We came here at about 7:30-8p on a Saturday night lusting after a bit of dessert. WE WERE NOT LET DOWN!! If you follow my reviews, you know I don't give out many 5 stars but, this place deserved every star given. The atmosphere was great. At first you think it's just the normal downtown, adult joint but families began coming in, very nice place. The customer service was impeccable, the young ladies did not have that fake charm going on trying to get a tip. Nothing I HATE more than some waitress calling me "baby", "darlin'" or "sweetie". (BTW, if you are a waitress or someone who relies on a tip and you call me one of the aforementioned names or something similar, YOU WILL NOT GET A TIP FROM ME!!! Just be nice to me, do your job and I'll take care of you.) ok got that out of my system. Anyway, on with the review. For the coffee part, my wife had the white chocolate and pumpkin latte. She loved it. Now mine, I like a turtle mochasippi so I said, "just mix some chocolate with caramel and I'll be good" when the barista said, "How about I add a bit of praline, as well?" OMG!! The ladies also suggested we share a Skillet Cookie, which was a good idea. It came out HOT and OMG good. I found this place through Yelp, which was a good find! They offer small breakfast items such as scones, bagels, sausage balls... they even have desserts. I tried the cookie skillet. AMAZING! The ice cream was almost like a custard. The flavor of the syrup had a hazelnut taste to it. I also had one of their coffee drinks... it was also like a dessert. They over many different choices and have an imported coffee selection for different palates. The place itself was clean and tidy. The barista was attentive and professional. My only complaint about this place is they don't stay open long enough. It would be nice to read a book and enjoy a latte or something warm after dinner. I ended up getting the cookie to go as they were closing around 5:30 pm. read more

This is my first stop when coming into town and I swing by every single morning for my morning coffee when visiting! I always order a Barbie with an extra shot of espresso and it's always PERFECT! I'm a bit of a "coffee snob", and have never had a slightly off or bad Barbie. I find the business hours to be convenient as Crave is open in the early morning rather than mid-morning. read more

Let me start by saying I rarely post bad reviews but I lost an hour of my life that I'll never get back at this place. I'm very upset w the experience I had here. I arrived at 10:30 pm just for a quick cookie sundae. Ordered the small version, as I was just in town to visit family (it was my last night here) and didn't want to wait 20-25 minutes to get a cookie skillet. After a few minutes, a verrry uncooked cookie was given to me. I gave it a shot but it just didn't taste good. I asked the waitress if it was supposed to be that...not done and she said no. She offered to get a new one. 20 minutes go by and nothing. I asked for an update on the cookie and they had no idea what I was talking about. The same lady who offered to remake the cookie offered the large skillet cookie to make up for it not being made. A couple nearby ordered the large skillet cookie and it took nowhere near 20 minutes to come out so I thought I'd just go ahead with it. I was wrong. it still took forever and then there was confusion about whether it was mine when the server brought it out. She was completely clueless even though there was a grand total of 2 groups in the restaurant that it could be for. After finallllllly getting this stupid cookie, I'd missed an hour of time with my family so I asked for a to-go box. The server offered a refund but in the middle of her working on that, another server chimes in with "this is a $9 dessert..." implying that she would not do the refund and I replied that I didn't even ask for the refund. It was offered to me when I asked for a box...I really just wanted to get the heck out of this restaurant. Fast forward to home and it was still just a super mushy cookie. So if your into mushy, undercooked cookies and servers with bad attitudes (except the one who apologized for the whole experience and the one who was TRYING to make the situation right), this might be the place for you. My brother also ordered a cold brew coffee and he said it wasn't good, as well. He does work for a coffee roasting company though so he may be hard to please.. haha 0/10 would not recommend. read more

I went to the Crave in Oxford on College Hill and it was fantastic! The Priscilla espresso beverage was delicious and had the right amount of hazelnut. The frozen hot chocolate was creamy and had melted chocolate sauce throughout. The skillet cookie takes 25 minutes to come out, but it is worth the wait. It was gooey and the chocolate chips were perfectly melted. This place is amazing! read more

