I furnished almost my entire home from Crate & Barrel assuming it's a great brand and quality. Unfortunately, three of my dining chairs fell apart. Their most popular selling sofa looks horrible just after a year and also broke down not to mention the main frame snapped in half on the arm. Looks horrible not because of misuse but because of the quality it was made from . I was hesitant to leave a negative remark. I walked into this location excited to buy an entire new kitchen set: dishes, cookware, and more. Unfortunately, my experience with one of the sales associates completely changed my plans. When I approached a saleswoman to ask about a specific type of plate, she seemed irritated from the start. As I described what I was looking for, she actually said I was "giving her a headache" and that she was "getting a headache trying to understand" me. Her tone and body language were dismissive, and the options she showed me weren't even close to what I had described. I ended up finding the exact item on my own. But at that point, I was so uncomfortable and embarrassed by how she treated me that I left the store altogether. I'm happy to provide the exact date and time I was in the store so management can review the video footage and see what occurred firsthand. I strongly suggest that management and the leadership team provide proper customer service training, especially for front-facing staff. When customers walk in ready to make a purchase, they deserve to be treated with respect and basic courtesy. Because of this experience, I will not be returning to this location. ------- UPDATE: I decided to give Crate & Barrel BH a second chance and went back to the store recently. Unfortunately, my experience was very similar to the first one. I interacted with three different employees, and there continued to be a noticeable lack of interest in helping customers. I asked for assistance with a specific item, and although I eventually received help and did end up making a purchase, it felt like pulling teeth to get basic answers or guidance. The store was very slow at the time I walked in, so it wasn't an issue of them being busy or overwhelmed. Overall, it seems like the staff at this location are focused on doing the bare minimum rather than providing genuine customer service. Whether it's a management issue or something else, the employees would really benefit from some training on how to engage with customers and offer support. I came to Crate & Barrel recently because I needed some kitchen supplies. I was greeted right when I walked into the store which was very nice. I had specific items I was looking for and the lovely associate, Nella, helped me find them with ease. I've had mixed experiences at this location in the past with customer service but this particular visit was a 5 star experience. There are not many places in the area to shop for kitchen supplies. Crate & Barrel carries my favorite and trusted name brands such as Le Creuset, Kitchenaid, Greenpan, Scanpan, Breville, All-Clad, Smeg etc. My family cooks most of our meals at home because we like to eat healthy so having high quality kitchen supplies and cookware is important to us. There is a clearance section in the kitchenware section on the first floor. The had some good items but the savings weren't huge on this visit. This location has a top floor with furniture. It's pretty modern and basic. Nothing too fancy but indeed, practical. I did find a chair that I liked on my browse around the upstairs. It's not the style for my home nor do I need a chair but it was oh so comfy! Crate & Barrel also has curbside pick up when you order online! Metered parking on the street. Free 2 hour parking in the public parking lot next door. There are two parking lots there so make sure to park in the one that says "Public Parking." read more

The most unpleasant customer service I have encountered. I went to the location to order a bar cart for an upcoming event. The staff ordered the wrong color which we discovered upon delivery. The staff and manager did not recognize the mistake when I went back in store to look for a solution. They both refused to offer alternatives, such as letting me purchase the floor sample, or expedite shipping. And insisted that I should pay for another bar cart while awaiting for a refund, which will not be shipped by the event date. The manager insisted that I "(am not) loosing anything". Not owning up to a honest mistake and not offering concessions. I will never in my good conscience recommend anyone to purchase from this location. read more

