I feel like I should write a review to follow Jenn's. I read her review while I was deciding whether or not to purchase a Groupon for Crazy/Beautiful Hair Studio, and I decided to go for the Groupon. After playing telephone tag with Sandy (turns out she checks the voicemail left over the 2 days of the week they are closed!) , I was able to set up an appointment for the following day. The following day, people! That's pretty darn good! While I was on the phone to confirm the appointment time, I was never under the impression that the woman on the other end of the line didn't want to be there, or that I was wasting her time. In fact, I spelled my own last name wrong, and we had a good laugh about it (I blame school for my lack of two brain cells to rub together). On to the actual appointment: once you walk in, you'll be greeted by Sandy's adorable puppy, Oxland (who I'm pretty sure is a one of a breed of non-shedding "hypo-allergenic" dogs). The waiting area is spotless and comfortable, and I was promptly asked if I wanted anything to drink. Talk about hospitality! Mina and I were able to discuss exactly what I wanted from my haircut, and she didn't bug me about my lack of styling- something I am constantly annoyed with in other stylists. The head massage was ridiculously good, and the cut ended up being perfect! All in all, I am very impressed with both customer service as well as Mina's attention to detail, and I'm sure Sandy and Mallory pay the same attention to their clients' needs. Finally! Some ladies that know how to handle curly hair! I actually signed up for Yelp to review them. Sandy, (the owner and who I was told to see), wasn't taking new clients, however recommended me to Mallory, who has studied under her. Even though Sandy couldn't take me, she was still present and spent time making a couple recommendations and ensuring I was happy with the cut. They made sure I knew exactly what they were doing, and Mallory always asked if I was comfortable with the length before putting in new layers. I was super impressed by both of them! Even after washing and styling my hair myself (the true test!) I was happy with the shape & style. After getting compliments a couple times a day about my hair since then, I thought it only fair to give them kudos! Two yrs of searching for a curly hair stylist in Edmonton is finally over- these girls are awesome! read more

Sandy is a superior stylist, gifted at both colour and cutting with precision. Her artistic talent provides her with an insight into what style will truly bring out the best in a person. You can rely on Sandy's expertise to ensure that you will look phenomenal. In addition to her talents as a stylist, Sandy is a total professional and takes great care of me as a client. I'm always treated with respect and kindness. It is a treat to have my hair taken care of by someone who is so talented. I never have to worry about the results. I can truly say (for the first time in my life) to a stylist 'Do whatever you think is best' and it always turns out gorgeous! Just 4 days before going to Crazy Beautiful Hair Studio, I had a horrendous hair dye experience by a stylist who worked out of her basement. Sandy - the owner of Crazy Beautiful - let me come in for a free consult to plan what we can do to fix it. I came in 2 days later and from the second I walked in - I've received the best service I ever have in my salon experience by both Sandy and Mallory. To top it off - I received an amazing head massage during the conditioning process AND a marvelous hot towel on top of my head. The color and tone I am now left with is exactly what I wanted when I originally went to the other stylist out of her basement. I'd give 10 stars if I could. They give you honest advice and you can count on them to tell you what is going to look good or not. Malory, Sandy, and Jodene go the extra mile in making sure that all your hair needs are met. I have to say that all the girls (including their new stylist Elena you have to try her), are fabulous. I have been a very happy and satisfied client since 2014. Every time I go I leave with a perfect highlights and style and I think "Can it be any better than this?" Truly this salon is a hidden gem. Had a great experience. Bought the Groupon online for the salon, called and easily made the appointment. The girl who I spoke with on the phone was polite and friendly, and very helpful. They were able to email me a confirmation a day before my appointment. I had booked in with Mallory, and she was awesome! Did a beautiful job on the trim and pleasant to talk to. The other staff there were also personable and very welcoming. The decor is lovely, salon is immaculate and clean. Recomend - great place, great prices too! read more

Bought a group on for this salon after having a very lovely and informative phone conversation with the owner. I was promptly booked in with Mallory and I'm so glad I was! The salon was clean and open, bright and inviting. And Mallory was unreal. I mean it. My hair came out perfect, even though I gave her a pretty hazy idea of what I wanted. I wrote a review a couple months ago that is filtered for some reason. I would like to state again that I had my hair colored and cut just last week. Again the color is amazing and I have gotten many compliments in the short time since my appointment. My hair cut again - makes me fill unique and inspirational for my age (which is 57!) I walked in crazy and walked out beautiful. Mina did an expert job at cutting & colouring my hair. She was a good listener when we discussed what I wanted, and had some good suggestions. I liked her self confidence and enthusiasm with her craft e.g. "Oh good, I love doing that cut". Also, I enjoyed her sense of humour - we both spent much of the time laughing. Crazy/beautiful hair studio has a fantastic welcoming enviroment. Both Sandy and Malory are professional and talented stylists, who provide spectaular customer service. Definitely one of the best experiences I have had in last 4 years living in Edmonton. I had my cut with Mallory and she is amazing and I love my hair! I bought a groupon for my cut and was a little concerned about how it may go. But...she was a patient and great hairstylist. THE BEST! Mallory has been styling my hair for the past year and I can't say enough about her talent -- I have yet to have a "bad hair day" since finding Crazy Beautiful and that says a lot -- trust me -- you won't be disappointed! I don't understand the previous review, though I do know everyone has there moments and we should rush to judge the business for a few misspoken words.
