Wanted to love it. But... brisket was tender but overcooked. No one liked the Mac and cheese, had a strange taste (seasoning) I can't identify. BBQ sauce was ehhh. Prefer Garlic Onions local company out of Ariel. Coleslaw was a little too runny and sour. Sausage was good and ribs were decent. Other sides were not memorable. We stopped in to check this place out the weekend after they opened. The barbecue is great and the service is even better. The staff was responsive in regards to allergy questions and were able to guide us in ordering as well. They have a great selection of local beers on tap and are family friendly. So disappointed. I'll start out with the good; the potato salad and coleslaw was great, both had a bite to them which made them different and really solid choices. The disappointing, I believe BBQ should be able to stand alone without being drown in sauce, these meats cannot. I had the brisket which was crumbly and quite overcooked, no smoke ring, it was equivalent to jerky/well done. The chicken was much the same, quite over cooked and dry. Both meats had minimal flavor. If you want to drown your meat in sauce, then maybe you won't mind, but I'm not going back. read more

Want a taste bud happy dance? Come here. Like a lot of places located in a strip mall, you should not base your judgment of Creekside BBQ on the first glance. You can, however, start evaluating this place when you walk in the door and the lovely aroma of barbecue smoke is evident. I get to this area of Vancouver once in a while, and so I am happy to a found a restaurant that I can count on for good food. I had the two meat twi sides meal - - for meats, I chose the brisket and ribs. The brisket was spot on -- perfect flavor, so tender. The ribs had great taste, but were smaller than expected for St, Louis ribs, and not fall off the bone tender. Still delicious. My sides were the collard greens and the baked beans. There is a little bit of spice to the collared beans, which they warned me about, and which I thoroughly enjoyed. The beans were excellent, also with just a bit of a kick from spice. All in all this was just what I was hoping for, and I expect my next visit will be in the near future. All four choices were excellent. read more

Nice to have a BBQ joint close to home. Brisket portions were a little stingy for the price, but otherwise, everything else was excellent. I've never had slaw with horseradish and green peppers, but it was top shelf. This place provided brisket, pork ribs, and sides for a very important birthday party of 60 people. All the food was so incredibly good. So many people made note to who provided food so they could make sure to visit and eat again. Steven helped me through the process and through my screw ups. I had the combo of pulled pork, rib tips, and brisket. It was all just okay. It was a bit dry with only a moderate smokey flavor. The sauces were pretty average. I had the mac and cheese and greens, which were again, just alright. The restaurant itself is pretty stale without a lot of though put into the décor. It did not have the homey or farm like feel I would expect out of a BBQ joint. It is not bad, but it is far from great. If you would like to compare it to great, try Matt's BBQ in PDX. I think of Matt's as the gold standard for this area. If you compare the two, I think you will agree with everything I have said. read more

If they had corn on the cob and mashed potatoes, it would have been over the top! Half slab was too much. Get the 4 count plate next time.

I totally wanted to love this place. UGH So disappointing. My husband ordered the two meats with two sides . I ordered the chicken with mac and cheese. To be fair, the sides were ok to better than average Not so with any of the meats. The chicken was fatty and the skin inedible . It was obviously a poor quality of chicken. My husband's meat was served cold even though it was supposed to be hot and did not have much flavor. His cole slaw and beans were ok. My mac and cheese was good. I dont feel like this place is managed well either. Overheard the man who looked to be the boss saying that his fryer had been out for 8 days. Did not hear of any plans to repair it. This barbecue restaurant in Salmon Creek, Washington is fabulous!! We ate there today and had its brisket and pulled pork! I was transported back to the South with its selection of different sauces, from mild, to vinegar, to hot and spicy. All of it was just delicious. The horseradish and vinegar in the coleslaw were overpowering and surprising. Perhaps this is a particular style, not the sweeter type that we're used to. Finally a BBQ place close by!! Last night I tried the 2 meat plate with chicken and tri tip, and my wife had the pulled pork sandwich, and both were excellent!! The 3 sides we tried were all delicious, as the mac & cheese was creamy, the beans had a kick to them, and the coleslaw was very good. We decided to try this restaurant out last night (Thursday). We arrived around 6:30 and they were busy, but not packed. They had "hella ran out" of brisket already. I got a giggle out of that. We ordered three dinners so ended up with pulled pork, tri-tip, rib ends, chicken, and a hot link. Sides were mac & cheese, beans, coleslaw, and potato salad. They don't have children sized anything. Food was OK, but not great. Hubby said the hot link was super spicy. Cost was a little above average for location and size of establishment. While we were there they ran out of tri-tip, hot links, and sweet tea; so go early to have the best selection. We didn't finish all the food, but they had to-go boxes so yay for leftovers. Overall, it's not a place I would go to again. Not horrible food, just so-so. Cashier was a little surly, but also nice. The rest of the staff came across as very nice. I re-heated the chicken for lunch. It was bland, once you took the skin off. read more

We went after reading about this place in the Columbian and we're glad we did. We're always on the lookout for good bbq and we finally found it. Granted there is one in Vancouver but the parking there is nonexistent so...we're sticking with Creekside! My husband loves the hot links and we both like the brisket, which they will gladly serve extra lean if you so desire. We were so excited that a BBQ place had opened in Salmon Creek. Our excitement didn't last long unfortunately. The portions were fairly small - I've seen worse, but still pretty small for the money. Well start with the positives. I ordered a half rack of ribs. The flavor was good and the meat came right off of the bone. The restaurant was clean. Now the negatives. The ribs were $17.95 and didn't come with any sides. I didn't notice that on the menu board and the cashier never asked me if i wanted any. I received a small tray of 6 ribs. They were very overcooked. The meat was tough and chewy. I couldn't eat most of the end rib because the eat was so tough. There also wasn't a lot of meat on each one. I may try it again and order something else but 18 for small, tough ribs is not worth it. read more

Awesome new place. The owners and employees went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed and were satisfied. We had the brisket, pulled pork, beans, slaw, and a corn muffin. Also pulled pork alot of fatty pieces. The cornbread muffin was dry. The tri tip was good and probably the best value. The brisket was good just alot of fat. The rib tips were also good. Thank you Creekside BBQ for settling in Vancouver. I visit as often as I can. I do have one problem with this place. Which BBQ sauce do I like best? Decisions decisions. I've tried the ribs, brisket, rib ends, chicken, and all of the sides except for the fries. I love this place so much I have hired them to cater an upcoming event.
