Had my 2019 Audi Q5 towed here due to a completely dead battery, if you have an Audi you'll know it's not like other cars on this issue. Five stars isn't enough for the response, coordination and work they did! Of course they replaced the battery and reset everything; but also send a comprehensive review of all systems on 40 different points color coded from urgent to non-urgent to passed - via text. This Shop is immaculate!!! The staff is SUPER FRIENDLY AND FAIR. They provide the best quality products and services of a dealership without the high cost! A Dealership was going to charge me an arm and a leg for something BAVARIAN WORKSHOP fixed and advised me that only cost about a quarter of the amount to repair, they are Certified Factory Trained Master Technicians of their craft, everything was done perfectly with excellent time management and quality. Honest and kind! Came here because it's nearby and was having issues with my x5. They inspected the vehicle for us and were honest with their opinion that they wouldn't put in the money into this car unfortunately as there are many things wrong. I had an check engine light issue with a new to me Mercedes SUV. I was a walk in after searching for a good MB shop. It was pretty clear this was the right place as the team was hard at work on other customers vehicles. I met with Trevor and explained what the issue was. We scheduled a drop off for early the following week as I could see they were slammed. I dropped the vehicle off and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't a catastrophic issue - just a few seals. Trevor is great mechanic and listens to the customer to get to the problem and that is great to see. I highly recommend this shop for any work if you cannot do it yourself. I read some of the reviews on Yelp which maybe me a bit scared to visit Bavarian Workshop. But ultimately being a car guy the reviews I read just sounded like inexperienced people whining about nothing. I took my brand new 2021 BMW M2 Competition to Bavarian unannounced and without an appointment. I have to admit that I was very excited to get my new wheels put on the car as they just arrived with UPS. When I arrived I was greeted by a very professional young man by the name of Trevor. You could just tell that he was very kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable person. I asked him if he would consider taking away my old wheels and putting on my new wheels and without any question he said yes. I asked him how much he said $40 which I thought was very reasonable. I was very concerned about the socket he would use because I was afraid it could scratch my new wheels. He told me not to worry and even showed me that the socket that they use is coated with plastic to prevent any wheels from getting scratched. I was instantly relieved. Once he was finished which I might add it took him about 25/30 minutes. I went to go pay my bill. He told me not to worry about the money and that he enjoys helping out members of the west Hills community such as myself. I was very shocked when he said this and I didn't really know how to respond other than I insisted that he allow me to at least give him $40. It's very rare these days that someone would do something like that especially for community. Once I paid him he told me he would use the money to buy the rest of the technicians lunch for the day. I'm very happy with my experience and if you are a BMW enthusiast such as myself please ignore the comments and reviews from the few that are attempting to bring down an excellent European repair shop. I'd also like to thank Erin who is one of the technicians there, he helped me load my old wheels into my SUV without even me asking him. Trevor is a godsend. I have already recommended this place to everyone that will listen, and I will continue to sing their praises. I have a 2018 440i that just came out of warranty. It started blowing black smoke from the tail pipes after an admittedly too long idle with the air on. I had it towed to the local dealership that I bought it from and where it has been serviced the whole time. They said it was the valve cover, $4400. I have driven by Bavarian Workshop for years and checked the reviews. I called, explained the problem and was quoted a mere fraction of the dealership price. I then had the car towed there, they fully examined it for 2 days and could find nothing wrong. Nothing! Nada! I went into Bavarian Workshop right at 8am one morning to see if they could take my car in to get fixed. I had the engine light on and my EPC light was flashing on and off. I was told they didn't have any availability, but Trevor was nice enough to check it out anyway. He said I just didn't have much oil in the car and went ahead and filled my oil up on the spot and said have a good day without charging me a dime. Exact same cost as the dealership, just a little more thorough service. Will tell you certain things are wrong when in actuality nothing is wrong. Be sure to get different estimates from other shops before dealing with this place. Also they'll tell you your car will be done at 5 pm Monday, but won't be out til 12:30 pm on Tuesday. Only go here if you're fine with paying 100% full price, and waiting to get serviced. The quality of the work and parts used is great though. read more

Took my car in because caution alerts showing on dash, A diagnostic was done and I was told I needed a battery, I consented to the work, battery was installed I was told I needed a few other things that totaled 7,000. I declined other work and was on the way to pick up my car and was told car wouldn't start up, and they will put old battery back in and not charge me, duh why would I pay for a battery I don't have. Came to pick up my car, and it had to be towed to my house. One other thing that bothered me was the mechanic Trevor said my car had not been touched, as in no previous maintenance done on my car, I have kept up with all maintenance needed and other minor work. I have a regular mechanic but he's a bit far away and I was willing to have someone else look at the caution alerts until I was able to get to my mechanic, now I'll have to have it towed to my mechanic costing God knows what. One star for not charging me for the diagnostic, that maybe out guilt for returning the car inoperable. read more

