I had purchased a nesting kids table with some chairs and an acrylic cover a few months ago. Initially I opted for the pick up option because I did not want to pay $120 for shipping. Boy was that a mistake on my part. First of all the production is very slow. Everything is on back order for months and my products came in two separate shipments. If you don't pick up your product within a week of notification, it gets shipped back. So first time I got the table and chairs was a breeze. I used the online order function to give my ETA, my actual arrival time, and it was loaded it a timely manner when I waited in the pick up parking lot. A few months later I received a message saying my acrylic top had arrived. So a few days after that, I came by, the application wasn't working. It could not seem to distinguish between the part or the order I already picked up vs the last part of the order. I called the store and waited 20 minutes in a pick up spot. Finally went inside to inquire about my item. Nearly an hour after waiting, I was told it must have been misplaced because the staff couldn't not locate it. It was not where it should have been. They would call me tomorrow with an update. I received a call the next day. And it seems like the system thought I hadn't pick up any of my items, which is why the staff has issues with searching for all of it. I clarified with them I had everything except for the cover. They indeed were able to locate that cover. I drove back again the next day at opening thinking it would be relatively empty. There was barely any parking. After I squeezed into a corner spot I called in again since the website still wasn't working. Waited half an hour and no one came. I ended up going into the store again. Put my name on the on the pick up notifications station again. Another half hour passed by when a clerk finally came up to me with the cover. He sheepishly said he could only find the cover and not the other items. I told him, for the zillionth time, I have everything else. Overall, the wasted time of having to drive back and forth, along with the wait time between the store and parking lot, was pretty miserable. I'm sure between the holiday season, perhaps a staffing issue, and the pick up website, it just set up for the perfect storm. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. I still think the items the store sells are great quality and unique, especially the natural ones. read more

Shout out to C&B for my experience yesterday shopping for dishes. More specifically, to their standout associate Jillian. I was in the tableware section for about an hour, and Jillian was handling the very busy section almost completely by herself, the whole time with a smile on her face and a friendly, happy-to-help attitude. I don't recall the last time I saw a retail employee doing such a stellar job while providing friendly customer service. I have a thing for home decor (love to decorate) and cookware so Crate & Barrel is one of those stores that I drop in just to see what is new, what I have to have! Over the years I have been here many times and own a variety of items including a custom chair in a slate blue material that looks awesome in my living room; a large piece of art; various kitchen appliances, several serving pieces; vases; kitchen gadgets, and lots of Christmas ornaments and holiday decor. The holiday and Christmas decor is so unique and pretty, every year. For Christmas 2020 they collaborated with Papa Leo to sell a 6-piece set of white ceramic pasta shaped ornaments. Love!!! $10 of every sale went to Feeding America's Food Bank. The he set contains a cavatappi, ravioli, orecchiette, rigatoni, wagon wheel and farfalle. Since I am such a foodie and pasta is my thing, these are my favorite Christmas ornaments of all time! They looked so good on my tree, reflecting my personality and adding a bit of whimsy. I hope they do another collaboration next year. As many reviewers have stated, the customer service people working there don't proactively approach customers to see if they need help. It's strange because at most stores someone greets you the minute you walk in and they ask, "can I help you fine anything." I usually find that question annoying as I'm usually in a store to check everything out, not going in with a single purpose. So I never mind that those working leave me alone except for the time I was buying the chair. It took me at least 30 minutes to get someone to help me and it's not a purchase you can make unassisted as you have to select the fabric, color of chair legs, etc. The color and fabric pattern was so perfect to contrast and compliment my existing furniture that I found the patience to wait. I started to feel as if they didn't think I could afford to buy anything! Finally, a woman helped me. The chair was custom made based on my selections so it took a 6 weeks to get. It arrived right on schedule. Delivery was easy, the workers took care bringing it in and unwrapping it. No issues at all. And it looks fabulous and is super comfortable. Because I like the various products, quality and prices, I still give Crate and Barrel high marks. read more

I just spent nearly $4,000 on two display cases made of tin and glass One would expect them to be of high quality but unfortunately, that was not the case. Both display cases had peeling paint, and one lacked the tipping straps If it were not for the significant hassle of returning them, would do so. Instead I will repaint them and obtain the straps myself. This is our second purchase from Crate & Barrel, and the first one also had a similar experience. There is evidently no quality control. I give Crate and Barrel the award for most greetings I've ever had in my entire life in a single visit. I was greeted by 23 different employees (sometimes more than once) in the span of about 12 minutes. That's on average of about once every 30 seconds. And during that time in the span of about 1 minute I was greeted 5 times which is about once every 12 seconds. It was like an eerie dystopian future where around every corner is someone saying hello and asking if they can help you, but all you really want to do is get in and get out as fast as you can. I did the math and I think without the greetings I would've only been in the store about 6 minutes instead of 12. If their job is to greet customers and double the amount of time they are in the store well then they all deserve a raise... read more

