I love that they will accommodate me being a gluten free patron. They even remember our order and always serve it up fast and delicious. We have gotten take out many times and were happy when they opened up for dining. We either talk Annie on the phone or see Annie quite a bit and she always smiles and welcomes us. Was excited to go try out this new sushi place with friends, especially since we had a 50% off the ENTIRE BILL coupon mailed to us for their grand opening.. We had 4 small children with us. It took us about 15 minutes just to get the water served to us and another 35 minutes to get the sushi rolls. The sushi rolls were okay but the service could use a lot of improvement. Not a place to go with young children who do not have the patience to wait. We will NOT be returning to this place simply because they did not honor the 50% coupon they have mailed out and said that the sushi rolls were already 50% off and they can't take the 50% off the bill even thought that is exactly what the coupon says! "50% off entire bill" grand opening special. After arguing with the server who claimed there was no manager or the owner around who we can talk to we left very frustrated. Their coupons and marketing are completely misleading. I have never felt so violated at a restaurant in this area. We went in for dinner after I heard about the 50% off the entire bill (including alcohol!) deal. Let's just say that "Crazy" pretty much sums this place up! We walked in and the front lobby area was packed with people. I walked up to the hostess stand, but there was nobody to be found. We finally figured out that you had to write your name on a piece of computer paper posted up front. As people filtered in and out (some leaving frustrated before even eating), the crowd finally cleared somewhat, but the phone continued to ring off the hook unanswered. We began to wonder if we were ever going to get seated, but we finally did. The decor of the restaurant is very nice, and the three of us got seated in a little room toward the back. We ordered a pitcher of Sapporo and a bottle of soju. The beer was cold and drinks came out fast. However, the soju they served (jinro) is not a very good quality soju. I know that soju is not high end drink, but this one tastes like a mixture of nail polish remover and poison. The chum churum brand is much smoother...however, we managed to finish this bottle anyway. The stuffed jalapeno app that we ordered tasted really good, but the filling was just rice and cream cheese, so there isn't a whole lot to it--we were still starving! The Yuri roll was our favorite item of the night--lots of fresh fish and lemon, but some of the lemon chunks were too big to eat so we picked them off. The Fantastic roll had tempura calamari inside which sounded good, but was a little too chewy for being in a roll. Also, it was topped with a big mound of finely shredded bonito flake, which had the consistency of hair as I ate it! The sashimi was poorly cut, so the fish that is normally very tender (e.g. red tuna and salmon) were chewy and fibrous. I was definitely aware of the fact that I was chewing on a chunk of raw meat as I tried to work my way through it! I gave up after a couple pieces. Service was friendly, but everyone seemed very confused. They would bring out a roll and just call it out to the general vicinity, so you had to pay attention so that you could claim your food! I hate giving negative reviews, but I'm hoping things will improve as time goes on. I think it has potential! read more

