What a gem for Lewistown! Stayed one night in a suite, and everything was fantastic! The hotel has been upgraded well. The room was perfect with the fireplace, and the bathroom was incredible. The tile, the clawfoot bathtub, the soft robes - even the soaps were fabulous!!

Wow, to see this kind of luxury in the middle of farmland is amazing! The restaurant is fantastic and the courtyard is unbelievable The owner has created a masterpiece. The restaurant, the Onyx Bar and Grill, has a separate posting. One suggestion for the hotel would be a collage of pictures for the renovation and a flyer in each room. Your marketing of the hotel hooked us. I think it might have been a google ad that we clicked on but now I can't remember. Celebrate the history through pictures throughout the Hotel. One last thought, better coffee in the morning would be fantastic. Very nicely done Steve.

I liked the Calvert, but there are a few things about it that are just...off. For starters, they have great curb appeal - it's a renovated historic building, and the exterior is beautiful (especially the flowers!). However, the neon "(no) vacancy" sign kind of takes away a little bit. Next up, I don't think it's a handicap-friendly hotel, although the restaurant downstairs has one of those stair chairs (hilarious!) so maybe you can ride that down and hit an elevator in the middle of the building somewhere. If you have a heavy suitcase or a lot of stuff to haul into the hotel (like the sampling equipment that my coworkers & I had), you might find the front stairs annoying. Plus, the front door then doesn't open as far as it seems like it should - kind of problematic with all of the equipment we had. On to the rooms. Mine was really nice - super comfy beds and nice linens, but the pillows were way too fluffy for my liking and they all seemed to be the same. Some variety would be nice! There's a nice big TV down in one end of the room by a little table and chair, but this leads me to the part I found most annoying...there are no lamps! The only lights the room are the wall lights over the beds. That means no working on your laptop at the table after dark, and when you're reading a book in bed and are finally about to doze off, you have to get up and turn the lights off. The rooms were also lacking storage - there's no dresser or closet, and the lack of storage space in the bathroom was also irksome (although the bathroom was really nicely remodeled!). I tend to take very few toiletries with me when I'm doing field work, and I still had a hard time making space for the few things I needed in the bathroom. The breakfast area is really small, so you either have to time it just right to get a table, stand around and eat, take food back to your room, or eat it on your way out the door. I didn't find the breakfast options to be very enticing - a few cereals and English muffins, juices, yogurt, and a few breakfast bars. I guess they did away with the waffle iron that someone else mentioned! At any rate, the Calvert is probably the best bang for your buck in Lewistown (and almost certainly nicer than the few other options!) - definitely worth checking out!

Ok! We have stayed here three times in the last 3 years and thought I had reviewed it but I had…read morenot! Overall it's a decent place IF you get the right room, but it's also quite rundown, especially in the hallway near the washing machines. The floor needs replacing, but let me get into this room review. 1st of all let me say that the first two times we stayed here it was just barely enough room for my family, they do not offer rooms with a third couch bed so we had to fit two adults and three children onto two queen beds and that was difficult. But other than that, the other two times were decent and we had no issues. This time they put us in room 123 Which Was Way down the hall on the first floor on the left. At first it seemed fine, but then we started noticing. There was crap all over the floor that needed to be vacuumed up and then we pulled a bedsheet back and there was hairs all over the place, it looked like it had been remade after being used and then just re-sold. But what made me really upset was my wife found a crumpled up tissue under one of the pillows on the bed. That was it, I went down to the office and complained and they said they would find us a new room and by the time I came back to the room, it stunk so bad that I was going to throw up. Apparently, when the toilet gets flushed, it releases a massive amount of disgusting smell that filled the entire room so even without those first problems, I would've immediately left the room to prevent myself from throwing up and would've stayed in the lobby in a chair instead of in that room if there was no other rooms available. Thankfully, that was not the case, and they put us across the hall in room 122, and this room was just about perfect. In every way, it didn't stink, it was clean, everything was fine. And the only problem was the very tight sleeping situation. So for the first two stays and this third stay, I will give them overall a four star rating. They were very nice and helpful, even the nice lady at night who was probably dealing with all sorts of stuff like that, she was very helpful and very nice. And then their breakfast was nice too. It's not the fanciest breakfast in the world, but it has a waffle maker and that's always nice and then there are miscellaneous fruits and muffins and eggs and stuff like that. Overall, if you don't have too many people, I do recommend this hotel, however, be very careful about the room you get and make sure to check everything.

