Very expensive for what it is and everything is extra. Need more employees to give instructions and make the flow of people faster.

Brought our 8 year old son here, and he enjoyed! There were a lot of fun stations to try, and we were pleasantly surprised by the variety of activities( we wondered how entertaining it could be beyond "coloring", lol). It took us about 3 hrs to do everything. most of the time consuming part was either taking time to sit and color, or waiting in line for the crayon melting stations. You get to walk away with a lot of neat "souvenirs" just from doing the various activities. Our favorite was the station that adds a black/white picture/outline of you to a coloring page to color Buy tickets online to save a few dollars per ticket since the admission is $20 per person. read more

I don't understand why this place is so expensive. They rely much too heavily on screen activities which was a huge disappointment. And why is it so dark? This was not the fun, creative space I expected. The staff was polite but certainly not engaging. They seemed bored. My kid was interested in a couple things but for the most part this fell flat as she doesn't have any interest in video game type things. We won't go back especially for the price. read more

Wow I absolutely enjoyed this place. Ok I brought my 4 yo with me so she could enjoy it too! Parking by Macy's at willowbend mall in the parking garage. Follow the bright crayola arrow inside the mall. I bought tickets online $20/pp. scan your ticket barcode (no line on a Saturday 11:30am) and you each get a bag with a bath scrubbie voucher & 2 tokens. With the tokens you can use to personalize your crayons. The voucher will get a free scrubbie to color wash & keep. So many activities to do. We came on a good day-- no lines anywhere. We melted crayons and molded into an emoji or bull. We melted crayons to a art design. We designed a supermodel that actually modeled the outfit in the big screen. The dessert and snack areas have nachos , ice cream, popcorn, pretzels. The cafe has pizza, burgers, chicken strips, fries, hot dog. Prices are $3.99-$8? Not bad though. There's also milk, cookies, cotton candy.... there's a huge souvenir shop after you exit (stamp to re-enter). It's a good 2-3 hours of things to enjoy. Go have a colorful day! read more

Unbelievably overpriced for what you get. $26 per person to watch your kids color with broken crayons and broken chalk. The employees are miserable, unhelpful and unfriendly. Activities do not accurately or adequately display instructions. Do you want to get a snack? It's closed. If it were open, you'd be paying $6 for an order of fries. Last week, I was in the gift shop and was told that if I were to go Wednesday afternoon at 2pm, I would pay $16 instead of $26. I was also told to bring only a clear plastic bag to carry my belongings. Both pieces of info were incorrect. You will get your bag inspected but you can carry your regular bag in once it's inspected. When I got there, the nasty older woman told me that the discount applies to a 2:30pm entrance, not 2:00pm. I took my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter and the activities are really not geared towards someone her age. I feel totally ripped off and will not be returning. Additionally, I was disappointed at the woefully poor job they do in the way of cleanliness. read more

Been wanting to take my kiddo here for the longest. Yesterday, we went as a family and we had a total blast. We bought three tickets on Groupon at a discounted price so if they're still available I would go that route. Once your inside they give you a bag with tokens and a voucher for a free toy. The tokens were used for the crayon and clay machines. The crayons were cool because you could rename them if you want. They had several nice shades. And then a cool rolling machine to put the labels on the crayon. The clay machine was set up like a vending machine. It has several colors you can choose from. When you turn in the voucher you get a cute little animal that you can paint or color. My daughter was given a rabbit. I also liked the fact that they had an indoor playground for toddlers and older kids. They also have two different spots for food. And we appreciated that it didn't cost an arm and a leg to get food there. On your way out, you for sure will need to visit the gift shop. It was probably one of the coolest gift shops I've ever been too. They had everything crayola in there. So cool to see! We easily spent about 2.5 hours at this location. And time flew by because we were having so much fun! read more

We took our kids to a location in Kansas City years ago and enjoyed it so we brought our grandson to this location in Plano today. Half the kiosks were closed, many of the attractions were broken and the place had maybe a quarter of the staff it should which explains why so much was broken or without supplies needed to complete the activity. A school had brought kids today so it was kind of a free for all with kids running amok and damaging things, making the experience worse. I doubt we will be back. Glad I didn't buy passes. We didn't get value for $27.99 / person. read more

