I've been here a few times and have had a good experience. The last time, unfortunately, will most likely be my last. I had a blast painting my pretty little piece, and forgot all about it. I came in to retrieve my forgotten piece, with much excitement, and scoured the shelves. Twice. Three times. When one of the staff finally came to ask what I was doing/looking for, I asked if they stored pieces anywhere else. She said no. She asked me how long it had been and I said a few months. She tartly told me that it was most likely thrown away because it had been longer than 30 days. Creatively Yours is in the CrossRoads Mall, which is in out-of-the-way Bellevue, in a forgotten Mall with empty shops and mostly food court. I am not often out that way. I was pretty bummed. It was a cute piece and they don't give you a refund or anything if your piece is taken by somebody else or thrown away. I wish they had a better system for checking on forgetful, busy people, like myself. I realize that the situation was partly my fault. But I think, since I don't live near Creatively Yours, I will go to places closer to where I live. read more

BEWARE OF YOUR PAINTED PIECES!!! At first everything seems fine: you paint for an hour or two, then you give your piece to be fired and finished, and then.... Woooooosh! Gone! They have different areas for finished pieces, including one where anyone could just grab it and go, which is what I suspect happened to mine. There is no reference check system in place to ensure what is taken is indeed yours. You will not get much of an apology either, just: "it happens sometimes". Needless to say, it is very disappointing when you spend hours and make it well in advance for an upcoming trip where you will he giving the piece as a present. Yes, things do happen. The lack of sympathy (especially by the owner) however, just floored me. If you just want some "kill-the-time" activity, this studio is not bad, personally, I will NEVER be back. read more

I like this place. It's located inside crossroads mall and is quite a large space compared to various other paint your own ceramic places. You pick a piece to paint and the prices seemed to range between the cheaper end (less than $10) to the higher end $30+. I chose a wine goblet/glass for around $20. So, you pick a piece and then sit down and paint. There's no charge for the time you spend so you could be in there all day if needed. They have sponges, stencils, and a variety of diff colors that are handily coded by numbers. They also have pen point paint that comes in handy when you want to paint something detailed. The staff was helpful in ideas and suggestions for what we were trying to create. Fun experience, and I can't wait to see what my wine glass looks like :-) read more

A party in a place where you can create your own gifts while enjoying the company of friends is one of those once in a lifetime happenings. We had a blast and it was easy as pie. The staff was helpful and friendly and didn't mind giving suggestions on how to best decorate our chosen ceramic piece. I recommend it for younger folks too. read more

This place is so much fun! The staff is incredibly helpful and provides assistance and ideas to make your work of art just that much more amazing. I had so much fun! The staff is very helpful and lets you do your thing. They were very available for any questions I had. I went on a Monday night, and only 2 other groups came in during the 2 hours I was there. I decorated a coffee mug for my boyfriend, and it turned out perfect! The price is competitive with other paint your own ceramics places, but I think the selection of items is better here. If you are not familiar with the Bellevue Crossroads or the area, I recommend following the directions you get if you Google map or MapQuest. Park in front of Pier 1 and Dress Barn closest to 8th Street. Enter the Crossroads there, and it will be straight ahead on the right. read more

My husband made me a mug but didn't completely paint the inside. My tea and coffee were leaving stains each time. When I called, they were super friendly, asked me to bring it back so it can be fired in the kiln again. I just used my re-fired mug, and it's perfect. Great customer service! read more

I repeatedly asked for help; they ignored me. I went back to finish the project and asked for consultation again; they ignored me. My very basic project came out terribly because no one bothered to note that more than three coats wouldn't destroy my project, meanwhile telling me to put on three coats of paint and warning against more than three. Three coats wasn't enough. My project is ugly. When I picked it up the person noted I needed to do more than three for that particular color (green). Hard pass on this place. read more

Fun for everyone!! Great place to take the kids, date night, girl night, or to make something for a friend/family! I've been here several times and always had a great time with everyone. Like any other place, you walk in and pick the piece you want to paint and sit down and start making your one of a kind piece! If you're not creative like me, this will definitely open your mind to be more creative in ways you didn't know! Employees are friendly and willing to help if needed. There is 5 day turnover period so you piece will be done 5 days after you paint it. They have a monthly calendar that have deals and promotion so look into that and plan a day for creativity! I had a coffee and donuts party there that included both children and adults and they were very accommodating. I have been to other ceramics stores in the area, and this one is by far the most spacious. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I've been doing ceramics for 11 years now, mostly wheel-thrown high fire pieces, so this is a bit of a change for me. The gals here are super-friendly though, and they have a wide range of bisqueware for you to choose from at reasonable prices. I cringe when I hear people talk about "painting" pottery -- you GLAZE pottery, you PAINT a house -- but this is not an arts center where people are going to be snobby about that kind of thing. :-) Instead, it's reasonably inexpensive fun. Their selection of glazes is good and they use Duncan, which means you're going to get great results. The brushes are adequate, and they have lots of stencils, stamps, and great-looking examples if you need inspiration. You return five days later to pick up your fired pieces. While kids might have a hard time being patient, they love seeing their work when it's done, and it's a good way to help them learn to wait. Some hints: 1. Put your name on the back of your piece first with grease pencil or the paint pens. 2. Apply many (3-4) thin coats of glaze if you want deep, saturated colors. Use 1-2 coats for a more watercolor-like effect. 3. Use a clean dry or just-damp brush for each glaze color. 4. Write down the glaze color numbers that you use if you think you'd ever like to make a matching piece for the one you're doing now. There's no chance you'll remember 74 red and 102 blue in three months! :-) 5. Write down the shapes and general design of the pieces you do, especially if you do more than one per person. It's easy to forget in five days! (For example, "big plate with yellow star, small bowl with blue handprint"). 6. If it seems expensive to you, remember that the price includes all the glaze you need and the firing of your piece. You can make it cheaper by coming on a Friday night between 6-9 pm, when everything is 20% off. 7. Most of all, don't ruin the kids' fun by being too much of a perfectionist. Start little kids especially off with simple, cheap pieces like big tiles, tell them that mixing colors doesn't work very well, and let them have at it! If they end up with mud-brown swirls, well, maybe it will be beautiful anyway. :-) Have fun! My plate came out so well that it got put in the display window. My husband and I went on a date here. Even though we drove from Tacoma to Bellevue to paint it was worth it. We went on 2/13 and the young lady working there was very helpful and encouraging since this was our first attempt at something like this. We painted a vase and a cookie jar. The total was $70 for both. By the time we bought all the materials needed from the craft store it would have been more than that. We had to drive back 5days later to pick up our pieces but they turned out great. Thank goodness this place is so far away because I would be addicted. I wish I could give zero or negative stars. I brought my 5 year old daughter in to pick and paint a project on her birthday. While she was choosing, she accidentally knocked one of the ceramic objects on the floor and it broke. She started crying and the employee came over and said they understood when this happened. I was grateful and apologized. He then said they only expect me to pay for half of it...$16 (plus tax). I was so surprised and explained it was an accident (as my daughter continued bawling) but he said it was a common policy and would not back down. Poor business model, as we had several items picked out to paint which would have cost much more. We paid and ended up leaving. If your child drops her ice cream cone, usually the company offers another and does not ask you to pay half for a replacement. I hope this is not the memory that sticks for my poor girl's birthday. read more

