We are always trying new crafts & finally got around to exploring Craft Warehouse. So much to choose from, but the fabrics seem a little overpriced. Hard to find an employee available to help us, but the girl at checkout was very friendly & chatty, patient with us as we explored all the fun stuff to buy while waiting in line. read more

It's a fun store to browse. Staff are super friendly. Unlike Joann's though, fabric is not as well marked. I could spend hours at any craft store and thankfully this one is large enough that there is tons to look at. read more

It's not open. The store has closed for some reason. Signs were all over doors and windows and doors were locked at 3pm on a Tuesday.

They have some pretty fabrics, but the selection is not as vast as at Joann's. This large store is filled with many other things. They have a great selection of picture frames. I'll come here the next time I need one. read more

How did I not know about this place! I'm super crafty - my friends say I am a nicer Martha Stewart and for the middle class! When I moved to Portland years ago from the east coast, the only craft stores I could find were the chains, Michaels and Joanne's. Which are nice. I shop at both, and they have all the standards stuff, but not the fun, unique, "WOW, I have to have this" kind of items. Craft Warehouse does! The minute I walked in, I had to pause, catch my breath, and take it all in. Slowly. I came looking for small blue birds to adorn my new white birch twig Christmas tree. Neither Michaels or Joanne's had them. Michaels had a large white bird for $7.99. Craft Warehouse had packages of 3 medium or 6 small for just $5.99. I put two packages of the medium in my cart and began making my rounds. The Christmas trees and branches, both the traditional faux fir and the new birch twig trees, were far superior in quality and had very fair prices. The stems were on sale for 40% off so I grabbed a few for my outdoor planters. The ribbon selection was small, but the design, style and quality of the ribbon was fabulous. They had a white birch wire ribbon that I have never seen anywhere and it is gorgeous. Coordinates beautifully with all the white birch trees and twigs. They also had a slate gray velvet ribbon that would go with any decor. The Christmas displays were arranged by colors making it so easy to visualize how you could accessorize or make vignettes for your own home. Also made it super easy to find the various items. There was an area decorated in golds and ambers; one in shades of blue; one in whites; and another in whimsical red and light blue. Since my new color scheme is shades of blue, with a white birch twig tree, I spent a lot of time in that area. In addition to the birds, I purchased a stunning set of small mercury glass ornaments that came in three shades of blue and teal, in three different shapes. Probably 3 dozen ornaments in the bag on sale for $19.99 from $26.99. Its not even Thanksgiving yet, but I came home and immediately set up the twig tree and decorated it with the blue clip on birds and mercury glass ornaments! Crazy, I know! But I recently downsized to a condo so decided to just bring the tree right into my living room rather than to my storage unit. Plus I was so excited to see how it would turn out. OMG, It looks stunning! Simple. Minimalist, Elegant. Definitely Pinterest and Instagram worthy! There was so much more to look at and I knew the more I looked, the more I would buy, so I decided this was enough for today. They are having an open house on Saturday, Nov 10th, with lots of special deals, give always and refreshments. On the last Tuesday of the month thy give 20% off your entire purchase between 6-8, which is a great deal, so I will plan my next visit accordingly. I could spend HOURS here. So dangerous. I find that I like to come here for ideas, but I dislike the markup on prices. Thus, I usually buy a few specialty items, but shop for some of the simpler stuff at Lowes, Michael's, or Target. I like that they have lots of examples of projects around; it's really helpful. read more

They sell nice goods, but I've heard some pretty awful things from several people who have worked there, both past and present. It's a real mess behind the scenes, a really toxic work environment. The staff can be two-faced and rude, and apparently, the management is a total disaster. Like... seriously, it's BAD. A whole house of cards, nothing but facades. Worst part is that everyone stays silent about it. After hearing everything I've heard, it's no wonder why their employees quit. You could get lost and spend hours here!i came in looking for a shadow box and other items to see if DIY-ing was a better option than buying something premade- the aisles aren't marked which is a small thing to pick at but it would help. Though the aisles aren't marked, it seems that everything is by sectiom and organized in that way. You can find which section you're looking for without a big problem. I had a question and was passed off to another employee who had some great knowledge and ideas for what I was looking for. The employee also said they could make what I wanted as I pay for the supplies and labor costs. It was an option I didn't even think of, that they do custom work! The store is filled with craft supplies and there are lots of examples of what to make. It its brighter and cleaner then most of the craft stores I have ventured into. The prices seem on the high end though. They have a wide range of stuff and do framing in the back. The day I went there were lots of sales going on. My biggest complaint is the only staff I saw were at the registers in front. So it doesn't seem a good choice if you have questions. read more

