Keep looking if you are looking for true Texas BBQ. It's expensive and mediocre. The location is super small so seating is VERY limited especially if there are more than 2 people in your group. The way it is set up means if there is a line of any kind there are people standing, single file, inches from your table and food while waiting. If you come here you need to be OK with possibly having to get your food to go because seating is so limited and if you are a party of 5 or more you are going to have to eat outside at a long uncovered picnic table if it is available. Our family tried a wide variety of meats, a sandwich, and several sides - everything was okay except the coleslaw which was chunky, inedible, and nasty. Out of all the various sauces offered only one was really good and one other was decent. The cornbread was dry. The mac & cheese was spicy which they do not tell you and it is for sure not "creamy" as described on the menu so we had to shuffle food to accommodate our youngest who only got the mac and cheese - which brings me to.....They do not have kid's meals in any form and were rude when I asked if they had anything that would work for a kid's meal. All in all, we spent over $100 for dinner which left us wishing we had made a better choice for dinner. read more

I am genuinely curious how this place is rated as well as it is. I suspect they automatically get points for being a BBQ place in this area, but pretty much everything I ate was disgusting, with the exception of the potato salad. I ordered the "TWO AND TWO" on Doordash and an extra side and banana pudding for dessert. I ended up splitting everything with my husband. We tried the following items: -Pulled pork (tender but tasted so smokey it was acrid) -Brisket (same as above, tons of fat, barely edible) -Mac and cheese (weird sauce, creamy but unappealing flavor) -Beans (also extremely smokey and full of weird, tough meat chunks) -Potato salad (actually enjoyed this, very tasty) -Corn muffin (flavor was awesome, but it was so dry it crumbled apart) -Pickles (don't know if they made these in house or not, but they tasted like decent sweet pickles) And FINALLY, the biggest surprise and disappointment of them all...the banana pudding. I literally said to my husband, "How could they screw this up"? Turns out, it's completely possible. Both the pudding itself and the whipped cream on top of it tasted like they'd been left in the open in a fridge with other items and "inherited" the gross flavors. Somehow the whipped cream didn't taste like whipped cream, and the pudding didn't taste like pudding. Disgusting. Also encountered an unripe banana piece. How are you going to put an UNRIPE banana in banana pudding? That's such an easy mistake to avoid. Bizarre. Found this hidden gem by accident and glad we did. Very clean inviting atmosphere, employees were friendly, engaging and most of all patient ascwe weren't sure what we wanted. I got the Tri-Mountain plate 3 meats and 2 sides. Price point was more then fair I got Brisket moist w/great flavor, Pork and Rib Tips all the meat was great and sides Horseradish infused coleslaw was phenomenal along with sweet potatoes. 4 different BBQ Sauces to choose from. We decided to try our local BBQ place Creekside and were very disappointed. Ordered Brisket Sandwich and Tri Tip Sandwich. The meat in both of them was really dry and overcooked, the Tri Tip had so much garlic in it that it was terrible. Brisket had so much BBQ sauce that it was ruined by it. Wife felt sick when we left restaurant and later threw up her over garlic sandwich. Creekside has long ways to go to compare with Busters BBQ in Gresham, they know how its done. It was decent especially considering the lack of great restaurants in Vancouver. The ribs, mac n cheese, and Kansas sweet sauce were the highlights of our meal. Portions are on the small side but I've found that's the norm in the Salmon Creek area. The chicken and pulled pork were surprisingly moist but not as flavorful as I hoped. I have had a lot of bbq hard to complain when it's done right. The tri tip here has ruined my allegiance to brisket it's so good. I drive there whenever near to get it so good I can easily put away a pound just driving from Vancouver to Hillsboro. Just had the pulled pork it melted in my mouth so good. My wife and kids love the Mac and cheese and banana pudding. They finish it every time no leftovers. Makes me want to live in Vancouver. Absolutely incredible BBQ. I ordered the meal that had brisket and 2 sides, I got fries and coleslaw. Brisket was smoky, tender, flavorful. I might almost describe as divine. This may have been some of the best brisket I've ever had. The fries were great, and the coleslaw was really good too, it had some extra vegetables in it. I also had their banana pudding, which was quite good (pudding, banana chunks, whipped cream, and wafer cookies). I grabbed some of their sweet and red BBQ sauce. Again, fantastic. I suppose the small slight, the cornbread was a little on the dry side. But everything else was so good it didn't detract from the meal at all. We did have to sub out a sausage link for some pulled pork (their online ordering system was having some issues), but the lead guy Steve was apologetic and super friendly. And of course the pulled pork was so good, the link was forgotten. I'm excited that there's a really good BBQ place so near by. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for BBQ. read more

Fork tender brisket, brisket sandwich (the Dallas), pulled pork. Beans, greens, potato salad. As we tasted each we commented on how GREAT it tasted (seasoning, texture). Went opening night and glad we did! Great bbq, we had the brisket sandwich, tri tip, and hot links. Our sides were Mac and cheese, beans and collards. Everything was delicious. The brisket was really good. I would say the beans were almost too Smokey but still good. The standout is the bbq sauces, love the Texas red, but really love the mustard one. I've eaten here several times over the last year or so. It's the closes BBQ to our house. I don't know if it's bad luck or what, but most of the time the meat is dried out, and lacks flavor. I've personally haven't had a good meal here yet. It seems some people really enjoy it, so I'm sure I'll try again at some point. Next time I try it, I'll take pictures and update my review. Ate here for the first time today on a friend's recommendation and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the 3 meat, 2 sides combo to be able to sample a range of offerings. The brisket was fork tender with a well developed and tasty bark, excellent! The chicken was smoky and juicy, excellent! The ribs were tender and juicy too. The cole slaw was creamy and tasty, not runny. The collard greens were wonderful too. The cornbread muffin was nice and corny, not cakey and sweet but the honey butter added just the right touch of sweetness. We were looking for some BBQ and stumbled across this place and were pleasantly surprised! The staff was welcoming and friendly and the portions and food were perfect. They offer six of their different sauces but the meat doesn't need it, as it was really flavorful. I would recommend the brisket or St Louis ribs but everything was great. read more

Stopped in for lunch. The barbecue smell draws you in from the parking lot, you can smell the spiciness as soon as you get out of your car. I ordered the Dallas, which is a brisket sandwich. Good portions, good smoke key flavor, and just the right amount of pickles on top. For the side dish I chose their potato salad, which I don't usually do because it's typically bland. Dirty restaurant with very poor service and subpar food. Don't waste your money. I literally spoke to the owner, Stephen, and he told me to pound sand. Excuses and no effort to make things right. Every time I have been in the place I have observed Stephen being rude to his staff and customers. This was my first time speaking to him. If the food was good maybe I could ignore the bad attitude but it's expensive and not very good. Most things I had tried over the half dozen times eating here taste down right terrible (awful) and the rest taste merely meh. I thought it might get better as time went by and they worked out the kinks of being new but it has only gotten worse. Also, if the front of the house is dirty, what is the back like??? With the bad service, rude owner, bad to mediocre food, and unkept cleanliness I will not be returning. This is a tight community. I'm sure the word of mouth will spread. Sad because we need good places to eat in North Salmon Creek. I love bbq, but Creekside BBQ is just a waste of money. read more