This is the first time I've been to a place where you paint ceramics. It left me hoping that other places are better. Cheaper, friendlier, and more careful. All but one of the employees I encountered seemed to be taking out their discontent with life on me. We celebrated birthday party for my 6 year daughter. Staff is rude to young kids, Space is extremely limited and staff do not help at all. We had hard time in placing cake as they dont have separate room and they dont remove colors from the table. We had to put food like Pizza and Juice on Chair and had to give ourselves to every kid and their parents. Staff was so rude that they denied even giving place where i can keep my SLR camera safely while I help giving pizza to standing guest. Eventually, they offered 25% gift card but they already ruined our birthday party so i denied and dont advised you to experience the same. read more

We have been here twice now. We enjoy the Fri night 20% off deal. You can hear the live music in Crossroads while painting, so it has been enjoyable date night and family night. The selection is varied and you pay for the pieces. No per hour paint fee like some places. The staff is very nice and helpful. If you ask, they have lots of neat techniques you can learn. They have templates for Seahawks! Last week I even put a paint on something that looks like snow/foam. You can really get creative here and the staff want to help you achieve it. In our visits here we have seen some amazing artists working. Very detailed painting. I will tell you though, it is hot in here. I have seen fans, but they don't blow them on you, more of an upward fan. So it is HOT. Layer your clothing. I was down to a tank top my first visit! Last week I brought a cold drink with me. Your work is ready 5 days later after 3pm. The shelves are organized by type, so it takes some work to find all your pieces. And I did hear people talking near me about pieces being lost. So come back soon to pick up. We have enjoyed this experience multiple times and it has always been enjoyable. read more

Always fun to come here but parents have no control of their kids and when trying to do detail painting, it sucks! Try coming when no kids are around. I figure if they don't want to control their kids I won't control my swearing. Every bump to the table l yelled F@*% out loud. The staff seems to have no control of things and will just say they will inform management. The bathroom is use by everyone in the mall and smells of crap. Don't get me wrong as the staff is very helpful but it's like going to a Chucky Cheese. No control of kids and staff will not ask the parents to take screaming kids out or let them know as they explain things to watch the bumping of the tables. read more

I love going to this place. Co-workers and I try to go at least once a month. It's a lot of fun and the staff is very helpful. They have a lot of things to paint. You can paint anything from a magnet up to a mirror or bird bath. The prices are decent and there is always something there for everyone's budget. I have been to this studio a few times and the last time I visited was with my husband and 21 month old son. We painted some platters for Christmas gifts and it went pretty smoothly. Although I do think it's a bit pricey for a personalized gift and the fun my son had painting, it's worth it to us. We will be back before Christmas to do some more and are more prepared to "get the job done faster" with a toddler this time. Or at least try! I do like their selection of items to paint and they often have good sales and promos to get some discounts on what you may be looking for. The staff was quiet at first but when I asked for some help one woman was very helpful and fun with some sayings for Grandma's platter! I know both Grandmas will LOVE them!! This place was ok. They accidentally gave my daughter's pottery to someone else. It was her special birthday pottery to commemorate her birthday. The only way they compensated was by giving her a new piece of pottery to start from scratch, but given that we live 45 min away it was not worth our trip to come back again to paint and to turn around come back again to retrieve. They would not not refund monetarily. Birthday memory gone. read more

This place is so much fun! It's usually pretty empty, but the day after New Year's was quite busy. There's quite a selection of pieces to paint, ranging from seasonal items, like Christmas ornaments, to figurines to plates. I would say the average prices are around 20 dollars. It's really fun to just let your creative juices flow while spending time with loved ones. I would even go so far to say that it's better than dinner and movie! It truly is worth the price. You pay after you finish painting your piece, which is available for pickup later. There are a ton of paints available to you, as well as stencils, inspiration books, glaze pens and other cool patterns/textures. I had to ask one of the employees for help and they were absolutely great and professional. I love this place and will definitely be back. read more

I love this place everyone there is so helpful and so nice! One of the employees there, Peggy, was extremely helpful in explaining the both the bubble and the tracing paper techniques amongst others. I enjoyed how they had a wide selection of pieces and glazes for customers to use and create.
