The work was great. The communication was the worst ever. One of their contractors put two hammer through holes in the room next to the remodeled bathroom and didn't tell us. The VERY next day the same guy put his knee into our hallway wall and didn't tell anyone. The owner never returned our calls. Mitch the foreman refuses to say "I'm sorry" and will just hmm and haw and say "this happens, we'll make it right." The could care less they are unprofessional and causing more damage to the house then was before they started. Mitch also measured a bathroom floor wrong (it is a rectangle) and they shorted our tile order so a three day job went to two weeks. The wife of the owner starts texting my wife about a check question and is rude. Just the worst, one of those situations where as soon as they started working I wish I could have gone with another company. read more

A woman answered the phone and said that I needed to speak with someone by the name of Mitch and that he wouldn't be in until that following Thursday. She took down my info and said he would give me a call to schedule an estimate. Well, Thursday came and went and I never heard from Mitch. I called again and left a voicemail... you guessed it, no one returned my call. I guess they're not interested in any new business. I hired Creative Building & Remolding to completely redo my master bathroom. During the installation their contractor assured my husband and me on separate occasions that the floor would be level. He never said we had foundation issues. When the bathroom was completed the floor and toilet were NOT level. We reported it to the owner and sent him pictures. The owner said it would require extra work and expense; the installer NEVER said this. The owner did not offer any remedy until I filed a complaint with the BBB; even then he would not guarantee it would be level. At binding arbitration the owner admitted the work was not within industry standard.I promised to UPDATE my online reviews, but he rescinded his offer when I refused to REMOVE my online reviews. He lost binding arbitration, at which time the owner said his work with the below industry standards and he refuses to abide by the contract HE signed which changed his BBB review to NR. Luckily the Judge agreed with the Arbitrator, the business had to refund me a large percent of the contract price. read more

If you look at the company's web site they do work in Gross Point which is located in Wayne County. My our home is in Detroit (East English Village) one block over from Gross Point. Creative Building was recommended to me by a colleague so I stopped in to their showroom around 11:30 am on August 20 to speak to someone about remodeling one of my bathrooms. A woman came out of the back room to greet me and I said I would like to speak to someone about a bathroom remodel. She said the bathroom display was upstairs and I should go up there to look around and someone would be up to assist me in a minute. I wandered around alone in the display area for 25 minutes and nobody came to assist me. I then went back downstairs and wandered around for another minute or two. I could hear the employees talking and laughing in the back room. I then left this business thinking that if this is the caliber of service extended to customers when attempting to get the job what would it be like if I gave them the contract? They must have enough business that they can afford to ignore new customers. I have since signed a contract with another firm for $16,800 to remodel the bathroom. read more

Super happy with my bathroom remodel. The guy this company contracted was amazing. He was very helpful and professional. He did more work than what was expected of him as he put one coat of paint on the walls and painted the ceiling for me, this was supposed to be my responsibility. He was also able to communicate with me whenever a problem arose and was solution focused to make it all work. Won't lie, it took awhile and was expensive but worth it. I had the worst customer service experience with Creative Remodeling. 2 month ago, I made an initial appointment at 3:30 pm, but the sales & design person never showed up and had to call the office back. The female reprehensive didn't know where he was, and finally she called me back, saying the sales person couldn't make it. I made the appointment 3:30 pm a week later, but he didn't show up again. He never called me why he didn't come to the appointment, either. I had to call the office again!! The sales & design person called me this time that he can come to 5:00 pm on the same day. When I came bake home at 5:00 pm, he parked his car in front of the garage where I cannot access to. I waited for 5 minutes, but he was still doing something in the car and never moved. He was so rude and impolite. He never apologized not to show 2 appointments. After measuring the kitchen, he asked me when I can come to his showroom. Next Saturday appointments were all booked, so he promised me to email me the estimates and information. Guess what? NEVER HAPPENED!!! Unfortunately, I threw his business card, and don't remember his name. But he is the one who goes to each house as a designer. I am glad that I don't use this company. It's difficult to rate a company that cannot remember to show up for a design appointment. Initial appointment in our home went well. Second appointment in the store was somewhat surprising as the quote was quite low. Third appointment to finalize design and discuss materials, oh, our salesman forgot to show up! We waited in the shop for 20 minutes before leaving. No one else seemed aware of his schedule, nor did they appear to care. Gave up an hour of our precious Saturday and skipped one of our kid's sporting events. He called from the golf course later in the day to apologize. Unprofessional. read more

