I was super excited for our visit and was left feeling a bit disappointed. We're from out of town and this was our first time. I will say that the facility was clean and well taken care of! There were so many activities the kids could do, but hardly any staff around to help. There was no one to explain how machines or stations worked. We tried asking an employee how to get the stomp dance or dancing crayons to work and she said she didn't know. It's possible that they had a smaller staff because it was a week day?? This place would be great if they had plenty engaged employees to assist. We probably won't go back. read more

This was my daughter's first field trip, and she loved it! I have to say they stress tested well, because even with close to a dozen busses full of kids, everything seemed to be running smoothly. My only complaint is they could have had one more register open at concessions to relieve the long wait. I'm sure the other attractions have been described in depth already, so I wanted to throw a tip out there for anyone eyeing the prospecting bags near the concessions. If your kid loves rocks, get the $25 "Mother Lode" bag: it's worth it. The first thing my daughter pulled out of the sifter was a huge amethyst, and she lost her mind; the thing is about the size of our yorkie's head. Then came the ton of gems, crystals, fossils, shark teeth, and arrow heads. After emptying it out, I was shocked they didn't charge more for all of this. It was her favorite thing there! read more

This is a super fun place for kids (and adults) that's inside and where play can last for hours. We have the annual pass, and we have been twice in the past 3 weeks. The first time we stayed for 3 hours and did all the included activities (including the theater presentation - don't miss it, and the "playground" area. There was one station that wasn't working either time, and my daughter was disappointed. She said she had seen a YouTube video about that station where you painted with a melted crayon. Some of the activities needed to be straightened up or refreshed with new products, and I felt like several of the stations were understaffed. There is a back bar, food station and sweets station inside the experience. Prices were too high for us, but if you are there for awhile it's your only option because you can't bring food in. When you have completed your time at the experience, you exit out into a Crayola store. Both times there has only been one cashier, and they weren't receiving any help from other employees. Listen, it's a great place to go if your child is like mine and loves art. It's new, so everything won't be perfect. We WILL be back because my daughter loves it so much. read more

Today was my first time there and will be my last. The place is so dirty and not enough staff. I had my two toddlers and on the toddler area there were all these big kids running and yelling my 3 year old got hurt from them pushing. The toddler area is so dirty I don't even know how they can't see all this filth to clean it. I personally don't recommend this place if you have little children. read more

My son loves going there, I just wish the play ground areas were open. Other then that everyone is always kind and helpful.

For as big as this place is, there sure is a whole lotta nothing available when it opens - the workshops and things like that don't start until 12:30 (even though you get a coupon to attend one when you walk in). It was our first time and no one explained anything so when you walk in, it's very daunting and a tad confusing. We ordered tickets online, paid $22.99/ticket plus tax and we got 2 tokens each, a coupon to go to a workshop that didn't open for 2.5 hours and a map. Half of the stations you have to spend more (a lot more) money to participate in. There are about 3-4 included in your "tokens" but one is getting a tiny mold of a race car or emoji face, kinda cool paper photos of yourself, 1 crayon with a personalized label aaannnd that's it. Listen my kid had fun but we only stayed 30 minutes and he's 4 so he has zero clue what a waste of money it was. I expected way more and definitely shouldn't have. read more

I had family visiting from out of town so we went here on a weekday morning. It was soooo much fun!!!!' We expected to only stay for about an hour or so but we literally spent 4 hours there. Everything was so so much fun!!!! Even us adults had a blast. We took my 3 year old nephew and he had a blast coloring and seeing his drawings come to life on a screen!! Definitely worth the trip especially on a hot summer day!! read more

Right place to bring the kids when you have nothing better to do! So many activities and things for them to make. The food is way over priced for what you get, like at Six Flags. I recommend you bring a snack. read more

Would have love to left an 5 start review..I like Crayola products! But this experience was very unexciting. For starters the employees were not engaged or cared to be there. The place was dirty. It needs a good deep cleaning.. and trash/food were all over the floor. Very disappointing that crayola as a company has a "experience" like this that was just .. "eh." The activities were OK..but we were confused at first because we were given no direction or guidance. We stood in line at the cafe for so long..one employee was working it. We later went back to refill the popcorn with the souvenir cup and I used cash. The guy at the counter handled my change, THEN TOOK THE SOUVENIR CONTAINER I USED PREVIOUSLY AND DIPPED IT INTO THE POPCORN MAKER full of popcorn. no gloves..no safety protocols..he clearly didn't care. That was ridiculous. At least use a scooper to put more into it. Our hands were all over the souvenir cup before he refilled it. Disappointing to say the least. My mom and brother got in free because they are teachers so we only paid for a ticket for me and my nephew..if we all paid we would have been more upset. The place just needs better management in place to keep it running better. Do better Crayola..was really looking forward to a better experience. Will NOT be returning. read more