It is quite an experience. I went with my family including 3 kids (2, 4, and 5) and had a great time at Crayola Experience Plano. It is a giant space (think Macy's size) within the mall at Willow Bend. There were activities for each of the kids including a playscape, giant light bright, selfie station, crayon drip art, coloring felt animals, etc. It is a bit pricey but it was worth it and we spent most of the day there. The weekends are pretty busy but the kids didn't have to wait very long for the different activities. My only negative feedback is for the scheduler for the workers. There were some stations that require 2 workers but only had one, on a Saturday. There is so much going on there that I could never work there so kiddos to those that do. read more

Meh. My girls found the crayon melting experiences as most "fun", then the make your own crayon as kinda fun. Other than that, it's just ok, a few of the attractions were down or non functional. Eat before you go, unless you got cash to burn. Run through the overly expensive involuntary store at the end, unless you got...you know the rest. read more

I'd say overall it's ok.... But not for all ages. I'd say keep it under 10 years old. Some stuff works some doesn't. The staff is nice. Brought my kid for his 8th bday. Only stayed for about an hour and a half. It's just one big room that wraps around. I'd save my money. read more

We went to Crayola Experience for the Dollar Day! We arrived a little early and there were already a few people waiting outside for the entrance to open. They opened and we made our way in (family of 4, 2 adults + 2 children, 7 & 5). We received coins for the kids to get their crayons and/or play clay which we did. There are a lot of activities to take part in while there which I was surprised as this was my first time there. You can make your own color crayon, paint things, color, playground, videos, sciency things, etc. Quite a fun time for the kiddos. I noticed that they have some party rooms as well and had concession stands with snacks available as well. Overall a good time. read more

This was way better then expected, I just didn't know what more can you do with crayola. Apparently a lot more. This is clearly for kids from 1 - 8 years old, and older and it'll be weird. Between making a decision of which to go over Crayola or LogoLand, Caryola 100%. Kids can play and its more interactive and LogoLand is like going to a boring art museum. Downside of Crayola Experience is, it's in Plano, TX. That's north of Dallas and its out of the way from Six Flags and all the stadium games. Why they build it in Plano is stupid. read more

First time here and last. The price per children and adults is very high for the experience. I wouldn't have mind the price if the workstations were in good working order. Once inside there are different stations to do different activities but if this is your first time like ours you will be lost and confused as to what it is you need to do. There is no staff walking you thru the process. You do see a few members walking around but good luck flagging them down. The girl at the entrance had a whatever hurry give me your ticket and get inside attitude. My 2 kids enjoyed playing in the play area. Which for being a Monday with few people was very dirty. Both play structures were dirty. We saw trash inside and the plexiglass filthy. What a disappointment. Oh the pizza was good that's why my 2 stars. read more

Crayola Experience - Trash inside play place. Don't tell me you can't get to it if my 4 year old had to kick it to the side in order to avoid touching it. - Amusement Parks Near Me - Plano, Texas

First the positives: 1. I was very pleased to see that Crayola Experience hires people with disabilities! I am always so happy to be a patron at a place that helps the disabled with jobs and opportunities. 2. The store itself is very cool and very interesting visually. I took my 5 year old niece and she was also very impressed;) 3. The Silly Selfies were our favorite! My niece and I really enjoyed the exhibit and got many Silly Selfies of ourselves:D Now the negatives: 1. There are A LOT of issues there with malfunctions. Either the computer was down, or there was a paper jam in the printer, or the games that took money, gladly took your coins and then did not work, IPads never loading, etc. etc. etc. My niece and I tried 3 adventures in a row that did not work. This does not work well with a 5 year old! UGH!! 2. There was an obvious lack of staffing in the facility. There were a couple of girls back there that could have cared less about helping you and made themselves as scarce as possible. We were there along with a couple of schools on a field trip and the teachers were just as frustrated as I was. Moms, teachers and Aunties were all asking each other how to work the games because there was no staff to be found. 3. Prices are a bit on the crazy side as people have said. There was a "gold mining" water game, but if you wanted to do it, it cost extra to by the sand with the gems in it and the prices started at $7.99 up to almost $25.00 for a bag of sand. PlayDoh was extra if you wanted to do the game there as well. A couple of the games were also closed so we didn't get to do them either. If someone asked me if I suggested they tried it, I would say "watch Yelp" and see if the reviews start to get better. When things were working, it was fun but Crayola Experience REALLY needs some work! read more

