My wife and I live in Lewistown and are retired, living on fixed incomes. We occasionally "treat" ourselves to a meal at West Feed Grilling. Recently, on a Sunday afternoon we went there for a late lunch. We both ordered chicken strips as they are crispy and not greasy. We both requested a salad with our meal. When our meal arrived our salads were laced with black, slimy pieces of lettuce, indicating bacterial breakdown. We pointed this out to our waitress and refused to eat our salads. This is not the first time we have gotten black, slimy lettuce in our salads. She did not offer to provide a substitute for our slimy lettuce, To our waitress's credit, however, she discounted our meal and gave me a chip for a free beer. We would have preferred a healthy salad with our meal. I'm not sure if we will ever go back. If you go there, request Kelli as your waitress, she is the best! read more

Central feed is a hidden gem in Lewistown, my grandma (a resident) has been raving about this place since it opened and we finally got a chance to try it with her. As someone who has been visiting, and eating, in Lewistown since I was a baby it feels great to finally have a restaurant offering a little bit more elegant and experimental spin on traditional great northern cooking. Central feed offers nothing out of the ordinary in any brew pub, but everything has a unique spin on it. We got the huckleberry bbq wings, beer cheese nachos, and a salad and the wings were unique, tangy, and feature Montanas favor berry. The beer cheese nachos were awesome, by far the best beer cheese I've ever had. The building itself is modern rustic and would be a great date spot for locals or anyone passing through. I am very impressed with this restaurant and brewery. I dined here on two consecutive nights when I was staying in Lewistown. The first night was bad on the menu and reviews. The experience was so good that I took another group the next night. What was so impressive and good? Both nights we were promptly greeted and taken to a table. The hostess was pleasant both nights. The ambiance was terrific. Our service was both nights by different waitresses was excellent. Both were friendly and fun. They were also very good. The food was as excellent as the ambience and service. I have not had a better steak at any restaurant except Morton's and a couple other WAY more expensive restaurants. The steaks at Central Feed were grilled to order. Both nights every member of my party had steaks that were grilled perfectly. The person running the grill is outstanding! If you're anywhere near Lewistown, this is THE restaurant for dinner. It's so good that I think you should take a trip to Lewistown just to dine at Central Feed! Very highly recommended! read more

This is a great place to eat. The food is fresh and delicious, rivaling any Seattle area restaurant I've been to. It can be quite loud, because the bar and restaurant are not separated. The booths seem to be quieter, and there are two rooms looking out to Main Street that are separate from the bar if you are seeking a quieter area. Servers are friendly and attentive-there's never been even a slight indication of impatience with anyone there, and we've been there with a few large groups. Save room for dessert. Had the side salad with balsamic and a crispy chicken sandwich with their honey sriracha on side. Both were fantastic but the sauces were king. Balsamic is thick and sweet with a nice tang and the honey sriracha is the perfect amount of sweet and spicy. Sandwich was good too but not necessarily anything special but still worthy of 5 stars. We were hoping to eat outside but they weren't serving out there this evening, unfortunately, so we ended up taking our food to go. The locals call this place "The Brewery". Really done well, nice open restaurant. Opened summer of 2018. Great service. Ordered the black and blue salad and it was really good. Friend ordered a ribeye steak with sweet potato fries and it was tasty and huge. Both I'd order again. Ordered the ahi appetizer and it was ok. Kind of to be expected frankly being this far inland. Went back tonight and ordered the steak and frites. Fries are bomb and they're served with garlic aioli. Steak is a sirloin so it was pretty tough. Probably wouldn't recommend that unless you enjoy sirloin. They have an extensive beer menu and hard cider too if you're gluten free. Overall I really enjoy this place and will be back next time I'm in town. read more

Amazing! We sat out on the large, covered porch where the breeze was perfect. Beers are spectacular! I had a flight of interesting beers and my better half had an IPA. We split the fiesta salad, cheesy potato soup, 10oz filet, red potatoes and sautéd veggies. Food was cooked perfect and was one of the best meals we've had. Service is outstanding. We were in town for a sporting event and needed some place to eat my before heading back home. We were sent to this restaurant by some fellow players, and after checking the Yelp reviews we decided to give it a chance. We order the duck drumettes, which were delicious. My husband had a dark beer and said it was pretty good. We both ordered steaks, med rare. Mine came out rare (and that's being generous), my husbands was definitely blue rare. My steak was full of connective tissue and most of it I couldn't even chew. We laughed at the salad, because one of the earlier reviews said " I was served the smallest salad I've ever seen in my life" and they were 100% correct. Our daughter had a burger, it was passable, but nothing special. We are the kind of people who will drive three hours for a good steak, or a great restaurant. This place is ok, but nothing I would go out of my way to get to. Having said that, there were several people in the restaurant eating short rib nachos and they looked amazing. Was going to settle for some instant noodles in the hotel after a long drive from Glacier National Park, but after remembering Montana has a lot of cows, we should check out their steak scene. Lewis town was along our route and we are glad to have stopped in for take out. Not only was the service amazing, the ribeye and burger were done to perfection and tasted delicious. It's one of the few places along our roadtrip that they also didn't mess up our order! I would highly recommend the spot if you are any where near Lewistown and want a flavorful and perfectly cooked meal. Oh and their beers (sold by the crowler) were great. read more
