The food was good, small portions though. The service was very slow, although we went on a Saturday morning and it was very busy. We waited 25 minutes to get a table. We were seated outside and there were a ton of flies and also lots of people that were waiting on tables standing very close to our table. The store inside had lots of fun things to look at & purchase as well as lots of throw back candies.

Cracker Barrel is home for classic soul warming dishes- the biscuits are pretty good, as well as the chicken...oh and don't forget the turkey and sides. Food is good and consistent. Also consistent is the long wait time to be seated and then served. And that is why I only gave it three stars.

I have never been here for breakfast so as a recommendation I decided to try. Hot dog! was I pleasantly surprised. The pancakes were the best I've ever had. Soft and buttery while slightly crispy. They were incredibly flavorful. My plate came with steak and eggs and hashbrown casserole and biscuits n gravy. The eggs were scramble and cheesy and the hashbrown casserole was so creamy and scrumptious. I ordered my steak medium well but they brought me a well done dry steak. Hence the 4 starts only. They also ran out of biscuits so it was a bit of a way before they rolled out. We were done with our meal by the time they made an appearance on our plate. The biscuits, while fresh out the oven were a bit dry too. Bummer. I was there on a Monday at 10 and it was a 25 minute wait. Crazy it would be full on a weekday. The coffee was delicious and the service was on point. The pancakes alone though... chefs kiss.

The host was a bit grumpy. That was ok. The waitress mad up for that with her joyful and caring disposition. The food is exactly what you would expect from this comfort food meca. It was filling and the portions were substantial. The chicken was a bit to salty for my taste but that not to say that someone wouldn't enjoy it. The cat fish was more to my liking. It had good flavor and the batter was crisp not soggy. Mac and cheese, mash potato's were standard fare both good but nothing extra to say about them. The true star of this dinning experience was the biscuits and cornbread. Hands down really good stuff. As you can tell my the empty-ish basket. This was our second serving lol. If you are looking for a good nap after a meal, this comfort food establishment will do just that. It fills the belly and makes the rest of the day impossible to get thru without one. Finally. The noise level was a bit too loud and it made it someone difficult to have a conversation with my folks. They are older and hearing impaired which made it challenging to say the least. Overall the experience was enjoyable enough that a may eat here again when visiting El Paso.

I finally went to a Cracker Barrel and it was delicious! I've just never been close to one in California and even though I now live close by to the Westside one, I just never thought to go. I was also invited to the soft opening for the Black Bear diner and wanted to compare. However, I was stuck in Austin so I can only review the Cracker Barrel. I was given an opportunity to go to the soft opening on the Eastside and so I invited my friends... And can you believe they turned me down because they said it was for old people?? Well that made me really nervous but I wanted to go anyway and form my own opinion. I'm glad that I went because I did not realize that there was a store with all these amazing goods and gifts as well as really good food. So for this soft opening, we were able to order one shared appetizer, one drink (non alcoholic), one entree, and one shared dessert. I had a reservation for 4 people but only one showed up. The menu was actually really extensive and there were several meals that were really good value, I can see where the "old people" comment came from since seniors are usually on tight budgets, but honestly, nowadays, aren't we all? The service was nice and attentive as they had trainers from all parts of the country fly in to help. My server was very sweet and actually gave me a little extra drink because I wanted coffee and I wanted a sweet tea. The registers weren't operational yet, so we couldn't really order anything else even if we wanted to pay for it. For my appetizer I got the beignets and they're really good, especially with that maple syrup dipping sauce. I also wanted to try the fried pickles but I can only get one. The serving size looked really small, but as you ate you realize that it was a lot of food, since it's basically fried dough. For my main entree I got the Chicken fried steak and my friend got the meatloaf. Wow. That meatloaf was a revelation, I didn't realize that meat could taste so airy and light. I mean the damn thing jiggled! They said it's because they include a lot of vegetables and bread crumbs and eggs, so it's not just a thick hamburger like loaf. Chicken fried steak was really good; not too greasy. Even the gravy was good with different ones on the chicken fried steak, which was white and peppery and the brown gravy on the mashed potatoes was rich and more savoury. I didn't get to try dessert because I was out of there but I was told that the Coca-Cola chocolate cake was amazing. I really want to go back and just explore the menu, this location was really big and parking was a cinch. I highly recommend it if you're in Eastlake area, especially for large family gatherings where you want to have a little something for everyone but don't want to break the bank. *Hint- graduation meals* Cracker Barrel Old Country Store (915) 519-4400 13381 Gateway Blvd W, El Paso, TX 79928 https://maps.app.goo.gl/hKMGGGz7trpwRLMW7

So my wife and I have frequented this restaurant before and the first time we went out had just opened So I didn't think to much about the slow wait time but this time one would think service would be better. We arrived at about 12:30 for lunch, and it wasn't crazy packed as we were seated, and there were empty tables all around. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time, and it took about 10-15 minutes for half our drink order to be served and another 10 minutes for our water. Then I kid you not it took about 20 minutes for our order to show up and we had ordered an appetizer but it came with our meals. Needless to say, the cheese curls were cold, so we took them home as treats for our pups. My wife ordered the roast beef, and she said it was ehhh but she liked her sides. I ordered the Chicken Fried Turkey, which actually was good, but hardly had any gravy on it, and they forgot to bring my cranberry with it. The loaded Hashbrown casserole was Luke warm at best, and the only good thing was the apples. It took forever to get drink refills. Considering it wasn't packed, service was terrible, and food quality was nothing to write home about. At least the store front looked nice and decked out for Christmas.