Getting an…read moreappointment for anywhere in Western Montata for a commercial driver's license renewal is impossible within a month. We opted to go for a drive and have some vacation time in Lewistown (wow) as they had the earliest opening for an appointment. I booked 3 nights and we actually showed up a day early. After some creative juggling on the part of the night attendant, we got a room. It was noticed the next morning by the assistant manager that we were bumped from our 3 nights as the night person cancelled our original reservation and gave us 3 nights in the new room without the last one. That was the actual date of the appointment so it was imperative that we stayed the extra night. Again, some creative juggling and boom! we had a room for the last night. Every morning the breakfast room was set up with a basic but accecptable offering. Unfortunately, with food allergies, I could only partake in the oatmeal but I'm not picky so as my husband enjoyed his Belgian Waffle, I slopped down"mush"as he calls it with my gluten free muffin I brought with me. The cleaning staff was on the ball and the room was clean and sheets were crisp. My husband's biggest complaint was that they must have been trained by military personell as the sheets were firmly tucked in! He is a bare foot in the wind sleeper. The beds were very comfortable and as a bonus, there was a bench near a small picnic table with umbrella in the shade of the building for a smoking section he enjoyed with his daily cigar and chit chat with guests and the occasional staff on break or lunch. All in all, as we spent a total of about a half hour with the licensing department and business was successfully completed, the trip was an outstanding success. Our thanks to the friendly staff at the Super 8 in Lewistown! If we pass through again, we will definitely stay at your establishment.

Talked to the general manager, tried to reason with her but she was extremely stern and combative. After paying $221 for a single room, that we booked 3 months ago, that was $179 last year. Talk about inflation! Plus take away the Christmas fun for all of us in 4 rooms. What a disappointment! I'll never stay here again. Born and raised in this area I'm disappointed that the small town friendliness is gone. Do not recommend this place to anyone any more. I stayed at Sunset Motel several times while I was out hunting near Lewistown…read more While, initially, I thought this was simply a budget-friendly motel that, while lacking amenities, was a nice place to stay with a very quirky manager/owner. Well, the "quirky" manager/owner turned out to be paranoid and dishonest and downright unfriendly. If you don't want the whole story, scroll down for TLDR version. On my first night in the hotel, I had just come out of the mountains, feeling exhausted and grimy. I was excited to finally take a shower... only to find after a while the tub wasn't draining. Additionally, I began to see debris floating up from the drain... It appeared to be toilet/tissue paper remnants and, rather grossed out, I quickly hopped out of the shower. The next morning, the tub still hadn't fully drained, so I notified the manager. Later in the day, when I came back from the coffee shop, I returned to find that she had, not only removed all of my belongings from my room without my permission, but also rifled through my duffle bag, toiletries bag and hunting pack.... she had even dug in and pulled out my prescription medication. I didn't have anything to hide and everything seemed to be missing (though I found out later she'd thrown out the toiletries I had in the shower)... so, I didn't raise a fuss. After all, the place was cheap and I wanted to continue staying there. Cut to a week or so later and several additional stays at the motel without incident. I call ahead, per usual, to check for available rooms and she said that a room was available and I could come in to book it. When I arrived, I filled out my standard information on the registration card as usual and she ran my card... she then stated that she wasn't charging me for a room, but instead charging me for damages to my original hotel room and wrote down my CC number before I could take it back. She then proceeds to go into this ridiculous diatribe about how I shoved toilet paper down the drain, how I wiped food all over her comforter, how I jacked up her electrical bill and how I ruined an entire stack of her towels. She even brought out lots of conspiracy theory evidence... wadded up toilet paper that was conveniently outside of my room. I explained that I never shoved toilet paper down the drain, that I never ate on the bed and that I was sorry if I stained a couple of towels, but I was using them to... well... wash with. At most, I may have stained a washcloth I used to clean dirty hands and the floor mat. As well, I explained that I turned off all my lights and TV before leaving... but she insisted that leaving my iPhone wall charger attached to the power strip was a HUGE power drain. TLDR/Long story short... She accused me of damaging her rooms when the damage was done by a prior occupant... lectured me about things I didn't do as well as common things like leaving towels on the floor and leaving a USB wall charger plugged in... rifled through all my belongings... She then took my credit card under false pretenses and charged me without my permission. I immediately left and went to stay at The Trails End Motel across the street where they don't falsely accuse me of and, effectively, steal my credit card number. It's more than worth the extra $15 or so bucks a night.
