This is a solid lunch stop. It was just one person working when we came in so he was multi-tasking like crazy. We put our order in at the counter and had our sandwiches about 7 minutes later. Pretty quick for all the work he had to do. I had the Santa Maria. It was a nice tri-tip with garlic butter. The variety of sauces at the table helped add a personalized flavor. Food was all right. Pickles on the Memphis were tasty and the overall food was decent, except for the fries. There was so much salt on the fries that I regretted ordering it. The pulled pork in the sandwich was also good and needed more sauce, which I could have self-served with the sauce squeeze bottles at the counter. Came in for my favorite Dallas brisket sandwich and it did not disappoint. It was really good. Big thick four inch strips of brisket on a bun with pickles and purple onions. You have 4 different voices of bbq sauce to put on it. I ate it so fast that I barely had time to eat my baked beans. The beans were very hot and tasty with a good spice too it and kind spicy. The beans could have been cooked a little bit longer as they were still kind of hard. But overall this place is my go to bbq place. I think their brisket sandwiches are a couple dollars less than that other bbq joint in downtown Vancouver. read more

I stopped into Creekside Barbecue in Salmon Creek and it was excellent! I'll admit, when I first saw that my meal came to about $29 for one person, I hesitated--but wow, was I surprised by how much food that actually included. It easily could've fed two or three people! The place itself is super cute and immediately smelled heavenly the second I walked in. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service had that genuine small-town kindness that makes you want to come back. I ordered the pulled pork with two sides, and it was delicious. The pork was tender, juicy, and flavorful on its own, but the different barbecue sauces really made it fun to personalize each bite. I especially loved the Kansas City smoky barbecue sauce--it had that perfect balance of sweet and smoky. The potato salad was good, though I'll admit I still prefer my mama's version , and the cornbread was tasty, especially for restaurant cornbread (though I'm a little partial to my own!). For the amount of food and the quality, it was absolutely worth it. Next time, I think I'll grab a pound of the pulled pork to take home and make my own sides. I even joined their loyalty club while I was there--always a nice bonus! I am new to this area, and was happy to find a decent BBQ place nearby. I have been here twice to date.... had rib tips the first time, they were ok... 3 of 5 stars. Second visit I got a half pound of Smoked Brisket. It was pretty good... not overly fatty, and smoky and tender - 4 of 5 stars. Service was excellent both times. Finally decided to try this place today. It's been on my Yelp must-try list for awhile. We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. Not too busy when we arrived around noon, but people started rolling in right after we ordered our food. It's located in a strip mall near Salmon Creek area. There's plenty of parking available. Walked in and was greeted by a young lady behind the counter. She was friendly and helpful. We ordered the Tri-Mountain Plate which includes 3 meats, 2 sides and a cornbread muffin for $26.95. We were so happy we shared it because it was A LOT of food. We picked the brisket, pulled pork and pork rib tips for our meat choices. We picked mac and cheese and collard greens for our sides. My husband also wanted to try a sausage link, so we added one for $4.95 and an extra cornbread muffin for $1.50. It all came to about $44, which included a pint of beer. It was very reasonable given the amount of food. Our meats were good. Not sure they were actually smoked that day, but we were satisfied with our choices overall. The pulled pork was a bit dry, but their red sauce helped with that. The mac and cheese was delicious! We would definitely order that again. The spices were perfect, and that hint of worcestershire sauce was bomb. The cornbread muffin had a honey butter sweetness to it, and it was moist. My husband enjoyed the collard greens, but they were too spicy for my liking. Overall friendly service, clean inside and reasonably priced. We'll definitely be back. I've tried dozens of bbq joints around the country and this one stands out for the great flavors. I ordered the two meats/two sides dinner, choosing brisket and pulled pork with potato salad and coleslaw. The meats were great, the coleslaw was fantastic, but the potato salad was uninspiring. Brisket had a great bark on it but was very moist inside with an excellent smoky flavor. The pulled pork was amazing as well but could have had a little more care getting the chunks of fat out. They had plenty of sauces available--they bring you a basket with four different