Went to Thursday trivia night. To be honest it was a bit disappointing. It was hard to hear. The girl running it was kinda not paying attention or so it seemed. And it was difficult to hear her. We got a bit frustrated trying to play. We had a party of 5 including a baby and they were very accommodating. However when trying to pay for the bill I wanted it on 1 check. I physically gave her my credit card to use. She swiped it. And I signed then found out she didn't charge my card it reverted back to the original card. So I had to settle up with the other 2 people to make it right. Just a pain. I couldn't make it clearer on who was paying. Otherwise food still good. Mead is very good. All around ambiance is fun. Still like this place but the trivia night in my mind was a bust. Too difficult to hear and not run very well. read more

All employees encountered were friendly and knowledgeable. We share an order of Mead Hall pretzels. Piping hot, soft and delicious with dips of mustard and nacho cheese. Later we shared a Ragnarok pizza - house hot sausage, pepperoni, jalapeño, onion and hot honey. It can out piping hot and it was delicious. I tried a few meads. Caffè Ameadicano. Sweet session mead (6%) made with coffee and vanilla. Honey and vanilla sweetness balanced with notes of roasted coffee. A Stupid good coffee and vanilla. 13%. Aged on Madagascar vanilla beans and select honey roasted coffee beans from Charleston Coffee Roasters in Charleston, South Carolina. Notes of sweet honey and vanilla with a nice roasty coffee finish. Dragon Heart. 6%. This lightly sweet cherry and raspberry cyser is made from locally pressed cider from Haus Cider Mill and wildflower honey. Balanced with notes of tart fruit, crisp apple, and sweet honey. All meads were amazing and flavorful. We appreciated the ability to get small sizes (3 ounce glasses were a good starter size). Highly recommended. read more

Plenty of pizza options including gluten free. I had the red wine blend which was perfect for my taste. My son had a flight with the award winning meads. Nice size flight pours where the five tastings are held in a box. Can't spill this one. They have a shop not only with their meads but trinkets and attire. Nice clean restrooms too! We recently celebrated Valentine's Day at Crafted Artisan Meadery and it was quite the experience! Housed in a beautifully repurposed church, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and perfect for a romantic evening. The moment we stepped inside, we were struck by the vast size of the building and thoughtful array of merchandise. From unique meads to shirts, jewelry and home decor, there was something for everyone. Our server was attentive and very friendly, recommending several flights and we decided on two that perfectly complemented our meal choices. I selected the Taste of the Season Flight, which featured 5 fall and winter themed meads; my favorites being Ember (guava, passion fruit) and Spiced Maple Cranberry. Melissa chose the Berry Patch Flight, which featured berry prominent meads with names like Raspberry Nirvana and Macho Mead Berry Savage The pizzas were a standout The crust was full & crisp and the toppings were generous(mostly) & delicious. We ordered the El Taco Luchador and Green Knight pizzas (description in photos). I wish the taco pizza would have had more meat, but I guess they have to make it last all year lol They had live music, which added some ambiance to the evening. The special Valentine's Day cocktails were damn good and perfectly presented. I had the Chocolate Cherry Manhattan and honestly, one of the best Manhattans I've had in a long time! Overall, our Valentine's Day dinner at Crafted Artisan Meadery was a memorable and enjoyable experience thanks to the unique setting, delicious food, and attentive service. We came here for the local community market which was held inside today. The location is really cool. It is a renovated church with soaring ceilings and large windows. The balcony was kept and it was very nostalgic. We had never tried meade before and weren't sure what to expect. It was really delicious! It tastes like a combination between wine and hard cider in different flavors. We had two flights and my favorite was Ember and Pollination. The pizza was delicious!! The crust was light and perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crunch. It was so delicious that we ordered a second pizza. You go to the bar and order your food. They brought it to the table fresh and hot and our waitresses were very friendly and knowledgeable. read more

A wonderful unexpected surprise, did not realize this place had moved. Had been to the old location a few years ago and thought they might have closed, (my bad) but......surprise!!!! Just happened to be driving by and stopped for a bite to eat and a tasting. This place is outstanding. They did a great job on remodeling the old church. (went to a wedding there about 20 some years ago when it was a church) They have a couple of big rooms, a nice patio, a small shop and great bar. The mead and drinks are great. They have just enough for everyone to find a favorite. The food is amazing as well, the pizza was fantastic. We absolutely LOVE coming here. We've been long time supporters, long before they moved into their new digs. The new space is great, we love the variety of drinks and food. Most of the servers are the best you'll ever come across these days. The BIGGEST turn off, though, is how they handle the service. It's a stand in line at the bar and order kinda deal but it seems to always be a bottleneck. And you'd think that if you got lucky to find a seat at the bar, that you'd be waited on quickly. This is not the case. It almost is worse because they are constantly overwhelmed by the line at the bar, and no one is dedicated to serving those sitting at the bar. I honestly feel like they should rethink how they are handling this because it is a huge turn off. And it's every time we go. Being busy is great for them but being consistently slammed will highlight your vulnerabilities and weaknesses. A date night here costs us on average $100....it'd be nice to see them use those profits to make improvements to the guest experience. More bartenders, provide table service to avoid people waiting in one LONG line to order, and then having to move to another line to wait for their drinks to be poured. Hopefully they can find a way to improve this because everything else is perfection! read more

