Service here is good! We were seated and our server answered all ok questions because it was the first time we dined in. We ordered one of the combos and did the build your own combo. I love how you can chose to have half a pound of the seafood of your choice and mix and match as you please versus getting a whole pound of something. The freedom to try multiple things was a big selling point for us. We tried the mild spice, and couldn't even taste any spice so if when we go back, we definitely will get medium. The seafood was great, I just wish the Cajun flavor really spoke through the food like the food back home in Texas is. I love and crush crabs for a living... it is rumored that I sat and crushed 25 blue crabs in one sitting... 4 hours... stab wounds all over my finger... so I am a glutton for seafood... The price tag of $46.95 was pretty high for all you can eat... not because of the lack of volume being offered, but because of the quality of the seafood being offered. The fresh oyster, snow crab legs and shrimp with the head attached is pretty good. The appetizers and sides are generally fried and great for kids but you don't come here to eat that... so limit your consumption! But because all kids under 3 feet tall are free... the appetizers are great for their meal! The stone crab was horrible on my visit... the freezing and thawing destroyed its flesh and so the texture was like it was blended in sea water... so watery and powdery.... it was nasty! Updated Review: Second visit was not as great as the second visit. Arrived at 9p after driving almost an hour to get there. I had hyped up the place so much and tried my best get back as quickly as I could. This time I had three friends come to witness what I had, unfortunately they did not get the 5 star experience I did. Now having only 15 minutes left before the kitchen closed we were rushed to place an order. Our food did not come out at the same time and we waited for everyone to be served. We were eating and suddenly the TVs went off, then the music, and the subtle get out was felt. We were disappointed overall and suddenly the drive didn't seem worth it. Later found out that one of my friends got sick from just eating shrimp. Hook and Reel offers a la carte with faster service and is much closer. All the thumbs up!!! This place was GREAT! If you love fresh seafood this is the place for you! The quality of the steamed seafood was great. The shrimp were clean even though they are not split you don't see a vein. The tables are set apart which gives the right amount of space to be messy and eat yourself into a food coma if you want. The time limit is two hours and that works well because within the first hour you will be full. The service was good, our server was very attentive and friendly. He was friendly and professional he had jokes and was able to take a good joke. The atmosphere was clean and free of the odor that you normally associate with an ayce seafood restaurant. What you are able to smell are the spices used in the steamers, never was it overwhelming. There was no problem with parking, and they have outside seating for warm afternoons. The stars of the food were the crab balls , sweet potato fries, scallops, dungeons crab claws , fried and steamed shrimp. Now why I did not give five stars. The steamed food was overwhelmed by the sauce or oil the covered it. This made everything taste the same and the textures of the foods blended together so you don't enjoy the different natural flavors of each different food. I order from Crazy Crab often. I always get seafood boils. I've tried their snow crabs, king crabs, blue crabs, Dungeness crabs, crawfish and occasionally lobster tails. I'm certain the snow crabs, king crabs, lobster tails and possibly the crawfish are frozen before cooked in the boiler. The crawfish aren't as good here as they are elsewhere. You can make as many orders as you want and everything comes out family- style. We got the snow crab legs, crawfish and shrimp. Everything came out relatively fast the first round, but unfortunately our group got jipped the following rounds. We order another round and some how it never made it to the kitchen. After twenty minutes we were old the table next to us actually got served our order. Another fifteen minutes goes back and our food comes out. Come to find out they aren't! Pretty impressed with what this place has to offer. You can choose the unlimited option for a set price and are able to choose from anything on the menu, as much as you'd like. Pro Tip: don't fill yourself up with their endless sides (even though it may be tempting). Your best bet is to honestly just order rounds of crab legs before touching the sides. I must however say, the crab balls, clam chowder, calamari and mozzarella sticks were BOMB. Also super surprisingly, their sashimi was incredible quality. Did not expect it from an "all-you-can-eat" type place but boy was it fresh and delicious (even the wasabi was quality and actually had a hell of a KICK to it)! Service: for as busy as this place has been, they had pretty speedy service and were clearly able to flip tables fast. My boyfriend and I took our time and were probably at the restaurant for about an hour and a half before leaving (no rush to get us out which was nice). Throughout our meal we had various requests for small things such as butter, salt and extra gloves which were all given very quickly upon request. My only CON is that because the mains (I.e. muscles, scallops, crab legs, shrimp etc.) are boiled with corn, potato and andouille all of our crab legs were over cooked. It got to a point where it was so difficult scraping the meat off of the shell walls that we honestly gave up. Pro Tip: When they bring your bag of