I was told by Matt (one of the movers assigned to my move) that customers tell him all the time they will write a review but never come through. This may be why the lacking number of reviews. I was almost one of them but I HAD to write this review because I could be helping YOU (reading this review now) who like me, when I was in the searching phase, was unsure whether I should book with them or not. What made me choose the Home Team Moving and Delivery: the first couple of movers I wanted to initially go with both were based solely on price but they had no website, no reviews, and I just did not have a good feeling about either one especially when the first of the two did not follow through with confirmation. When I went back to the drawing board to decide who would help me with my move I was caught between Home Team and another company. The other company had comparable rates to Home Team but they expected me to provide a truck, and if I didn't, their rate nearly doubled. O_o Even though there were only three reviews I based my decision off of, the reviews seemed genuine and they were detailed enough that I believed they were by real customers, no fake accounts to boost reviews. Matt and Rory were both assigned to my move from Marietta, GA to Lithonia, GA. I was quoted a four hour move and my move was exactly four hours. Before even meeting them, I got a call the day before confirming the move and they also went over the items to be moved to ensure they provide the appropriate-sized truck. They arrived EARLY which started the move off on the right foot and it stayed that way throughout the entire move. Both movers were congenial, friendly and sociable while at the same time extremely time-cautious and efficient. I was 65-75% packed, no boxes sealed close yet (for any last-minute adds) and Matt came in saying "No problem. That's what we're here for." Recommendation for those who are planning to move: plan to start packing a week or so in advance, a couple boxes at a time. When it came time to move I wasn't stressed out at all because I had tackled a brunt of the packing. I knew where a majority of my items were. The last-minute items I had to pack, I was able to rely on my short-term memory to remember what was packed where which helped during the unpacking process. Matt and Rory took care of the rest from dismantling my king-sized bed, packing up the remainder items I had not yet packed, and emptying my entire closet with CLOTHES STILL ON THE HANGERS. I was completely stressed about this because I thought either I would have to be responsible for removing my clothes or that the movers would have required it to be off the hangers and folded. NOPE, they literally emptied my closet and unpacked it in my new location within a blink of the eye. I kept calling them magicians because they moved so fast! They also moved my ENTIRE CHEST with filled drawers. I didn't have to empty the drawers for them to be able to pack it up and move it. Side note: I must say I was concerned about my king-sized bed because I remember when it was delivered by the furniture company how much effort was taken into putting all the pieces together. But Matt and Rory handled it like the pros they are! I loved that they only charged a standard hourly rate: no hidden charges, no trip fees, no additional hour charge just because and no per mileage charge. Included within the standard hourly rate was an additional stop at Best Buy to pick up a TV while en route to Lithonia. There was another moving company that quoted me what would have been an additional charge for the Best Buy stop. Another thing I loved about them, was that they took pleasure in moving. I remember Matt responding to me apologizing for (what I thought was) ordering them around so much and he pleasantly stated "That's what we're here for." They handled my items with care, NO DAMAGE whatsoever. Even with a couple of "how can this be accomplished" circumstances i.e. being able to fit my king sized mattress up the stairs with a low-bearing ceiling, my king-sized bed frame up the stairs or my new TV atop my chest, they figured out a solution to every issue that arose. I completely trusted them and they made what can be stressful very pleasant. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM, so much so I called Matt back to return for a second time to help me haul a TV upstairs after having to return the previous one I had. He was more than willing to accept with the same enthusiasm as the day of my initial move. Thank y'all for making my move a breeze. Will not hesitate to use them hands down when it comes to my moving needs in the future.