....and they now have my framing goddess! So, I had three pieces I needed to get framed and was holding out because Michael's sucks for framing and so do most pro framing places. They charge crazy amounts of money for horrible work. I decided to go into Craft Warehouse with piece numero uno and take a chance when I was met by the wonderful lady who used to work at the Craft Warehouse which shut down in Tanasborne years ago...I almost cried... She is amazing and has a great eye for detail...she genuinely enjoys her job. They have a crazy amount of VERY good quality ready made frames which are always on sale - I am amazed at how great they are. Pro tip - I save a lot of money on framing (which is good because I get many nice pieces from local artists and want those professionally framed so they not only look great but protect the artwork). If you have something which will fit and look good in a standard sizing then find a good prefab frame from them (and again - they always have sales and great prices on great quality ready made frames). Then you have them install - they do not really charge at all for it and so most pieces I get done are like $60-70 which includes the frame, very high quality mating, and they replace all the hardware, paper etc so it looks like a completely custom piece - you just save a lot buying a frame for like $16-25 versus custom $100+. I have low house light and no UV exposure so I do not convert to conservation glass which will run you another $20 but it has lifetime guarantee and if very worth it - they even cover you dropping it!!! I LOVED CW when it was on 185th & super sad when it closed, so I was really excited when I learned of the opening of a location this side of Portland. Looking at the ads, there were some great grand opening deals (colored mason jars for $1 each!). I can't say I was very impressed, though. There was a very minimal selection of ribbon (there was almost a better selection of duct tape!) & there was only 1 foam form & 2 wire for wreath making. The employees chatted with one another more than they interacted with patrons in a new store. And since this store is at a mall, there is no cart return in the parking lot. In fact, the doors are not automated, so good luck maneuvering outside with a full cart I'm sure I'll be back, but it's definitely not the same place it used to be. read more

I absolutely love this place. The staff is much friendlier, and more knowledgeable than the staff at the other 2 large "chain" craft stores. It is much easier to return an item there than I have experienced at other craft stores too. I LOVE LOVE LOVE going to Tuesday night happy hours. WHY? Because they offer GREAT prices that's why. You don't have to do a thing, you just show up during happy hour and get 20% off your ENTIRE purchase. THAT is a good deal. They offer great selections on paints, wood surfaces, and basically anything under the sun that you're looking for. I cannot spend too much time in there because if I do, I would spend every penny I have. The selection is amazing. You can make your house look as good as Joanna Gaines' with all the adorable stuff they have from DIY to Floral, to accessories. Craft Warehouse has it. Two thumbs up! read more

Customer service is clearly not a priority at this store. Being nice is free, and easy. You should try it, it goes a long way. This is over dozens of visits to this store not just one. Went in for the make and takes with 4 kids just after 3 (the make and takes were scheduled to end at 4) only to find out that they had stopped an hour and half earlier... Kids were excited to make earrings and a card to send to their grandma. I hate this place with a passion. I work in Cedar Hills Crossing at an art type store. So how happy were we when Craft Warehouse opened basically next door to make last minute items we might need in a pinch soooo much easier to get?! So happy! But alas, the elation was verrrrry short lived. Besides their ridiculous prices (usually 3x's the cost of anywhere else) their staff is absolutely HORRENDOUS. At first I overlooked the fact that literally no one knows where anything is due to the fact that they were newly opened. But in recent visits I've left so frustrated by their staff, it's ridiculous. Usually they are wandering around doing nothing, but never to be found when you need something - reminds me of Walmart - and once you're lucky enough to track one down who's not pretending to be busy, good luck finding someone who knows where anything in that godforsaken place is. Yesterday I THOUGHT I'd found a good deal on some glow in the dark acrylic paint... It said that brand was $1.44 & it wasn't individually labeled for a different price. Went to pay, it rang up as $3.79... So they had someone go look & lo & behold she said "oh yeah, it was mis-marked on the shelves, its $3.79" sooooo instead of changing the price to what the shelf said, like any other store would do seeing as it was their mistake, I didn't buy the paint because... Over double what it said?! Give me a break. And oh yeah.... This was after I'd wandered around looking for a certain kind of tracing paper for well over 20 minutes - this WITH the help of 4 different staff members who all directed me in different areas of the store - & then, turns out they don't even carry what I was looking for! Also, I called ahead after leaving, because I realized I forgot something & didn't want to brave that hellhole again if I didn't know they had what I needed. On the phone, they said they had it. Walked back over & it's completely the wrong thing -- which I had described in detail on the phone. Worst customer service I have ever experienced!! And these incidents aren't even the only ones I've had there -- just the most recent. I HATE this place soooo much. The staff makes it literally the worst store. I'm pretty sure from now on I'll be wasting my gas & going somewhere else instead of just walking around the corner. read more

