We were interested in changing them out for motorized shades and Rommel came out to our home for the consultation. He explained that the original cellular shades could not be retro-fitted to be motorized, so we would have to buy new sets. No problem - and totally understandable! Rommel was very patient and thorough with his explanation of why and working with us to understand our project. We ended up purchasing four sets of shades for our primary bedroom to cover two large windows with a two-layer, motorized system of black-out and light-filtering cellular shades. Rommel's installation team (Rene and Martin) were amazing - super fast, diligent, and competent! They also moved the original set of cellular shades we had to our living room, which meant we didn't lose them after all! They also updated the cord pulls for the original set, which we appreciated. The motorized shades have been such a wonderful addition to our master bedroom! We love the total darkness it provides for sleeping in -- and the automatic scheduler to lower / raise the shades as well has proven very convenient. We are VERY pleased with this upgrade. Overall, JMK Shutters offers a comprehensive, customer-first experience. Their team is knowledgeable, competent, and on-time. We have only good things to say about Rommel, Rene, and Martin and would consider them again for future work.

Based on our needs she made recommendations which we concurred with. Measurements were taken and an order was placed. We paid 1/2 advance. Over the next two month projected timeframe we received email updates. When our product arrived to the warehouse we received a call for installation date. She was efficient in answering all of our questions and taking a look our out windows to help narrow down exactly what we want. Previously before our remodel we had shutters, but I had some concerns about bringing that back into our home. I was very interested in the roller shades and she was able to show me how that would work for our home. We ended up picking a color and tried that would work for our home. Plus we did drapes for one of our bedrooms. Michael came and did our installation and he was great! Installation took a couple hours, which its to be expected considering we had about 16 windows. But now that everything is done. it looks amazing! We chose some shades that allow light to filter to through during the daytime and still allows privacy at night. I had plantation shutters installed throughout my entire home several years ago. I spent thousands…read moreof dollars I believe it was 15,000 or so. One of my louvres broke on one of the shutters so I called Windowology and I spoke with Joe who asked me to send him photos of the broken louvre. We discovered that it had just fallen out because one of the pins holding it in place was broken. Easy fix! Joe said he would be happy to send somebody over but I needed to pay in advance $300 before I could set up an appointment and that would be the cost of the repair. I went on Amazon and bought the pins myself for $7.99 and I put the pin in and I popped the louvre in easily. It just made me so disappointed that a company would treat a customer that way and charge $300 for something that could be fixed for $7.99. A better customer service would've been to let me know about these pins and tell me how to fix it myself and not try to extort money from me after being a good customer. I forgot to mention that after I emailed Joe the photos of my problem he never called me back. I waited three days and had to contact him myself. I definitely would not recommend this company. To make it even more frustrating they are a mile from my home. If I was the owner of the company, I would've stopped by with the seven dollar pin and fixed it myself.
