the BEST bundt cakes my taste buds have ever had!!! we got two mini cakes during covid-19 sheltering. we called in our order, + they promptly had it ready for us within the hour. we handled our transaction over the phone which made it easy for pick up, all we had to do was call in + tell them where we parked + they come out with a bag of yummy cakes! they also dressed up one of the cakes beautifully for a birthday. we got the banana butterscotch (UH-MAZE-ing) + the carrot cake; both were devine! they offer gluten-free options as well. definitely our new go-to for celebratory cakes + sweet tooth fix! read more

The cake look so delicious but was hard as a rock. I even warmed it up a little bit. It was still hard. The best part of it was the Icing. Then Long Beach has too many fees. So paying $15 for 2 single servings was too much. I will definitely stick to Nothing Bundt Cakes. read more

We ordered two things. Chocolate chip ice cream sandwich and the carrot cake for 1. Total was a little more than $15. The ice cream sandwich is big enough to share. I let the cake sit on the counter to come up to room temperature. It was very good. Nice and moist. The frosting was a little sweet for my taste but still very good. I probably would like about 40% less on my cake. I would come back and try another cake. read more

I have followed this business for almost 30 years. I discovered then when a friend sent me a cane after breaking my ankle. I have mailed them, had them delivered and picked up more than I can count. I have NEVER been disappointed!!! As a bonus... my son is gluten and dairy free. Creative Cakery has a lovely selection of the most delicious gluten free, dairy free desserts. I do not like this place especially when placing an order online for grubhub. This place is overly priced, plus they charge 3 extra dollars for a sign? The cream on the cake wasnt good. And the cake itself was too dry and tasteless and waay too bland. I would definitely not recommend place to anyone. Sorry, but this place is way too overpricey for their cakes. Plus I could go to another bundt cake place for something else. Waste of my money and service fees. read more

Definitely a go to spot for quick, easy and flavorful cakes to have for any celebration. Our favorites are the French vanilla and personally anything lemon! Love that they offer slices so you don't over indulge. They also have super cute party favors & cake decorations, although on the pricey side (for me) so I typically window shop and will spend on the desserts instead. read more

Unfortunately the Red Velvet cake was terrible. Dry cake and nothing like red velvet from anywhere I have ever had. It tasted like it was pumpkin. Worth driving to Nothing Bundt cake next time. Nice people however and cute store. read more

So we got a Birthday cake for my beautiful mother. The cake alone was beautiful and it tasted good. I'm going to say good and not great. The cake comes frozen and you're supposed to thaw it. That's pretty normal except time given us didn't seem to thaw the cake out pretty well. Also this cake was really small for $48. I wanted to order from Nothing Bundt Cakes but we opted for this one. Like I said it was good but not as good as I thought it could have been. The next day it's a little crumbly. Overall I give this place a 4 mostly because the decorations were so nice. Came in here yesterday for my first time to pick up a vegan & gluten free carrot cake bundt cake for my co-worker. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a friendly face and a smile. Inside is decorated so cute! They have party supplies for you to purchase which makes it super convenient if you're picking something up last minute. You can place orders ahead of time or just stop by! They have a BIG selection of bunts cakes, brownies, cookies, and ice cream sandwiches that you can pick up on the go. The store looked super clean and everything looked fresh! Although I didn't try the bundt cake my co-worker said it was delicious, fresh, and moist! This place was GREAT! I had company in town from NY and they all have a gluten condition. I saw that this place was the only specialty gluten/vegan cake shop that's open on Mondays. So I came here after work (3pm) and showed up. I see the worker putting things away and I explained how I'm sorry I showed up late, I had no idea they closed early on Mondays 3pm. She did not hesitate to help me out especially that it was the only gluten vegan shop open that day. I was really appreciative of her. I never got her name so I can mention her in this review but I just want to say Thank you. You made my family from NY feel really special. They loved the chocolate cake and carrot cake. read more

