When you first walk in this place is huge with tons of seating available, definitely a good spot for a big group. Once you walk in they sit you down, take your drink order, and then you can start eating. They have a pretty big selection of food and a fresh hibachi station. They had a nice selection of sushi, fried food and desserts. One thing that stood out to me the most was that for a buffet the entire restaurant was extremely clean. The hibachi, sushi, and ribs were some of my favs. I went during lunch and they had a nice selection but I heard for dinner they have even more items. This was a perfect date as I'm a huge sushi lover and this place kept popping up on my feed. We decided to come here for an early dinner and we really enjoyed it. They have different prices for lunch and dinner and dinner starts around 3:30pm. We arrived and it was packed but to our surprise, it was huge inside ! I was shocked at how big both the dining area and food area was. Once seated, the server comes over to take your drink order and then you are free to roam the all you can buffet. I hit the sushi area first but had to be very careful as I'm deathly allergic to avocado. The staff was so nice , to make me fresh rolls to avoid cross contamination and that really made me feel good. They have a hibachi area, fresh raw seafood area with crawfish and oysters and shrimp, hot area with lo mein, a variety of meats, rice and spring rolls. The dim sum area was just ok and then there was a soup area. We enjoyed all the goodness of the food , it was flavorful and very fresh and the restaurant was very clean. My only negative was when we were leaving , there was a huge sign that said " NO PETS" and there was a couple at the hostess area with her 2 French bull dogs and no one on staff confronted them. We noticed the faces of the people walking in and out in disgust as we love dogs but not inside of restaurants. The people who hate on Ocean Buffet are just trying to gatekeep! This place is AMAZING. It's clean and filled with lots of great Chinese, American, and seafood options. We went for Mother's Day and they had a lobster special. My mom was over the moon when she got TWO whole lobsters! It was about $45/person and it was so worth it. I also tried other dishes like the prime rib and snow crab legs. Both dishes were so juicy and delicious! It was quite busy since it was Mother's Day so we actually waited for about an hour and went to Dirty Dillard's in the meantime. I will for sure be coming back on another weekend. I had been seeing this place all over Tik Tok, so curiosity got the best of me and I decided to give it a try! We came for dinner on a Tuesday and it was not busy at all. I was immediately impressed with how new and modern this place looks. The draw-in to this place is the expansive buffet selection. Not only do you have your typical options, but you also have hibachi, soup, desserts and an impressive amount of seafood!! I tried a little bit of everything and enjoyed most of it. I did get some white rice that tasted hard and one other item from the hot bar that was a little cold, but other than that everything else was pretty great. The buffet area also felt very clean and sanitary, which is a must for me. The price depends on what time you go. I was greeted and taken to my table and my server was waiting and took my drink order. I went to get some food, and they have so many options. Review for the weekend menu. Not sure how that differs from the weekday lunch menu. So this is a tough one. In Aug 26, it's $32 a person for a buffet. That's a lot. So what do you get? I will say for a buffet, it is on the smaller side. So if you're looking for "a million" choices, this isn't the place. But what I can say is that the quality is ultra high for a buffet, bordering on a standard good restaurant. The sushi station was huge for a buffet. The hibachi/teppinyaki station was also huge. Nice carving area with roast beef and sausage plus LA kalbi. And lots of really good seafood including multiple types of crab clusters and crawfish. 4-5 Chinese American dishes. A small selection of sauted veg. Selection of fried wings, egg rolls, shrimp, etc. 4 or 5 soups. 