And, forget about being able to recharge all your devices at once (being an older building, there very few easily accessible outlets). But, if you want a place that is clean and comfortable, and the staff nice, then this is a good place to lay your head for the night. While this small (only 12 or so rooms) motel is a bit out dated, it's one if the cleanest places that I've ever stayed at (eby - even before Yelp :-D ). The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is the standard Continental affair. Being old school (or, maybe just old, ugh), I was surprised that being an independent place, they didn't have cash discounts. So, to me, the price of $96 seems a bit high to me for a bare-bones place like this. Also, something they do that I wasn't happy to see: they write your c/c and CVV numbers down in case of damage to the room. I just hope they destroy it to where it can't be used. Now, I gotta watch my card more closely.

The motel is well-appointed, with recently renovated "deluxe" rooms as well as regular rooms. I've only stayed in the deluxe rooms, which were very comfortable and perfectly clean. All rooms share a large covered deck between them and the parking lot, providing great shelter in bad weather and a nice place to sit and chill in good weather. There is ample parking with room for larger vehicles and trailers. The motel is pet friendly and chargers a modest $15 pet fee. Be sure to let them know if you have a pet when you're booking. Staff is very friendly and the housekeeper even shared a story about how the motel was the filming site of the movie The Horse Whisperer. Cool!

Later, 6 weeks prior to our visit had to cancel and never got deposit refunded. When we called regarding the deposit we were told that deposits were non-refundable. Remember I was NEVER asked for a deposit so now they have $200 deposit that wasn't asked for in the first place. Everyone needs to be aware of this policy because I sure wasn't informed. We had a small RV and they we're very accommodating. Check in was easy - all done via SMS and a door code. I didn't book soon enough to get rooms in the new section. Mistake #2 The hot springs are indeed hot. There are three pools. We only used the two outside as they were plenty hot enough for our group. I did not acclimate to the sulphur smell but sounds like most people do. The pools seemed dirty despite being drained each night. The stained liner added to the appearance of poor upkeep. And the swarming mosquitoes (not the hotel's fault, obviously) made our time there miserable. The staff person who checked us in was disinterested and unhelpful. The rooms were clean but otherwise awful. I'm not opposed to old but unkept is another story. The laminated furniture was bubbled up all over the place. The carpet was literally coming up at the edges and missing in places. The bathroom window had no covering with a two story building just across the way. The shower curtain in the RV sized shower was too short so basically ineffectual. Lightbulbs were out and the provided travel sized toiletries were random. Should we decide to try the hot springs again, we'll be looking at other options in town. The convenience of staying on site isn't worth it.

The waitress intentionally went about clearing tables, washing glasses and refused to wait on us. After about 20 minutes we realized she was not interested in helping us. When we got up to leave she continued to be rude. I will never go back. People like that should not be in the "service" industry. We have been stopping g there for years. The bartender was very nice but this woman ruined our afternoon.