I have to be honest when I say this is the worst service I have ever experienced, and I would give them no stars if I could so the one is a gift. My girlfriend brought her 330ci in for a tech inspection prior to a Button Willow track day with the BMW Club. The owner Marc Norris told her that there is an oil leak from the dip stick and the o-ring needed to be replaced. He also told her that oil had dripped on to the control arm bushing causing them to need to be replaced. Marc advised that these items need to be resolved before he'll sign off on the tech form. It was Thursday and the track day was Friday. He provided her with an estimate around $500 or so. She called the local BMW and found out that she can get the parts for $100 she went back to Marc with information and he told that he'll do it for a little over $150. She agreed. Later she discovered that he meant $150 just for the bushings not for everything as she previously understood. After some back and forth activity they settled on a price around $350. Around 2 o'clock or so, he discovered a crack in the windshield. The crack was about 2" long and was located on the passenger side upper corner of the glass. He said that would need to be repaired in addition before the tech form can be completed. Fortunately he knew a place that could replace for the window for around $280. Left with no other option she reluctantly agreed. The window company showed up at like four a clock and broke the new window performing the installation. Now there is not a 2" crack on the passenger side corner, but a giant star crack in the center of the passenger side of the window. Not only that, but the glass company broke the old window taking it out so there was no going back. So we now found ourselves out $500 with a car that appeared visually to be worse off than when we started. The time was now 5 o'clock or so and the glass company is unable to get a replacement from window until 8 AM the next morning. With us leaving for Button Willow at 6 AM that wouldn't work out. I do have to credit Marc as doing what he could as he did call the chief instructor of the driving school and explained the situation which got us approval to run the car damaged as is. While not the best solution we really had no opinion and were grateful for what he did. The next morning on our way to the track you could hear the crack in the window shifting, to the point that it was scary to keep driving the car. We exited the 5 Fwy around McBean Pkwy to perform some adhoc fixes on the window. Using gray duct tape and blue painters tape I secured the window the best I could and believe it or not it was a 200% improvement. Later that day at the track we were black flagged our first session out due to a large blue\black cloud of smoke billowing from underneath the chassis of the car. I found a shop at the track "7s Only" that was more than willing to help. The lifted the car and there was oil all over the underside of the car (So much for fixing that oil leak, thanks Marc). After 1 1/2 hours of trouble shooting the guys at "7s Only" were able to stop the leak and get us back out on the track. Amazing guys that have never seen under the hood of a BMW in their life and primarily work on Mazda RX-7s could fix an oil leak and the Bavarian Workshop with all their years of experience could not. My girlfriend and I each missed one of our 30 minute track sessions that we paid over $100 for that day and had one of the most tiring and horrible track experiences ever. In the end the oil leak ended up being a bent dipstick tube and not the dipstick tube o-ring that was replaced by the Bavarian Workshop. The window was so horrible that we had it replaced by Safelite at the track shortly after the event for half the cost and they came to us. Due to the issues encountered Marc installed the new dipstick tube we purchased from the dealer at no charge. Apparently, he has this issue about people watch him and his employees work. He told my girlfriend that the reason they broke the window is because we were watching them and it made them nervous. I have been working on my own BMWs for 9 years now and have had audiences between 0 and 10 people at any given time watching me work. If this is an issue with him or his employees, it something they need to get over, or find some other line of work As a BMW enthusiast, I am probably a mechanics worst nightmare when it comes to fixing my car as I do 98% of my own maintenance and repairs. So I would say that I do have high expectations if I take my car to a shop. But, am I asking too much to not have them break my window or to fix an oil leak that I paid to have fixed? Neither of us will ever be going back here again.... read more

I had Marc install some new performance parts that I purchased elsewhere. He didn't give me any problems with that whereas many shops would have complained about the loss of potential profits. However, he made up all that lost money by charging top dollar for the labor and an alignment. Never got an alignment printout with my receipt and paperwork, and didn't get my stock parts back either. About 6 months later, I was taking apart the front suspension to install coilovers and found a small front strut assembly mistake that his tech had left behind when he worked on my car. Not a big deal, but at the same time not acceptable at that price either. read more

Took a used BMW there for a mechanical checkup over before purchase. Staff was friendly and professional. Allowed me to observe and explained the process. They found a number of issues, explained them to me and provided context for why they happened, whether it was expected or unexpected for a car of this age and milage, and let me know the consequences of fixing or not fixing the issue, and when it needed to be fixed by. I ended up deciding to buy the car and used this information to negotiate a small discount on the car. I will revise this review in the future if I encounter any major issues they missed, if I haven't you can assume they caught everything. Review is being written July 2011 so I should have a good idea by October 2011 of anything they missed. read more

I don't quite know the circumstances for the negative experiences of others...and it also seems to be a while... I had a great experience with Skip, Marc and Dave. They were all very friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. This is on a SMG clutch issue on a 06 M5. BMW is vague on the diagnostic codes and it could be the clutch and more expensive other things. But as Marc, said, his gut feel was its the clutch and it was. I highly recommend the guys at Bavarian. They run a clean and professional shop with the BMW expertise. Went there recently and was taken aback by their high prices. $300 fee for diagnosis. Initially I agreed because I really needed my car to be fixed. After a week and not hearing back I called to see what is going on. They said they had not found the issue and that "more time is more money". The way he said that really took me aback and I believe their sole motive is money and nothing else. Very disappointed. I took my car back and went to the dealership instead. They found the issue and their diagnostic fee was $170 which goes into the total for the repair. You only pay the diagnostic fee if you decide not to repair your car. Do not bring your car here unless you want to be scammed. read more

My Audi Q7 was due for service and since I live in the area I thought I'd give them a try. He told me 3 days ago that the service and inspection would cost $140 out the door and when I came back it was $640 now cuz he said "that's what the computer said" I even went there to show the car beforehand and he was firm with the lower price.