Went early on a Friday night. Easily got a table but it did get more crowded around 7 The renovation on this old church is top notch in style and taste. Just beautiful We enjoyed every mess we tried. It was fun picking them and trading with such a large variety to choose from! The food was great, apps we had were milk and honey ricotta dip (the favorite) and meat and cheese board and the soft pretzels. The pretzels were a big disappointment. Basically frozen super pretzels. They were cold and stiff. Based on the pizza crusts, I would love to see a different pretzel offered The pizza menu is fantastic. Sooo many great options, everyone will find something We had salads and pizzas Now the crust is one of the best. Flaky, light, chewy amazing Service is order at the bar. Which is fine but can get backed up in a long line. Runners bring the food to your table but it would be nice if they would clear tables as you go. Our table was only cleared after we were finished. Stopped in on Sunday from out of town. My friend and I have had crafted artisan meads before, but we were very impressed with the meadery. Lovely location in an old church, which is decorated very nicely inside. We were warmly greeted and told that we could sit at the bar or outside on the patio. We sat at the bar so that we could talk to the bartender about all the different meads. He was really helpful with info and to help me build my own flight. My friend went with one of the suggested flights. We were both really impressed with most of what we tried. I especially enjoyed the coffee meads and the dry pear mead. My friend liked the sweet meads, but there were so many to choose from plus beers and other drinks of mead isn't your thing. A really nice looking food menu and the pizzas looked delicious and I loved it. There were so many gluten-free options. We ended up just getting the ricotta cheese with gluten-free Cristini's and it was delicious. I liked it. There were board games and they seem to have a lot of events there throughout the week. If I lived closer, I would definitely be back often. read more

Had a good time at Crafted. Admittedly, my mead experience is fairly limited, so I went with the pre-arranged "Newbie Flight" or something like that. Just a showcase of the versatility of their different offerings. All the staff that we encountered were quite informative after hearing of my newbie status. Definitely a colorful palate of flavors to display here! Each mead was highly distinctive in its own right. The flights are arranged in a small beekeeper's box, and the bee and honey themes carry on with light fixtures reminiscent of bee hives, painted murals of bees collecting pollen, even the backsplash tiles were hexagonal, like honeycombs. Cool attention to detail. We were there on a weekend night, and there was a lone guitarist singing from the choir balcony of this old converted church. The old church definitely lends itself to a unique environment in which to try some honey wines. Inside and outside seating. We didn't try the food, so I can't comment there. This was a cool stop as I was in the area for the weekend. Would go back if near-by again. read more

Had 2 12" pizzas the Greek Goddess and a Crafted Deluxe which were very good. We sampled 2 Mead flights, and had 6 glasses or so. All good Meads. One of us was new to meads and loved a few of them. The Pollen-Nation, the Cherry Cheesecake, and Berry Sessions were the big hitters for us. Overall very nice afternoon. read more

Wow, this place is a hidden gem! My friend introduced me a couple weeks ago and since then I've been back twice. Really neat interior, it's in an old church with a beautiful interior referencing back to it being a meadery. A brightly colored mural of a bee and flowers on their main wall accented by translucent honey light fixtures. So far, all of their meads have been excellent. There has been no disappointment. My personal favorites, Cherry Almond and Apple Crumble. If you want to be able to sample a variety, they have pre made flights or build your own. In regard to food, I've had both their pizzas and nachos. Again, both were great. They have a nice little variety for everyone. Lastly, place never gets super busy which is nice. I highly recommend whether you're looking for a date night or night out with friends! read more

First time here tonight and I have to say I'm impressed. Got in about 6pm on a Saturday and the place was pretty busy. First thing you notice is that the interior of the Meadery is stunning. It's in an old church and its definitely got good vibes. First time having Meade and we tried the Key Lime and the Dragonheart. Both were excellent. We wanted something other than water (which we got anyway) to wash the food down and ordered the "house cola". It was not good. Save your money and buy more meade. The pretzel appetizer was good and the pizza was good as well. Will definitely be back. FYI you have to grab a seat and then order at the bar. Also FYI, they have a nice little gift shop of assorted items including all the mead in bottles. read more

I love this place! I've been going here for years for their seasonal food and drinks. My favorite spring/summer drink is "Gunpowder". It has gin in it and most of my family hates gin but they all love this drink! (They also have a gift shop and their clothes are so soft and comfy). read more