Unbelievable. Do places like this still exist? Can there still be a business that cares about the customers satisfaction and has an incredible product as well? They do. I've seen it, I've been here and I am inspired. So let's get to the core of the business. I've been here a few times to grab a quick treat after a family outing to one of our favorite eateries that is very close (Wahoos). Always been very happy with the self service case (need to be an adult) that has some amazing little individual serving size portions of their goods. Have had the mini-bundt cakes on more than one occasion and their lemon bars which is a must with a toddler that loves the sour. Never been disappointed and found the cakes to always be moist and flavorful. I've had the lemon, red velvet and chocolate and have never been disappointed. The most impressive thing, customer service is impeccable here seems like it is family owned and the wonderful lady here seems to very much care about the customers. Will surely be back. read more

Creative Cakery is one of those places that makes such cute desserts that you almost have to assume that the flavor is going to suck. BUT, I have some good news for you...Creative Cakery's cakes and other little other delectables taste as good as they are cutesy and pretty! This is one teeny tiny little store located by Trader Joes off PCH and 2nd Street. Seriously, with about 3 customers in here this place feel jam packed and crowded. Everyone who works here is so friendly though, and this makes up for the fact that you can feel like a packed-in sardine here during their peak hours. I have used Creative Cakery for a few things over the years, from Prom back in high school, to various birthdays, the unique and gorgeous design always makes a statement at a gathering. I'm not usually a cake person, but the bunt cakes from here are dense and flavorful. When I've ordered cakes for a birthday, I think I've always always gotten chocolate (because I'm a repeat offending chocoholic!) and that is one chocolatey and good bunt. We have also used Creative Cakery for a bite-sized treats party for a party, and they were a huge hit. We picked an assortment of goodies, and as usual, they made brownie-bite things taste good and look adorable. The friendly staff will work with you to try to create the theme that you're looking for. If you want to make an impact with great presentation and wonderful flavor, then I suggestion Creative Cakery for a party when you're required to bring the dessert or if you're hosting a party. And it sure doesn't hurt to leave the shop with a brownie to take home after you've placed your order. Watch out for the refrigerator with the revolving dessert tray...it's deadly because it's packed with delicious bites! read more

What a stellar service they provide here. Customer service here is truly amazing and I have yet to find a service as fantastic as Creative Cakery! I came here looking for a cake that had to have certain ingredients omitted due to food allergies and after a few minutes of brainstorming, we found the perfect bundt cake with dairy free frosting! I sampled a few flavors and they were very tasty and moist; I was very pleased as these bundt cakes were made without certain ingredients and you can't tell the difference from regular cakes. My two bundt cakes were made, decorated, wrapped, and ready to go within 25 minutes and they were so cute! I couldn't have asked for better cakes. The person who received the cake was so impressed with the flavor and couldn't believe that it was gluten free, dairy free, etc! The other bundt cake was a sample bundt cake which had a slice of red velvet, carrot, banana walnut, lemon, poppy seed, and chocolate chip. It was devoured by the gals in less than 45 minutes. The only thing left were crumbs and a few ribbons. The lemon, poppy seed, and chocolate chip were the most favored flavors and I agree. They were all very flavorful, moist, and had a great balanced of flavors. It was not too rich and not too bland. I am definitely coming back as they have a lot of selection on bundt cakes and cookies! read more

I haven't had one of their bundt cakes in years and honestly, the last time I did I recall it being dry and not worth the calories. Time has been a game changer for the better! One was delivered to my office today and what can I say, I caved and had a piece. Okay, I had two. It was fabulous. So moist, fresh and well worth the calories. A delicious chocolate with a buttercream icing and I could easily have a third piece, but there needs to be some semblance of self control. Doesn't there? Next time I'm in the LBC, I will plan on swinging by for sure. read more

