The Western Wagon Wheel and a pound of Montana-grown french fries!
    J F.

Dash-Inn automatically gets five stars. Dash-Inn gets five stars even when they're closed at night. Even when I'm not there. Because it's the Dash-Inn. As you can tell by now, I'm gonna talk about this a lot, and I'll start by its cleanliness. THE DASH-INN IS CLEAN. And that's important. The grounds are kept, the kitchen staff look neat and clean, the drive-through and parking lot don't have any trash in them, and it's that way around the clock and throughout the calendar. If it's not clean outside, it's not going to taste good inside®. Why does Dash-Inn ring my bells? Float my boat? Curl my toes? Because of the Wagon Wheel. It's the only sandwich of its kind on the entire planet. It's like a hamburger, but instead of a bun, it's everything within two slices of good, old Montana's-own-wheat white bread, and pressed in a kind of panini iron that creates a perfectly sealed, browned sandwich that resembles---can you guess?---a wagon wheel. The menu offers extensive combinations, and the sides options are just as numerous. So: what'd I leave out here......Oh, yeah. Liquid lusciousness in the form of a B-Bop or Rum Hot-N-Tot. Those are exclusive names for Dash-Inn's signature drinks. It goes like this: The B-Bop (my sister's favorite) is a Coke with rum syrup added. The Rum Hot-N-Tot (my favorite!) has rum AND cinnamon syrup added to Coke. They are truly the tears of angels in heaven who can never come to Earth to drive through Dash-Inn. Get a Wagon Wheel. And unique sides. And a Rum Hot-N-Tot. Park under the canopies and eat as if you're getting your last meal. Because if it is, dang: what a way to go. And if you can't decide, thow a dart at the menu board. Or ask the person taking your order what they recommend. They'll do right by you. My mom's favorite? The Western Wagon Wheel. It's a double burger with loads of onions and homemade BBQ sauce. Before I continue, let me tell you about my mom, the Dash-Inn and me: the wee drive-in is a stone's throw (literally, in its literate definition of the word) from St Joseph's Hospital, where I was born in 1964. Rumor has it that my mom, after I made my 12 pounds and 24 inches long debut, yelled at my great-grandparents to drive through the Dash-Inn on the way home. Once in the lane, she rolled down the window and was greeted with a friendly "What'll ya have??" Mom said, "I just pushed a grand piano out of a basement window. Just feed me!" They did, and 56 years later, I'm convinced that it was due only to the quality of the Dash-Inn's lunch that impressed her so much that she didn't drop me off at the back door of the orphanage. Thanks, Mom. And thanks, Dash-Inn. When you go through Lewistown, Montana, you'll do well to stay right on Main Street until you see the Dash-Inn. You can't miss it. There's not another like it, nor another Wagon Wheel, B-Bop or Rum Hot-N-Tot, anywhere else in the World. And tell 'em Jeph sent you.

Great drive in joint. The wagon wheel burger is great. Try one. The tater tots came out super hot and crunchy. And the arctic shake was a nice small size

    Awesome food

Could have gotten a better meal at the town pump. Was not impressed at all. Don't let the busyness of the place fool you!!

The restaurant was packed. The service was great. I bantered with our server. It was fun. The ambiance was typical small town Friday prime rib night. The prime rib was good. They have a very nice salad bar too. I visited a couple days later for lunch. I had whatever the ham & cheese sandwich was...and it was excellent. That's right: excellent. Highly recommended!

Let me back up. When we arrived at 4:50 there was 1 table occupied and the waitress asked if we had a reservation. I thought that was cute. My nephew suggested people were just getting off work. He was right. By 5:10 the place was packed. Make a reservation or go early! We both ordered the Prime Rib. I ordered, and included a picture, of what they call the XTRA SMALL. It is huge (to me!). My nephew ordered the large (he's a master diesel mechanic and can EAT) and the waitress said "Are you sure?" He ended up taking 1/3 of his and 2/3 of mine home for leftovers. The meat was perfectly cooked, very tender and seasoned to perfection. Dinner comes with a soup and salad bar. I had a little clam chowder that was delicious. The salad bar was great and included hush puppies as big as softballs. Best I've ever had. Took 2 so I could give one to my nephew so he could experience it. Made him a fan. Dinner also includes your choice from an impressive list of desserts. My caramel apple cobbler is sitting in my hotel fridge waiting for me to get hungry for a late night snack. I leave tomorrow so I'm attacking that cobbler no matter what! Our waitress was funny and a delight and the whole place was very cozy.

I've stayed at the Yogo Inn and eaten at Stetson's several times before (albeit many years ago)…read more From what I remember, it was a fairly traditional American Diner. Having arrived in town again today I looked around to see what yelp might suggest. If we weren't so tired and didn't have a 5-month old sleeping baby, wet might have gone elsewhere. In the last few years, I've become picky about doing my best to eat quality food (I'm from California - it's my prerogative). I was not thrilled about eating at what I thought was going to be a traditional, greasy, American Diner where a "salad" referred to a handful of almost white ice berg lettuce with a few stale carrot shavings. Turns out, today is the launch of the new menu, and its so amazing that I had to write a review (which I almost NEVER do...). And apparently this is the first review of the restaurant proper). In short, the food quality and quantity are both excellent, and are better than many of the local restaurants at home that I frequent. The house salad is a massive portion of spring greens (and other fixins) with some high quality dressing options that I've never seen anywhere else (I had the raspberry curry vinaigrette). The chicken vodka penne had everything I was looking for. And the Devils chocolate cake - huge and amazingly soft and rich. The only constructive criticism I could possibly provide is that the baked potato soup (overall delicious as well) was a bit salty for our tastes, but we think that about most soups anywhere. The service provided by Dustin and Justin was also top notch. You simply must try the new menu for yourself, especially if you've eaten here before!

I'm writing this for my 89 year old parents…read more My wife and I were there for the Mothe's Day dinner. The meal was lousy at best. Every item was cold or empty. For the price that we were charged, it wasn't even close to being worth our time and money. We asked for more coffee and never received any. The roast beef was shredded and not carved. We have been coming to this restaurant for the past 26 years. What a Disappointment!! We will never be back and we do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. We sat next to two tables that were swearing about American Prairie. One star is too high of a rating for our experience.