So look it, in from Little Rock and took my daughter. I almost didn't go bc the reviews were all over the place....don't pay attention to the negative reviews. It was solid. Tons of fun, so much to do. There were like 15 stations of activates. My daughter loved it. Then add the playground to it. It's huge for toddlers and young kids. Well worth the two hrs we were there. Staff super friendly and helpful. This was a great deal. You can also buy cheaper online and walk right in with your phone scanned. So if looking for something fun to do that's different. Definitely come here. read more

Kept my 6, 7, and 9 year old busy for 30 minutes. The theater show is a good concept, but needs to cater more to the younger children. The speaker is monotone although she smiles. The employees at the melt your crayon exhibit need an attitude adjustment. They were ignoring other customers and never smiled. The costly entrance fee does not get you much, but two tokens to get one crayon or a sample of model magic. Everything else is an extra charge. This is supposed to be a happy place. Most of the employees act like they are miserable. read more

Awesome for kiddos. You could probably spend a whole day in there. Now as amazing as it was the price is killer. 21.99 a person is a bit ridiculous. I see having the kid cost that; but to also make the parents pay that was a little much. read more

This is an one of a kind playground for art loving kids. However, like so many good places in DFW, it's fallen to the dark side prioritizing financial aspects and procrastinated the pursuit of excellence. I have to say a lot of facilities bring forth pure frustration instead of amaze and delight. And it is due to the lack of maintenance and staff organization. There's a set of machines that scans coloured dresses and show them on screen on a 3D catwalk. The intention is to ask the children to design stuff, and get immediate feedback from the screen, and probably from other spectators. However, the delay from scanning to showing is way way too long. I watched a bunch of design randomly picked before mine was showed on screen, and 10 mins lapsed, with my family the only ones using the machine. Not to mention 1/3 of the machines are malfunctioning. There's a show every so often on how crayons are made. There supposed to be two animated figures on the screen conversing with a crayon making staff. But the screen went down and the staff was doing this amazing skit all by herself. All these experiences are things easily brushed off. But if this accumulates, soon this place is going to loose it's appeal. read more

My granddaughter and I had lots of fun! She was really a little too young, being just barely 3. There was a lot of stuff I would have liked to do that she didn't understand. We will be back when she gets a little older. I'd say 5 or 6 for the youngest, to really get the most of the experience. read more

Daughter loved the place! Don't be discouraged by the negative reviews about this place.

The kids have a good time with most of the activities, but it's a good thing they don't realize that half of the stuff doesn't work. The tickets are too expensive for them to not be prepared with staff that can fix technology/equipment issues on the spot. read more

The worst place to have a birthday party I wish I had read these reviews before I booked and paid almost $300.00 The party rep never stayed in the room during the party I had to run the party. I complained constantly to the manager with no results. The place was extremely crowded and the exhibits were not working. It was such a joke. I called back the next day to speak to the general manager and I was told I would be refunded 1/2 my money. They where going to generate a check Tobe mailed out well it has been 3 weeks since that Conversation and no check. Each time I call and talk to Scott the GM he lies and tells me some lame excuse. I tell him today that I will come out and get cash since I paid cash and I was told no let me check with the finance person who seems to never be at work. This place is a JOKE don't waste your money or your time. You WILL be disappointed. read more

We took our kids to a location in Kansas City years ago and enjoyed it so we brought our grandson to this location in Plano today. Half the kiosks were closed, many of the attractions were broken and the place had maybe a quarter of the staff it should which explains why so much was broken or without supplies needed to complete the activity. A school had brought kids today so it was kind of a free for all with kids running amok and damaging things, making the experience worse. I doubt we will be back. Glad I didn't buy passes. We didn't get value for $27.99 / person. read more

This was our first time going and expected more than we got out of it. 1 adult & 1 kids ticket was about $60 bucks. At first it looked fun and we were excited, but then slowly began walking through to find out the stations that require technology were not working. This was frustrating. I basically paid to walk around, play, and color. I took my son out of daycare but he was probably better off staying at daycare. A random lady/ mom came up to me and also expressed how the place has changed so much and isn't up to par and that she would be complaining soon. I doubt I'll get money so I'll just leave this review here in hopes that others read reviews and don't make the same mistake I did. read more

This is my first ever Yelp review. My hope is to warn parents so they don't not fall into the same trap we did. We paid $90 (2 adults, 1 kid). Adults had to pay a full price ticket to watch their kid make a crayon, color paper, play on the playground, and attempt to use technology that did not work. I felt sick to my stomach knowing we paid this much. We would have had more fun playing at a park and coloring at home. read more