I try to not eat sweets a lot since diabetes runs in my family.. but who can say no to free samples? The woman who helped me that day (didn't get her name) was super nice. She bombarded me with samples and kinda forced them on me.. ahahah but it's okay!! She was moreso like, "noo, noo you must!" type of thing. I tried pretty much all: banana, poppyseed, chocolate, vanilla, lemon, and carrot. WOW now I wish they made a strawberry. Pretty much all flavors are super moist. The cream cheese frosting wasn't too sweet at all when you let it sit (after it has been in the fridge) it gets to a creamy consistency again and is deliciousssss with the cake. Dammit now I really crave. My favorite was probably the chocolate..a bit too many chocolate chips in there for me, and though I'm not really a chocolate type of girl, I can see myself eating the huge version of this with some milk to wash it down. The chocolate flavor didn't punch you in the ovaries/testes so that is what makes it easy to eat. Poppyseed came to a close second, as that was easy to eat. There is some almond flavoring in it and kinda lemony cause of the poppyseed (that's what I think poppyseed tastes like..just very subtle..) Banana was good too..it was just like eating banana bread but moister! However I think I've made a better banana bread from bobby flay. Vanilla didn't wow me as much as the others.. Lemon was pretty good but I can see myself drinking milk with that one as that one gets puckery.. Carrot was okay.. the cream cheese is really the icing on the cake. The bundts themselves are good but when you add the cream cheese it brings them over the edge. They also have brownies and coffee cake and other various things (no cupcakes) and gluten free stuff! I ended up getting a slice of their yummy chocolate bundt which was like $.3.25/$3.50. Good slice for a not bad price. Also, when you buy a slice, they put it in a cellophane bag and tie it up with a festive ribbon, leave you a napkin and a fork!! which I thought was very nice. read more

When I saw this place, I was sucked in like dirt in a Roomba. And the first thing I noticed once I was inside was the passion and kindness of the employees. They were just welcoming, they generously offered samples, they were excited to hear that it was my first time there, and they made me feel at home! This place specializes in bundt cakes. You know...those cakes with the ring shape. I had samples of everything and I enjoyed their double chocolate cake and their carrot cake. They're liberally frosted and they're simple, but done well. The other cool thing is that if you're willing to put down a few extra bucks, then they thoughtfully wrap and decorate your cakes. Take a look at the pictures to see what they've done for people. That type of thoughtful decoration is a nice personal touch. The service is definitely 5 stars. I'd definitely come back and I enjoyed my cake. The cakes were moist and they offer many classic flavors. The reason that this isn't 5 stars is because these cakes were enjoyable, but not extraordinary. The reason I'd come back would be if I wanted a classic flavor (vanilla, chocolate, carrot) with a unique, custom decoration with personal touches. I'd also like to see more flavors. They don't have to be trendy flavors that we see in cupcakeries. That route would be a mistake for them, as it's not their style. But I'd love to see their take on other classics (eg: strawberry, hazelnut). Oh...and I have to come back for their coffee cake. read more

The employees aren't the most high energy, but they've always been kind, recognize my husband and I, and have even remembered my regular order a few times. My favorites are the almond croissant and the apple turnover, but their muffins and danishes are good too. We haven't bought a full size cake yet, but the mini cupcakes we've tried have been good! Moist cake and frosting with flavor, not just sugar. The fruit tarts and macarons are some of our favorite items to grab for dessert. A couple tips as regulars: * If you're wanting a specific pastry, come in within a couple hours of opening! The few times we've waited until after noon, they were out of our favorites. * They open at 8AM every day but are closed on Sundays and Mondays. This is why we always come on Saturdays or the occasional weekday morning.

My only con was, I wanted to make small talk with my cashier about my little lunchtime adventure, but when I did, there was no feedback, which was a little disappointing. I felt that they just wanted to service me so I could go. When I go back, I hope that changes. I would love to be a regular, maybe they will call me "the lady from across the street". It would definitely make me want to come on a regular basis!

