This was a fabulous stop in more ways than one. We arrived late, having gotten tied up in Columbia traffic as we're heading west through Atlanta. Rather than try getting through the city and driving too much after dark, we opted to stop here for the night. "For the night?" you might ask? Yes, Cracker Barrel allows RVers to use their parking area for overnight parking with the polite request that if you're having a meal, you do so with them. In the morning, we slept late and decided that yes, some French Toast here before heading into Atlanta would be a good idea. We were through the door just after they opened at 7am and were immediately seated. Our food order did not take long at all. French Toast for Mrs. K. Biscuits and gravy and two basted eggs for me with sausage patties. Delicious, filling and no, not keto compliant but I'm on vacation. I'll start off by saying that we love Cracker Barrel and eat the one near us regularly. Usually they are pretty consistent. We ate at this location during a trip and it was pretty disappointing. Took quite a while to get our food, but I could've lived with that had the food not been so questionable. I was served "scrambled eggs" in a configuration I have never before encountered in my life. I can only describe them as a fried egg that was stirred around a little bit while cooking. I'm not even sure how you get hired to cook at a Cracker Barrel if that's what you think scrambled eggs are. Then, I found a hair in my fried apples. My husband said his hash brown casserole tasted strange and left a strange taste in his mouth. This is a must visit for our family whenever we are on a roadtrip. The food was great, great service and our kids love the store and we even got some nice food things from the store. If you want your food fast on your travel this is not the place, but if you want a leisurely break from your drive this is the place. A typical time spent from food order to getting out often the store would at least take 30-40 minutes. So keep in mind when you are visiting. read more

ordered delivery yesterday evening and food was still warm but tasted somewhat off. I now have food poisoning.

We arrived about 8:30 on our travels from one city to another; Cracker Barrel used to be a travel destination oasis. This Cracker Barrel closes at 9:00 on a Saturday Night, but they may as well shut the door at 8:00. I ordered the pot roast, but they were out. My wife ordered something else and they were out of that as well. While we were there, they were shutting down the restaurant and it gave us a sense of being rushed. We ordered more rolls, they were out. The wait staff was excellent and it was not them making the management decisions that led to shortages. Cracker Barrel needs to go back to putting stars on the aprons of their wait staff. read more

They apparently had Starbucks ordered for the staff. One server dropped hers while walking to her hostess stand. She was in tears, and very uncomfortable. The manager goes "that's why we don't carry our drinks on the floor" while holding hers. Offered no help. Even my 10 year old son noticed how crappy she was to her staff. The waitress (supposedly an employee for 3 years) did not demonstrate the competence level one would expect. We come to this area at least a few times a year for competitions. We eat at this Cracker Barrel each time but we will not be coming back. There is ample parking even for large vehicles and RV's. We were greeted quickly and seated. We were only given lunch/dinner menus not breakfast as well. We usually order dinner and breakfast for the next day since we miss our hotels breakfast due to early call times. The store was pretty well kept and clean. The bathrooms were clean. The dining area could use some cleaning from the decor to the floors and tables. We ordered waters, grilled chicken dinner, grilled chicken salad, and two kids shrimps with fries. One of the kids shrimps was not brought out with the rest of the food after waiting over 20 minutes for our food. It seems our waitress "forgot" to place one of the kids shrimp orders. All the food was cold upon arrival. The biscuits were very small. We asked for apple butter and had to ask again for some. Once it arrived it was watery and tasted horribly. We then placed an order for breakfast to go. We ordered kids cereal pancakes but received confetti instead. We also ordered an egg sandwich with impossible sausage alas I was not asked which cheese I wanted. I ordered a fruit cup which was forgotten and we had to ask for it to be provided. This was one and my family's first time in a cracker barrel and it was a very disappointing experience. unfortunately our waitress (morgan) was the main cause. right off the bat it took 15 to just get our drinks!. She never came around to give us refills and other workers had to pick up the slack. after waiting 40-50 minutes we asked for the manager and he apologized and brought out our food. We only got our food after we reported the horrible service. Even after we got our food our waitress never came around and when she did she wouldn't speak. Cracker Barrels are usually decent places to eat, close to freeways, if you want an alternative to a drive thru. They have bathrooms in front. Service is pretty fast. And they'll offer you a to go cup for your soda. This particular location had below average food for a Cracker Barrel. I ordered the hamburger steak, and it tasted... off. Bland and with a freezer burn taste. The hashbrown casserole tasted like the milk was off. The turnip greens had really dry and stringy meat. My kids had similar issues with the food they ordered. On the other hand, my husband was happy with his meal. I would never eat at a Cracker Barrel if I wasn't on a road trip. And I wouldn't recommend this particular location. read more