Usually my sushi joint is Arigato but since they were having water issues, decided to try something new. Bad mistake. Crazy sushi is horrible. Waited 5 min to be acknowledged at the door for seating. After waiting 15 min for our drink orders we went ahead and ordered with the drinks. Sushi was mostly rice, real skimpy on the fish. Um...no. No, no and....no. The parking is plentiful at this shared mall parking lot, and the restaurant is in the corner of the mall. We came here 1 hour 20 minutes before a movie at the nearby theatre. Almost everything about this restaurant was a bad experience. Seating: Waited until sushi chef told us to seat ourselves and than a waitress tried to seat us near the door with freezing cold air but we got her to move us to the back of the restaurant. Told waitress we had a movie to get to. Plates: Were never served plates, had to ask for them, one was served with dried food on it. Water: Was never served or offered, no signs about drought conservation on table, so we assumed it was coming. Waitresses: Two for the whole restaurant, to wait, serve and bus on a busy Friday night. It was 15 minutes AFTER we closed our menus that someone took our order and an HOUR before we got our first roll and customers who came after us were served. We had to ask for everything - tea, our food in 5 minutes or the bill so we could catch our movie and our bill after they threw out food together but forgot our bill. The waitress apologized to us five times, three times as she gave us the bill (nice try honey but too late) Food: Mediocre to poor. Ginger had been prepared far in advance of dinner on the dishes and and was partially dry, seaweed salad was dry and our rolls were done in such s hurry, they were squashed closed instead of being round. Tea was weak. In review, shame on management for not hiring more help - it was unfair to the staff and customers to have such little help and poor service. My husband and I went for an early dinner after the movies. The place looks great. The food was descent and the prices were very reasonable. However, I do agree with other yelpers that the service needs help! To preface this, we went for an EARLY dinner, so this place was NOT busy whatsoever. There were maybe 2 or 3 other tables in there only. We had the sashimi combo and there was this really yummy melt-in-your-mouth butterfish, to which when I asked the waitress what it was, she was clueless. Fine, that's ok, but she also didn't care either way that we complimented the food. The waitress HARDLY came by our table and just had this 'whatever" attitude. One criticism about the food - NO NEED TO ADD SIRACHA SAUCE ON SASHIMI!! Totally ruins the taste! we had to scrape the siracha off the butter fish and the red snapper pieces. The worst part was what we witnessed. There was a table of 2 women that had their menus down and obviously ready to order while one of the waitress was up at the cash register doing something (not ringing up customers) and the other waitress was no where to be seen. These customers got up and walked out just as I was telling my husband that I noticed those women had been ready to order for ages. Then, as my husband and I walked out, there was another party that left at the same time and the woman who paid for the meal was clearly unhappy about the service as she was complaining very loudly about the service in the parking lot. I think this place has potential. It's new, so maybe they're still getting the hang of things. I remember when Blue Nami first opened and their service was pretty bad too (not as bad as Crazy Sushi though). My new favorite sushi spot! After visiting the Crazy Sushi in Elk Grove, I was excited to find out that there was a location near me and it was just as good. Their rolls are 50%...which just means they mark up the price and then give you have off that price all time time.,but either way, they are cheap! and so yummy. A lot of their rolls are spicy, which makes me like this place even more because I think that everything tastes better with a little Siracha. My favorite roll is the crazy spicy, yum, and it is definitely spicy. So far I have not had a roll that i didn't enjoy. Even their edamame is better than most places; they sprinkle it with Parmesan cheese (I think) . In addition to this place having great food, the decor is nice and the employees are super friendly. Actually, most of the employees came over from Tokyo Dori which (as you could guess from my 70+ check-ins) was another of my faves. read more

Seem to have forgotten how to run a business! Put our name on the list at 7:45pm and were told it would be a 45min wait. Checked in after 45mins, was told it would be another 15min. Saw 3 parties leave, waited a few more minutes and checked in again. Now they say they csn seat us but it will be 45min until we would get our food. What?? Why did they not tell us that BEFORE we waited over an hour? "Well...we've had a lot of call in orders tonight and are super busy." Your in-person customers should take precedence over your call in orders. What if I had not come in to check on our table? Would they even have bothered to tell us? You have to be CRAZY to eat here more than once. The little plates were FILTHY, every single one of them had food stuck on them, even the soy sauce saucers. Fish tasted fishy and the batter sucked. Ended up going here with a bunch of families at 9pm (when the place closed at 10. We called ahead to make sure they could accommodate us. The staff was friendly and professional - despite the fact that we were probably a little annoying with multiple orders and bills. Parties were split up around the room. They took it all in stride! The private dining area at the back was nice, and perfect for us! The food was fresh and delicious. I had two of their house rolls. A spicy tuna special one, and a 911 roll. Yum! DH had a bowl of assorted sashimi and it looked amazing! DS had sesame chicken, and got a big bowl of chicken over rice. Prices are a little higher compared to similar places. Our bill was $75 for the 3 of us - sashimi, 2 house rolls, and the sesame chicken. Won't complain much though because it was good, and the service was great! read more

