Just got home from a week at Circle bar and have a few observations I would like to share.
I will start with the positive...
I give the wranglers a 5 out of 5 shoutout to Sophia, John and all the girls they were fantastic.
5 out of 5 on the horses and the riding, the trails were amazing and the cattle drive was so much fun. I am an average rider and I was able to really enjoy all the riding thanks to the wranglers.
Food 2 out of 5 that's it that's all the only meal worth having was breakfast and maybe 2 dinners.
Guest cabins, 2 out of 5
it was not clean when we got there, spiders in the sink, mouse poop on the kitchen counter and in the shower, the beds are old fashioned spring box with a mattress on top, there is absolutely no housekeeping at all during your stay. Had to ask for towels none at all on arrival. Also running with the Theme of continuously asking for something multiple times, I asked three times for an extra pillow and had to remind the management before they were going bed that I still hadn't received my extra pillow, And I thought it seemed like a bother to them.Don't get me wrong i was expecting a rustic experience and even expected a few visitors but when you have a mouse in the house and have to ask the manager 5 times throughout the day to set a trap it that was a bit much, he didn't even go back to check the trap we had to remove the dead mouse ourselves. And that night we had another one join us, again asked the manager to set a trap and when we told him that we threw the trap out with the mouse attached he said he didn't think he had another trap, needless to say another trap was not set and some of us got no sleep!
The guest house 2 out of 5
We had all our meals there and it was filthy, not until someone in our group mentioned the fact the floor had not been swept on the fourth day did it get done. All the furniture where the games were and tables around the couch were dusty even on arrival, not to mention the couch that was literally falling apart at the seems with stuffing sticking out, again not until one of our group mentioned how Awful it was did it get removed and replaced with one that wasn't falling apart.
Hot tub and pool 0 out of 5 neither we're working.
Activities offered 2 out of 5 Other than riding twice a day Only for three days out of the five...archery was offered once shooting was offered once and UTV offered once. Again I can't say enough about the riding and the wranglers and thanks to John who arranged a line dancing evening with Lessons and the ride out on the UTV really that's it.
The games room 1out 5 only because it did have board games a pool table and a lonely treadmill. Again the Running theme of dirt continued... There were two washrooms that again were not cleaned until the fourth day again when someone from our group mentioned it there was paper towels on the floor there was toilet papers on the floor and these were the washrooms that was not only by the guests also anyone who happen to be on the ranch. By day three there was no toilet paper in one washroom there was no paper towel to dry your hands in the other washroom only one washroom had soap also there was coffee cups and empty bottles on the table until the fourth day so needless to say again this room was not clean dust everywhere where the games were, you didn't even want to pull one out to play.
I just want say that despite all this because of the group of people that we were, we still had a good time. would not look at circle bar ranch as an option to either recommend to anyone or to go back to which is sad because like I said the wranglers and the horses were fantastic. This place needs a lot of work and possibly new management people that would go out of their way to make this place spectacular as it has the potential with the right people... read more
