Very fast service. Empanadas were hot and crispy. I didn't look too many of the sauces provided though. Overall a decent food truck!
I was working at the Dublin Police Services Trunk or Treat event at Emerald Glen Park when the hunger pangs hit. I walked over to where there were three food vendors set up. Two of the lines were long and one was practically non-existent. My general rule of thumb is that if there is no one waiting, there might be a very good reason. However, I couldn't stay away from our display long enough to wait for the two busy vendors to get my order out. Fortunately, sometimes looks can be deceiving. The service was fast and friendly. The Empanadas are cooked to order so there is a short wait. The pricing was $5.50 for one and there was a special of 3 for $14. I got one Chicken Empanada. It was hot out of the fryer. The exterior was crispy and delicious. The filling was a bit too well ground for me. I would have preferred something more to chew on. But the pastry itself made the meal for me. Service was friendly and efficient. I would definitely like to try some other flavors.
This was my first experience with Colombian empanadas and I have to say, if you haven't had it yet, you need to! I found this food truck an at Off The Grid event and decided to order three of their empanadas. They were all stuffed full of meat and potatoes (who doesn't love that?) The order came with small containers of different dipping sauces, some spicy and some sweet. I was actually surprised to find that I was really fond of the sweet sauce paired with the savory empanada! The cilantro mayo dip also paired really well with the empanadas!
I got to try Crazy Empanadas at the Sazon Latin Food Festival (apologies for my delayed review) and I ordered the lechon arepa. It came with sizeable chunks of avocado, as well as a lot of corn (I think probably the canned kind, based on texture). I liked the lechon itself and the cheese, but I am not sure how I feel about the overall flavor profile with the other ingredients. Maybe it would've been better to go for the empanadas, but I had wanted to eat the arepas since it's a Columbian specialty.

Staff was friendly and deep fried the empanadas fresh. Ordered 2 chicken, 1 beef and 1 Hawaiian empanada. Both chicken and beef are served with a shredded meat/potato filling and it's seasoned well. The sauce it comes with is also delicious. The Hawaiian is a cheese, ham and pineapple filling and it was on the sweet side. A nice surprise. Would definitely like to get these again!
A gluten free empanada??? What?!? I was very skeptical but loved everything that I ate. The empanada was made with a corn flour dough and it was very good and filling. The prices were good too. I got a mean with plantain dish and it was odd looking, I didn't expect a full plantain, but it was mighty tasty. My husband tasted my food and decided to get the empanadas. We got two flavors - the beef and the chicken and both were very good. The salsa that came with them was good too. One red and one green. Usually, one outshines the other but this time, both were equally good. The woman working the window was super nice and welcoming. I know I will be back when I see them and not have to worry about not having something to eat. I can not wait!
Got 2 chicken empanadas. Found the truck finally at the San Ramon The LOT City Center Farmer's Market on Saturday. They are great and tasty. Took a bit to make, but well worth it. Many people were ordering from the truck.

Not too fond of the yellow corn dough either, but it was cooked to a nice light crisp which I liked. Service was standard, and the wait was reasonable, less than 10 minutes... And the next day, I saw this food truck at the Scottish Highland Games in Pleasanton, with a long line of customers, so even though they weren't exactly crazy good IMO, apparently they're popular.
These Empanadas were just alright, nothing quite to write home about. The beef Empanada didn't have a ton of flavor or spice, pretty thick crust and lots of oil. Same with the Chicken Empanada as well. The Hawaiian empanada was the unique one of the bunch, lots of cheese, big pineapple and ham chunks making it a unique treat but I couldn't eat more than one. Reasonable prices, fries were thin and tasty, and it was a pretty quick turn around. Probably wouldn't seek this out again just your stereotypical empanada
Came across Crazy Empanada at G&M Farms. Something different from usually burgers, sandwiches, and burritos. They feature three main options: empanada, patacon and arepas. Never had patacon before so got patacon antiqueno (fried pork belly) to share with dear hubby. Mashed green plantain mixed with pork, beans, and more overlaid on a plantain "shell". Comes with three sauces, a white, red and green. Pretty tasty overall. Bonus they offer many gluten free options.
Would not get the Beef Empanada again as it was mainly potato and very little beef if any... Loaded fries was decent, but I thought the cheese was the nacho kind. I should have asked then I wouldn't have bought it. Also, the house sauce taste like ketchup and mayo basically.. I got this because I saw someone eating it and it looked so good. I probably wouldn't crave or return. But, glad I tried them since I kept seeing their truck around the markets I go to.

That's why you don't see a lot of them around here. I thought the price was most reasonable. It's larger than I thought, and very filling. The empanadas are quite a bit different than tacos. Much tastier as well. I ordered two chicken empanadas. It's like a big turnover with shredded chicken inside. Yes, it really is that good. I had a chance to talk with the young man who is the owner. The business has been in operation for about 4 years. It started right before covid! Fortunately, they were allowed to operate during covid. That's how they survived. So overall, a wonderful experience. Nice people, nice food.