Omg so I am a nanny and I take the kids I watch here all the time!!! I enjoy it and have a blast every time!! My fave is making your on crayon it's totally worth it for the season pass even if u only go twice. It's a lot of fun cool stuff to do. Clean bathrooms. Food is available in like 2 different spots. Casie or kasie. Can't remember how she spells it! Is so nice and sweet to us every time and she remembered us today!! She went above and beyond and gave us a drink and some pop corn! We will definitely be back! read more

We went today with my 5 and 1 year old and had a lot of fun. A lot to do for both age groups, even a play area designated for Toddlers which was nice. There were tons of kids there but it didn't seem like it because everything is very spaced out with lots of activies. only reason it didn't get 5 starts from me is because it was rather pricey and a bottle of water was 4 dollars. read more

Could be 4 stars with a little tweaking! Sharpen your crayons, get a quarter machine, hire personable knowledgeable workers who like kids. Fun but could be awesome. Well let me just say other yelpers were kind . Let's be honest, this place is money trap. We just happen to come at 5 which was 1/2 price. The adults have to pay the 1/2 price entrance fee too, so for 2 kids & 4 adults it was $77.88... need I say more. We didn't buy food for the same reason. Chicken strip combo $10.99, pizza combo $9.99, burger combo $10.49 Trust me... use your money somewhere else. Go to a movie to escape the summer heat! You are basically playing with melted crayons the entire time. There is a play center but you can go to chick fil a for free. read more

Not a very great experience at the Crayola Experience. My boyfriend and I brought our son here for his birthday on 11/26 around 6pm and it was almost empty. That was perfect. We were celebrating his 3rd birthday and so that gave us the opportunity to get through the stations without it being overly crowded and what not so we were super excited since it was our first time. The concept is so cool and the facility has some really awesome features, but a bunch of attractions were closed and the attractions that were open, the staff was HORRIBLE. The staff is the reason why I am leaving two stars. Their energy was soooo dead and they were more concerned with talking to each other than helping my family with questions that we had about what we were doing. I had to ask 5 times for some help before asking for a piece of paper and figuring out ourselves at the station with the melted crayons. Crayon molding thing was cool to watch but we had no idea what we were doing. The girl that came over a few times didn't even acknowledge my son and he was the reason we were there! Asked another girl about a closed station and she was so ready to get away from us she walked away while answering our question "but she wasn't sure". My son had a good time needless to say the 3 year old didn't understand our frustration. I hope we get a chance to go back and have a better experience because again the place is super cool! Just a very sad first time when the staff really shows customers that they don't enjoy being there. read more

For the money I'm not sure if this is a deal. We went on a Tuesday and there were about 3 daycares flooding everything. Which is fine it's a kids place but there were areas where more assistance could be needed with little ones. Like the label maker placement was very confusing to most and so if even one employee was there to assist would have been nice. The movie theater experience was confusing, every hour they show a small film on making crayons and have a few employees act out the process. It was cute. But the theater door stays closed and most parents were outside waiting. I just walked in and had a flood of people behind us because there was no direction if they could come in or not. Then there is a coloring area where you can water color, use markers or crayons on different projects. Super fun but it was very unorganized and after I flagged down two employees huddled by the stocking cabinets in the area did we understand what was going on there. We tried a puzzle game with tablets where you go in a room and are guided by the tablets to certain challenges and you are supposed to try each challenge to make it thru. The kids were given 3 each and there are like 15 in the room. The directions for the challenges are not clear and my poor kiddos (9&12) could not understand them. So either there was an equipment malfunction or the challenges need to be reviewed because if my older kids couldn't understand I'm certain the average 5&6 year old won't be able to either. The sweet treat area was a mess. The fudge was cut in very uneven shapes. Which if you want me to pay $3.50 for a square I'd prefer it to at least look the same size as the other squares. The cookies were so burnt they were black on the top. The employee looked as happy to be there as the others I came across. My advice is to get some more manager training on how to manage your staff and hire better personalities or bring the best out of those already on board. They needed some inspiration and guidance so they could guide the kids and parents around. Everywhere I looked there were yellow shirted employees but they were trying to look too busy to help anyone or hiding from sight. Most parents with kids were very confused and shrugging their shoulders because we had no idea what to do and were just winging it. This is where the cost comes to factor, if I'm paying over $20 admissions I shouldn't have such a poor experience. If some kid is going to charge me $100 for my family to get in, dig thru my belongings to make sure no outside food or drink is allowed and send me into overload of things, I'd rather take them to Chuck E. Cheese where the pizza is included. And we can color and craft with paper plates when we get home. I thought this would be an "experience" but it was not a good one. read more

We absolutely loved this place, so many fun and interactive activities to do...we are a family of 4 with a 5 yr old and 9 yr old. My kids love anything artistic and activities that gets us as parents to participate!!! The decorations and design make anyone that walks through the doors feel like a kid both my husband and I were in awww!!! My advice is eat somewhere before you enter and put the phone away get down with your kiddos and draw paint laugh and play!!! I see bad reviews and can't understand why my kids loved it and has a parent anything that makes them smile and busy for hours is worth my money!!! read more

Very overpriced. We used a teacher discount for $5 of tickets and it still wasn't worth it.