A nice enjoyable experience here at this location. The quality of the food was not thrown together quickly like a lot of Cracker Barrel's. Food was served very hot and nice HOT coffee. Sweet tea was perfect. Service was great. Hostesses were kind and so was our server. It did take some time to get our beverages but to be expected on a holiday - crowded and understaffed for the day. We stopped at the Madison, GA Cracker Barrel in January 2025 and the waitress brought us honey for the biscuits that we did not order. After a few minutes my husband noticed ants on the table. The honey bottle was covered in ants. I think that says it all. read more

Food is good at this location. I have eaten here about 10 times and this is the worst total experience. Like I said food was good, took 10 minutes after seated for our waitress to approach us and take our order. Once order was taken it took 20 minutes to get our food and the order was incomplete. I ordered a side of bacon I never got and my order came with a Biscuit that never arrived. Two tables seated before us received their food after we did. Price was reasonable!! I usually only eat Cracker Barrel when my family goes on road-trips so I was pretty excited to stop here. I would have rather stopped at a McDonalds drive through. Wait staff made us feel like we were bothering them when we asked for help. After 40 minutes of waiting on food our order was completely wrong and lukewarm at best. We couldn't afford waiting anymore for them to correct it so we just ate and left. Also, I ran out of coffee and couldn't get a refill to save my life. 10/10 keep driving. read more

STRUGGLE BUS at this Cracker Barrel! Flew into Atlanta airport pretty early and then had to drive to Augusta. We were pretty tired and hungry after being awake for so long and decided to stop in for some breakfast. Not a good choice. There was no line inside and plenty of empty tables but we were told there would be a wait as they were pretty short staffed. I should have just left then and gone to the next Cracker Barrel on our route but was too tired to argue. Basically, a train wreck the whole time. Took a long time to be seated, a long time to be greeted, a longer time for drinks, and even longer for our food. I was so exhausted by all the waiting and poor service that I wanted to just nap on the table. Please hire some more people!! read more

I have a real soft spot for Cracker Barrel. Generally, we only visit their stores when we are on a road trip and, almost always, we thoroughly enjoy those visits. This one is a nice store, typically decorated with antique Americana and with a wonderful log fire burning in the grate. That alone, when the temperature drops, is an endearing thing. The service was typically good. The seating was also the same as every other Cracker Barrel and there was parking aplenty. So, to the food. My wife had chicken dumplings which she said were nice, I had a plate of mixed veggies which consisted on beans, greens, mashed potato and cabbage. On top of that came iced teas for her and a coffee for me. It was what I expected and was quite good. Nothing stands out about this location. It is Cracker Barrel. It is what it is. The service is always good, the food always fair, the locations always convenient and the décor always great. It's the sort of place which, in my view, was made for road trips through the Southern US...and I fully recommend the chain, and the restaurant at Madison GA. read more

Great food! We haven't had great experiences with other Cracker Barrels when it came to food. They were out of what my husband originally came in for however he was able to find something else he liked. I had the vegetable plate and it was good, the portions were not what I accepted. The service was alittle slow however the manager did come to a few of the tables, including ours and did let us know they were short staffed cooks, so we understood why the service was lacking in promptness. Our server did disappear toward the last 15-20 minutes of our meal, when she was just standing at the kitchen entrance however overall the food was good and we happy with the gift shop even took some goodies home for the kids. Excellent cashier that was there, can't remember her name, we were there Friday March 26 around 530-730, she did a great job up selling a product to us. She wasn't pushy or aggressive. She saw we had a small item of the same product and they had a bigger rate version. She told us about it and we ended buying both. Over all we had a good experience. read more

Don't worry about stopping here....service is lack luster, food takes forever to come to table and the place is filthy. We were hungry and stopped by for a "quick" bite on our way home from a week-long trip out of state. My boyfriend ordered a breakfast and I ordered the chicken BLT with a cup of soup....all of the food was cold and over cooked - the chicken breast was freezer burned and so tough that I couldn't bite into it - had to deconstruct the sandwich and eat some of the bacon, lettuce and tomato with a fork....cup of soup as forgotten....asked for it and it came 5 minutes later - watered down and not even warm......boyfriend's breakfast was cold - eggs looked as though they sat for a while on plate - only thing going for lunch he dinner was the biscuits - we devoured the three biscuits without any silverware - spread butter with a straw! read more

One thing for certain, is that when you go to one Cracker Barrel, you've gone to most of them all. The service is always excellent, fairly priced and the food is good. Not great, but good. First you pass through a sea of country decor, clothes, foods and housewares. Then you meet the hostess, who will seat you. Your waitress/waiter will take your order and deliver it in a timely manner. They will check on you if anything else is needed, once. I have occasionally had slower service, or wait listed for a table. But that is more the exception than the rule. For the traveller, it's not fine dining but it is good food, and is consistent. We go to Cracker Barrels again and again. read more

