Went there Sunday and waited a few minutes to get seated and ordered immediately, left one hour later without the food arriving. At some point, couldn't wait any longer being held hostage and suspected the food would reflect the service. Said goodbye to the waitress and manager did not care enough to even speak. First, I want to express that our waitress was great, she was attentive and friendly. My chair was sticky, possibly from syrup, and we needed something light (party of 2), so we both ordered a fried chicken salad. The cucumber was not fresh, the fried chicken was super salty. I love salt, but it was too salty for me to finish. I was surprised at how bad the salad was. I've eaten at so many Cracker Barrel's and have never gotten a bad salad from them! The egg was good, the cornbread was great. I was asked how everything was and I told our waitress about the chicken being over-salted, to the point of ruination. Ordinarily, if there is any kind of problem with the food, a manager will come to you and apologize and maybe offer something. Nothing like that happened, so I just suggested she let the cook know about the chicken. We do not live nearby, just traveling through. I'm just grateful most Cracker Barrel's have consistent food quality & amends if a mistake is made, making this experience stand out in an unpleasant way. read more

Took 15 minutes...in a half-empty restaurant...to get a server to stop, and only because I finally stopped one. And it's only gone downhill from there. Lots of half-hearted apologies but no change in service. All the tables around us currently experiencing the same. We're all commiserating. There's not visible excuse for this. I came here for brunch with my mom. Our server, Yasmin, was less than satisfactory. I'm not sure if she was having a rough day or just frazzled but it definitely affected our experience. She seemed to do fine with a table next to us that might have been her friends as she promptly brought them what they needed and continued to check in with them. However, with us, she forgot parts of our meals, she did not check in and I often had to wait 10+ minutes to ask for condiments or water, and she was not very personable. I try not to leave negative reviews and specifically not calling out particular people but this was definitely an experience I regret having. We love Cracker Barrel but this experience certainly tainted my thoughts of going back to this one. Not to mention the meal was subpar. I paid separately for a side of fries and received exactly 4 fries. That's almost $1 per fry which is ridiculous. On a more positive note, the chicken tenders were good. The hashbrown casserole is always wonderful. I'll leave it at this, I hope they are able to fix some of the issues and improve the experience for future customers. So I checked your web site to make sure the you were selling the whole pies for the holiday season and the web site said they would be on sale from 11/28 to 12/28 so I stoped at your store in springhill and asked the hostess where the pies were. No visit from manager or apology which either means they do not Care or this happens so frequently, it's a non-event. My guess is due to the lack of response from the store, it is the latter. Terrific food, and the staff was STELLAR! We came in with only 13 minutes to close and staff already cleaned and reset, but they were SO gracious and seated us and fed us well!! Still not good. We stopped going to CB because the food was cold or something was always wrong with our food. The sweet potato was not fully cooked or we got a thin piece of leather steak. We went to Cracker Barrel in Spring Hill tonight for the campfire meals and a Friday Fish. We were provided biscuits and cornbread as we waited. The cornbread was really good and the biscuits reminded us of our childhood days. Campfire meals - one beef and one chicken were very good/tasty. Fish meal was also good. We had Aldo who took exceptional care of us. The assistant general manager came by because of the wait time on one of the campfire meals but we were in no hurry and it was worth the wait and Aldo continued checking on us. Absolutely terrible all the way around. My husband and I normally go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast but had heard they have good fried chicken so decided to try them for a late lunch. It was 2:00 and really not many people there, it took the seater at least 15 minutes to seat us and that was because he was busy talking to other employees then just disappeared for a while? (we were the only ones waiting) Walking to our seats the floor was beyond soiled with dropped food, sat us at a table right across from a table that had been cleaned but on the floor had at least 50 pieces of food, we asked our waitress if she could clean it up because we felt we were eating in a pig trough, well she was not happy to clean it up as the lady that was supposed to be doing it was just standing there doing nothing, but she did all the while waiving the broom all over the place and kicking up who knows what all over us and our table. Should had walked out then... Well it took 45 minutes to get us our food and then forgot 2 of our sides, which then took 5 more minutes to get, when the fries came out, my husband just sent them back, they were laying in a pile of grease. Food Review: Gross *Fried chicken - Cooked in at least week old grease, more greasy dark bread than chicken, not bone in either? *Catfish - Cooked in at least week old grease, more like fish jerkey it was so dry *Biscuits and Gravy - Came out "after" our food? Truly terrible... I tried to go back one more time, and they sat us at a dirty table. We walked by another party of 8 that was complaining to the manager about how terrible their experience was. Then we asked for a new clean table and the manager said we were free to go pick another one instead of offering to show us a table or apologizing. Saturday my family decided to have a late lunch here. They were not crowded so we sat down quickly. Now the foreshadowing of the rest of the meal begins... the young server knocked over the glass chimney to the oil lamp on the table. Broken glass was all of the floor. My brother offered to sweep it up to speed things up so he could take the order. Waited & waited. It was over an hour before our food arrived. We love Cracker Barrel and frequently meet family for lunch or dinner. We met in Spring Hill today. Burnt sourdough bread, overcooked shrimp, half-sized portions. We've been here for almost two hours now and we've all eaten our meals but our brother is still waiting for his chicken to be served. We ordered some food to go but we didn't get it - at least they didn't charge us for that. The manager stood outside of the kitchen in the dining room but never stopped by any tables to check on anyone. We asked to speak to the manager when we were paying for our meal and they called to the back to ask for someone to come and talk to us. We waited but he didn't come. We finally left. One does not come to Cracker Barrel expecting the most amazing meal ever. You go there when you want a breakfast full of comfort food but you do not want to cook it yourself. Today was like walking into a completely different restaurant. I got my favorite side, hash brown casserole. It has been ruined. Apparently they made a change from frozen potatoes to dehydrated potatoes due to "supply chain issues." As you'd expect the casserole now has a chalky texture to it and the cheese gets lost in the potatoes. Your food is now served to you on plastic plates. Grandma wouldn't have been caught dead giving me breakfast on plastic. The biscuits haven't changed (though they seem skimpy on the gravy now) and the pancakes are still good although they weren't as crispy around the edges as I prefer. The cost of some meals have increased by 50¢. A silver lining: Our server Elizabeth was fantastic. Helpful, cheery and prompt. We have always been satisfied with the service until today. we were there around 5Pm on a Sunday. It was not busy at all.. First it took forever to order. Next, We were not served our Drink wile we waited for our food. We asked for cream for our Coffee whch he forgot to bring and brought much later. We didn't get any Silverware and had to wait on that. when we finally got some, There was no knife to cut up our steak. We have had a string of poor experiences at this Cracker Barrel location but tonight takes the cake. We were seated almost immediately and the proceeded to watch other tables being filled, two of which were were right next to us and served by a waiter, while he walked right past us. We have 3 young children and bedtime waits for no one, they were getting cranky and antsy, and no one even took our drink order. We ended up sitting almost 30 minutes with zero attention before we decided to walk out. We have been visiting this Cracker Barrel location for 5 years but after tonight, we will be driving 20 minutes north to the south Franklin location where we have experienced good service. read more