I am a kid at heart. There are a few things I can't do anymore with the heart of a kid and the body of a 40-year old. Crayola Experience has proven to me just that especially in their playground activity areas so I let the nieces have at it while I dutifully watched them like a hawk! This place is unlike any fun center I've ever seen before! I knew these types of places existed but they've taken crayon fun to a whole new level! First off when you enter you can personalize your own crayon, the girls seemed to love that! You pick your color then personalize the wrapper, both the crayon and wrapper drop out of the machine separately. What am I supposed to do with this? I was a bit put off that there wasn't a mechanism to put the wrapper on for me so like a fool I tried doing it myself. Lo and behold there are these handy dandy wrapping machines on the back wall to accomplish the task. After I finally realized it, one of the girls got a perfectly wrapped crayon and the other got one that looked like a 2 year old did it! I didn't tell them there was a difference so there wouldn't be any sib-fighting. My favorite part of the whole thing though was the gift shop they funnel you through as you exit the experience. They have crayola-themed gifts as one would expect but the grande dame though was the wall of candy! It wasn't just any candy but Dylan's Candy Bar candy!!! Yes I loaded up like a glutton but it took me a very long time to eat through it all! This was a great visit and as I understand it, the nieces have a year pass so they'll definitely be back for more craynanigans! read more

It was our first visit last week, and I have to say I was disappointed. I am not sure it's because of summer is the busiest time or some other reasons. This place needs to be cleaned and sanitized. Don't waste your money!! This was our first and last time here. So incredibly disappointed. The staff was less than friendly, not one smile on anyones face and all of them looked annoyed. At the melting station, the guy working it yelled at our son when he went up to the machine, but gave us no instructions on what to do. Lots of games and stations, pictured, were closed...which apparently isn't out of the norm, based on prior reviews. The whole time felt like something was missing. Not really exciting for kids under 5. We all left there extremely unsatisfied and upset about how pour of an "experience" it was. The Crayola store was more fun than the experience!! Tickets are pricey for what the experience actually is. Definitely not worth it, so don't waste your time or money! read more

This place started out so well when it opened. Now, it is just trash, and we won't renew our membership. So many things are broken down. This is not a one time thing. For example, the machine to print a season pass has now been down since October (three months ago). Cleanliness is an after thought. The snack bar that is actually open is out of most things. The one in Orlando is great. This one needs some serious attention or shut down. read more

From the moment you walk in, it is confusing as to where to go. Signage is small, workers are there, but they won't talk to you. They are busy talking to each other. Once we paid my almost $50 for my 5 year old and myself, it took William several minutes to hand me my change, coins. The young last that was next to him told him he was taking too long and needed to hurry, he actually told her that he would get to it when he could. He handed me the tickets and said nothing. If William worked for me, I wouldn't let him clean my toilets. He is not the person you need to have as the first person we meet at your business. We turned and was handed a bag, nothing else, where do we go? I guess since you have the money, we are there sheep...follow the herd??? Concessions was a joke, I am trying to be open minded here, but anyone that handled money there acted like this was their first day on their first job. The first two places ignored me, I ended up getting a water at the sweet shop, but not before they decided to do a shift change while I stood in front of them... Last thing, you need a person in the toddler station. There were grown kids trampling on the little kids, yelling and screaming, running through the slides BACKWARDS. My daughter has two handicaps and it took everything out of me not to correct the other kids. I would've asked for a refund, but I probably would've had to speak with William... read more

