This review is a little late but I couldn't not let u all know how amazing my experience at this shop was ! I ended up here because of the 5 star rating and left completely amazed. My daughter and I were greeted right away and introduced to their pet , which my daughter loved. They have a very convenient waiting area where I was able to get some school work done while I waited for my car to be serviced. I'm not an expert on cars but they explained everything to me very well and made sure I knew what they would be doing and what my car needed. Customer service exceeded my expectations. Terrible. Father and son misdiagnosed engine and told me a valve job would cost 3000. Turned out to be a damaged spark plug. Fixed for $100. Father and son tried to steal $2900 and Kept the car for a whole day and weekend to not check the plugs first as any regular mechanic would have. This place is amazing. Jim is the most down to earth, honest mechanic I've ever had. I've brought my car in several times for oil changes and they always do a complete safety check. Several times they've discovered things that needed fixing. But they always tell you what the issue is before doing anything, including price quotes. As for prices, they have the most reasonable rates around. When it comes to parts, they do their best to find the most affordable after market parts. No price gouging here. So happy to have found GOOD, HONEST, FRIENDLY mechanics, Jim & Lyle have won me over!!!! First, I took my daughters car (2011 Hyundai Sonata) to them with a problem that I had been told the dealer would not fix. Jim took the time to do some research and then gave me back the car (after checking all fluids and researching whether or not it required transmission service - I had said it did.) telling me to take it to the dealer - which I did and it was fixed for free!! Btw, Jim charged me nothing for what he did for me (which was save me $300-$400). Obviously, I took my next issue to him just this past week (my son's 1994 Ford Explorer). Lyle ran a scan as requested and found a problem with the Mass Air Flow Sensor and I approved the replacement work at around $300. An hour AFTER the had my approval Jim called me back to say they found the harness bad to the MAF and would only need to charge me $145 to have it back on the road. AMAZING morals and ethics is what I got when I tried this father/son team all because I was impressed with a SOLID 5.0 on yelp!!! So glad I did and have already planned on taking 2 other cars to them (2008 Chry. 300- Fuel injectors/tuneup & 2001 Infiniti - ReCharge AC.) Thanks guys!!! read more

I finally found an honest, capable mechanic!! NOTE: These guys have moved to 7528 Reseda Blvd. Reseda Ca 91335. Their number is 818.785.1522. I wanted to put that up front so people who are looking for them can find them. Ok, so these guys are have taken care of my BMW the last year and have never ripped me off. Once my coolant was leaking very badly and they said it was just a rubber seal and fixed it FOR FREE. Like it took them 2 minutes and 20 cents so they passed the savings onto me. Who does that? They said they have been in business 35 years (family owned and run by a father and son) and they stay in business by doing right by their customers. It was a throwback to a wonderful small town Mayberry vibe -- good people, hard workers, straight shooters. I am getting my windshield replaced right now and they are charging me almost half what my insurance company's mechanic quoted me. They aren't cheap with the hourly rate - 85 an hour (2015 prices) and they won't budge. But now I'm confident it's because they do good work and have to eat. I also feel confident they won't pad their hours. I have been ripped off one too many times by dealers and other mechanics who see a chick with a BMW and see dollar signs. Ugh, I'm over that. So I asked my friends in the valley and was told these guys are the real deal. Other things I like: In a pinch, they give me a ride back to my house. If they are too busy they can't, but they do what they can to help you out. Also for the record their name is Creative Automotive. Family ran (Father & Son) business w/a lot of integrity. My check engine light came on on my Toyota Camry & a friend/co-worker recommended me to them. @ first, the computer gave a lot of problem codes, so they cleared it & told me to come back as soon as it lit up again, if it did, to make it easier to narrow down what the issue was. Well, it lit back up four days later & I brought it back that same day. There were only a couple of problem codes this time & they narrowed it down to a very small issue that was causing the problem. They fixed it in a few minutes & sent me on my way w/out charging me a dime. Very cool. I would recommend them to anyone looking for honest guys that stand behind their work & reputation. read more

Decided to use Creative for a straightforward front brake job. Jim and Lyle are efficient, fair, and knowledgeable. They tried to keep my original rotors, but a machining would have left them below spec. They offered several options for both pad and rotors and we decided to stay with OEM parts. There have been a couple times when I would take my car in to the dealership for a recall to be told what else was needed on my car like for example brakes. Instead of paying dealership prices I went to Jim Weber, owner of the Creative Auto, and told him I needed new brakes. He lifted my car up, took off the wheels and asked me who said I needed new brakes because he said my brakes were just fine and didn't need to be replaced for probably another 6 months! He could have very easily changed them and charged me for new ones but he didn't. Having trust in your mechanic is priceless!