I don't know what is happening here, but after reading the reviews about this store location, it shows time and time again the staff is not up to par with the Crate and Barrel image. It sounds like some of the staff members are rude to their customers and I can attest to that as I've experienced that today, myself. Now, I'm not sure how the rest of the employees are, but the person I am going to mention is a lady named Araina. Honestly, I thought maybe it was a one-off situation, but I got on Yelp and wanted to see the history of the recent posts as I rely on this medium as my go-to info for reviews and I noticed there were a ton of negative comments regarding the staff and how they are to their customers. My Story: I had asked one of the members on the first floor where the bathroom was and an employee had advised that it was upstairs near a certain wall. I went upstairs and could not find the bathroom so, I had asked the nearest employee where it was. A middle-aged lady with red glasses and long straight hair behind the counter (Araina) closest to the window towards the street. She answered with "the bathroom is for customers only." Right then and there, I was surprised that she had even mentioned that to me. Which I had responded that I am a customer. Then she gave me another look as if I was lying to her. Then says it's only for paying customers. Mind you, I've NEVER been treated this way before and I was livid. LIVID. She then starts to "guilt trip" me into saying that this is the stores policy and repeats it's for customers. I'm not the type to confront people publicly. I also don't know if she was having a bad day (and have a level of empathy for people), but the way I was treated doesn't allow her to be a not-so-kind individual. To be honest, I felt like I was targeted as if I was "another Asian tourist." I know people reading this might think I may be pulling the race card, but I don't encounter this type of behavior from others and I think it comes from a place of entitlement. Everything about that interaction really ticked me off. Like I said, I'm not the one to publicly shame people for their behavior even though I know it wasn't right what they did. If it was the company policy, how do they judge who is a customer or not. Why did the employee downstairs direct me to where the bathroom was but not the person on the 2nd floor? If it's policy, then why wasn't everyone consistent in saying that it's for paying customers only. Does that mean they only target specific people or is that what they say to everyone? Highly unlikely or else a lot of people would have felt insulted. Why do I need to defend myself if I was a customer or not? Things I think their corporate office should really look into when it comes to training on the floor and interacting with customers. Not once in my 35 years have I ever felt like I wasn't welcomed into a store. What even bothers me the most is that I actually love Crate and Barrel and even CB2 because of its aesthetics and style and quality. Let's say I didn't purchase an item, am I not considered a customer? It just baffles me how she said it. I will say, the staff member who rang me up was sweet though. I described Araina's physical features and the cashier had identified her. I felt bad to put her in an awkward position but told her that my encounter with Araina left a really bad taste. She had asked if I wanted this info to be told to anyone else and it was her choice to let Araina know or a manager. But the Customer Service that we have experienced since buying a nearly $6000 couch has been disgraceful! After buying a couch in November, we are still waiting for the third piece that we were told was expected in mid-January (after not being told it was going to be this delayed) When I called tonight to check on it given its mid-Jan - there was no consideration or desire to help from manager, Tony. Little did I know that the Grinch was working over time posing as one of the hands down rudest employees I've ever encountered working in customer service... I specifically asked this customer representative (Middle aged woman with long brunette hair + glasses) on the 1st floor if she knew where the "Spaghetti strainers" are and she flat out told me "No" in the most "Why-are-you-bothering-me-I-can't-believe-you-just-asked-me-this-question-and-I-can't-be-bothered-attitude-as-she-nonchalantly-walked-away"... There wasn't even an ounce of pointing me in the right direction or at least attempting to tell me where I might find it? I found it extremely rude and disrespectful. 100% you know where it is. You work in the store and you work on this floor. Maybe she thought I was one of the slew of International rich Chinese tourists who often flood these stores... I'm not. I'm not that guy. I am the guy who will express my displeasure and dissatisfaction though. I asked another associate (Male) who pointed where the strainers were to me less than 30 feet away and I told him about the encounter and he quickly apologized for her behavior. Funny thing is she seemed quite friendly to some other customers, don't know why she was giving me attitude. I went to the 2nd floor where I had a few questions about couches. Big ups to Jason and Sy. on the 2nd floor for at least attempting to see like they want to work and be here on Christmas Eve. They were friendly and offered me suggestions and