flavors in extra large bottles. Apply liberally! I loved the horseradish in their coleslaw. I've never seen that done before but it's my new favorite. I'll definitely be trying to replicate that at home. My biggest disappointment was the potato salad. It seemed like it was just scooped from a Reser's tub. Maybe not, I don't know if they make it in house, but that's what it reminded me of. I'm giving four stars instead of five because despite being the only person in the restaurant, it wasn't very clean. I had to wipe down my table and there was a big chunk of brisket lying on the floor. I was also pretty unimpressed with the constant foul language coming from the kitchen staff. I realize I'm in the minority on this but I still believe in keeping the atmosphere of a public place professional and family appropriate. So, all in all, top-notch food with one star off for cleanliness and atmosphere. I would definitely pick up here again but might not eat in, depending on the situation. Delicious BBQ! We ordered the ribs, brisket, and chicken. The ribs came right off of the bone. Delicious smoky flavor. The chicken meat was flavorful and moist. The skin was crisp. The brisket was not as moist as the ribs and chicken. But with the four types of sauces, the brisket tasted good. The corn bread was on the dry side. The baked beans were tender and seasoned well. The potato salad had more mustard than I'm accustomed to. But still wonderful. The banana pudding was tasty. Definitely order it! Service was good. Indoor seating. Casual atmosphere. I prefer moist, tender bbq and Creekside delivers. I had the 2 meat plate of brisket and tri tips and it was perfect. Loved the Kansas City Sweet bbq sauce and husband liked the Texas red. There were some other choices in sauces but those were the ones we tried. The Apple cider sweet potato's were just gross. Picture sweet potatoes cubes in 1" pieces and boiled in ACV. Time for an update, as we rectify tried their ribs, and they were tender and delicious as well. Also, you can ask for their cornbread muffins to be served "dry" as opposed to being completely dipped in melted butter as they normally serve them. We preferred the "dry" option for to-go since we're not eating them right away and it's less messy, and we just used our own butter at home to butter them the usual way. Upon arrival, I noted the unassuming strip mall vibe, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I've had lots of good meals in such places. Exiting the car, I smelled the wood smoke immediately. There is really no smell like it when one is hungry. We ordered at the counter. The staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered the Tri-Mountain Plate, which has three meats and two sides. We got the brisket, pulled pork and chicken, along with some mac and cheese, and a horseradish coleslaw. We also got the sweet tea. At the table was a basket of four different sauces. Things were looking up. The meal arrived shortly. The portions were good, and presented well. The brisket was the star of the show. It was tender, juicy, and I could cut it with my fork. The chicken and pork, however, didn't quite live up to the brisket's example. The chicken was a little dry. It had a decently smoky taste, but needed something to counteract the dryness. The pulled pork was also a little dry. It was missing the smoky, caramelized flavor that good pulled porks have. It also needed a good sauce to give it a little zing. Which brings us to the sauces. The sauces were disappointing. I did not find the flavors complimentary to the meats. They called attention to themselves, instead of playing nice. The sauces are as follows: Texas Red. Too sweet. Bright but overpowering flavor. Kansas City Sweet - opposite problem. Timidity flavored, but still odd on the palate. North Carolina Vinegar was the best of the lot. It was not too vinegary, and had some interesting flavors to back it up. It stole the show on the brisket. That said, it clashed with the other meats. South Carolina Mustard - not bad on the pulled pork. Better when mixed with the vinegar sauce. The sides: Horseradish coleslaw - fresh and crisp. Great flavor. Mac and cheese - a Velveeta-like flavor with sad bread crumbs on top. Cornbread muffin - acceptable. Unusual, but good texture. Overall, it was average bbq. I was hoping it would be one of those diamond in the rough places that put out wow food from unlikely places. It was not to be this time. It was not a bad meal, so you wouldn't be wrong going there if you crave BBQ. Just don't expect to have your socks knocked off. read more

