I have had the same mechanic for over 15 years because he's good, but...I have found better. This is the best auto repair place "PERIOD"! Honest, fair, and sometimes more than fair! Jim and his son Lyle have a passion for what they do and it sure shows. Just a GREAT family business with great people skills. They even bring their dog to work sometimes! If you want a mechanic you can trust THIS IS THE PLACE...PERIOD!!! They are at 7528 Reseda Blvd. in Reseda 91335 read more

Today was a good day. Creative was recommended to me my a friend. He said they were honest, communicative, and knew their stuff. I'm so happy I took his advice. For the first time in ages I felt really good leaving my car with a mechanic. I just got home and after some drama with another shop, pulling up stakes mid fix is hard, but I didn't want to throw good money after bad. I'd bite the bullet and switch doctors. Edris took me in today as a walkin at 7;45. The doors were open and they were up and running. I always take a look around a new shop, and this one was clean and organized. Edris explained my issues along with my choices including timelines. He didn't try to scare me, but I believe serving the customer was in my best interest. I'll continue to make Creative Automotive Engineering by 1st call from now on. Let's see how it goes. They act and say what we, as a vulnerable customer, wants to hear. Again, it was a really good day. Thanks. read more

Thanks again guys. New struts installed after my off-road adventure and back on the road thanks Jim and Lyle. Go team Webber! read more

This review is a little late but I couldn't not let u all know how amazing my experience at this shop was ! I ended up here because of the 5 star rating and left completely amazed. My daughter and I were greeted right away and introduced to their pet , which my daughter loved. They have a very convenient waiting area where I was able to get some school work done while I waited for my car to be serviced. I'm not an expert on cars but they explained everything to me very well and made sure I knew what they would be doing and what my car needed. Customer service exceeded my expectations. Definitely recommend! read more

Jim is absolutely the best and most honest and capable mechanic I have ever had the pleasure to bring my vehicles to. For about 20 years he has done nothing but great work on my cars. read more

I recently met Jim and Lyle when they were able to take in my son's car for brakes on short notice and get it back to him the same afternoon. I recently brought my truck in for service too. It's nice to meet friendly mechanics with knowledge who seem to value your business. read more

I have been coming here for at least 10 years. Somebody recommended this place to me 10 years ago as an HONEST mechanic that does GOOD QUALITY work for very affordable prices. That has been my experience with them for these past 10 years. Having your car break down can be a very stressful, chaotic situation for most of us, and I feel that I can personally count on creative auto to make the best out of a bad situation every time. My radiator hose had a leak and I took it in this past week, Lyle is the mechanic that helped me. He was super professional and so helpful. He answered all of my questions that I had and gave me so much good advice for my car (I have an older model). I wasn't expecting that ! I totally recommend creative auto ! Ask for Lyle. Terrible. Father and son misdiagnosed engine and told me a valve job would cost 3000. Turned out to be a damaged spark plug. Fixed for $100. Father and son tried to steal $2900 and Kept the car for a whole day and weekend to not check the plugs first as any regular mechanic would have. Worst part is the car was returned to me with a flat tire. read more

Fair deals and great customer service!

This is the best auto shop!!! Never going anywhere else ! Being a female I am always nervous to take my car anywhere :( They are family owned and have been in bussiness for a long time. Their great costumer service made me feel very comfortable ! Dropped my car off they called me back with the pricing to get approval & it was done quick! My car feels brand new ! They also have a cute pup that greets you! 5 star quality read more

Jim and Lyle at Creative Auto give me the peace of mind you don't normally get when you bring your car to a mechanic. They're honest, fair priced and have a quick turn around on whatever you need to get done! Also, supporting family owned business is ALWAYS better than supporting corporations. read more

I haven't even got my car repaired here and I already feel so appreciated. These guys are really honest and down to earth, answered all my questions and concerns. I will be coming back for my next service and with their honesty and down to earth attitude they have earned a return customer. read more

This place is amazing. Jim is the most down to earth, honest mechanic I've ever had. I've brought my car in several times for oil changes and they always do a complete safety check. Several times they've discovered things that needed fixing. But they always tell you what the issue is before doing anything, including price quotes. As for prices, they have the most reasonable rates around. When it comes to parts, they do their best to find the most affordable after market parts. No price gouging here. They are also extremely nice to boot. My brother recommended this place to me and I highly recommend it to everyone else. read more