Went in to specifically check out a particular furniture line. Not impressed with the lackluster customer service, felt like I was blessed to receive assistance. However, the person did take initiative to see if they had a leftover piece in back. Nada. Everything is online these days and here's what I don't like about that: can't tell the the texture by feel, can't see the color, can't explore the drawers, shelves and don't know where it's made. Terrible experience, waste of precious time. Shopping for furniture is just disappointing, depressing and we still haven't found what we are looking for...does a real furniture store exist anymore? I highly recommend ordering any furniture pieces online and not through this store. If anything goes wrong in the ordering process (which I promise it will) - the sales associate and customer service teams (apparently these are two separate in store teams) either 1. Do not get back to you 2. Act like having a conversation about anything going wrong is beneath them 3. Tell you you need to wait until a different day to get something solved and then 4. Act like they're doing you a favor for finally solving the issue. Our in store shopping experience was great, but it's very obvious once your credit card is charged no one at the store or CB cares about you. There's also this extremely weird mentality that in store/online customer support can't cross and you can only be helped by the original sales associate. Save yourself the hassle and either only order online and don't order from Crate abs Barrel. Poor quality merchandise, not worth the cost and no returns possible past 3 months. We moved into a new home and spent over $5000 on rugs, beddings, dinner ware, cutlery and glasses. Within weeks glasses cracked, bedding frayed and rugs have threads popping out. I tried to return items recently and was told it was past their 90 day return period. We live out of town and can't get into the store very often. read more

We really love the design of furniture from Crate and Barrel. However, your delivery is the worst in the industry. I've 2 orders from Crate and Barrel and both of them were found broken right of the boxes. Based on local delivery company's information, the boxes were damage already when they receive from the semi-truck.  Another order is a dining table and it has cracked wood piece on the place where should be connected to table top. we're lucky to have a replacement but it's on back order. The waiting is forever.  Another item we got is a sectional and it has broken wood edge. Unfortunately, this item we bout was on sale and we couldn't get a replacement or return since the sale is final. This has put me in a second thought, what if you got a broken leg or unusable sofa after you find it out of the box? According to my recent experience, buying things from Crate & Barrel is risky. You payed thousands of money and you might have something that's damage and i'd never recommend to anyone. Think twice if you'd like to order. read more

This is just one of those stores I enjoy doing a drop by and wander through every now and again to maybe find a gift or even just some ideas for the house, kitchen or outdoor set. **WC** This was my first time wandering through in a chair and it was smooth sailing. Their elevator is HUGE but somehow tucked away in the back but easy to find if you need it like me since most have the escalator option. Their furniture and room displays are pretty spot on though and I never had trouble moving around. This time around I just did not find anything that spoke to me. read more

This company is awful ...they insist on you having all of your money upfront and then keep stringing you along. They promise that it is in stock and will be delivered immediately in a month later they finally admit that they are not gonna be shipping your items. Their stock is very expensive and not high-quality I've been buying from them for years and I will not ever step foot in one of those stores again. read more

The staff are rude and they don't open on time. They treat their customers like they are doing them a favor. Three people were dusting shelves while one person was doing all the pick up orders. Since they don't want you in their store anymore, this is the preferred way to Shop. And of course they didn't have the entire order. Don't think you'll get any help with corporate, they disconnected their phone a few months ago. You can only text customer service and they take about 3 days to say hello and they still wont resolve the issue. What was once great is now terrible. Sad just sad. Ordered from the Crate and Barrel on Couch Street store; the guy got my shipping address wrong and it was shipped anyway. When I called to have them ship to the store so I could pick up later, the guy had no clue about how to call Fed Ex and have them reroute it back to the store (something I can do myself!!). He actually called the main customer service line and asked for assistance, to pass it off on them. He was lazy and rather arrogant. I overheard him being rude to the CS agent on the phone as well, his fellow employee, as if it was her fault. read more

I took my 4 year old son with me today to pick up a few things, and Kim at the cash register was the absolute best. She could see that my son wanted to be involved, so she gave him some important business to do -- she gave him a card and asked him to write his name and age on it, which kept him happily occupied while we sorted out the checkout details. She never rushed us, and she kept him so happily engaged by chatting with him while she worked. When he was done with the work she'd given him, she tied the card on the bag and brought it around the counter for him to carry. When we came back later in the morning after getting a snack (to play with a display toy he'd really loved), she said hi to him again by name. It really moved me -- so many times kids are simply ignored by adults in these kinds of situations, but she really went above and beyond to make him feel important and included. This review is solely based on the service here. We frequent C&B quite often. And at least 50% of the time we are never approached. Today we walked around for 20 minutes - no eye contact, no smile, no hello. I had to go up to a sales associate at the counter and notify her that we wanted to purchase something. It's a bit alarming because other people were being helped, just not us. We arrived at 6:45 PM. The store was not crowded, and there were plenty of associates available. Once we were at the register, Kathleen was very helpful and pleasant. No issues with her great service once she helped out. I can't say the same for the associate who looked briefly at me and then looked away. We have spent quite a bit of money at C&B - coffee tables, a couch, bench, etc. But this location in particular, has lackluster service. Management should have a conversation with the staff about approaching customers from all ethnicities. read more