Here's the problem there is no GREAT place intro have sushi in Roseville...I went here with my wife last night pretty late and we had just left Sushi Ninja in Lincoln. We were craving some sushi and were desperate to get some quality seafood. Our normal place PK Sushi has completely gone done in quality and service. Last night it could of been part starvation, but this place hit the mark. We were greeted immediately and sat right down at the sushi bar and from there everything started rolling...the waitresses were on point and ensured we had our drinks and were very attentive. The sushi chefs were fun to talk with and made recommendations on what to order. One thing I liked is that our sushi chef said if you don't see something on the menu I will make you whatever you want. This to me shows good quality of service for a place. If I was to of read through all of the comments before eating here I might of thought twice, but maybe hings have changed. I know everyone raves about Mukini and what a great place that is, but this place is a truly Sushi restaurant with a full menu and all the fresh fresh. This is a local chain apparently since there is another location in Lincoln. We ordered a bunch of sushi to go, the sushi was just okay; for some reason it's better at the other location. The 50% off is definitely a gimmick since the rolls are pretty small. The reason I'm giving this place two stars is because the restaurant is absolutely filthy! It reeks of mildew and dirty dishwater or something. The carpets are stained and look like they've never been cleaned and have suffered years and years of abuse. Even the chairs and tables were disgustingly sticky. I tried so hard not to touch anything. You can smell that they are not using clean water/rags to wipe anything down. We went here today for Mother's Day and I had read reviews before coming here for our first time. I was a little nervous about the reviews saying the service was bad, but the service was fine and we actually weren't crazy about Crazy Sushi. My first impression of the place was that it was trying too hard to be a sushi place and maybe it will be one someday when it grows up, but for now it was just a little too wannabe. We ordered hot tea and instead of coming in small tea cups, they came in mugs that were the size of props on the set of Friends in the 90s. It was a little awkward with the small table and the cups taking up a quarter of the real estate. One of our favorite dishes to order at other sushi restaurants is BBQ tuna. We decided to split an order of it because it was 13.95 for one dish. What came to the table LOOKED like a mountain of food and we thought we understood the pricing. However it was simply the same few pieces smothered in sauce which didn't look that appetizing served over a mountain of shredded daikon. The sauce was not nearly as delicious as sauces that should be paired with tuna and it was much too fishy and not buttery like other good bbq tuna we have had. I ordered the Crunchy California and my friend ordered the Lily roll. She liked the Lily roll and hers looked like a normal serving of sushi roll. Mine came buried underneath the 'crunchy' bits of tempura mixed with unagi sauce. I have a favorite roll that is lightly coated with tempura bits, but this was ridiculous. Again it seemed like they were putting a lot of extra on the plate that was unnecessary. I would not go back here and it just made me miss my regular sushi place, so now I need a do-over at a real sushi place. read more

My fav place in the area! I've been coming to this location about once a month for the last year and a half. Yes, the service is not the best. BUT find me a sushi joint in the roseville/rocklin area with great service, I dare you! lol (with the exception of Mikuni). I bring co-workers and friends here all the time with almost exclusively very positive experiences. Now, self-named server "Sweet Sue/ Sassy Sue/ Beautiful Sue" has remembered me every time from the start and my guest names every time. she always makes a fun experience for us. Rolls could come out faster and more attention over the dining experience could be better. If Sue Left i would drop to 3-stars Rolls are awesome, I've had most of them and they're always delicious. Fish has been very good and never had any issues (unlike Blue-Nami)... Best Lion King roll in the area hands down BTW :) Price is great. decor and design is great. Just a very average experience. I dined in, and was not impressed with much. Yes the atmosphere was nice, but I came for the food not a nice culture. The sushi was ok, it didn't taste very good. The sauces over powered the actual rolls. If I wasn't so hungry I wouldn't have finished them. The only reason why I have an extra star in my review is because my glass of water was full for a majority of my visit. Although the rolls are 50% it isn't worth sending any sort of money when the rolls aren't even good. There are plenty of other great quality sushi places that have 50% off rolls. This is another option for 50% off sushi rolls in the Roseville area. The restaurant is tucked in the corner behind the Blue Oaks movie theater and Lazer Tag spot. The décor is really extravagant and has the feel of a lounge or club. The food was adequate with the regular staples that all sushi restaurants have--appetizers, bento boxes, rolls. I can't even remember the name of the roll that I ordered but it was a basic tempura shrimp roll with crab mix and topped with salmon and a lemon. I added cream cheese into it because I love that stuff. It was good. Also split the 12 piece sashimi combo with An-Nhien L. This came with a miso soup and a side salad. The salmon was bomb but tuna tasted not so fresh. Service was sub-par as our server took forever to bring out wasabi and was not around much. I wouldn't mind returning here in the future if someone suggested it but definitely not my go-to sushi spot. read more

