I've been going here since I was 13 ! Now You spend more time riding lifts than going down the mountain ! The staff is rude and Im just over wasting my time and money on this mountain. I've been buying season passes for a long time but now they seem no longer worth it ! I'll travel further to go somewhere else ! This place sucks for seasoned snowboarders, ruined by excessive moguls everywhere and rude customer service. The lift operators have a serious chip on there shoulder and seem to be from out of country !!! I'm JUST DONE WITH THIS PLACE. read more

Showdown is the most basic skiing experience. It's simply a great hill, with great snow, a nearly private hill/experience on weekdays and Very small crowds on weekends. While decidedly more level 1 & 2 oriented (green and blue), there's still something on the hill for everyone. There's no attitude, it's not a fashion or money contest, it's just great skiing and some of the best prices available in the US. Phenomenal skiing despite it being apparently a poor year for snow. The quality of snow was much better than what I'm used to in the PNW. The employees/ lift attendants were some of the friendliest around. It was a sunny Sunday and the lift lines were non existent. read more

Visited this ski area today! I must say myself along with my family had a great time! My mom and sister never skied before and after about an hour they were going down the mountain comfortably! I used to ski/snowboard when I lived in Japan and thought I couldn't get back into the hang of it. The instructors Ben and Bonnie helped my family tremendously. Super patient! And very very nice! If you want to have a good time and maybe don't want to drive hours and hours away for skiing. Showdown is your place! The area is about an hour from Malstrom Air Force Base! My daughter and I decided to give skiing a try this year, we picked Showdown. The prices for rental equipment and lift tickets are pretty darn good. Although we are still tackling the Caboose lift trails, we'll probably be ready to try taking the other lifts to the rest of the green runs and hopefully blue by next season... The staff in general are friendly, although I had a question about ski length for myself and was simply shown a picture rather than having it explained to me, which would have enabled me to make a better comparison on ski's for myself. But besides that, our experience had been great. I have no hesitation in recommending Showdown as a ski destination for beginners/intermediate like ourselves. read more

Today was my first time back at Showdown in a couple of years, and my experience today absolutely warrants a positive review. This morning we got out of the car w/ the thermometer reading -6 F and hefty wind gusts, and we were preparing for a "grin and bear it" ski day. Quite the contrary: the staff (everyone from ticket sales to lesson instructors) were all beyond friendly--lots of smiles and warm greetings. The temps kept the crowds away; there were no lift lines! And the liftees were awesome, very friendly, waving as we went by, remembering who we are--if only every ski hill operated this day. Showdown is family-owned, and they go out of there way to make you feel right at home. Several times the staff were so friendly asking me how my day was, I thought that I must have forgotten meeting them before. But nope! that's just how nice they are here. ABSURDLY reasonable prices, especially compared to the bigger (less friendly) in state hills and (even less friendly) out-of-state resorts. All natural snow, no blowers. I definitely recommend stopping by for a great day on the mountain. read more

This is a great skiing area. It's very friendly, value oriented ski area. The staff and owner is what makes this small ski area one of my favorite of all the places my family had skied. It's well maintained, organized, friendly, and very qualified to assist anyone with any of your skiing needs. My kids learned to ski at Showdown and our experience has been top notch from the get go up to present. The terrain is well rounded and can accommodate the novice up to the most extreme experts. It's beautiful up there. Truly one of the ski gem in the state. read more