OMG...5 STARS for Cracker Barrel! Sooooo, I am thinking, "Where shall I dine tonight?" We, as a family, have had sushi, Italian, fancy schmancy dining, I think I am in the mood for down home southern cooking--and my mommy doesn't cook, so what to do, what to do? Yep, Cracker Barrel. We jumped in the family car and headed to the Cracker Barrel nearest to where we were at the time. We parked pretty easily, and then walked to the entrance. There were rocking chairs all over the patio area with plenty of people chilaxxin--even a few nasty smokers--okay, it's not Cali, I get it. We walked into the entrance and there is a HUGE "General Store" type thing going on in there. My mommy said, "Let's eat Stephani Lea and then we can come back and shop." Okay ;( We are greeted in typical southern manner--"Hey y'all, how many?" My family and I entered the restaurant and were led to a comfortable table near a warm and cozy fire place. There were little games on the tables with tiny pegs--I played until the food came. The waitress, Haylee, was incredible! She probably is not more than 18 years old, but really understands "hospitality" to the core. LOVED HER!!! Haylee made sure we had everything we wanted, from sweet tea refills, to more butter, to more cornbread muffins, to extra gravy for the dumplings...ON POINT! I ordered the fried catfish, with fried okra and mac n cheese and also added some dumplings...yep, call me FATTIE! I also had plenty of sweet tea to wash down the southern food. I guess you truly do only live once, so why not fill your temple with cholesterol, fat, complex carbs, etc...I never do this, so it kinda feels good ;) I really love Cracker Barrel. I wish we had these in the Bay Area, but people are too healthy for a concept like this to actually "make it" there. We even visited the "Country Store" after the meal. I bought a little gift for my friend at home and some Xmas stuff that was cheap by now. The service we received from Haylee was comparable to fine dining as far as her constant check backs, pre-bussing, hospitality, up-selling, concern for the guests, etc. Cracker Barrel--if you don't know what you have in this super star employee you are missing the mark--we LOVED Haylee. She made my Dirty South visit ultra "Dirty South," if you know what that means... Still catching up on my Thanksgiving reviews....thank you for being patient. Country Cooking I love Cracker Barrel more for nostalgia sake than anything else - maybe it is because we do not have them in the New York City area; not sure. The good thing about this chain is that the food is solid - this is definitely not gourmet stuff but solid and filling fare. This Cracker Barrel was fairly empty when we blew in on our way over to Augusta - we were hungry and in need of some liquids to rehydrate so this was the perfect pit-stop for us. Since we were having a fairly large and elaborate dinner later in the day I didn't want to get crazy with heavy southern fried anything- so I just went with a salad. My buddy, on the other hand, scarfed down a plate of chicken and dumplings like he just got out of a concentration camp - the boy was hungry I guess. The food was fine- the biscuits were salty as all get out, but other than that, not issues. Waitress was great and we were energized and on our way in short order. I have repeatedly received expired/rancid food from this location. Usually it is the pinto beans, but tonight there was rancid grease or meat in the pinto beans, carrots and the cornbread. I could not eat any of it! . They would not answer the phone to place a to go order. I called four times. When I got there they were not that busy/2 people checking out. They comped my order a dessert and then they screwed that up too and I wound up waiting an hour for everything to be done and undone after having spent 30 minutes trying to call in an order that could've been ready when I got there! Bad management and intentionally serving bad food because I have reported x2 b4! They have served me expired/rancid pinto beans at least two other times in the last two years and they just continue to leave it in the warmer, I assume for days on end. This time the carrots were even spoiled. How the hell do you let a carrot go bad? Needs new management desperately! The manager there seemed to be working in the back maybe cooking ;she seemed exasperated when she had to come and try and sort out the mess that was made out of what was supposed to have been my free dessert that wound up costing me another 30 minutes for them to remove charges for!!!!! Totally p.o.Ed! Someone needs to report this to the health department as unsafe food. My immune system is compromised and I spent all day in a hospital getting supplemental gammaglobulin IV and was trying to come home and not cook after all day in the hospital. All the food was very good- chicken and broccoli casserole, veggies, pancakes of course. Caitlin was a very nice and attentive server. Love the store, hate the restaurant......Was driving home to Jacksonville from Athens.....NOTHING on the road for 50 miles (Was looking for a Panera type place)...even though we didn't like the food at the last Cracker Barrel, thought we'd give it another try.....Wife and I both waited 1/2 hour for our forgettable breakfasts...my country friend steak was burnt and blah, grits were cold, just not good in any way....vowed (a 2nd time) we'd never go back....