I was so happy to have found Simply Eggless Bakery - Délicieux located in the heart of Artesia. Every cake, every dessert they make is eggless. They also have vegan cakes. I spoke to a pleasant and helpful lady over the phone to place my order. I asked for her recommendation on which flavor is best. She mentioned the Black Forest and Mango Mousse are their best sellers. I went with the former in 8 inch (medium). For those who aren't familiar with the Black Forest, it's a rich chocolate sponge cake soaked in sweet cherry syrup and layered with smooth vanilla mousse and luscious cherry mousse topped with decadent chocolate shavings and cherries. Price was $39.99 which is very reasonable. She sent me a link over the phone for payment. Made easy peezy! Thank you miss! I have never bought a whole Black Forest cake in the past and the first one I buy happens to be eggless. So cool! And this was my very first time eating an eggless cake. Even cooler! They are closed on Mondays so I had to pick up the cake on Sunday. It was perfect because I was coming home from Carlsbad so it was on my way. It turned out this bakery is inside the Pioneer Cash & Carry grocery store. I informed the nice young lady behind the counter that we would not be eating the cake until Tuesday. She suggested I place the cake in the freezer that Sunday night and take it out at 7:00 PMish on Monday night to have it defrost gradually in the frig before consumption on Tuesday afternoon. She said if the cake is placed in the frig the entire time, it may dry out. Of course I didn't want a dry cake so I followed her instructions to the T. Thank you so much miss! Cake was very moist and spongy. Filling was not too sweet... perfect complement to the cake. Not one ounce of dryness at least not in my slice. SO VERY YUMMY! I now want to try their mango mousse cake. I may just return to get them by the slice so I can try all the different flavors. I've been a faithful customer of Creative Cakery for many years. I was sad when the location in Los Alamitos closed but I enjoyed going to to the marketplace in Long Beach. Laurie was so pleasant and the young girls that would work there were always so sweet. Natalie would always help me when I would walk in. However, the last couple of times I have ordered a cake were not the same. I ordered a large chocolate cake for Easter and when I served it, the cake literally crumbled when I cut into it. I was so disappointed and embarrassed in front of my family and friends because I always provide dessert knowing I can depend on Creative Cakery. I went in again a couple of days ago thinking I just got a bad cake. I ordered a lemon cake in the 10-14 size and when I went to pick it up, I noticed when they showed it to me, I was given the wrong flavor. They had put together a carrot cake and I told them I ordered lemon because my son can't have a cake with nuts, plus it was his birthday cake. I'm thankful that I noticed in time before I left with it and the nice worker said she was going to switch the correct flavor for me. When I was ready to serve the cake, I was trying to stay calm but inside I was so upset. The worker had given me the wrong flavor again. I received the french vanilla which has nuts in it!!! So my son could not eat his birthday cake and once again I was embarrassed. I called the next day and asked to speak to a manager. The girl told me they wouldn't be there that day and I asked what day would they be there. She replied she didn't know and I left a message for them to call me back. Of course I haven't heard back and I'm ready to give up on Creative Cakery. I never thought I would say that because my loyalty has been so strong. Knowing that Laurie is not there makes sense of why things are so horrible. I never tried Nothing Bundt Cakes but it's worth a shot now. I stopped in Creative Cakery last weekend. The plaza were they are located, on Spring and Clark St. in Long Beach, had been under construction for quite some time and all the shops had closed for remodeling. My boyfriend and I enjoy going to the taco place located in the same plaza. This was the first time we'd gone for tacos since they'd reopened. I never had noticed the bakery there until the remodeling had started. Every time we'd drive by while the construction was underway I'd notice the sign for the bakery and was anxious to try it, so last weekend I did! I purchased a slice of the "Banana Toffee" cake, a mini sample "Pumpkin Spice" bunt, a slice of "Cinnamon Crumb" cake, a "Snickerdoodle" and "Molasses Ginger Snap cookie. OMG, the Banana slice... A MAZ ING! The mini Pumpkin bunt... DE LIC I OUS! The Ginger Snap, well I inhaled it so fast it must have been awesome! All I remember was it was soft, chewy and smelled A MAZ ING! MY boyfriend had the Crumb cake and Snickerdoodle. He said they were REALLY GOOD! I signed up with my phone number to receive "Rewards", so I'm headed back to redeem mine ASAP! I am so disappointed with the way things have turned out with this place. I was sad when I heard the ownership had changed because the last owner was truly an angel and took pride in her business. The new owners clearly do not value the same things. The prices of the cakes have increased way up and the decorations are not worth it. I called to place an order to ship it to my parents in Idaho and one of the new owners that I spoke with didn't know any information on how to help me ship a cake. I tried to order online before I called but the system was down and when I mentioned that to her, she denied it and said maybe I didn't know what I was doing. Is that how you talk to your customers on a daily basis? Please think twice before you come here because the product is not the same. Anyone can bake a Betty Crocker cake at home for half the price of these cakes. read more

I was in a rush one day to find a birthday cake to surprise a friend. I found Creative Cakery on Yelp when they had a deal at the time. The cakes were a bit pricey, but man were they GOOD. I normally don't fancy sweets or desserts of any sort, but this cake was on point. From the look of the cake, you would not expect anything that extraordinary, but you will be gladly disappointed. The cream/frosting they use to the texture of the cake to the flavor, all combined for the perfect balance of sweet heaven. I sampled their lemon poppy seed cake which was BOMB. I ended choosing their chocolate chip cake for my friend. They put some decorations on top of the cake and printed out a little card that read, "Happy Birthday, Felicia!". I was able to surprise my friend when she got out of class and she loved her cake! I will definitely be returning for more! read more