boil out, they double bag it and twist the bag closed so their not leaking juices. I noticed the word "CRAB" from across the street! Yes, my usual visit to Captain Pells introduced me to the opening of Crazy Crab. They are within a stones throw away(across the street). After following their Facebook page, I discovered the introduction of their AYCE options. Starting on August 20, they were offering $39.99 for nearly everything on their menu except for prime items like Lobster, Dungeoness Crabs and pricier seafood items. They provide you with their AYCE menu. They will take 3-4 orders at a time and serve it family style. The fried food was delicious and served hot. Their seafood bags: crabs, scallops, and accompanying fillers(corn, sausage) were good. The blue crabs were TINY but the meat on the tiny crabs were hefty. We tried several of their spices and enjoyed the garlic butter over the spiced seasonings. They did not have the Manila clams or stone crabs... There was a nice selection of sashimi that many of our group enjoyed. Service was fantastic. We asked if dessert was included and the manager let us try their beignets and gave us free ice cream cups. They are not Captain Pells. They are more in line with Chasing Tails. It's a real bargain for the $39.99. Kids are either half price or free. They have plastic bins and lots of utensils. The napkins are a bit skimpy and I would recommend big paper towels rolls because the bags are full of liquid. You won't have any stomach space to eat everything on the menu. I have to admit the flavor at Hot N Juicy is a little better, but eating all of this seafood compensates for that. You know when you go to crab spot and the crabs are super small. You definitely don't get that here. Food comes out really quick. Our server was great. Drinks, tin cans and our tables were taken care of every couple of minutes. Even though they opened a couple of weeks ago you can't tell. Even though its a buffet they don't try to skimp you with the portions. Also liked how the usual corn, potatoes and sausage does not need to be included with each order. Snow crabs quality is good but not Captain George's great but i guess good enough for an AYCE seafood place in the DMV area. The sea scallops and the cocktail shrimp was decently sized and out of all the seafood i tasted, it seems pretty fresh. Also got the fried calamari and clam strips-- was alright since i doubt it was house made and at least the batter wasnt too salty. Only downside is the price since its a bit steep @ $46.95 per person. Would come back! Pro tip: if you too lazy like me to peel your shrimp, get the cocktail shrimp and just dip it in the boil sauce instead-- almost same thing as getting the boiled in seasoning headless shrimp. read more

I can say that they have already mastered the time to cook each seafood and I appreciate that. We got the Crazy Crab mix. Very tasty lots of garlic which I love! The snow crab legs shell is very soft, not sure why? Overcooked? Too salty as well. I think when boiling crab legs, you are not supposed to salt it since they are naturally salty. Shrimp is very good!! Perfectly cook! Raw oysters taste clean. Hubby loved the crawfish, fresh and perfectly cook. read more

Food: 5/5. Service: 5/5. Environment: 4/5 Environment: the place is pretty decent size. They have some space between each tables due to Covid-19. No reservation need it but I recommended to come early before busy hours. We got there around like 4:30 by 5 the place is pack and some have to sit outside. The place is nice and fill with sea decorations. One thing I got bother is flies pretty much flying around a lot. I think because the smell of seafood attracts them. They have some buckets on table for trash or seafood shells which nice. Food: they had all you can eat for September which is great and it lead me here. The oyster was amazing we order at least like 5 times. Calamari not very good, pretty small and tons of flour over it. Hushbaby was ok not the best just flour balls not much garlic favor. We went to other place and they the best hushbaby ever. The smell of garlic and whatever favor in there make me want to order again and again. I'm not a big fan of husbaby balls till I tried them. Friesd fish was pretty decent. Don't recommend chowder soup for sure. The seafood like blue crabs, crawfish, crab leg, scallop, mussels were good. I like the Cajun sauce here but they did have a lot of garlic it numb my tongue a bit. The other sauce they have which all favor wasn't good too oily and no favor. They give ice cream for desert, very stand ice cream but still nice. Overall, the food was good. Services: they do check on us sometimes. Friendly and honest. One thing I dont like is parking space. Three of us stopped by on a weekday evening due to a sudden seafood craving and there was no wait for us to be seated. We ate off the ala carte menu because the AYCE seemed too much for us, and we made the right decision because they give you a LOT of food. We got 2 lbs of snow crab legs, 1lb of headless shrimp, 1lb of the manila clams w/ a mix of the cajun & garlic butter; it also came with some corn cobs, sausages and potatoes. And oh my gosh, everything was so g o o d. We were shocked at how perfectly seasoned everything was. Nothing was overly salty or bland. The highlight was definitely the shrimp, which was sweet and plump. The only downside was we ordered a side of the steamed rice & it smelled/tasted spoiled. We let our waiter know and ordered a side of calamari instead, which he ended up giving to us for free due to the rice problem. While service was a bit slow near the end (it was around closing time), everything came out relatively quickly and we didn't have any major problems with service.