4 or 5 dim sum. Premade salads. And a few dessert options. The quality was solid. Were the crab clusters a bit overcooked? Sure. The ribs were meaty and tender but not falling off the bone. The pepper steak was on point. It was GOOD! But here's the problem. Is it worth $32? I could have eaten a solid rack of ribs plus sides but it wouldn't have been as good as a chain BBQ place and it's more expensive. I could load up on plate after plate of sushi but 3-4 rolls of decent sushi for $32? Maybe. I could gorge myself on fish and crab. But could I get $32 or more of value that was as good or better than a good restaurant? Probably not. What you get here is variety for the money but it would be hard to get value for it. This is a place where the total is not worth more than the sum of its parts. I mean, with a soda, tax, and tip, you're getting close to $50 a person. For a buffet. Not in Vegas. High ceiling with good welcome courtyard. We did not see gingerbread lobster but that did not turn us down. The blue crab is big but the meat is powdery. What find the best is bull frog leg. The baby clam just below average. Sushi is very weak on selection. I have been many buffet sushi but here not up to the standard. The stone crab meat is shred easily. Dim sum also weak. This is the fourth time I get food to go at Ocean buffet and can only say it is such a great deal! For 14.99 a pound you can fill up your box with sushi, sashimi, seafood and steak. If you do a mix between these 4 and other hot food such as fried chicken it comes down to 12.99 a pound. Ok so I finally had a chance to try out the newest addition to the Chinese buffet scene right here in Orlando... and let me just say... I was pleasantly surprised. So after months of seeing this new spot all over social media with all types of mixed reviews... I decided to give it a try for dinner this week. There was a big variety of fresh seafood, sushi, Chinese, and dim sum options. They even had a build your own hibachi station with chefs available to cook your items right in front of you. I would have to say the standout items for me were definitely the seafood...it was all super fresh and was replenished fairly quickly. Now for the important question... was the buffet worth the price?... so for dinner I paid 34.99 before taxes and tip (lunch prices are a bit cheaper)... I would say that it is worth it...ONLY IF... you indulge in the higher priced item on the buffet line like the seafood, sushi, and steak... I've been hearing a lot about Oceans Buffet lately (specifically the large amount of food offerings), so when my husband and I were in Orlando the other night, we decided to give them a try. We arrived about 2 hours before closing on a Sunday night and they were still packed. We scanned the QR code at the hostess stand in order to join the waitlist and waited outside in their huge front patio/waiting area for about 45 minutes before we were texted that our table was ready. Apparently, they also texted about 4 other parties that their table was ready as well, so there was a bit of confusion as to who was texted first/truly next in line but it was shortly resolved. The restaurant is large, spacious and clean with modern decor using light wood tones and the color orange. Booth and table seating is available and my husband and I were seated at a table. The wait staff was attentive and took away dirty dishes quickly. There were a lot of people, so navigating the buffet was a bit challenging at times but not a big deal. There truly is a lot of food offerings in theory but there were at least 10 empty dishes the first time we went through the buffet line. However, throughout the evening, dishes were continually refilled and new offerings joined the buffet, but there were still a handful of empty dishes at any given moment. Later in the night, we saw brisket and chicken teriyaki skewers join the buffet. The chicken skewers were my favorite of the chicken dishes and my husband really liked the brisket, but it was gone very quickly from the buffet. We both thought the sweet and sour chicken was overcooked and tough and I couldn't finish the piece of ham that I got as it had no flavoring and the texture was too chewy. At one point in the event, lobster (in the form of a seafood boil) made an appearance but the three men in front of me piled their plates high with the lobster as soon as it arrived on the buffet, leaving nothing but empty shells for the rest of us. I wanted to look for vegetable sushi on the sushi table but very few sushi rolls were labeled, so I passed. Most of the food that we tried was average in taste when compared to other Asian buffets and my husband thought that the $31.99 per adult was overpriced. Nice to see the Fashion Square mall get a new tenant! I was excited to see a new restaurant pop up! They've been opened for about a week now, and I've heard good things. They've were packed when we arrived at 7p on a Wednesday, which is a good sign. We waited about 10 minutes to be sat. We got our drinks, then it was off to the buffet line. They had a huge array of Asian foods! I started with the sushi, which was extremely fresh and delicious! Surprisingly good quality for a buffet! Course two was Dim Sum with Xiao Long Bao and Shu Mi. Both excellent! There was this black bun that didn't taste good. It oozed what taste and smelt like bad egg yolk. I recommend avoiding it. The crab legs were picked over, with small legs being the