These days it's not often you meet a trade professional who is, as the saying goes, "old school". By that I mean someone who is a true craftsman who takes pride in their work, wants to work collaboratively with the customer, presents reasonable estimates for work, comes in at the bid provided and shows up exactly when they say they are going to and finishes the job on time! To describe our installation as tricky doesn't begin to cover it. Might sound odd, but it's been about a month and I am still stroking these new countertops every day. No grout lines, no seams, a breeze to keep clean and gorgeous. They are Livingstone solid surface with Corian and Livingstone integrated sinks and one stainless steel undermount bar sink. The owner is Danny Madrigal and he is such a skilled professional. First he impressed with an installation of a Formica work surface in the garage. He was on time and the price was good. It's been 3+ years and it remains unmarred. We had him back to replace 4 sinks and 6 countertops in the kitchen and baths. First he listened. I mentioned that the one thing I liked about Formica is the no drip front edge that stops liquids from getting on the floor or one's clothing. He said he could do that with solid surface, and he did. the plumber was so impressed when he came to reconnect the plumbing that he told Danny that it was such a great feature that he should price it in even if it does take extra hours. Danny suggested a particular color/pattern of Livingstone for the kitchen, and it was far and away the best choice. I asked him to set into the top of the backsplash a 3" deep by 9" long shelf next to the kitchen sink. I wanted to get the sponges and dish soap off the high traffic counter next to the sink and out of the way. It took him over 2 hours to measure everything and he came back during the fabrication phase to recheck an area that had many intersecting curves. I asked him what I could do to prep for the install, and he gave me useful advice that paid off. Installation took 2 days. We had a plumber disconnect the faucets and sinks the night before just in case there were unpleasant plumbing surprises. Danny showed up with many many tools, gallons of water and lunch, so there was no disappearing from the job. Both he and his employee worked nonstop until after dark. Dry-fitting involved adjusting the countertops, so they took them in and out of the house repeatedly, yet never marred a door frame, appliance or anything else. They managed the dust with a vacuum-equipped sander and warned me about the solvent smell when they joined the segments. They had to fit the counters to an existing mirror frame and wall tile and lay them on existing cabinets. Danny was relentlessly upbeat and patient, even with me taking photos. The seams are not just inconspicuous, but straight up invisible. Plus, with coved side- and backsplashes, which are not available in granite or engineered stone, it's all one clean expanse. The matte finish hides dust. The price Danny gave us at the front end was the price he charged, no changeorders or excuses even though some problems had to be managed (e.g. a bowed wall). I was later going through paperwork from years of researching this remodel, and I found that Creative Countertop's price was less than anyone else even with the odd no-drip edge and the tiny shelf in the backsplash. You will have to use the phone as well as email to get dates certain, but this is small cookies in the grand scheme. It went WAY more smoothly than I expected and I credit Danny with this. read more

Creative Countertops installed the vanity countertop in our master bath and it's just perfect!! Daniel and James installed the corian with the integrated, no-lip sinks and it's like walking into a fancy spa. We had them also create a 4" ledge shelf (as part of the backsplash) which they took right off the back of the countertop so that the swirl pattern in the counter matched directly onto the ledge and it looks SO fantastic!!! The installation was done quickly and professionally and we couldn't be happier with their work and the product. Every time we go into the bathroom, the countertop look and feel just makes us smile!! I would give Danny and James 10 stars if I could! I had a very challenging job..I wanted my existing built-in 22 year old undermounted corian sink to be cut out and replaced with a smaller granite one bowl sink. Danny and James had to trim pieces off of an old cutting board that I had, glue and sand it, and then rework the corian to fit the new sink. Then they refinished the entire corian counter. After 30 man hours, they still came back to the house and delivered my custom cutting board that integrates perfectly into my sink.