Until I tried Artisan, I thought mead was supposed to taste heavily of honey, like Chaucer's. I'm happy to say that my palette has been awakened. They have really expanded upon the flavor profiles that are typical and taken mead to a whole different level. Whether you like sweet wine or don't, you need to give Crafted a try. I was recently turned on to mead by a friend who gained an interest in making it. As such, we've been on a bit of a 'mead you can find at local stores in N.E. Ohio' kick. The selections at one local Kent beer and wine retailer from Crafted Artisan Meadery always capture my attention with the fun and quirky naming conventions (CinnaMan Bun anyone?) and illustrative labels that adorn many of their sparkling varieties as well as the rather elegant but understated still meads that are offered. After already being a fan of such delights as Stranger Bings (my fave), Planet of the Grapes (a fantastic peanut butter jelly combo), and Macho Mead Berry Savage it was time to take a trip to its home location / tasting room in Suffield which I've inadvertently been driving by for years without stopping at. While small, the tasting room has sufficient space for a few different small to medium sized groups (or at least one pretty large group) with some random board games and a Nintendo connected TV as well in case mashing buttons while mead-ing is a thing you'd like to do. Outside food is allowed and bonus points if you get some to pair with the flavor profiles of the lovely meads available. It being my first time, I decided on the flight option with two still and two sparkling (carbonated) selections which was a very reasonable price for trying a yummy variety in a nice quantity. Since I usually buy bottles of mead that sound more like something I am sure to enjoy, the flight option presented a nice opportunity to try varieties I may not otherwise. In my case, these included those with hops and more 'savory' ingredients like chipotle pepper. These included the Hop Nectar, Traditional, Jinja Dragon, and Chipotle Pollen Nation varieties. Flights come served in generous portions on a flight board and while I may not purchase bottles of a couple I tried for myself, branching out gave me the opportunity to discover at least two new favorites on which I may not otherwise have taken a chance. Since visiting the tap room I have learned that it is THE place to be if you are wanting to pick up one of their limited release varieties - some of which are very special like their Imperial KLP (Key Lime Pie!) aged in rum barrels which was just released - and others of which are released on a monthly schedule available on their social media pages. During our visit they had several varieties of both still and sparkling mead for sale at reasonable prices that seemed to be about $1 less than I've seen at local retailers. Plus when you buy straight from the source if it's on a tasting room night (Friday and Saturday I believe) you also have the opportunity to try some new flavors via flights as well! read more

We're so lucky to have one of the best meaderies in the country here in Ohio. It was a two-hour round trip for me to visit the tap room and it was worth every minute for the bragging rights. I have been a fan of the Crafted brand for a long time, it's one of the few meads that is commonly available at liquor and wine stores, for good reason. It was cool to visit the tap room and be able to try different flavors and have the whole array of different bottles to choose from. The staff is really friendly and helpful, they made it a pleasant stay. I can't recommend them enough, both their bottles and their tap room. read more

I've never had mead before and have driven by this place numerous times saying that I need to stop at this place. I was hesitant in the past because I didn't really know what to do when we got there. It looks like a house so it just seemed confusing to me. Well, my wife and I just decided to go and figure it out. I learned that it was pretty simple once you get in there. The entrance is on the side of the house. Once you step in, there's a front desk there and a girl was there to help us right away. She asked if we had been there before and then she explained how it all works. She showed us the menu and pointed out her favorites. We wanted to do a tasting since we had never tried any mead. You can do 1 oz samples for $1 or you can do 4 - 3 oz samples. We went with the 4 different samples. There are the stills which are more similar in body to wine. We went with the dryest mead (Hop Nectar) and the sweetest (Vanilla Cinnamon Mead). I loved the Hop Nectar and my wife loved the Vanilla Cinnamon. We also got 2 of the sparkling mead. I wanted to try the Maple Harvest but that was unavailable for tasting so we tried the Bananas Foster Forever and the Codex Combustum. The Bananas Foster tasted just like Bananas Foster would taste if you made it into a drink. It was really good but I don't think I could get an entire bottle of it. It would be a good dessert drink though. The Codex Combustum is described as having notes of charred honey and chocolate. Of the 4 meads, this one had the strongest honey flavor, but I definitely noticed that it was a charred flavor. This was my least favorite of the 4. It was still good but I'd choose something else We ended up buying a bottle of the Vanilla Cinnamon Mead that my wife loved for $18.99. It was the cheapest of the 4 stills but all the prices seemed pretty reasonable to me. I loved the experience and would love to go back with some more people. It gets 5 stars from me but I really can't compare to another meadery because I've never been to another. read more

I was here a little while ago. I've never been to a meadery before... to be honest, I've never heard of one! However, I had a very pleasant time. The selections are wonderful and atmosphere is somewhere I can see myself spending a lot of time in moving forward. The staff is so nice and informative, specifically Sydney as she was the prominent employee during my time there. 10/10 would recommend checking this place out!! read more
