We used to get food from here at leadt once a week. More frequently when family visited. But This place has gone haywire under new owners. Prices jacked up. Portions decreased. Quality gone down. Have to be within 2 car lengths to read it giving no time to read it. Didn't mind too much this visit because I knew what I wanted- deliberately went for a gyro. What a Rip off. $12 for a gyro- no side. Bread not toasted, 5 paper thin slices of prepackaged meat. Tasted like the kit sold at grocery store for less than $10 to make 4 gyros. $0.96 extra fee for using debit card. The only thing I liked was the cashier was pleasant. read more

The Dash Inn is a good little burger and sandwich carry-out shop located right off the Main Street in Lewistown. The food is good fast food fare. We particularly liked the huckleberry shakes. If you're hungry for some good greasy burgers and a shake, you can't go wrong here. read more

As you can tell by now, I'm gonna talk about this a lot, and I'll start by its cleanliness. THE DASH-INN IS CLEAN. And that's important. The grounds are kept, the kitchen staff look neat and clean, the drive-through and parking lot don't have any trash in them, and it's that way around the clock and throughout the calendar. If it's not clean outside, it's not going to taste good inside®. Why does Dash-Inn ring my bells? Float my boat? Curl my toes? Because of the Wagon Wheel. It's the only sandwich of its kind on the entire planet. It's like a hamburger, but instead of a bun, it's everything within two slices of good, old Montana's-own-wheat white bread, and pressed in a kind of panini iron that creates a perfectly sealed, browned sandwich that resembles---can you guess?---a wagon wheel. The menu offers extensive combinations, and the sides options are just as numerous. So: what'd I leave out here......Oh, yeah. Liquid lusciousness in the form of a B-Bop or Rum Hot-N-Tot. Those are exclusive names for Dash-Inn's signature drinks. It goes like this: The B-Bop (my sister's favorite) is a Coke with rum syrup added. The Rum Hot-N-Tot (my favorite!) has rum AND cinnamon syrup added to Coke. They are truly the tears of angels in heaven who can never come to Earth to drive through Dash-Inn. Get a Wagon Wheel. And unique sides. And a Rum Hot-N-Tot. Park under the canopies and eat as if you're getting your last meal. Because if it is, dang: what a way to go. And if you can't decide, thow a dart at the menu board. Or ask the person taking your order what they recommend. They'll do right by you. My mom's favorite? The Western Wagon Wheel. It's a double burger with loads of onions and homemade BBQ sauce. Before I continue, let me tell you about my mom, the Dash-Inn and me: the wee drive-in is a stone's throw (literally, in its literate definition of the word) from St Joseph's Hospital, where I was born in 1964. Rumor has it that my mom, after I made my 12 pounds and 24 inches long debut, yelled at my great-grandparents to drive through the Dash-Inn on the way home. Once in the lane, she rolled down the window and was greeted with a friendly "What'll ya have??" Mom said, "I just pushed a grand piano out of a basement window. Just feed me!" They did, and 56 years later, I'm convinced that it was due only to the quality of the Dash-Inn's lunch that impressed her so much that she didn't drop me off at the back door of the orphanage. Thanks, Mom. And thanks, Dash-Inn. When you go through Lewistown, Montana, you'll do well to stay right on Main Street until you see the Dash-Inn. You can't miss it. Wagon wheels are legit. I mean, understand what you are getting into and set your expectations accordingly but I appreciate the authentic homegrown local classic drive through vibe. Did I mention wagon wheels? You must try this Lewistown delicacy... perfect for eating while you drive as well. They know how to fry stuff well. I have heard quality control is unreliable but it's been great each time I've gone. The cashier had an attitude and messed up our order multiple times, whenever we came back to reorder (not ask for a refund just try to buy it again) she kept having an attitude. Ultra dope parking, we got a spot right next to our concrete picnic table. The twin cheeseburger was saucy, meaty goodness. We suspect the chicken nuggets were hand battered in a coating reminiscent of a country fair corndog. Superb! They were accompanied by a uniquely mustardy BBQ sauce. The Halibut sandwich was ordinary, but the bun had a variety of textures, ranging from toasty to chewy. It was quite nice. The BBQ chicken sandwich was pulled, and sauced with the aforementioned sauce. The jumbo cupcake wrapper held the whole mess together. Speaking of packaging, the entire meal was wrapped in paper and evoked a postmodern antiquated joy. And, finally, the Tots. Perfect, smurphy, delightful and also nicely packaged. At first glance it doesn't look like much, but don't let that fool you!! Very large menu!! We had the Twin Cheese Wagon Wheel which is nothing like you've ever had !! It's a double cheese "burger" pressed into a pocket between to slices of bread. My suggestion is to get the Twin Cheese wagon wheel with tots, and you won't be disappointed. read more

Looking for a place to eat along the barren Montana 200 highway, located right along the highway in Lewistown is the Dash Inn drive in. Pull up to the window, get your food, than eat in one of many parking spots. We ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich, which was pounded and fried to perfection, you could taste that everything was fresh and only for $4.50. In addition we ordered the chicken tender basket with fries, garlic butter bread, Cole slaw, and a sundae for $9.95. The chicken tenders were better than average, the Cole slaw had a little to much mayo, and too little vinegar for my taste. The sundae and vanilla malt were excellent as well all for $21. No restroom here so travelers will want to take this into consideration. read more

The food is okay, but what really turns me off is how many times I have to view major cleavage AND MORE as one of the older gals leans out the drive through window to give me my food. Not to mention the number of times I was subjected to a young man's behind crack who was cooking and his underwear because his pants were so low, and the less offensive facial piercings of the various workers. Just when I thought I've experienced the worst in Montana, I had the tremendous misfortune of eating at The Dash Inn / Wagon Wheel. The experience began with an exceptionally rude female voice from the drive up box who demanded that we hurry up and order from their disastrously long menu of subpar fast food. After being forced to hastily choose what few items we could identify among the list of "hot and tot" and "bee bops" we had the pleasure of meeting a very creepy bearded man that, despite working there for two years, confessed that he didn't like anything on their menu. What's even worse than their customer service and quality of food is the fact that it's all prepared by dirty bare hands and bearded men that haven't yet discovered the necessity of hair nets and general cleanliness in the food service industry. Be advised that if you still insist on risking your appetite and life at The Dash Inn / Wagon Wheel, you're making a tremendous mistake. read more