The Crazy Fries definitely lived up to the hype! The fries were loaded with generous portions of chicken and pork, and both were incredibly flavorful, tender, and perfectly seasoned. Every bite had a great balance of crispy fries and savory meat. The only thing that didn't quite stand out for me was the chicharrón--it wasn't my favorite compared to how amazing the chicken and pork were. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Next time, I'm skipping the fries and trying the 3 empanadas for $14--they look too good to pass up! The Crazy Fries definitely lived up to the hype! I love empanadas. They're flaky, savory, and usually delicious. I often can't pass an empanada stand. But I was super disappointed with Crazy Empanada at the San Ramon Farmer's Market. I tried a beef empanada which came with three sauces: a salsa, a creamy (almost tartar-like) one, and a green onion oil one. The empanada itself was super oily and greasy- all I tasted was oil and no amount of sauce helped. And it wasn't flaky at all. Not my cup of tea. read more

Huge empanadas! My work hired the truck to come onsite for a work event and it was such a hit. We got to try the chicken, beef, and veggie empanada. They are quick and get your food to you nice and hot! The empanadas are super crispy and the filing is flavorful and good! Their fries are also super good and crispy! read more

We went all in! Colombian food truck at Fremont Street Eats. We ordered the arepa which is a bunch of good stuff including chicken & beef on fried plantains. Then we got the Patacon which had chicken, beef and pork belly all in salad format encased in a corn bowl. Delicious. The plantains we delicious. Of course we got some Empenadas. They were fried which is new. We were too full to eat them so we'll have them tomorrow. read more

They came to First Wednesday Street Fest in Walnut Creek this August. We tried the vegan empanadas. The empanadas were surprisingly bigger than I had thought I would be getting. They are fried rather than baked but still very delicious - had a potato/veggie filling. Although on the pricier side, getting three to split was pretty filling. Wait time was about 15-20 min and servers were friendly. Would like to try their fries next time. read more

Showed up to off the grid, decided to try this place. The empanadas are to die for, and the arepa lechoncita was huge!!!!! Wonderful flavor and amazing!!!!!! Great service too, i recommend!!!!! read more
I have seen the truck drive around throughout the area, and I was happy to finally catch them at the San Ramon Farmers Market. Everyone at the market had their fries, and they looked amazing. It is definitely an eye catcher. I was feeling ambitious that day, and I ordered the Crazy Fries. I believe that this is meant to feed 4 people, however I got it to myself. It is loaded with shredded chicken and beef with fried pork belly on top. They top it off with avocado and their homemade sauce. 10/10 dish. It can stretch you 3 meals if you really want to. I hope I can catch them again so I can order something smaller next time. read more

Tried the crazy fries with no pork. I usually get the 3 empanadas and I have to say I'm not going back to empanadas (while delicious) the crazy fries are spectacular! The meat(s) are well seasoned, the fries compliments the dish, the avocado, cheese, and special sauce top it off just right! The portion size to the price is just right. I couldn't finish it all and could have shared with someone and both be full. This is for sure a go to! The entire service is great (believe it's locally family run) they recalled my friend getting a certain order last time and said it before she could even order it which was such a sweet touch. Can't wait to have them again! read more

#5 Crazy Arepas $16 I thought was a lot, but then compare it to a large burger. Seems to be equal esp since this is 1 oz short of a LB. 98% meat, 1.75% maize, .25 fresh avo. Bacon was cubed and deep fried. Chicken and beef was stewed and shredded. The flavor in the meats is germane for the cuisine. No need for the 3 sauces. I did try the 3 but decided to leave it naked. Saw the loaded fries coming off the truck - gut busters for sure. Office peer got the chicken empanada. It was of decent size - 3 normal bites or two large chew like a hamster bites. It's the same chicken that was in my arepas. She said it was a 7/10 with it being on the doughy side. I think $5.50 for an unknown amount of protein could be holding people back, but what do I know. But that's why I don't buy tamales, unless I know. I would certainly eat here again. read more

I had Colombian food when I lived in Florida, but I don't remember it being like this. Perhaps there is a difference in Colombian street eats...not sure. This is a food Truck that hangs around the Livermore area, I'm not sure where else they venture. The Bright Yellow colors caught my eye and I decided to give it a try. They were parked right outside Altamont this particular day. ~ Patacon Antioqueño - 4/5 I'm still not sure what I just ate...lol. Not certain this dish tasted like the description. I wouldn't have known I ate Plantains, if it weren't for the description. Hearty, tasty, good flavor. There is a lot going on... ~ Crazy Arepa - 4/5 This is an odd one to me. The Fried pieces of Lechon were absolutely brilliant! However, I felt there was a bit too much going on... This thing is Hearty, Heavy, Overstuffed and has a bit too many flavors and textures going on for my taste. It's hard to eat, since it's overstuffed. It's still good, I just had to dice and separate it, before eating it. I'll definitely give the other dishes a try read more
OMG Crazy Empanada Truck at Concannon winery in Livermore for a wine pickup evening. So good!! I got the Crazy Fries and three beef empanadas. The fries were loaded with incredible fried Colombian pork belly, pulled pork, cheese. Packed with flavor and porky goodness. Pro tip, ask for the jalapeños on the fries. Empanadas we're parked with beef and potatoes. Total bill was $31 bucks. Awesome!! read more

This truck parked in front of shadow puppet brewery. My boyfriend ordered the cheese, beef, chicken, Hawaiian empanada, and the salchipapas with "sausage", cheese, quail egg, and pink homemade sauce. Out of all of them the one that had the most flavor was the beef... or their salsa. For some reason the chicken was mostly full of potato's so you could barely taste the flavors of the chicken. (I.E. not even sure how the chicken was seasoned or what was used to season it because the potato's were bland and overwhelming. My expectations from the Hawaiian empanadas were that the filling would have been evenly distributed however, all I tasted was cheese and one piece of pineapple. Later on, I found the ham but after numerous bites. There was 2 empanadas that we had were SUPER hard. Like an old person can loose their teeth off of... I've had plenty of empanadas before and they were never like this.. The one saving grace of this place was their salsa. It has a great balance of flavor, acidity, and heat. The salchipapas said it has sausage but it tasted like hot dog. The most items that was on here was the fries and cheese. read more