I would give them a zero if I could. The most unprofessional staff work at this place. They tell you they are break when you ask for help. In my opinion, if you work in retail, you shouldn't be taking your break in the middle of the store. Maybe this store should offer a break room for their employees. read more

This is such an adorable crafts store, the thing that separates it from Michaels etc is that it has character! There's a lot of personal touches as you walk around. The employees are always super helpful and will drop what their doing to walk you over to a particular aisle or answer any simple question in great detail. They are way too pricey on certain items which is why it isn't 5 stars but I have managed to snag some great deals and it looks like they have a "happy hour tuesday" special!! read more

My first time going and I didn't want to leave. This is better than Michaels because they have everything for crafting! So much more and better items for sure. They have displays of completed project to give you ideas and inspiration. They're organized and tidy, and best of all for this Californian.....no tax! I had been eyeing a book here for about a month before purchasing. I came in to buy a $75 gift card and the book, labeled at 7.99. When I went to purchase I was told it was $17.99. I asked her to please check the price as it had been on the same shelf labeled $7.99 for a month and there were multiple copies. The first employee told me that it was not in the correct location, "and if I had just read the barcode I would know that". As this was quite rude I went back to the checkstand and the checker assured me that I should speak to a manager who she was sure would honor the posted price. If nothing else, maybe a few dollars off or a coupon for my next visit. Well, the manager came, and told me that the book was in the wrong spot and also all the price labels are actually "stocktake labels" and "everyone knows to read the back of the book for pricing". Ummm who doesn't look at the price tag on the shelf for what an item costs and instead searches the item itself? I have no idea who trained these employees and maybe it's just a big company store and no one cares but it was the worst service I have ever received in recent memory. They lost the entire sale over $10 and no effort to make the situation right in any other way. I mean they literally offer coupons ALL the time and didn't even offer me a coupon off a different item. They have now lost my business for good and I will tell anyone I know to go to Michaels instead. I really love Craft Warehouse and have been coming here since I moved to Oregon- they have great selection and a much better atmosphere than comparable stores like Michael's. I had a particularly great experience today with a staff in framing, Katie, who helped me immensely with a project I needed to frame (something I know nothing about!). She took the time to help me select frames and mattes, playing around with many different options until we found one that I loved. She also took care to try to find me discounts/sales where she could and work with my limited budget. Store and staff are wonderful! read more

so i do not recommend this store. i was treated with disrespect and complete rudeness by the store manager even tho i spent $375 this visit alone. when i tried confronting her she started yell that she wasnt talking to me. even the lady that checked me out apologized for her managers behavior. she was very nice gaveme a lot of good information about the silhouette cameo 3 machine, whoch i purchased and am now taking back because of the way i was treated. so i recommend going to Blick or Michael's, if you must go to craft Warehouse, go the Gresham location. its worth the drive. read more

I really love this place! My friend kept telling me I had to go here, and then ended up taking me herself. She explained it as if "Michael's and Joann's had a baby". And I think that's pretty accurate. You're not going to find a ton of bargain prices here, but I found some great deals and felt the majority of items were fairly priced. The best thing about this place is the details! You walk through every isle and there are examples of crafts you can do with the items in that isle. I found some great ideas because of this. Super cool sewing kits located underneath the finished product so you could make what you see. They also have things out of the package for you to touch, feel, etc. Even the check out line had 20 flavors of candy to try before you buy. A nice employee handed us an invitation to an upcoming event which sounds very nice. It was just a very nice, large, and customer friendly place full of crafts. read more

Very impressed with this store. They have a lot of unique and different items than regular craft stores, but they also have a very wide selection of anything you could think of. They have ideas for projects on display with the exact items you need to make that project right under it. This store is very organized, clean, and really just very pretty. Having been to Michael's and Jo-Ann's numerous times, I was expecting this store be disorganized, cluttered, and have a rather uncomfortable environment, but at Craft Warehouse that is definitely not the case. You can spend hours just looking at all of the cool stuff they have. There's a lot of room to explore and it's fairly easy to find what you're looking for. It would be nice to have more Craft Warehouses around like this. read more

This store, while having a truly affordable framing department fails to carry the savings throughout the store. I'm not sure why I actually stop here and don't just keep on my way to Michaels.... I end up going there anyway. While they have some very cute and creative things going on here, it is just way too expensive. The staff seems friendly enough and the store is clean, but so is Michael's.... and it's cheaper... and they have coupons... all the time. read more
