avoid going, I get really nervous and will usually ask for the Nitrogenous or something to make me pass out. They made me feel like none of that was needed! I went in yesterday for a toot canal treatment and I didn't think I was going to go through with it because of the pain but with Dr. Hull everything was quick and painless. And I woke up this morning and don't feel a thing, as if it never happened! And have not needed a single pain killer of any kind! It's a little far from my area but was well worth the travel and if I ever need another root canal I will be going back (lets hope I don't thought). Although I hope to never have to see these people again(!), I have to given them five stars. I am a giant big fat chicken when it comes to dental work and these folks treated me with patience and kindness, not like the annoying chicken I'm sure I was. First of all, Dr. Fife and the assistant (Crystal, i think!) were awesome. Very gentle, explained everything, friendly. Secondly, this place has a freaking t.v. on the ceiling! So I was able to kick back with headphones and watch some King of Queens while getting my tooth drilled. :) Now root canals are very close to being the most annoying thing on earth, but these guys made it.... While the office does not specialize in treating children, Dr. Fife did a fantastic job on my daughter's (age 10 at the time) root canal. After months of severe pain, multiple calls to the pediatric dental office, and several other doctor referrals and visits, the pediatric dental office finally referred her to Dr. Fife, who informed us the tooth did not form properly, resulting in an abscess. He also let her know she didn't do anything wrong and the abscess was not her fault. The entire procedure was relatively short and done with local anesthesia. Recovery was fairly quick with little pain and no complications. The truly impressive part is that Dr. Fife and the staff were incredibly kind and gentle with my daughter, who had been through so much. I would definitely recommend Dr. Fife! read more

Ok sometimes we have to write bad reviews but this is not one of them. Getting a root canal is something we all cringe about but I have to give credit where credit is due. From the moment I entered Dr. Fifes clinic to the moment I left he and his staff were very kind and professional. They explained every step of the process of a root canal and made sure to address any concerns I had. There was absolutely no pain during the procedure. As a matter of fact I watched the T.V. Above and had to refrain from laughing during a Friends episode. Even though Dr. Fife has performed thousands of procedures he made me feel like this was going to be his best.