I haven't been here since Covid( previous annual pass members). My son really wanted to go today so, we went. So, disappointing. Many of the make/ name your own crayon machines were broken. My kids LOVED this place and really didn't wanna leave. If they were writing this review they'd probably give it 10 stars but they're not..I am. Sooo here goes! Overall I think this place is a great spot for kids who want to get out of the house but aren't hip on being outdoors, but from the 'parent' standpoint I'd rather spend money elsewhere. The day we were there (we went on a Thursday) it was ridiculously crowded and as a first timer I had absolutely no idea what the world I was doing or where in the balls to go! And the staff was not very helpful either. They hand you a clear sack and send you on your way without any instruction of what the sack is for or anything so here I am walking around looking like a deer in headlights with a herd of mesmerized kids trying to figure out where to go and what to do! They have a little food court that offers your basic kid friendly dishes (pizza, chicken tenders, etc) but it's a little over priced considering you pay half an arm and a leg to get in! All in all it's not too bad of an establishment, just wish they'd give better instructions and maybe rethink their prices! read more

We took our kindergarteners there yesterday for a field trip. They were overbook for the experiences they had. We were told there were 700 kids there. My biggest complaint is safety. Simply getting into the facility was dangerous. Multiple schools trying to enter at the same time. Kids were being cut off and separated from their groups. Children could just exit the experience and end up in the mall or outside. No one there to stop them from leaving. There was a person standing at a desk, but they did nothing. Two of our students got separated from their group and walked out. We will not be returning as a field trip. Overbooked, long lines to do anything, not enough activities to do, multiple stations not working, and lack of security/ safety concerns are the main reasons we will not return for a field trip. read more

Manager older lady with short highlighted hair and glasses was pure racist and rude . I signed up my daughter and was not sure if me or my husband will bring them more and quite frankly i am not sure of membership due to the place not being opened 100%. only 20% is open . anyways kids ran in and i have a year and 2 months old who runs constantly. asked if i can get a pass. employees there are really nice . they offered to ask manager . she cam out with hate i her eyes and prepared to say no. And not a problem at all but whats the irony when i went online to sign up for membership i see that all first line responders get a free pass or 25%off and not for once this horrible human bothered to ask if i belonged to any and by any means to make it easier . Shame on you Crayola for hiring promoting such snob , unprofessional ugly people read more

I needed a few days to think on this one. I'm going to say it's not worth the price but given it's location it shouldn't have an issue getting customers that have no issues with the cost. They do offer memberships too so if you want to go color somewhere other than your house or your school then for 30 dollars a year you can come color here. They have the presentation that shows how crayons are made. If you're smaller get there early so you can get a front row seat and see what is happening. When you enter you are given a plastic bag with two tokens inside, spend them wisely. They can be used for buying your crayon that you name and or you can buy some molding clay stuff from the vending machine. Not all the crayon dispensing machines worked. Not all the clay packages dispensed either. They have sort of like indoor jungle gyms separated by age group. One experience I was excited about is Adventure Lab. You're given a tablet and when you walk in it looks like you get to really interact with the displays but most of the activities involve walking over to a station and just doing it on the tablet which by the way doesn't work properly. If you go on the website it will list all these activities not all are available. The wax activity was closed. No painting with wax either. No characters were there. The snack area bar was closed. Which is too bad I wanted a churro this time and I never want one. The place was busier earlier in the day but slowed down in the evening. I almost feel like to really get in there and do it all you have to be like between 6-8 all others will just have to stick to just a couple of activities. read more

A friend and I took our kids here for the first time. Her son is eight and my daughter is two, and they both really enjoyed it! My daughter was fascinated by the drip art station and melted wax coloring. She LOVED the toddler play area which is great because she's usually one to try to get into bigger play areas. Overall, it was a fun experience and my two year left with a bag of goodies she made and was in tears due to not wanting to leave. It did seem rather unorganized and several screens weren't working. It felt chaotic and we spent a lot of the time feeling lost. I'm a teacher and I'm able to get in free, but I don't know if I would pay the full price if I didn't have that perk. It's a fun place with lots to do, just seems a bit disorganized and overpriced. We'll be back though! read more