I do a lot of BBQ at home so the wife and I are pretty picky when it comes to bbq. Creekside is a home run for bbq. Brisket was cut from the flat and dry as flats normally are. Plenty of sauces at the table to fix that. Cooked perfectly. Rib tips super tender and sauced perfectly. Pulled pork nice and tender. Loved the potato salad and cornbread. Always looking for great BBQ places. Most people love there own BBQ but in the event it's BBQ day for you a good to place is always needed. Tried a new spot for us off of exit 34 on I5 called Creekside BBQ. Located in strip and pretty easy to find. The vibe was pretty chilled there was only one other customer picking up and order when we arrived. The crew was behind the counter hard at work preparing for Q. The menu is straight forward offering a range of a la carte options or plate combos. We order the "one and two." That is one meat and two sides including cornbread. I ordered the spare ribs, beans and Mac and cheese. Let's start with the ribs. The ribs were a little on the small side and slightly over cooked well seasoned and delicious. They give you the option of choosing between a couple of different sauces that you pump from a Station into a little container to go. One is a little sweeter. The other is a little spicy. We chose the sweeter barbecue sauce. This sauce really made the rib. My ultimate test is can I eat a rib without sauce? These ribs enjoyed a little sauce which made the bite much better. The beans were good but reminded me a beans in a chili. The Mac and Cheese was good similar to the taste of the Chik fi le Mac and Cheese. I ended my meal with a blueberry cobbler. Pretty tasty with a good ration of blueberries to crust. Apparent their cobblers are seasonal. That will be fun. All in all it was a good meal and I would give them a try again. The Clark County BBQ scene is growing by the day. You've got to have something pretty special to stand out in the crowd we have now. Getting around to all these places is a tough job, but I'm here for you. Creekside BBQ is a contender for the upper tier of good places to get your barbecue on. The meat has always been moist and well smoked without being over-smoked. I have tried every meat option but the hot link so far. Kudos to the ribs, brisket and smoked chicken. The tri-tip was very good, the garlic butter makes it. The sides are good. I wish I could say they were home-runs. For me, the beans, cole slaw, red potato salad are the standouts of the group. Honorable mention to the corn bread, dipped in butter. The others are good, nothing too special. But let's talk sauces. Some places say they are Texas barbecue and only offer red sauces, some are Carolina, so you get mustard and/or vinegar-based sauces. Creekside gives you a variety of sauces from all over the American BBQ map, at all different spice levels. It really is one of things that lifts Creekside above many other places. It is a cozy place, meaning the seating is close together and there is not much of it. There are some benches outside when the weather gods allow, two are covered, two are not. Soda's are Coke products, the tea is good. The restrooms have been clean when I have needed one. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their craft. Was in town for a training/class. Ran out to grab lunch (to go) and instead of my usual spot when in this area (Bruchi's) I decided to give this place a shot. I'll start with the good. The service. The guy taking orders and plating the food was nice and awesome. The brisket was decent, not sure if it's normal but I got all cuts from the point, which I always like. Not much of a smoke ring, but had some smoky flavor. I would have liked it a lot more if it wasn't covered in pickles and pickled onions. It lists it on the menu, most places it would come in a container on the side, but here it was piled on top of the brisket (ok if you like that stuff, but I wanted to taste the meat, not pickles) I got the meat and 2 sides, chose the beans and Mac and cheese. Both of them have a similar flavor profile, a little too sweet for my taste, maybe some people like that but from a bbq place I expect some different flavor profiles. Price seemed reasonable for the amount of food received, but I won't be eating most of it. We had a delicious meal here! We all got brisket except one and he got chicken. They have but bottles of several kinds of bbq sauce on the tables to try. The sides are really good too. The coleslaw jar red & green bell peppers and horseradish that was super good. Mac & cheese was a little gluggy in texture but the flavor was good. The cornbread muffin was nice. The chicken was excellent, according to my brother-in-law who ordered it. My husband got the potato salad but he thought it was too vinegary. I pick the restaurants for my family because I think I've got a knack for knowing the good ones. Something beyond the high rankings of this place spoke to me and it was the balls of the establishment putting their bad reviews on the wall in the bathroom. My gut told me this was going to be good and I was right. Do you ever have a meal where you delay taking a drink when parched to savor the flavors of the food? That's what happened to me here.