Attended their pre-grand opening and it did not disappoint! Food, service, atmosphere were great! Can't wait for Monday to purchase some goodies

This was my first time at Cracker Barrel and it was a pretty bad experience. Our waitress first told us that it was her first time ever on the job with Cracker Barrel job so we have to bare with her. She was not experienced much at attentiveness or remembering our orders even with a tablet. Additionally, the food I ordered was the chicken and dumplings and it came to the table very very cold. When I addressed my concern the server took my plate and brought me the same meal but from what it seemed like was that it was microwaved. It was not her fault but the chicken and dumplings was not good AT ALL... there was no flavor what so ever to the chicken and dumplings. My meal was meant to come with either a biscuit or corn bread... well she forgot and I just had to settle for a biscuit. It was kind of sad that we also had to keep flagging someone for drink refills. Once it was time to pay.... The server brings you a paper copy of your bill to pay at the register where everyone purchases merchandise at the Cracker Barrel store. The line is so long so you have to wait in line with other customers buying merchandise versus just having to pay at the table. This was by far the most unorganized method of paying for your food. The food is definitely not worth coming back for nor the chaos of the whole entire experience. At this time I do not recommend coming back. The pics speak for themselves.

We just moved here 2 days ago, and its about to be my son's birthday. We didn't have the luxury to prepare food of our own so we came here. Our server "LUIS" was super duper friendly and was nice to have around. He made my son feel special by going above and beyond to ensure he got everything he needs.

I ordered the Santa Fe chicken skillet with two eggs over easy with green sauce and wheat toast, with coffee. It's my all time favorite. My family and I chose this place after grandpa's funeral service. They were courteous and efficient, as we were a large party. We made special family moments that evening. I'm sure they do amazing service with smaller groups. Menu has food for breakfast lunch and dinner. It's meant to satisfy all bellies. That's why we all agreed to this place. Plenty of parking. Enjoy!

Who wants to make a bet that this restaurant will close soon?…read more Here is why.... My visit was terrible. Customer service was SLOW, no one was at the host stand when we arrived and the food took about 30-45 min to arrive. Most of my family just ordered pie. Literally waited a good 30 minutes for pie. To make matters worse drinks took equally as long. Refills? Nope, we didn't get them and we had to get up to get help at one point, that was to simply pay our bill. Butter Smith Kitchen & Pies is similar to Village Inn but with the ability to buy alcohol. Patrons visiting during my visit were not drinking alcohol. The service seriously lacks and I'm going to say that with as much restaurant competition little old El Paso has, this place will have to revamp their staff, learn customer service, and simply just care to stay competitive and remain open. The worst part for a restaurant is having people who do not care. With only 2 other tables and plenty of staff, the service was a disappointment. You have one shot, and for me, this was a miss! Would never return. The food wasn't great so nothing worth returning for.

I saw some pictures of a new brunch place in the Far East off Zaragoza, and it looked good. It's hidden in the back next to Sky Zone and across the street from Oasis Lanes, so finding it was a little hard. When I walked in I didn't realize it was so small because I had convinced some of the girls to come to try it out with me from the Peachlab workouts. They wanted to come out to celebrate Nurse B's birthday as well as mine because that's the type of supportive community they are, but most are vegan, so I try to find places that have vegan food alongside others so that we can dine together as a group. When I saw that Boca Brava had vegan tacos on the menu, I was really excited. What I didn't know was that on Sundays they only have a Sunday Brunch menu and it doesn't have the regular items. The vegan tacos $3 each consisted of mushrooms, bell peppers, and onions (grilled and pickled), my friends enjoyed it with a variety of salsas. Luckily for us, our waitress was amazing and she got the staff to make us some vegan tacos. They were beyond accommodating and I appreciate that. Because they obviously were in a rush to make items that weren't on the menu that day, the tacos didn't come out perfectly and they're willing to redo it and also not charge us for it. My breakfast plate of 2 eggs, hashbrowns, one bacon slice, and 3 corn pancakes (with slightly spicy maple syrup) was $15. Mimosas were $3. My hashbrowns were really greasy, but the over-easy eggs and crispy bacon were cooked perfectly. The best part was the corn pancakes, I don't think I've had a lighter pancake but with substance. It wasn't doughy which is usually why I avoid pancakes, but crispy and light, probably because of the cornmeal. It was delicious. My other friend ordered chilaquiles and said that it was delicious and not mushy. We also ended up getting 2 free chocolate cakes because they overheard us saying that it was our birthday. Our waitress even took our picture, but I got cropped out, lol, my bad I didn't check the pictures until I got home. For a new place willing to admit they can be better and put the customers first, I really think they'll do well. It's refreshing and it'll bring back repeat customers. If I lived in the far East this would be one of my regular places. Boca brava (915) 219-8700 1691 N Zaragoza Rd STE 5, El Paso, TX 79936 https://maps.app.goo.gl/exW9sS3pcPrAvNzZ6