We had our 5 year old little boy's party here this past Saturday. The reason you pay a place like this to host a party... is so you, the parent, don't have to do anything. This is not the case with this place. First off, part of the 15 admissions the package comes with... includes adults! Yes, so if you invite 12-15 kids, and BOTH parents show up, expect to pay another $250 for more tickets. It's ridiculous they charge full admission for the adults, when there is nothing the adults can do, other than chase their kid around. Next up, the check-in process is a nightmare for your guests. They do not have any kind of standard routines set up. I had to ask about 5 different employees (all high school kids) how to get my guests in, and where the party room was, etc. In the party room... the rooms are spacious which is nice. But the attendant was clueless on how to run the party. I had do everything. She asked me which kids wanted cheese/pepperoni pizza like I knew. I simply asked the kids to raise their hands for cheese, and voila. Same thing with cake, I had to help her cut the cake bc she was clueless. I also played waitress with the drinks as well. Most bday venues have an efficient process to ensure kids are fed and entertained during this time. There was not a manager in sight. The whole thing was just a mess and I felt horrible for our guests as I didn't have any answers to their questions, because I couldn't seem to find a kid that knew their job. Most of the attractions were either broken, or didn't have an attendant to assist, such as the glitter tattoo station or wax hand molds, which cost extra btw. I ultimately feel bad for the staff because they obviously have not received any training, or direction on how to do their jobs. Over $500 later, most of the kids had a decent time. But it's just a madhouse with kids running around. Maybe give them several months to get their routines in place before visiting, or hosting a party there. read more

Don't bother taking your kids if they are under 5. It is not worth the $20.99 admission (they charge this for age 3 an up which is way too high, wish they had tiered pricing). We took a 2 and 4 year old and while they liked some of the coloring, play doh, and a few other stations, their attention span was fairly short with each activity. What they loved was the playground. So in hindsight we could've taken them to the park for free. We went on Good Friday before Easter, so lots of kids out of school and probably one of their busier days. And as others have mentioned, they seem to have a staffing shortage. There is no one helping at any of the stations to guide or cleanup. Crayons and papers are scattered all over the tables and ground. The whole place felt sticky. The playground was a parent's nightmare. They have 2 playgrounds, one for ages 2-4 and the other is for 5-12. There were no workers around to monitor so it was utter chaos. Small kids were at the big kids playground and vice versa. There are rules posted about no running, pushing, etc. but with no one to enforce, it was horrifying to watch kids getting run over and smushed in the confined space. Big kids were running around the entire place, I nearly got run over by a kid taller than I was. Overall I don't think we'll go again until they get their act together. But even on a less busy day the admission price is too high. So we'll wait until our kids are older. read more

Chaperoned a field trip for the 3rd graders in my sons school and had a great time. It was clean and a great atmosphere for toddlers to about 9 years old. I felt like there were some things the 3rd graders were too old for. It was a great experience for them to learn about something they use constantly! They had some great staff but unfortunately weren't the greatest problem solvers. A few times myself or teachers asked for troubleshooting and we got a "I don't know. Let me go ask" then never received assistance. We do wish it was more organized as far as what we had to do to get in. Overall I believe it's a great experience for children. The presentation they give in the theatre is the best part. You can create all sorts of art with melting wax and spin art.. they had a blast! read more

Crayola Experience - Making our own crayon! - Amusement Parks Near Me - Plano, Texas

Such potential. But they were completely understaffed, which made the experience frustrating, overwhelming, and in some areas less than ideally safe. Crayola has a good product and experience. Their staffing model, and lack of adequate numbers of staff, is undermining the experience. Lines are long, with open and unfilled stations whole people are waiting in line, because one staff member couldn't possibly operate the whole station by her/him/their self. Think of it like standing in a restaurant, waiting to be seated, with open tables all around and the staff can't possibly seat you. That said, an extra star to Crayola and a huge kudos for employing Individuals with intellectual disabilities. So, their values seem to be in the right place. My comments about lack of staff are not related to the great ID staff, who met everyone with a smile and graciousness. read more

Crayola Experience is a great addition to Willow Bend, a place my kids and I visit often. It's affordable, there's a few things my toddler likes and plenty of things my preschooler likes. We'd all like it so much more if things weren't perpetually broken. Many of the attractions use screens and there's never been a visit I've had in which several screens weren't offline. The scavenger hunt that uses tablets is tough to play since some of the areas are broken. Tougher still that the staff is unable to unwilling to help with it. On our most recent visit we attempted to do this attraction and afterward the employee who was working this area said that they were unsure how many of the games were meant to be played and that they never learned how to do so in any trainings. read more