only thing left. The hot table had the usual Chinese buffet offering. The Pineapple Sticky Rice was fantastic though! They also had Hibachi, but there was a decent wait for it. The desserts were hit and miss though. The coffee pastry was the best one. The restaurant had a good amount of seating and was well spaced out. It's worth trying once, but the value for the price really isn't there. I went on a week day in December near 3 pm, a couple weeks after they opened. My main goal was to try the sushi but I was intrigued by their dim sum station. First of all the restaurant has beautiful decor which is sleek and modern. The buffets are spread out so the self service area is not crowded. They have very clean and neat restrooms. They don't have seasoning on the table and your server provides items like chopsticks, napkins, seafood crackers etc. I thought the sushi looked awesome and took one piece of every roll. I felt like a kid in a candy store. However back at the table I was disappointed. It seemed that they make 4 or 5 kinds of the same roll and they look different because they might add roe or avocado on top or change out the sauce. The sashimi was ok. I did enjoy the seaweed salad. The soup bar is very appealing as they have 5 or six kettles lined up against a wall. The soup I got was egg drop and they had green onions and other toppings right there. The dim sum area was mostly empty. They had chicken feet which I skipped and a small dumpling with little flavor. Later on as dinner was being laid out they had a brown bread bun with egg on the inside. A gold streak painted on top. This was a new to me so I was happy to try it. They had a seafood counter with shrimp and shell fish. I noticed a chef putting out crab legs and they were big. I was kind of waiting and he indicated that I could take some. Right after I took some, a supervisor came over and placed a red sign that said dinner only. Oops! They were chilled and fresh and I had to ask the server for crackers to open the shell. The hot bar had lots of choices the lunch has these little salt and pepper hot crabs. Items I really liked were the traditional stir fried green beans and other veggies. They have sausage and other meats which are hot and steak is served for dinner. It was not cut on the bias and was chewy. I did not try the hibachi option where you choose your ingredients and a chef stir-fries it for you. The desserts were good and they have individual ice cream cups and tiny mouse and cake bites. So the Ocean Buffet finally opens its doors...and of course I'm there for their soft opening. The place is huge and the space is well designed. Modern design and they stay far away from the neon lights and Chinese landscape murals that you find at all the other Asian buffets. Feels like a Vegas style buffet. There are plenty of options that are offered at this new location. Your usual Chinese option are available along with hibachi, soup station and sushi. The sushi offerings are definitely the best (for buffet style) in the area especially since Mikado in Altamonte closed its doors. A plethora of unique rolls are available and even for the lunch option there is sashimi to partake. The Chinese options were pretty run of the mill and for this day nothing really stood out to me. I do enjoy seeing a dim sum section as well as a carving station. There was also an appealing seafood area with large half portion of crab and peeled shrimp. There is plenty of food available, fresh seafood like king crabs, stone crabs, fresh oysters, shrimps and then of course sashimi, different kind of sushi, also good amount of dim sums (very tasty also, esp the running egg yolk black custard buns). Chinese stir fry, very worth mentioning are the lobster stir fries, two different clams stir fries, also there is chicken on a stick, beef and more. Desert they have ice cream, mango cream cake and chocolate cream cake and Oreo cream cake and Chinese donuts! On and all it is very worth it even with the wait. Great service with plenty to choose from I went during dinner and lunch time and they do serve different options. Buffet area looks a little small when I fist entered but they had everything that I would choose to eat. Wait time varies depends on what time of day you dine here. The food was decent. The price was high. I think the lunch special of $19 would be definitely worth it, but we went on a Sunday and it is quite pricey at $32. If you're into seafood, they have a lot of options. Although my group said the crab legs weren't good, but went to town on the oysters. I really enjoyed the coconut shrimp and there was a sushi roll with mango that was really delicious. The dim sum section was actually pretty good: dumplings were decent, they had black bean ribs with good flavor, and salty egg custards were another favorite.
