I also order myself carnitas (delicious) and one chicken quesadilla for my Mom. My mom is such a picky eater but she really enjoyed the quesadilla and was talking about how meaty it was for days. Little Rey's (IMO) is Alpaca Restaurant meets Mexican in the best way possible. The line for the food was a solid 30-45 minute wait. So don't be like me, have a seat, pull out your phone, use the code on the table, view menu, and order and pay. However, they have employees who greet customers and begin your drink menu while you wait in line. We ordered the half chicken, Gringa tacos, guacamole, and queso. Little Rey has a pretty extensive salsa bar, with approximately 7-8 varieties. The salsa bar spans the gambit from mild, mid-hot, smoky, and creamy options. The star of the show is the smoked chicken! So good with the corn tortilla, green salsa, grilled onions and grilled jalapeño! Moving forward I'll add an order of the chicken taco to get the perfect bit without the mess! The Gringa/Picadillo taco was good. And while I am a Gringa, and I love a Taco Bell sour cream situation, that almost mayonnaise flavor didn't sit well with my soul. However, the meat itself was super flavorful. I'd ditch the flour tortilla for corn , and opt for another salsa, add pico, and I think we are there. We weren't a fan of the rice, if I'm being honest - but will try again. The person who I sent to pick it up said that she was turned away and told that the order could not be fulfilled. I was never notified despite the fact that I am the purchaser, not to mention the fact that the store had my information because of the online order. I have lost $160 to this order in addition to an improvised order at the last minute that cost a bit more because of this debacle. No one except an automated response has ever been in touch with me to apologize or to make right the fact that I have essentially been robbed of my money. Until I hear back from this restaurant and they compensate me, I will never eat from a CAVA store ever again. I cannot think of a more disrespectful way to treat paying customers. These people should be ashamed of themselves.

After viewing the menu I chose to create my own bowl. All of the ingredients are already prepared and chosen as you walk along the display of food and toppings. I got jasmine rice as my base and added herb roasted chicken, hot black beans, corn, tomatoes, feta cheese, pico, tortilla crunch with the avocado cilantro dressing. The ingredients tasted fresh and I got large pieces of chicken. The bowl was filling. The beans were low in quantity when the server was preparing my bowl but instead of changing out the container the clerk drained the juice off the beans to fill my bowl. I asked for a cup of water and was charged 50 cents for it. I was also charged $1.00 for cheese. I don't mind paying for the items but I feel like I should be told that there is a charge for these items.
