Check out the space's website at 032.LA to make sure members are there first. It's a just show up and do your own thing kind of lab. You can find people building a space antenna to building an amateur battle robot. I feel that their old DTLA location was more convenient for everyone to get to, but this newer location has more space which houses their machines and tools better. Tools from 3D printer, microscopes, laser cutter to drill press. Great space and would recommend any one with a geeky streak to check out. So legit that it has it's own technology and security conference in May. http://www.layerone.org

My brother is a member of LASFS and they currently use Null Space for their meetings. My brother…read morelost his cell phone so I wanted to ask if a Null Space member found it. When I call on the phone, nothing happens; not even a ring (I have tried multiple times). The web site says that the open/closed sign in their home page indicates whether someone is there but it does not; it seems to be stuck on "Open". The Contact page in the web site does not work; nothing happens when I click the link. So I drove there, since the open/closed sign in the web site said they are open and I did not know that the sign does not work. At the front door the mail box is full of mail (on a Saturday evening) so no one is getting the mail. There are multiple package delivery attempt notifications on the front door. Those are the facts. My impression is that the club is in trouble from inactivity.

A few months ago i had emailed them the first time about a quote, they had their partner company email me and it wasn't like a few hours wait time for a reply, every time i emailed them i would have to wait 3-4 days tops for a RESPONSE. At one point they just stopped replying to me?? I'm never requesting service here again.

The first 3-D printer I ever saw up close, was a Deezmaker "Bukito." I was intrigued because it was…read moretiny, nearly silent, and created precise parts in virtually any shape. A few months later, after researching many printer designs and different brands, I ended up purchasing the big brother, of the Bukito, called the "Bukobot." Since all of this was new to me I thought excellent technical support was critical. Deezmaker is open seven days a week, and you can reach them by email, or by phone, or if you're in the area, in person. Every time I've needed help with something, I've gotten immediate assistance. Best of all, everyone there is not only knowledgeable, but friendly, with none of the attitude that sometimes crops up when you're a beginner asking an expert for help. I've been to the store a dozen times, whenever possible I go to their monthly Meetup, and again and again I've seen a willingness to answer even the most naïve questions. This morning I discovered that a part on my 16-month-old, heavily used printer, had cracked. I drove out to Pasadena, hoping they would have a replacement in stock. Not only did they have it, but they encouraged me to do the work myself while I was there, and provided helpful suggestions, and even let me use their tools to make the repair. If you have any interest in 3-D printing, or simply want to understand something about the mysteries of it, stop by their shop. You will feel truly welcomed, and if you want to delve deeper, I strongly recommend the class they offer, called, "Zero to Plastic," which is a very thorough and well presented introduction to 3-D printing. I've had a lot of fun with my Bukobot, and it has turned into an essential tool in my design studio.
