Wow! Can not recommend this business high enough. The Chef got it right when he named the business "Creative Flavors". We had a beautiful intimate dinner party for 12. Each course out did the last. He planned and communicated well before the party and even accommodated several food allergies with a big smile on his face. (Not true of all Chefs or catering establishments.) The night was perfect, the food was truly amazing. For dessert he suggested little "bites" of different things smores, little cheescakes, nut squares, etc. Everything was PERFECT and the guests are still raving. Everyone asked for his number. We had Creative Flavors cater our annual formal Black and White Ball, a big event. This was one of the worst experiences we have ever had. The salad (which was good) was served with several types of dressing which were in pint size DELI style containers. Before the used salad plates were removed, some of the food was placed on the tables in plastic bowls, left to get cold, and followed 20 to 30 minutes later by the chicken. Dirty dishes were not removed in a timely manner. There was too little help; one man had no idea what he was doing or should be doing. We have catered parties in our very large retirement complex very frequently, often two or three a month, year round. This was not the type of experience we have had with any other caterer. Creative Flavors is on our black list. Beware. read more

We recently had an 80th Birthday Party (reunion bash) for our mother Pat. We had a 75 person turnout from all over the country. The event was held at the Carlsbad Inn and Chris Logan from Creative Flavors catered this special day... Incredible! Many different culinary pallets from vegetarians to carnivores attended! The menu was well balanced (Fusion Couscous, Jumbo White Mexican Prawns, Goat Cheese and Roasted Beet Salad, Buttermilk Chicken Fingers with Avo Ranch Sauce, etc ...). I've been on the receiving end of Chef Logan's culinary creations three separate times and have never had a problem finishing everything on my plates and wanting more. I think my favorite thing about his work is that he not only does a great job with the main courses, but he makes truly remarkable desserts too. His presentation is always appealling and he does a great job introducing items that you wouldn't ordinarily find in a catered meal, for example, Hawaiian sea salt and 18 year aged balsamic. Chris has catered our work Christmas party the past 2 years. I am a total foodie and have loved everything he has prepared for us. The first year we had heavy appetizers and everything was amazing but I specifically remember the short rib raviolis and infused vegetables being off the charts and unlike anything I have had before. This past year we had a 3 course meal and my favorite part was the beef wellington...so good!! and everyone is still talking about the carmel pecan dessert with sea salt. But after speaking with Chris, all my fears were put to rest. He is so easygoing, so pleasant, and importantly... an amazing chef who cares about the end product as much as, if not more than his client. We've were lucky enough to win a sunset yacht cruise, catered by Chef Logan, at a charity event. What luck!! Our sunset cruise was horrendous, but the food saved the day. Since then we've had him come cater a couple of small dinners at our home in Pt. Loma. His food is amazing. There is a level of refinement which is on par with the nicest restaurants in San Diego (or anywhere for that matter). He caters to what you are looking for and has no problem adjusting to specific needs. He has a great knack for pairing wine with food. And like another poster mentioned, he is friendly and has a great positive attitude (even when the stove in your kitchen is acting up, as was the case at my house). I've loved all of his courses he's made for us (we've had around 12-14 different dishes), and they've varied from classic french (cassoulet) to asian fusion, and all have been delicious. And his desserts have been knockouts each time. I'd recommend Chef Logan to anyone without hesitation. read more

We can't thank Chris enough for, once again, exceeding our expectations with his culinary expertise. We held our anniversary celebration at a beach venue with about 70 people this past weekend. He helped us with a perfect menu selection so that even the pickiest eaters went back for more and raved about the fantastic food. He brought great staff that took care or our guests and allowed us to enjoy our party. His crab cakes were so amazing and I feel my mouth watering just thinking about them! My other guilty pleasure was the mac'n'cheese. His menu extended from delicious appetizers to salmon, delicious autumn vegetables, moist and tender chicken, cous cous salad that had so many fantastic flavors in every bite, to the bite sized desserts.