The quality of their cake is sooo good and the frosting is yummy. The French Vanilla is our favorite cake. It has shaved almonds in it and yummy frosting. They will decorate it with any style and they have really cute ideas for just about any hobby or style. We have gotten more than 25 cakes from them for our business over the years and they are always fresh and ready for pick-up. read more

The creative carrot and lemonlicious are fantastic, flavor packed and allergy friendly. Gluten, wheat, dairy, nut free carrot cake and lemon bars are great. Seriously- this place is fantastic! I haven't tried all the flavors (never had lemon or poppyseed) but you can't go wrong with the carrot cake, chocolate cake, banana cake, coffee cake...the vanilla can occasionally be too sweet but I think that's me. They offer a variety cake which consists of slices of all of the different flavors = awesome for parties. read more

Why have Holey Grail Donuts when you can have Frosted Cupcakery instead?!…read more Okay, that might be quite the low blow considering that Holey Grail Donuts recently closed for good here in Long Beach, but Frosted Cupcakery seems to have withstood the test of time for ~20 years. Possibly a testament to how good their cupcakes really are?! So I had a Fivestars reward for a free cupcake from Frosted Cupcakery, and since I was planning an afternoon getaway by the beach, I wanted to stop by to claim my free cupcake before expiry. Frosted Cupcakery is located in Belmont Shore two doors east of where Holey Grail Donuts used to be. If you're still not sure where that is, it's on 2nd St about a couple blocks east of the intersection with Livingston. They had a bunch of different flavors to choose from, but the Royal White Cookie Butter cupcake piqued my interest since it sounded like a winning combo that was hard to beat. I asked the employee to describe what it was, and once she said the words "Biscoff cookie", I was immediately sold! They had plenty of that flavor's cupcakes in stock, which kind of led me to believe it wasn't a popular flavor, but I still went with my gut instinct. The employee grabbed a Royal White Cookie Butter cupcake from the display case, placed said cupcake in a white paper bag, added a Frosted Cupcakery sticker on top, and handed it to me while wishing me a good day. I did ask her how long the cupcakes would last in the fridge, and she went to the back to ask a supervisor, giving me more time to peruse the available flavors shown in the display case. She came back shortly later to inform me that the cupcakes should remain good for about 2 to 3 days on the counter. On the way out, I also grabbed a Frosted Cupcakery card, which contains the contact info for the shop as well as the list of cupcake flavors, some of which are seasonal, gluten-free, or even vegan! The card also mentions that the cupcakes are handcrafted, likely with love. I spent a couple more hours chilling by the beach before going home to finally enjoy my cupcake. I noticed there was an unusually large see-through (grease?) spot on the side of the bag, which almost made me think it wasn't a cupcake inside the bag. When I took out the Royal White Cookie Butter cupcake from the bag, I noticed a divider between the frosting and the wrapper, which I thought was a nice touch to separate the two entities of the cupcake. However, I struggled a bit with removing the divider before taking my first bite, which was superb! The buttercream and cookie butter crumbles on top did make for a winning combo, and I wish the flavor could have been prevalent below the divider as well. However, even that flavor seemed to have dissipated after the first bite akin to an exponential decay. They have a few tables inside where you can enjoy your cupcakes with friends. However, take note of the fact that they only allow a maximum of 2 dozen cupcakes for walk-in customers; this is denoted by a sign on the display case. If you want more than 2 dozen, you'd have to place a special order, likely online, but I'm sure over the phone would work as well. Parking? Well, certainly not the easiest as it's in Belmont Shore. While there is a small parking lot directly behind the cupcake shop, I believe it's either paid parking or reserved for other businesses like Philz Coffee or F&M Bank. I had to find a spot on Livingston and walk over, which wasn't too far of a walk, but could be worse on the weekends. Overall, I liked the complimentary cupcake that I got courtesy of Fivestars, but I didn't think it was *that* good to warrant the 5th star from me. I do agree it's a great spot to order cupcakes from, especially if you're planning a day at the nearby beach!
