Who wouldn't love this place? Carol and Pete are the best. If you are looking for a place to unplug…read moreand relax, this is it. There is a gas barbecue near the cabins with seating to enjoy the outdoors and relax. There are chairs by the creek where you can sit and absorb the experience of being in the forest. The cabins are the perfect size for one or two people. They have everything you need to make a meal in the cozy cabin. I was fortunate enough to get a reservation again this year. The care and pride they have in their cabins are well deserved. I think Pete is the moose whisperer. Twice I have been invited to see the moose mom and kid(s) from the deck of Carol and Pete's house. If you are having separation anxiety from your pup, Kelly is there to help you cope. When you come to Montana, this is the perfect place to stay while you enjoy Yellowstone, only a mile away. Be good to yourself and stay with Carol and Pete at Silver Tip Cabins. You deserve it. You won't regret it. You'll become a regular. I have. Thanks, Carol and Pete, for everything. See you in the spring. Kathe Gruenthal Eureka, CA

It is located in a spot that is completely wooded yet you have incredible views of the surrounding mountains. We saw moose, deer (within 10 feet of our cabin porch) and birds we had never seen before! Each morning started out with coffee on the cabin porch where we lingered just appreciating the woods and the wildlife. It thundered and rained nearly every day but for short times, so that no plans were spoiled. Carol and Pete and their dog Kelly are gracious hosts providing all the creature comforts (tv, cell service, laundry) along with opportunities to see a mother moose and her two calves enjoying a salt lick - thanks to Pete! We had easy access to Silver Gate and Cooke City, especially "Stop the Car" ice cream! We were within 7 minutes of the NE Entrance to YNP, so we made many trips into the park where we saw buffalo, goats. fox, wild horses and a grizzly bear! This was the trip of a lifetime! Thank you so much Carol and Pete!! We intend to come back! Judy and Rick H.

It is in Emigrant a small town that boasts a great bakery and great BBQ in the warm season. To get to and from the Cabin you drive through the Chico Hot Springs Resort. In addition to hot springs Chico has a riding stable and adventure company for white water, scenic floats and hiking. This is nice if you don't want to drive to Gardiner some days. There is also a nice hike to a falls just up the road from the cabin. The cabin itself was excellent. We were there on some hot days and the cabin stayed cool if you closed the blinds as instructed. There was a full kitchen and while fussy cook husband might have wanted sharper knives for prep work he managed to make some fine meals. He also used the charcoal grill but the black flies were thick in the heat. Better him than me! Happily the long porch facing the stream is fully screened. No biting things there. The porch had a casual dining table and glider bench. The cabin had two bedrooms and one and a half baths. The half bath was in a utility room which included a washer and dryer. Priceless! There was also a comfy living room with two sofas and a glider chair. We never used the TV but it was there too. The cabin had wifi thankfully because there wasn't much cell reception. Basically it was a great place to get away, listen to the creek at night and relax.

Anytime I had a request they were quick to respond and did whatever it took to accommodate our needs. From getting the fridge stocked with food, setting up horse rides for the crew on our day off, holding their work on the ranch so it would be quite for sound when filming, the list goes on! Not only was the hospitality incredible, but the property itself was a dream come true! After a long day of work, it was the perfect place to unwind. We would sit on the porch and watch the beautiful sunsets in the big open sky while cooking our dinner over a campfire. One night we even got to watch roping practice in their outdoor arena. They not only have horses and cows on the ranch, but 3 dogs and 3 cats who became our "office pets" (their dog Prince quickly became our favorite). A great added bonus to our stay having sweet animals come to great us each day. I would recommend the magical Cottenwood Ranch again and again.
