Kristin helped me get my life back. I have a nice house, but it was such a disorganized mess that it was making me miserable. I had tried to get organized, but all the organizing "stuff" I bought, as well all my other stuff, only added to the clutter. I'm good at a lot of things, but organizing a home is not one of them, and I literally did not know what to do. So I turned to the Internet. I looked here on Yelp. Kristin has great reviews, so I called her. She came over on a Saturday and spend the day restoring order to my home. I was so discouraged with my house that I just hid in my bedroom while Kristin did her magic. When I came out, it was like a weight been lifted off my shoulders, the sunshine through the clouds. LOL. Kristin took away all the Amazon boxes that had been piling up. She set up systems so that I could do things efficiently and logically--a place to put incoming mail, a place to put groceries, everything for making tea and coffee put together in the same location, etc. I have a lot of hobbies, and little bits and pieces of them were scattered all over the house. Kristin managed to gather, sort and organize all of them. Amazing. I was a little hesitant to hire an organizer because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find my things if somebody moved them. That ended up not being an issue at all, just the opposite. Now, if I want to find something and I don't know where it is, all I have to do is say, "Well, where is the logical place for it?" And there it is. Much better than my old method of trying to remember, searching the house, and then going out and buying a duplicate because I couldn't find what I needed. The best thing is now that my place is organized, I feel much more motivated and capable of keeping it this way on my own. I feel more serene now, and, my life is just, well, better. LOL. I was looking more of interior design ideas or suggestions about furniture layout. I did get few new ideas or how I could repurpose some of the furniture. However I did not get firm advice about what I should do or what is the best layout. The appointment started late. I came home early for the appointment in early evening around 6pm. No call till the appointment of running late. Then finally got hold of her on phone. She was across the bay and running late. I still wanted to meet that day and she agreed to come in even though it was around 8 pm. I don't know whether it was because of that, but I didn't get all the answers. From others reviews it looks like she is good at helping people organize. So it might work out for you. read more

I'm been a long time user of Yelp but just as a lurker and not a reviewer. However, I have been thinking about for a long time and I wanted to share it with fellow Yelpers in the Bay Area. Eye opening and life changing are terms that come to mind if you ask me about my Home Health Checkup that Kristin performed on our home nearly two years ago. Kristin contacted me and told me that she would need to schedule some time to visit our home to perform the Health Check Up. She arrived promptly, was professional and highly personable. She came in and asked me where I kept all of our cleaning products and cleaning tools, vacuums, and etc. She asked if she could take a look at the rest of the rooms of our house and the garage as well. She noted the products that we used. She even checked on the type of mattresses, comforters and pillows we had. She then conducted a verbal survey regarding when we when we bought our furniture, family allergies and even our daily habits like, what door do you use when you come home and other information that she couldn't glean from looking around. Afterwards, she allowed time for questions and she was well informed and non-judgmental. I had no idea that bleach, Comet cleanser and Easy Off oven cleaner were so lethal. Kristin did a good job of explaining why they are harmful to our health and to the environment. She did a good job of following up on a couple of questions that she didn't know the answers to at the time. Within two weeks, she provided a written home health checkup report that assessed our furniture, cleaning products that we use and other miscellaneous items. She offered better choices for cleaner, health friendlier products that we should consider using. She also listed items or products that we should consider getting rid of and explained why. This report was also accompanied by a phone call in case we had any questions. Kristin is very passionate about this topic and she is a wealth of great "green" knowledge. In short, this is what we got out of the Home Health Checkup from Kristin: 1. We were provided with less toxic or non-toxic alternatives that were better for my family and our planet. For the most part, I no longer buy commercially produced cleaning products and I'm saving money to boot. However, occasionally I have a lapse and must buy some purple Fabuloso for those super dirty kitchen floor days but hey, we all have our weaknesses. 2. The checkup was customized for my home and family. She did not used a canned template, because one size does NOT fit most . 3. The whole process was highly informative but interesting at the same time. She provided more information in areas that I was interested in by directing me to online resources, lists of relevant publications and books. She also made some good recommendations on local and online businesses that support her philosophies. 4. She gave me recipes for effective household cleansers that I can easily make with stuff I already have in my kitchen. Kristin also introduced me to the magic that is microfiber cloths and sponges for cleaning. We are now cleaning a lot with steam as well. Cleaning is so much easier when you have the right tools. At the time of the checkup our daughter was two years old and now she's almost four. The only regret I have is that I wish had the Home Health Checkup done before she was born so I could have had a greener and healthier start from the very beginning. I highly recommend getting this done for any household but this should be an absolute must for any family with children or any family with a baby on the way. We are so grateful to Kristin for providing this wonderful service and raising our awareness of dangers that were lurking that we were completely oblivious to. read more