We were really excited to purchase a great couch from Crate and Barrel and were even totally okay with the super long wait time for a custom couch. What I wasn't expecting and it sounds like I am not the only one was the customer service in the store. Our rep, Paul did not seem interested in us at all, just the purchase and getting me to sign up for the credit card that didn't even get me a discount on the purchase, just rewards that I have to use in the store. Our order was also entered wrong and only after two months when I got my order confirmation and saw the discrepancy did I have to call and get put through the ringer in order to finally get it corrected but I only found out it was corrected with an updated confirmation form, no call from the store or customer service who said they would call. The couch is coming but this will be the last time I order large furniture at C&B, I am going to Room and Board if I am to spend the money on something nice. read more

Look, I know delivery times suck. But after recently moving into a new house with no furniture and having to shop through all the different furniture companies out there, I found the same thing is happening with all these companies. Delivery delays and damage. The average wait time for most places I've used is six months. The only exception I found was at City Home in Portland. I ordered a beautiful dining room table and amazing ottoman on Sunday, they were delivered the following Thursday. Not sure how they're keeping the stock up to be able to do this but they are. As for the big companies like West Elm, crate and barrel, interior define and even Dania here in Portland have all had delivery times of at least six months. These are the companies I've recently bought furniture from. Supply chain issues are just a thing right now and will be for quite some time so be patient these companies are good companies they're just having a hard time. read more

C&B is like a fancier IKEA. The furniture still feels disposable and everything is mixy-matchy. It's IKEA for grownups, as the designs are less modern and cutesy and are more traditional and substantial. Don't get me wrong, I love C&B, I have the Troy couch and chaise, my wedding registry was there and I got a console table today courtesy of wedding gift cards. It just doesn't feel like a REAL furniture store to me. The stuff is nice, but I imagine it will eventually need to be replaced and none of it will be passed down like real furniture can be. The service at this C&B is lovely, they cheerfully made sure the table was in stock, rung up my purchase, and then I drove around the side of the building and a wonderful person helped put the purchase in my car. The store is bright and clean, well managed, and all the people working there are helpful. The only downside is the parking. Parking can really suck. Go during the week if you can. Umbrellas for your use are kept outside the doors, so you wont get rained on as you walk around Bridgeport and shop. That's a nice touch. read more

I special ordered a couch from Bridgeport store. I ordered in March and it was delivered in August. The couch was a sectional. The middle piece was the wrong color and damaged, like they gave me a returned piece. I was assured that the delivery people would see if it was a warehouse mistake and my piece would be delivered........ No one called me to address the mistake. I called the store and went in to document the damage. I was told by the sales associate that they would need to reorder the middle section but they would expedite it and it would be ready for delivery in 1 to 2 weeks. I waited almost 3 weeks, again no one called me. I called the store to check on the piece, I was informed that the piece would not arrive until November now. When I mentioned to the woman on the phone that I was told it would be expedited ( to be fair, I was frustrated but respectful)she became irritated and told me she didn't know why that was a problem, I had a couch to sit on didn't I? She told me that the Supervisor Monica would call me and discuss the issue. Been 6 days, no call. It is pretty much the customers problem when things go wrong. They take no responsibility to try and make it right. Super disappointed, I love the furniture. I was going to buy a sideboard and wine rack but after this experience, I will be looking elsewhere. read more

Crate & Barrel, oh how I love you... let me count the ways. I have had an ongoing love affair with C&B since day 1... their private store opening I attended with my parents, I was in college and years away from being the decor addict I am today. Fast forward to my engagement in 2005 my husband and I (21 & 22) at the time attended the registry event. I felt like a baby and under dressed compared to the other couples there, but there were mimosas-score! We picked out everyday (Aspen) and formal china (Audrey-now discontinued) as well as silverware (Tuscany). After 6+ years of marriage we still love these items and use them everyday. Occasionally we have replaced chipped items. Almost everything in my kitchen is from C&B, as well as some bedding & home decor. I purchased the fabulous Rojo cabinet in 2011 that I ended up selling to a friend since there was not a suitable place for it in our new house. I love my Shun knives. Their seasonal merchandise is modern & fun. There are so many things I appreciate about C&B... it is affordable, the employees awesome, the products are quality, the website is easy to use and if I ever have a problem the staff goes above and beyond to help me. I was just there today and picked up 6 9" every bowls (pasta bowls) the 7" Altitude serving bowl, the Sweets Small Pedestal and some other goodies my grand total was about $85. I know these are items I will enjoy for years to come. Crate & Barrel, I am and will continue to be a customer for life. read more

What a sad day to realize that a company you have always liked and done business with over the years is no longer a viable option. As the customers below have indicated, if you purchase anything from them you will be in world of pain. Purchased a stock chair in May 2021 and still not delivered. They will not cancel stating it was a custom order (it was not) and now that the chair is ready for delivery the charged the full amount. They state they can't deliver until Dec (6 weeks away). This place is way out of my price range, but boy howdy do I love their stuff. I just bought a bookshelf with a nifty built-in desk, which was just the thing the wall in my apartment was missing.