options on what I specifically wanted in terms of an ottoman. Hilarious is that Diedre or Deanna (I believe this is the lady that blew pasted me and say "No" actually made her away to the 2nd floor and walked right by me and I stared her right in the eyes waiting for an apology or "Sorry I was busy..." but I just got a nice long thousand yard stare instead. I saw a dining room chair on C&B's website that I was interested in ordering. We went to this store and they did not have the chair on display, at that store or anywhere else in SoCal. We asked if we could order it to the store and try it out there, and the person we talked to encouraged us to do so. I ordered it, it came in, and we drove back to the store to check it out. They said "unfortunately, if we unwrap the chair, we would have to charge you a restocking fee if you don't want it". So we literally could not even look at the chair in person without committing to paying a restock fee, and the store was clearly not willing to take the L for what could have been a $2000 purchase. Worst customer service ever -- skip this location and Crate & Barrel all together if you ever want to receive your order!!! We ordered thousands of dollars worth of furniture back in August, after dealing with one rude employee downstairs we went upstairs where "JR" helped us place the order. He said "oh it won't arrive until October, is that okay?" And we agreed that timeline worked. In October, we looked at the order and it said now arriving in November. When November hit, we called and JR was clueless and said there was nothing he could do. It also took him over 30 minutes to tell us that after placing us on hold. Two bedroom pieces were ready for delivery last week and we confirmed the appointment. We got a follow up and the DAY OF they called to confirm. Not even 20 minutes later, someone calls and says they "forgot to put one of the pieces on the truck"... ummmm what???? Like, really? Needless to say, the delivery never happened. We called the general customer service line and they said it's not delivered because of COVID....????? Noooo it wasn't delivered because it wasn't "on the truck". Well, here's the truth... after talking to yet another employee.... it was actually BACKORDERED and it was never actually on the truck or warehouse at all. They had no idea why we had a delivery appointment!!?! There are serious communication problems with this company, especially when FOUR employees all have different excuses for us not getting the furniture the day of our delivery. Today, we get an email that our couch will have two pieces available at the end of December and one piece is backordered. Are you kidding me???? Long story short... don't waste your time and money. Crate & Barrel SCAMMED ME. I bought furniture from them in April, and they delivered defective items in May. I tried to get them replaced as soon as I received them, and they agreed, but the replacements were in even worse condition than the originals. After four long months of dealing with this nonsense, I decided to return the defective items because they failed to replace them. All customer service representatives agreed to the return and refund. However, the corporate customer service supervisor, Shannon D., decided to put my order on "final sale," changing the original terms of the purchase. She refused to continue the replacements or allow me to return the items for a refund. She walked away with my money, acting like a complete scam and blatantly violating consumer protection laws. To make matters worse, the C&B delivery team caused damage to my property during the delivery service because they came smoking weed and they were high and unfocused. And the supervisor, Shannon D., just walked away from the destruction in my property, refusing to pay for the repairs. My experience with this corporate customer service supervisor, Shannon D., was horrific. Instead of addressing the issue and showing any problem-solving skills, she decided to punish and discriminate against me, refusing to replace my furniture or pay for the damage in my home simply because I pointed out the truth of her unprofessional and careless behavior. I've never encountered a supervisor so shameless, irrational, and narcissistic who RETALIATES against customers. This woman is going to drag Crate & Barrel down!.. Because of her terrible management, hundreds of customers are complaining and dissatisfied; and many lawyers are lining up to offer class action lawsuits against this fraudulent operation. Save your money and don't buy from Crate & Barrel--just go directly to RH or Arhaus, which are far more reputable and serious companies! Waited total of 30 minutes at 2 different registers and no one even bothered to help us. Plenty of chiefs but no Indians to actually help the customers. When we left our items with the cashier frustrated, their attitude was one of no big deal. Extremely unorganized and process was very inefficient. You need 2-3 staff members to resolve complex customer issues, the rest can help with fast checkouts. You are penalizing those with fast checkouts to have to wait until those complex problems are resolved which can take longer than just few minutes. Very poorly managed store!!!! read more