The Crayola Experience does not regulate their crowd appropriately. I took my grandchildren there one morning, paid to get in and found the number of children there excessive. We waited in line for one hour to make a car shaped crayon. The number of children in the play areas made it quite dangerous. We finally left and came back in the afternoon after all the school groups had left. That was much better. The Crayola Experience should not be open to the public when they have so many camp groups there. Their planning for this number of visitors was very lacking. They were not properly staffed and they had to know the groups were coming. It was a miserable experience. read more

This place is great for kids because there is something to do for a ride range of ages. They have stuff for the babies and toddlers, the big kids, even the grown ups. It's just such a cool experience. You get to make your own label for a crown of your choosing, add your face to a coloring page, and there are so many opportunities to take stuff home for free. This was the second day they had been opened. They definitely have a staff shortage, as many of the stations for activities were not self explanatory and had no person to explain how to do things. Plus, many of the stations had machines/ computers, that were not working. I was surprised, since this was just the second day since opening. They have a snack area, with drinks starting at $3, And a vending machine for sport drinks;it requires money- no cards. Also, if you want to work with modeling clay, bring some change, it comes out of machine - cost 50cents a package. Overall, it was a nice low key experience,as it was a Thursday and not a lot of people there. My daughter is 7 and it was very appropriate for her, with a lot of "coloring" areas. We spent three hours there, and she did enjoy the experience. read more

Such a fun place! Save money and buy your tickets ahead online. They are good for a year even if your plans change. Also bring dollar bills in case you would like to buy more tokens to make additional crayons or get little packets of model magic. We spent about 4-5 hours here, but we did take our time. You could spend 2-3 hours and easily do everything if you don't have a lot of time. We also got our hand stamped, ate a quick lunch at the mall's food court, and went back for their interactive show. So many fun activities for the whole family. Parents will love it just as much if you enjoy art! read more

This place was awesome! Went here today chaperoning my daughter's 1st grade field trip. Arrived at 10am and left at 2pm, and honestly I felt we needed about 2 more hours there. This place is great for kids (and adults) who like coloring. I mean those that actually like to sit down, take their time and color. My daughter is 7 now and she thought this place was awesome. However I don't think she would have cared for it when she was under the age of 5. The place is very large and even though there were several schools there, it never felt crowded. When you first enter, grab a pamphlet/map - that is how you'll know what the tokens are for and what all the stations are. No one tells you where to go or what to do, it's self guided. The stations were all spread out, they had lots of workers, etc. I personally do not like Legoland, and have often wondered how anyone could spend more than an hour in there. But that's because I'm someone who doesn't like to sit and put together Legos. So I would understand if some people don't care for the Crayola experience if they don't like to sit and color. But it's not that you're just sitting and coloring, it is that each station typically requires you to color something and then you do something cool with what you colored. And again, I personally don't think children under five would really enjoy this place, at least not for very long. We received two tokens - one token you use to create a personalized label for a crayon and you get to name it. You don't get to mix colors together to create a color, you simply get to choose from probably 15 existing colors and then put a personalized name/label on that crayon. That was really cool. And then the other coin you use to buy some modeling clay that you sit down and work with kind of like Play-dough. I assume you can buy more tokens but we just used the two that came with our field trip package. They have a really cool little show/movie in a theater inside. It only lasts about 20 to 30 minutes but you get to see some animation and a live person showing you how crayons are made. It was really neat. There's an indoor playground and many stations where you color something and then bring it to life on a computer screen. Two other really cool stations involved melting crayons and turning them into art/trinkets. They sell food and snacks inside but we only bought a pretzel and a drink and it was the normal mall price you would expect.. When we arrived at 10am, the place was extremely clean and well organized. By the time we were leaving at 2 PM it had, of course, gotten dirty. I think that's inevitable with a ton of children running around. I really don't have any criticisms of my experience, other than perhaps if I was someone who was arriving at 2 PM and staying until 6 PM then I would probably think the place was a disaster. I'm hoping they had some sort of mid day clean up happening. I promise it was clean at 10am! I have to say I think this was the best field trip I've ever been on. The kids also get to leave with all of their drawings and the things they made at each station. Super fun!! read more
