I like this place. I almost did not try it based on some of the reviews but I found the food to be good, fresh and well prepared. Wow what an assortment of soups (6) and dumplings! The Shu Mai and potstickers were excellent. The Bao was very good. They do a soup that feels like Kim Chi. I love it. Today it was loaded with seafood. Spicy shrimp was delicious. Baby bok choi was very good. All the vegetable dishes are good. Sushi was good. The people who left negative reviews expect way too much for the price. Get real. Please look at your receipt when leaving the register. The cashier added a 20% to my card even though I drew through the tip line on the receipt she gave me. I tip the person that waits on me and not the cashier who I encounter briefly. I spoke to someone and they assured me it was the credit card company error and I would only be charged the amount I agreed to. I consider this practice of stealing. So I'm a firm believer in the idea that most Chinese buffets aren't too different from each other. They're either four stars or one star. This Chinese buffet is on the higher end of the four star ones, though. For cooking options, not only do they offer the hibachi, they also offer a soup bar where you pick a broth to cook a variety of items in for a pretty delicious soup. Their sushi is pretty on point. Nothing super special, but very good for a buffet. The rest of their options are literally standard. My favorites are honey chicken, the the crab rangoons, and the fried rice. But, I'm a simple creature. For dinner on the Thursday night we were, they put out the main options of fried crabs and fried shrimps. They looked great, but we were there for lunch, so I didn't get to sample them. I was confused about the lack of snow crab leg clusters on the dinner bar, though. I would have expected them. Oh well. Ultimately, this place accomplished my goal. I brought 10 people here to have a great time and a great meal for my birthday, and mission accomplished. read more

The whole family went here for Thanksgiving because we were trying something new for the holiday. This is officially our new favorite Asian buffet restaurant! Sushi, American Chinese food, phô bar, hibachi grill, seafood like raw oysters, cooked clams, stone crab, crawfish, and head-on prawns. It was all awesome and well cooked. Normally when you walk down a regular Asian buffet it's all flavorless sauces and over cooked food, but everything here was fresh and colorful and smelled of yummy spices. The price is also pretty good at $13. Even their holiday buffet was only $17 for the adults. They measure your child's height for children's buffet prices. Weird, but whatever works. I'll admit I was kind of reluctant to go to Crazy Buffet. While it came up as one of the highest rated Chinese Buffets in Orlando it's a little far from me and I wasn't too sure about it. Anyway, I lost the battle and my family set off for Crazy Buffet. My first impression was that it was packed. Which is a good thing for buffets, because that means they are constantly bringing out new stuff. Kids prices are determined by height instead of age (I'm guessing because it's harder to lie about your kid's height). Luckily I have short children, but if your kids run tall you may take issue with this. The buffet seemed clean and there was a very good selection. I'm a little paranoid about buffet cleanliness but I didn't see anything that freaked me out. I'm not sure I'd go back. The texture of the crab meat was chalky though, disappointing. Probably the added flash fry was too much for it. The black bean clams, steamed whole fish and mussels on the other hand, were tasty & fresh. Westernized Chinese fare make up most of the buffet (eg General Tsao's chicken, sweet and sour pork etc) but there were other variations & options (eg dumplings, yellow rice, salt and pepper shrimp etc), and there was even a vietnamese pho noodle bar also. I couldn't stop eating sushi - I almost felt like staying there and not returning back to my table, eating straight from the buffet lol - and you don't pay extra for this. I will tell you that when it got somewhat busy, the staff seemed a little lackluster with coming to the table: I needed more water, and only one time did they refill. So I have been to some really terrible Asian buffets lately, so maybe my rating might be a little high for this one, but I am so happy to finally be at a buffet that does not gross me out. They have a huge selection of food. They have hibachi, a pho station(I don't know what else to call it) oysters, clams, sushi, and all the other regular buffet items(too much to mention). In one word terrible. The soups were terrible. Very blah. The food itself was average. The other review was for the oysters. There was a limit of only 6 oysters per person. They said that its costing them more money so they have to limit them for their customers. Go elsewhere ,the other buffets do not limit their oysters. The only positive review I can give is for the sushi. It was very tasty as well as the pho. However they should be ashamed of themselves for charging kids meals by the height of the kids. We brought out two grandkids one was 8 the other 10 ,the 8 year old was charged a child's price of $6.99 very fair. The 10 year old through no fault of his own is tall not crazy talk. He's about 5 feet. They charge by the height so he had to pay full price $13.99. That is extremely unfair It's crazy to think that one has to carry your child's birth certificate to go out to eat! This seems to really cater to Chinese and there were several groups speaking only Chinese when we were there, in addition to the weekday work crowd of government employees, nursing home workers, and contractors. Some items on the buffet only a few could love, like pickled chicken feet, taro buns, red bean mini jiaozi (sweet, sticky), curried tripe (tender, spicy). There's a small selection of dim sum in steamer baskets that were over steamed, but not bad. Rest of the buffet is Chinese-American, like you expect (honey chicken, cream cheese wontons, orange shrimp), and straight up American (lasagna, spinach casserole, mac 'n' cheese), wings, onion rings. I have been looking for a good Chinese buffet since moving here from Texas. For such a cosmopolitan area as Orlando, one would expect better quality independent restaurants. I have eaten at several Chinese Buffets on the Mexican Border that would put Orlando's offerings to shame. Crazy Buffet is the lowest of the low. Those who equate a cheap fountain entrance and lines of buffet offerings with quality and/or price worthiness will love Crazy Buffet. Yes, you can "fill your gut," but less expensive and better quality can be found at Costco's sample stations. The problem is food quality and flavor. The first is poor due to leftovers from lunch served for dinner, and the kitchen's inability to adequately prepare the pre-cooked, pre-prepared, and pre-packaged food from an unknown purveyor. Then, for the flavor....(and over powering odor from the steam table.) It is not putrid, but is unlike any associated with Chinese cuisine. Neither management nor cooks could not possibly be verifying the food they are selling. (Or, are they? Or, do they care) In a lifetime of eating at Chinese Buffets, I make the following observations: 1. Someone wants to open a Chinese Buffet in one of the 50 states. 2. They find a Chinese financier/consultant. 3. This person (remarkably) knows of one for sale that is relatively new, and making a great profit. 4. He convinces the aspiring restauranteur to buy. He does and embarks on a training time provided by the consultant. Weeks pass and the consultant leaves. Sales remain high as does the food quality. 5. Soon, with the inevitable employee turnover, costs for food and previously over reported sales and underreported costs the new owner cuts service, food quantity and quality. 6. One of my favorite buffets, they are a buck or two more expensive than others, but the quality of the food and the selection more than make up for it. Like most buffets, the atmosphere is a little hokey, but when I'm there to enjoy the four sided all-you-can-eat sushi station, i can forgive them.