After reading positive reviews on this company, I hired them for a kitchen remodel. The contractors Mike & Dave were always on time, worked extremely hard and cleaned up every day. They were pleasant, asked the right questions and suggested changes to the original plan. After a couple of days, I was comfortable leaving them alone in my home. Once it was time for the backsplash, I was not happy with the contractor they sent in. One phone call to the owner, Jerry, remedied my concerns. 2 days later a different tile man, Tony, came and finished the job perfectly. My beautiful kitchen has exceeded my expectations and the continued communication and expertise of this company is second to none. Do not hesitate to hire this company. I hired Creative Building & Remodeling to build new kitchen cabinets and reface existing cabinets and I have mixed reviews of the company. First and foremost, I am extremely pleased with the service provided by the installer Scott Nottingham! He did an amazing job! He was very professional, timely and provided great customer service. The cabinets are leveled properly, crown molding looks great, cabinet doors are "butted" properly and I appreciate how well he polished the cabinets and cleaned up the kitchen when the job was complete and the overall craftmanship of the cabinets is great! Unfortunately, my opinion of the overall company is not so great. I was not informed that the job would take nearly 6 weeks to complete nor was I provided a list in advance of who the contractors were, what service they would be providing and a schedule of when they would arrive so I could manage my time and/or ensure someone from my family would be available to let them in while the work was being performed. During the tear out, my microwave door was dented (after 2 emails I sent to Lorrie, I am still waiting for Jerry/Todd to come by to take a look at it so they can order me a new door.) The drywall contractor did not properly mud and sand the new wall they installed or the ceiling where the reverse header was installed. There is a visible "hump" in both areas. I sent an email to Lorrie and I am still waiting on Jerry/Todd to come out to look at it and send the contractor to repair it. Considering the amount of money I spent on this project, I expected these repairs to be corrected upon the 1st notification of the problem without me having to continuously follow up to determine the status. read more

We just finished a kitchen remodel with this company. We had our cabinets refaced and new counter top installed with sink and a new Island built. The entire job was complete in 3 weeks. Scott did an excellent job with the cabinet refacing and worked hard and fast. He even came on the weekends when we could swing it. He did a great job cleaning up after each day! My husband and I hired Creative remodeling spring of 2017 due the length of time in business, competitive pricing, David Barnett making great recommendations helping us choose the basics for our major Kitchen remodel and the assurance of a 10 year warranty. The job started with the removal of the old cabinets then, soffits to open our space which required plastering and repair work to walls before cabinets were installed. Ken and his assistant Jeff did an amazing job, gutting the space to prep for the cabinets; then a team patched the ceiling and primed before the gorgeous Cherrywood Nutmeg LaFata cabinets were installed. We were especially impressed by Ken's expertise in overseeing that every element was handled smoothly in accordance to the configuration of the space and our satisfaction. Whenever, there was a concern, Ken contacted the owner, Jerry, who promptly popped over to identify the issue, and provide options with a quick resolution. Ken and Jeff worked hard installing all the cabinets; some were special made by Jerry which were precisely measured. When handles on cabinets were installed one was defective, Ken quickly replaced it, then, did an outstanding job installing flush molding on one side of the kitchen and 6"crown molding on the sink side. Ken and Jeff installed all appliances, fixtures, seven recessed lights, three pendants with perfect placement, also all electrical switches, and plates followed by a thorough cleaning. We're grateful for David's recommendation of the 60/40 sink with a stainless steel Delta faucet that had a magnetic pull down handle to reach dishes for handwashing. Our backsplash subway tiles were installed by Tony, who made certain that the wall behind our new G.E. slide in stove was fully concealed; Tony's work was all measured to perfection. Our 60" Island is rectangular shaped with two beautiful drawers, cabinets underneath, and an outlet; opened up the space and made it functional. Extreme did an amazing job installing the granite countertops in Giallo Ornamental which made the kitchen look elegant when finished. The flooring in white oak came with a natural finish and the laundry room luxury flooring for moisture resistance. When the job was finished it needed tweaking, and the owners brother Mike and son, Mitchell came on two separate occasions to make certain that we were completely satisfied. Needless to say; We're very grateful to Creative for our beautiful kitchen remodel; during the holidays our family, neighbors and friends were all very impressed with the outstanding job done by Creative. We had Creative do our kitchen. Looks great. Remodeling is very challenging. Our salesman Todd was absolutely useless, once the sale was made, he was invisible. His card says "general manager", lol. Like the previous review, he never called back, we called him to see if he was going to follow up, only then did he make an appointment. There are always hiccups along the way, our carpenter/electrical & plumber (unlicensed) was pulled off our kitchen for a day to work on another job. When we did get in touch with the owner Jerry, he came out and made all necessary fixes. He was wonderful and very understanding. Would I recommend them, yes, as long as you understand they do not use licensed electrician or plumber, no permits pulled, and definitely if Appointment is set up with Todd, change for different salesman. BTW, we were told a week and a half to two week job ... took four weeks. read more
