Tried this place for the first time last night and wasn't too impressed. It took about 10-15 mins for anyone to take our drink order even though there wasn't a lot of tables and plenty of wait staff. Felt a little forgotten. Now being from New Orleans I have a high expectation for seafood so please take that into consideration. My husband order the Thai basil headless shrimp and I ordered the fried shrimp platter. The Thai basil didn't have a lot of sauce or flavor so it was just like eating boiled shrimp. And my dish was definitely made with frozen shrimp. I didn't expect that because they obviously have fresh shrimp for their boils. We also ordered the crawfish eggrolls but they were served soft without that key crunch you usual get with a fried eggroll. The one plus was the strawberry margarita I ordered was very strong. One of the better fried or boil seafood so far in this area. Seafood boiled just right that the meat isn't hard. Shells easy to bite into or cut. The fried goods not burnt or oily. Very good fries and Cajun rice. Place is nice and clean. Service is prompt and friendly. Our food tasted very good. Tried their original Cajun, butter garlic and our favorite has been their Kickin' Cajun. You can mix flavors but as first time customers we decided to taste them first individually before trying the mix. Definitely going back to complete the list. read more

The place is nice and very clean. My server Marvin was so kind and hospitable. The sweet tea was perfect not super sweet. The food was fresh and my waiter suggested the Salt and pepper wings and they were so good. Lots of flavor. That is my favor thing now. Had the crawfish egg roll was delicious. My Cajun fried rice was so good and beautifully plated.. I enjoyed all my food and my daughter got the shrimp and that came with fried rice and fries. One thing they are missing is non of the food comes grilled just fried but I loved it all. So that is the only thing they are missing is grill items... I'm honestly not the biggest fan of seafood boils (my boyfriend is which is why we came) but this place was hands down amazing! We tried a good variety, including the Cajun fries, hush puppies, fried rice, salt and pepper king crab, and shrimp / crawfish + sausage, corn, and potatoes with both the lemon pepper and shabang sauces. Everything was extremely flavorful but the stand outs in my opinion were the fries and salt and pepper king crab. The crab especially was the best crab I've ever had - seriously! Crawfish Cafe was such a great experience and has set the bar very high for other seafood boil places. First impressions are everything! This was the first time I've been to Crawfish Cafe in The Woodlands, I usually go down to the one in Hong Kong City Mall but I decided to try it out. How was the experience of this Crawfish Cafe? It was absolutely amazing. I will start with rating the food to the service to the overall atmosphere. Food: What I ordered, Oyster Nachos, 2 lbs crawfish, 2 lbs shrimp, 2 lb black mussels, Cajun fried rice, and Dac Biet Bowl. Oyster Nachos: 5/5 the fried oyster on the crispy wonton chip and condiments was tasty, the texture was spectacular and not too oily, meanwhile the pico de gallo was a refreshing burst of flavor. The sauce on top was just a right hit. 2 lbs Crawfish: 5/5 the grail (garlic butter and Thai basil) was a hit. Crawfish was cooking perfectly and very saucy. Would like more basil notes to come through because it was kinda hidden. 2 lbs shrimp: 4/5 head-on shrimp with the grail flavor. The shrimp were a little overcooked so it was a little harder to peel the shell off, and very few (like two or three) shrimp was mushy due to overcook but i rather it be overcooked than undercooked. Flavor was there and the shrimp came out pipping hot. 2 lbs black mussels: 5/5 recommended by Allen, it was an unexpected surprise because it was the first thing I finished. Flavor was addictive and I've chosen the Grail sauce. I would like a little bit more basil but nevertheless I would definitely go back for the black mussels. I had to discard some mussels because the shell would not open at all. Cajun Fried Rice: 3/5 it was a miss for me. It was the very last thing to come out but I did not mind waiting at all. The fried rice felt like it was rushed and cooking with fresh steamed white rice you want to make sure the oil is pipping hot so its not just absorbed by the rice which makes the texture a little on the mushy side. Other than the soft rice, the flavor was there and have the potential to be a great fried rice. Dac Biet Bowl: 5/5 this bowl of Pho was delicious maybe not in a environmental friendly bowl but the flavor was spot on. Didn't even need to add hoisin sauce it was perfectly seasoned and the broth tasted like it took some time simmering. Service: Server- Allen, Dylan, Seth were all amazing. Just two things I look for. 1. Attentiveness 2. Kindness. Even though the fried rice and appetizer came out way after the seafood galore I was okay. Ice water was always refilled and they came by apologized and also to let me know they are backed up in the kitchen but they are working on my orders. LOVE a good communication. Everything came out great. (With the exception of the fried rice) 5/5 Overall: 1 hour wait was worth it because the host stand was very nice and welcoming so it didn't feel like i was waiting that long. 5/5. I would definitely come back with all my friends and order everything again except the rice. read more

Went and tried Crawfish cafe for opening day... Honestly what a disappointment. Got a few pounds of different flavors, the second one on the menu, also one with basil, and a butter herb one. all spicy (they were not spicy at all, maybe order the extra spicy version) They all tasted the same and had no spice. We ended up not eating much of them. Ordered a lb of blue crab just to try, we didn't make it past the first claw on one. It was a little gooey on the inside. Ordered the fish sauce wings, they were soggy but okay to try. The side orders were okay, but didn't come tossed in the sauces which was different. Had sausage egg and potato. We also had some snow crab, this we asked for plain and honestly it was the star the show. If we come back it'll be just for the snow crab. We saw the pho and ordered 2 of these, unfortunately they were out of the eye round so we went for the fatty brisket. Mistake #1. The broth was delicious but super greasy, they toss in vegetables in the broth this I wasn't a fan off. Order our food came in, crawfish, snow crab. Pho, blue crab, sides, and finally our wings. We ate maybe 30% of what we ordered. The worst part of all this was the service. We could've by passed the sub par food because of opening day or we could have been okay with the lack of service because of opening day but both lacking left us wishing we went elsewhere. Arrived at 11:45am, we sat at 1:20. Food started arrive about 1:40, we asked for our check at 2:20, finally got our server to come back and cashed out around 2:40. I had never been to this location before but I'm glad I went. It was a weekday lunch so pretty empty inside, but very spacious for busier hours. The place was very clean and the smell was slightly "seafoody" but definitely not gross and fishy. Got the crab and it was delicious. The oysters were okay but I felt they were a bit pricey (market price) for what I got. The server was nice and checked on us an adequate amount. I visited this Crawfish Cafe location in MetroPark Square on a Saturday. I was quickly seated and ordered a crawfish po'boy, Cajun fries and tea. The crawfish was lightly breaded and "clean" tasting. The fries, while a bit too salty for me, were the perfect blend of crispy but soft inside and iced tea tasted freshly-brewed instead of sitting around for hours. I would highly recommend this place for a casual meal. read more

I really wanted to like this place, I've heard good things about it. I ordered crawfish and headless shrimp in their garlic and spicy Cajun and I told them to make it spicy. Not only was it not spicy, but it was sweet... I couldn't make out the flavor that it was but it was an overpowering sweetness to it. The garlic sauce said there'd be a "hint" or sweetness but this was insanely sweet for spicy seafood... my lunch date thought the same and it wasn't even enjoyable.