This would be a five-star review if all I considered were the product, but unfortunately, this location falls short in management. I am surprised there are no complaints from this elderly lady who was at the store at the same time I was dealing with a problematic return, a few days ago. The way the manager (I believe his name is Hugo, a bald and short man with a nasty attitude) treated her was appalling, with no respect for her age and no attempt at all to meet her in the middle. When he walked over to "help" me I was already expecting something bad considering the way he was speaking to her (I think she was trying to understand how to use a product and he told her to look online, instead of offering to help) but man... what I got was much worse. I have never been in the presence of such a dismissive and arrogant person before, and the way he addressed his employees, waving his hands, pointing and talking down and over them... I am shocked he still has any left. Sadly, someone like this is allowed to run a store of this caliber; where are his bosses to manage him? Where I generally shop in Northern California people are kind, they listen, and they try to accommodate their guests. I understand there are limits to what people can and can't do, but to walk into a conversation with a bad attitude without even putting down his laptop is an abomination. After waiting 8+ months since I ordered from Crate and Barrel July 9, 2021, 16+ delayed notifications later and no effort from Crate and Barrel to recognize a loyal and patient customer, I decided to cancel my sofa order yesterday. Although the person at the BH Crate and Barrel was very kind, there was no effort to try to rectify the situation nor to retain me as a customer. It was assumed that I'll simply return to the store given they are 1 of just a few big box furniture retailers. I placed a new sofa order with Scandinavian Designs on February 6 and my new sofa is arriving on Friday, February 18. ***BE PREPARED TO ASSEMBLE IT YOURSELF -- WHITE GLOVE SERVICE WAS RUDE AND DID NOT ASSEMBLE SOFA AS PROMISED*** I ordered a sofa based on the Beverly Hills sales person's guarantee that I could order the unit UNASSEMBLED and that their White Glove Service would include taking it down a narrow set of steps into my Airbnb rental apartment. The sofa was six months late due to the pandemic, not their fault. When it was ready and I received a call from the same person at Crate and Barrel Beverley Hills, I repeated my issue that the unit would have to be assembled in place and was assured it would be no problem. had already disassembled the existing sofa and carried it out to the street piece by piece. When the delivery company came with my sofa, it was not disassembled and the delivery man said it would not fit down my stairs. They said they wouldn't deliver it and would take back to the distribution center. At that point, I had no sofa and paid guests arriving at my Airbnb later that day. I asked if they could do their best and take it apart, then take downstairs, which they refused. At best, they would just dump the unit in my driveway, and drove away, which they did. I had about six hours to figure out how to disassemble the sofa myself, and called the store to speak with my sales person. He said he'd try to find out from the manufacture how to take it apart and promised to call me back. When he didn't call and I called back later that afternoon, I was told he had left for the day WITHOUT CALLING ME. I ended up finding assembly instructions on the website for the sofa manufacturer, took it apart, carried down the steps myself in pieces and reassembled, just in time for my incoming guests. If the delivery guys had attempted to even lift a f***ing finger and spend a few minutes helping me disassemble the unit and carry it downstairs, it would have been done hours earlier. I have nothing but DISGUST for Crate and Barrel and specifically for the Beverly Hills store and the salesperson, Parker. He should be fired. read more

I bought a couple things online and selected store pick-up. Miraculously, C&B still does pandemic-era curbside pick-up, which I so appreciate especially in BH where parking is atrocious and even more so because it meant I could stop on my way home from the vet without having to drop off my dog at home first. When your items are ready, you receive an email. When you're on your way, you click on a link in the email to give them your ETA. And then, when you arrive, you click on the link that tells them you've arrived. Someone came to greet me immediately, verified my information, and then came right back out with my items within a couple minutes. Such a fantastic customer experience. read more