Great experience! Kids loved it. A lot for the family to do. Not just the kids. The only downer was that it is pricey $22 per person and If you got thirsty or wanted a light snack you were paying $6 for a small box of popcorn. Another $6 for a drink. Overall it is a great place to take kids and you will spend at least 3 hours. Because their is so much to do. Buy your tickets online, you save 3 dollars. read more

Just left so I want to write this review while it's fresh in my mind. Today was our first trip to crayola with our toddler. When we got there they did warn us there were a lot of school groups there so it would be better to come back later in the afternoon. They also tried to upsell us on a yearly pass. We decided against it though you can upgrade that day to yearly with your ticket you purchased. It was $63 for 2 adults and one toddler (toddler is 2 so was free). Seems like a steep price for adults who don't want to do any of the activities. We get in there and it is as crazy as warned so we left and had lunch and came back. They give you bracelets for reentry for the rest of the day. When we came back it was much calmer. However the place was a mess. And there wasn't a ton of staff cleaning and picking up the place after the school groups left. On each station there wasn't instructions on what to do. Most of the activities that required electronics were broken. And most of the staff did not seem happy to be there. I'd you wanted snacks you were out of luck because they staff had already packed up and closed. We didn't so no issue there. The place was actually quite boring and our kid was ready to leave after just a short time. We will not be back. read more

Very disappointed that Crayola Experience will not extend our annual passes to an appropriate date that it would be safe to take our high risk daughter to enjoy their facility. We attended a birthday party here. It was chaos! I will not return. Highly under staffed, no party host, no direction on activities. One parent was serving the guests while the other waited at the front to greet the guest with tickets. Basically, one parent missed a portion of the party. Some of the activities were neat while the others were broken. The tablets didn't work, crayons machine were full or lacked paper, one activity was closed-melting -and that is what my child really wanted to do. The facility was a mess with papers and completely over crowded. We were there over 2 hrs and only did 4 activities! Waaay too crowded with long lines. Staff was not available to help. Food/drinks overpriced. For a place that just opened I would expect over staff, cleanliness superb customer service. read more

Since I've been to he Easton PA location I have to say it's nothing like it. It's cutes but for the price it's a rip off. We spent 99 minutes here with our 4 year old. He did everything he could for his age. A few of the options were not open/working so maybe that's why we were in and out so fast. The one in Easton PA is way cooler and so much more you can do. read more

It was too crowded. Quite expensive considering what you get. It may be worth it if the adults don't have to pay. But most things in the Crayola show were not working so you don't see how crayons are made. Most of the exhibits were not that fun or fully functional. At the end my son played on the small playground and in 20 minutes time I saw 4 children fall and hit their mouth and face badly. One was bleeding and possibly lost a tooth. No supervision of the staff. Definitely can't recommend going unless you're very rich and have money to blow. read more

If you are planning a field trip to this HORRIBLE place please do NOT do it. They are so unorganized. Reina the manger went above and beyond today! My god mother is going threw a rough time and I wanted to get her a special gift. She has always told me she wanted a crayon from the year she was born. Well I didn't know what ones were made that year so I asked for help and one of the employees got me the manager Renia. She didn't know what red crayon was born in the year so she told me hold on I will be right back she came back with a list of all the crayons made in that year!! Then she also went out of her way to find me that special crayon and even helped me find a suitable crayon wrapper and changed the name in the computer so that I could have a special crayon made. Thank you for going above and beyond! Wonderful experience! read more

This place was low staffed, not all the "machines" worked and were noted out of service. If a venue knows it will host large parties and host a busy weekend it should make sure all equipment should work properly. Housekeeping was very poor, employees are all young with no energy or sense of ownership for customer service or urgency to please the customers. Exit store had 2 cashiers, slow, and a large line to wait to buy souvenirs. In my opinion overpriced for service. read more

We brought three 2-year-olds, a 4-year-old, and a baby; we had a blast! We went in the morning of a weekday, and it was very busy and crowded with a school visit, returned later after lunch, and it was MUCH BETTER. I was pleasantly surprised that a lot of activities do not require coins, in fact we only used our coins to label crayons with our names. Our kids loved dancing in the crayon waterfall simulation, making wax rings, labeling crayons, creating portrait coloring pages, and climbing in the play zone. We decided to eat lunch (brought from home) in the mall, which by the way is the perfect place to nurse a baby. This mall has several lounge areas with arm chairs that are empty on weekdays. I only gave 4 stars though because a few of their machines weren't working and it didn't seem like anyone was attending them to fix them. read more
