**BEWARE** USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!****I had dents in the hood of my Jeep from the hail storm. They work with a guy named Edgar Torres who is in the same complex and does body work A1 Paint and Body Work, Unit 205. Miguel works at Craftsman. Edgar would get referrals and take them to Craftsman for PDR. His friend Miguel works in the shop. They did terrific work, however I received a parking ticket while my Jeep was in their shop for paintless dent repair. It has been parked overnight at someone's apartment without the alarm turned on. Apparently, they thought it is was ok to use my vehicle as a daily driver (Edgar lied, said it would be safe in the fenced in area behind Craftsman, locked and they also have a strict policy on driving a vehicle). There is no reason to drive a vehicle that is having body work or PDR! Edgar's excuse for his friend (if it was really him that drove it) went on to say that "Miguel" was going through a rough patch: divorce, car repossessed." ARE YOU KIDDING ME, that makes it ok, WTF?! How many other cars were driven? Because the parking ticket was sent to my PO BOX, which I rarely check due to I know what my bills are, and Miguel or no one advised me of the citation, it was over 15 days due! City of Dallas would not dismiss and added late fees. I had to take 2 hours off from work to go to Oak Cliff for this. For almost 2 weeks, I was given the runaround by Edgar that he would pay it (which always ended in a lie) as well as Jeremy Cox, the owner of Craftsman. My last call on 9/22/17 I spoke with David at Craftsman and he said he'd have Jeremy call me (which Jeremy offered to pay if Edgar didn't) and I also called Jeremy's cell. No call back. Thanks guys for using my Jeep while in your shop, getting a ticket and not telling me, using my gas, costing me money for time off work plus having to pay the ticket and for jerking me around for almost 2 weeks. So unprofessional and shady!
UPDATE: Funny, as Jeremy stated Miguel was his employee and Edgar took me a tour of the Air Conditioned shop (which the other shop is not and PDR requires no higher than 78degrees F for the glue to work). The shop is divide into 2 sections, a front type "showroom" and a back garage part. You walk in on the right, there is a waiting area, with a counter near the back wall and to the right again is a door that goes to the garage where the work is done. It was awesome, clean, the garage part had low light for the 2 Caucasian workers to see under their special lights to get the dents out. One was working on a door, the other a hood on a special rack to hold it. The Garage doors were at the back. The garage was huge! The two men working seem to know Edgar and Miguel. If they weren't supposed to be there one would think the 2 would of said why are you back here? THey didn't. The front showroom part even has a black car hood with half hail damaged and the other half repaired. And how did they have keys? (So no, I guess I was never in Craftsman Hail Team's shop LOL) Jeremy did offer to pay but never followed through. Our last conversation was 9/20/17 when Jeremy was able to get a hold of Edgar and informed me he was paying it 'then.' I told Jeremy that if he didn't hear from me, he'd know it wasn't paid. No follow up, no return call. I called his shop on 9/22/17, spoke to David at which time David stated Jeremy was with a vehicle at the detailer. So I called Jeremy's phone twice. Interestingly,he had both of my numbers and called me today shortly after I posted, but couldn't follow up before. Both he and Edgar were given ample opportunity. I have nothing to gain by lying. But people should know that there is the possibility of having your car used like a rental car while in their shops. People, make your own mind up on who's telling the truth. I also have the documentation. The work was done in Craftsman Hail Team's shop, you'll see if you go there by my description, so regardless of if I physically met Jeremy, one of his employees did the work in that shop. This should have been handled within the first two days of my notifying either Edgar or Jeremy. Why would anyone turn down their offer of paying for the ticket?? Uh, I didn't. They just gave lip service and never followed through!!! I ended up paying the ticket that was received while in their custody with my own money, so it wouldn't go against my credit. (Talk about a hard pill to swallow.) People just need to know what happened. It's frankly not my problem when an owner can't control their own employee and associates as well as gives employees access to their shop 24/7. I don't know anyone who would appreciate their vehicle being driven, parked and ticketed while in the care/custody and control of any shop, especially for HAIL damage. read more