Horrible !!!! And false advertising!!! I ordered a skillet s'mores cookie to go and did not check the quality before leaving . When I got home the "s'mores cookie" had no marshmallows, or graham crackers. It was literally just a chocolate cake in a tin pan. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!!!!!!!! Don't take fancy pictures of your cookies if you can't fulfill them in your daily operations/ orders. I crave the Crave. After finishing dinner at another restaurant we were told to go the Crave for dessert and that was the best advice that I have received in years. As we pulled up to the restaurant there was people sitting outside and a long line twisted out the door onto the sidewalk. We parked and joined the line, not knowing exactly what was inside. The line moved fast and shortly we could see the menus on the walls. We chose the chocolate chip cookie skillet. It is a skillet with a freshly made chocolate chip cookie and they add two large scoops of ice cream on top of the skillet. They clearly tell you there is a 25 minute wait because each skillet cookie is made to order. So we got some bottled water and went outside to sit in the alley. It was a beautiful night and I could envision what is must be like to be here on a warm summer night. About 25 minutes later they bring our skillet to us and we dive into the dessert. the skillet cookie is similar to the pizookie that you get at BJ's restaurant, but Crave's version is better. The chocolate chip cookie is thick and rises up in the skillet during cooking. Then they put two large scoops of quality ice cream on top of the cookie and it starts to immediately melt over the cookie. Crave is proud to say they sold 7000+ of the skillet cookies last year and I can see why. read more

This establishment is one of the best I've ever been to. My father, boyfriend and I were out to eat in Tupelo and we mentioned getting dessert somewhere. We were talking about it and debating where to go when a woman popped over and said we should go to Crave. She introduced herself as Bree, and said her family owned Crave and we had a very nice conversation with her! When we were done she said that that she would text/call the management team that night and tell them that we were coming and to comp our order. Of course we went, and we ordered a cookie skillet, milk, and a few coffees. The experience was wonderful, the environment of the restaurant is fantastic, the food and drinks are amazing! My family and I had a really great experience here and we will DEFINITELY be returning soon! Came up to Tupelo to just get out of the house and stumbled upon this place. AMAZING concept, dessert and coffe AND open till midnight. Coming from CA thr biggest issue I've had moving to the south is how everything closes so early. It's impossible to go out at night to hang out and not have to go to a bar. Going into a sweet shop for coffee is a bad idea. That part is on me and lesson learned. I love to try different coffee shops (or places that claim to have espresso drinks, I guess) and I've tried coffees at a lot of different places around the country and world. This was easily the absolute worst espresso drink I've ever had. I got the "shakerag" and, perhaps I misunderstood, but does it even have espresso in it? Or some sort of wannabe espresso flavoring? I'm not even sure and the girl who took my order was certainly no help. She had a look on her face like she was disenchanted with everyone in the world and had no interest whatsoever in clarifying anything on the menu. So, I paid $7 (including tip) and the drink was disgusting. You could warm a shot of simple syrup and it would have pretty much been the same thing and hopefully a lot cheaper. Awful, awful, awful. Also, they only offer disposable cups (BIG turn-off) yet there were no recycling or trash bins in sight. It was cool in there (temperature-wise) so on a hot Southern day, that was nice. However, everything else was a huge miss. I have a favorite coffee shop in Tupelo that I will make a beeline to from now on when I'm in town. I'm glad to have tried this one but I absolutely would not recommend it for the coffee. read more

I have lived and worked in large cities (Memphis, Tampa) but now reside in the friendly, little town that the restaurant Crave calls home. My wife and I frequented coffee and dessert shops, always looking for a good cup of java and an awesome dessert that tasted homemade. Sadly, that place did not exist for many years in Tupelo. But when Crave opened its doors, that all changed! Crave is located in downtown Tupelo directly across from the historic courthouse. It is placed within a trendy brick building with outside seating in the nearby alley and numerous tables on the inside as well. They use only locally roasted and blended coffees by gifted roasters and make all their desserts in-house and breakfast items in-house. Now let me say it - this place is AMAZING!!! Never have I found a dessert and coffee shop as good as what we have in Crave. We feel truly blessed in Tupelo! They could definitely teach Starbucks a thing or two about how to make a Mocha but I normally get one of their coffee blends or their "French Press" that includes a complete fresh press of coffee and two cups at a very reasonable price. But then there are their desserts!! The skillet cookie is a moist bit of heaven topped with ice cream! It's way too much for one person which makes it the perfect dessert to share. The caramel pie is amazing as well and also a sharable size although I don't like to do so! In fact, I have yet to try a dessert that was not incredible at Crave. Then to top it all off, they are open during the day for breakfast as well! For a true taste of the South, try their chocolate gravy and biscuits or sausage balls. It's a perfect place to start the day! The Crave staff have always been very friendly and courteous and very accommodating despite the larger crowds they have on the weekends. Best latte I've ever had, nice casual environment, perfect location for the designated driver to go get a fantastic and inexpensive bite to eat and cup of joe while your friends are getting stupid at one of the bars downtown. We split one of the skillet chocolate chip cookies which is served with a scoop of ice cream. This one of the items made on site and fresh from the oven. The cookie was delicious! The desserts were very rich and SO expensive. The chocolate cake was delicious, but the frosting was a bit much for me. The food was solid, but didn't knock my socks off. For 8 dollars it better be an amazing dessert. I would come back if the prices were lower and there was somewhere to sit.