She gave me great ideas for space saving - she drafted my furniture and laid it out like a blue print plan for my new duplex. I hired Kristin because I had a paperwork nightmare in my living room, along with boxes filled with photos and an amazing amount of clutter. Every time I looked at it in the past, I felt kind of hopeless, like it was just beyond fixing. I looked at several organizers on Yelp and picked Kristen for her easy-to-read website and her reviews. What a find! She came two afternoons for 4 hours each day and my living room is transformed! She was able to help me sort paperwork and other stuff into manageable piles that I then could decide whether they were keep, recycle or donate. She also helped me clear out a full chest of drawers in a spare room closet, and move it out, so all the photos could be stored there. Kristen is a lovely young woman, who brings her own helpful supplies and not an ounce of judgement. She works at the speed of sound, providing great value. She took my donated books to Half-Price books, netting me a cool $12.50. The second day she left with all my donate boxes and took them to Savers. She also helped me clean up the chest of drawers, put it on Craigslist and checked back with me that evening and the next day. This was all included in her her fee! If you are like me, and just can't get going on organizing your house, Kristin is the person to call. It is a bit expensive, but money extremely well spent. I am so glad that I hired Kristin to help me get organized. I recently moved to Fremont and as a mom of two young children I struggled to get the house in order. Kristin Hashimoto of Creative Organizing did a terrific job completely transforming my 11 year old daughter's bedroom. After a 2+ year (unsuccessful) struggle to tame her room, I hired Kristin. I just had an excellent experience with Kristin Hashimoto from Creative Organizing. She's a professional organizer and I found buried treasures while cleaning, purging, donating and recycling. I had boxes that hadn't been touched since I moved here in 2000. My pantry was full of stuff that I didn't need (12 flower vases for example) and I was storing items in paper bags under tables. My place was a mess. Kirstin works extremely hard and I'm so very happy now. My living room, office, game room and kitchen are all decluttered and my pantry is organized, so I have inventory control. I had lots of things that I no longer have a need for and I'm glad I could donate them to people who will get a use out of them. I usually do not write reviews, but in this case I feel compelled to do so because I am so satisfied and happy with the results I have recently experienced working with Kristin Hashimoto of Creative Organizing. My home has been transformed from a chaotic cluttered mess to a welcoming haven of organized peace and neatness. I had been wanting to get organized for years, but despaired that my disorder and clutter seemed to be too much for me to tackle. I always thought that I should have been able to get organized on my own without asking for help, but I simply felt overwhelmed by the magnitude of effort I thought it would take to straighten out my jumbled mess. Finally I reached out for help, and Kristin came to the rescue with her quiet swiftness. Kristin is a hard worker and easy to get along with. She had plenty of suggestions for how to proceed with decluttering and organizing my home, but at the same time was willing to be flexible and work with me in a way and at a pace that I was able to handle. I have a 20' x 20' building in my backyard, which we've slowly filled over the last 10-15 yrs. with stored belongings. I'm currently spending most of my time with my new grandson, and I'll be caring for him when my daughter returns to work in a couple weeks. I needed to clear out a room in my house and put it's contents into my storage building so I could set up a daytime nursery. The storage building was almost full and everything in it was basically tossed in, so I decided to get it organized to make room for the stuff from the house. I hired Creative Organizing because it's a certified green business, and in anticipation of letting go of things I'm storing but not using, I loved the idea of recycling instead of just throwing things away. Kristin came out and helped me get rid of all the stuff in the storage building that I've kept just because I didn't know what else to do with it. We donated everything that was usable and recycled what we could from the "throw away" pile. She even took the old blankets I didn't need to the local animal shelter herself. She organized the remainder of the building, neatly put the items from my house into it and she set up the nursery so that everything I needed was within arms reach. My storage building is unrecognizable-it's neat and clean! And, I feel good about letting go of so much unneeded stuff by donating it to a local homeless shelter, where it's needed.