I finally found an honest, capable mechanic!! NOTE: These guys have moved to 7528 Reseda Blvd. Reseda Ca 91335. Their number is 818.785.1522. I wanted to put that up front so people who are looking for them can find them. Ok, so these guys are have taken care of my BMW the last year and have never ripped me off. Once my coolant was leaking very badly and they said it was just a rubber seal and fixed it FOR FREE. Like it took them 2 minutes and 20 cents so they passed the savings onto me. Who does that? They said they have been in business 35 years (family owned and run by a father and son) and they stay in business by doing right by their customers. It was a throwback to a wonderful small town Mayberry vibe -- good people, hard workers, straight shooters. I am getting my windshield replaced right now and they are charging me almost half what my insurance company's mechanic quoted me. They aren't cheap with the hourly rate - 85 an hour (2015 prices) and they won't budge. But now I'm confident it's because they do good work and have to eat. I also feel confident they won't pad their hours. I have been ripped off one too many times by dealers and other mechanics who see a chick with a BMW and see dollar signs. Ugh, I'm over that. So I asked my friends in the valley and was told these guys are the real deal. Other things I like: In a pinch, they give me a ride back to my house. If they are too busy they can't, but they do what they can to help you out. Also for the record their name is Creative Automotive. I hope they figure out how to change their info online because these are the good ones you want folks to find! read more

So happy to have found GOOD, HONEST, FRIENDLY mechanics, Jim & Lyle have won me over!!!! First, I took my daughters car (2011 Hyundai Sonata) to them with a problem that I had been told the dealer would not fix. Jim took the time to do some research and then gave me back the car (after checking all fluids and researching whether or not it required transmission service - I had said it did.) telling me to take it to the dealer - which I did and it was fixed for free!! Btw, Jim charged me nothing for what he did for me (which was save me $300-$400). Obviously, I took my next issue to him just this past week (my son's 1994 Ford Explorer). Lyle ran a scan as requested and found a problem with the Mass Air Flow Sensor and I approved the replacement work at around $300. An hour AFTER the had my approval Jim called me back to say they found the harness bad to the MAF and would only need to charge me $145 to have it back on the road. AMAZING morals and ethics is what I got when I tried this father/son team all because I was impressed with a SOLID 5.0 on yelp!!! So glad I did and have already planned on taking 2 other cars to them (2008 Chry. 300- Fuel injectors/tuneup & 2001 Infiniti - ReCharge AC.) Thanks guys!!! read more

Such great service here!! Jim and Lyle came highly recommended and they definitely did not disappoint! They were honest, kind, patient, understanding, and not at all like a stereotypical mechanic. They went above and beyond and were wonderful! I will definitely be returning! read more

Creative Auto's auto repair and customer service is as good as it gets. My sister-in laws car was broken, Jim arranged to meet us there early and got it done in one day. It was a big deal! read more

Great shop. Very knowledgeable mechanic who only does the work required. Priced fairly - not cheaply - but the value comes from getting the right service done the first time around. They're very busy, and it seems to be for good reason. Also, they have an adorable and very friendly Pitbull who greets all the customers. I've found my new local shop! read more

This place is great! I had my truck serviced here last week and they did a fantastic job. They got the job done quickly and at a fraction of the cost that the dealership would charge. All the employees were also very friendly. They just became my new go to mechanic. I highly recommend them. read more

Family ran (Father & Son) business w/a lot of integrity. My check engine light came on on my Toyota Camry & a friend/co-worker recommended me to them. @ first, the computer gave a lot of problem codes, so they cleared it & told me to come back as soon as it lit up again, if it did, to make it easier to narrow down what the issue was. Well, it lit back up four days later & I brought it back that same day. There were only a couple of problem codes this time & they narrowed it down to a very small issue that was causing the problem. They fixed it in a few minutes & sent me on my way w/out charging me a dime. Very cool. I would recommend them to anyone looking for honest guys that stand behind their work & reputation. read more

Just got out from using them the first time and I can see why people keep coming back. Good honest hardworking people. Only suggest what needs to get fixed immediately, but what to look at for the future and what to watch out for and know about your vehicle. Thanks again! I'll see you at the 75K mark for those spark plugs. read more

All the positive reviews of Creative Automotive Engineering are spot on! I had gone to two different mechanics and felt I could not trust either one of them, one of them being the dealership that represented the make of my automobile. Once I came to Creative Automotive Engineering I felt comfortable with Jim and Lyle! They take time to communicate with their customers and genuinely give you the necessary help to fix your car without trying to sell you a bunch of stuff you don't need! Trust is everything! I trust CAE with my car! They are excellent mechanics! read more

I have been doing business with Creative Automotive Engineering for over 10 years and am proud to call them "My Mechanic"! There have been a couple times when I would take my car in to the dealership for a recall to be told what else was needed on my car like for example brakes. Instead of paying dealership prices I went to Jim Weber, owner of the Creative Auto, and told him I needed new brakes. He lifted my car up, took off the wheels and asked me who said I needed new brakes because he said my brakes were just fine and didn't need to be replaced for probably another 6 months! He could have very easily changed them and charged me for new ones but he didn't. Having trust in your mechanic is priceless! I recommend giving them a try if you're looking for a reliable mechanic! read more