My family and I went to Crazy Sushi for dinner. It was after the dinner rush so there were only a few tables in the restaurant. It took forever for someone to take our order. I was starting to get frustrated. They did finally take our order after about 25 minutes. The Server was very nice, but not very organized. The food was pretty good and the interior was nice. I had ordered food to go previously and had a really good experience. I came in, ordered and was offered a cup of tea (complimentary) and they were very nice and fast. The most SORRY A#% Sushi place I have ever been. First, when I ordered my drink (green tea), just out of the blue the server, made a comment saying "it is so hot why are you ordering hot tea?" I was stunned and just stared at her. I was like, just get my drink and don't spoil my Friday night...GET !!! Service was slowwww. Almost done with all the foods that we ordered, we realized we were missing one. I followed up about that food and the chef approached our table apologizing that they were out of that dish. So he recommends nigiri salmon roe and i said yes why not. The chef himself served that nigiri. When i saw them i knew there was something wrong. The eggs were crashed and not shiny or glossy, so it got me thinking, they are not fresh. I used my fork, and tried an egg in my mouth. Golly!!! The nigiri salmon roe are just not fresh....they are spoiled rotten!!! So, i called the server and handed back over the nigiri to give them back to the chef....let him eat 'em. Very unrespectful to your paying customers. You should know better. THIS RESTAURANT DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE PRICEY FOR THEY HAVE A VERY INCONSISTENT AWFUL QUALITY OF FOOD. read more

I was incredibly stoked to check this place out, being that it's right by my house and sushi is AWESOME. First experience there, we walk in and the place is empty and we had to wait a good 3 minutes before anyone acknowledged us standing there... We then sit and were 1 of 2 tables in the whole restaurant and the service is slow as can be, waiting too long for drinks and literally 27 minutes for our food to get to the table... with 2 tables in the restaurant! I decided to give the place another chance a couple months later, by ordering to-go. Girl answers the phone, I state my request and she carries on in a conversation in the background for a good 30 seconds without acknowledging me once! I hung up. Being in the service industry, I was disgusted. Doesn't deserve a 3rd chance in hell. I am a committed sushi eater and know what good is, and I am much happier driving the extra few miles to Arigato or Blue Nami. At least they know how it's done. read more

I was worried after reading the reviews here, but my 9 year old thought CRAZY sushi was a place we really needed to try. :) We went for lunch on a Monday, me and two kids. The place is nice inside, we were seated within a minute of walking in the door. Our waitress was great, cheerful and attentive. The sushi was pretty standard for the area, though we only tried three rolls. The lemon salmon roll was very good (if you like rolls with sauces), the spicy tuna was good as well, though not as spicy as some might like it. We also had the rainbow roll, it was tasty. One little extra that set this place apart was that our waitress mentioned a Japanese melon soda, and my 12 year old tried it. It was weird, in that you push a glass ball into the glass bottle to start the fizzing. The waitress showed us how to do it and waited while we tried it. It was a fun, unexpected extra. I'm always a little irritated at the permanently half-off rolls menus that seem to be ubiquitous now, but I guess that's more a personal pet peeve than anything. read more
