The last time we visited this Cracker Barrel, about six months ago, it took an hour to get our food. We decided to give it another chance, and unfortunately it was even worse this time. We came in after church for lunch with family. Our waitress immediately told us she was new and asked us not to be too hard on her. She was actually wonderful, very sweet, attentive, and apologized multiple times for the delay even though it clearly wasn't her fault. After waiting over an hour and fifteen minutes for our food, a manager finally came to our table. We were informed that our order had been entered but never made it to the kitchen. Meanwhile, two tables that arrived about 30 minutes after us had already received their meals and were nearly finished eating. The manager's response was essentially to ask if we wanted our order moved to the front of the line. There was little apology, no real accountability, and the interaction came across as rude and dismissive. We had not complained once during the entire wait and were patient until management finally acknowledged us. The only bright spot was our waitress, who handled a bad situation with professionalism and kindness. Unfortunately, the restaurant itself appears to be poorly managed. Two visits, six months apart, with unacceptable wait times and no meaningful effort to make things right. Piss-poor management and another extremely disappointing experience. We will never be back. It's not what it use to be. We had one waitress for about 10-12tables, food was bland, hash brown casserole was hard, etc.

When we first got there, no one was in line, yet we had to wait an extraordinarily long time to get a table. The table was sticky, and I had to ask my waitress to clean it again, it was nasty, looked as though a messy baby had been eating there. They refused to move us to another table. My husband had the chicken fried steak, corn and mashed potatoes. I had the grilled chicken and carrots. His food arrived and he politely waited for me to be served; his whole plate was cold by the time my food arrived. My food was adequate, nothing special. I did not get the opportunity to tell my server because she did not check on us after she brought it. When she brought the check it was obvious my dinner was untouched. She didn't address it. Disappointed with Curbside Pickup I ordered a veggie plate with pinto beans, greens, and mac & cheese for curbside pickup. Unfortunately, everything was tossed into one container, so now the juice from the beans and greens has soaked into the mac & cheese. Really disappointing. Each visit is a bit more disappointing than the last. The only thing not decreasing are the prices in the country store. Menu selections are half of what they used to be. Portion sizes keep shrinking. Food quality is just okay. The servers are too busy to give excellent customer service so they forget things. They charge for condiments like apple butter. Got the Home Style Grilled chicken salad. The chicken was great! But the lettuce?? Ugh. It's literally like they went to the dumpster to get lettuce that they threw out. Recently ordered take out and some food was terrible. I was very disappointed. The meatloaf was badly burned and the corn muffins were burned. I don't mean slightly burned, I mean burned black. The muffins were turned upside so that you wouldn't notice how bad the were burned they were but even the upside was badly burned the meatloaf was burned, the fries were cold and hard. After waiting over an hour our food finally arrived, but we still had no silverware with which to eat the food. The food minus several sides arrived luke warm and then we sat for 10 minutes waiting on silverware in the cold dining room. Our server took 10 minutes just to get our drink order. It wasn't busy or even steady. It was slow and she only had one other table. She then drops our butter on the floor and proceeds to serve it on top of our biscuits. We didn't notice until another guest was nice enough to complain about it to another server and let us know. We were never checked up on when we ate for refills or anything at all. By the time we finish eating it's hitting closing time. We are waiting on the check, I stand up to see if we can grab it and get out of their way when someone from the back comes and looks at us and says "oh they're leaving anyways" which came off as kind of rude and unprofessional. Worst Cracker Barrel I've ever eaten at. I ordered chicken and dumplings and was served a mystery lump that didn't even resemble chicken and dumplings. The manager was unapologetic as the food was messed up at three surrounding tables as well. Do not eat here unless you are trying to not eat. If you want good home cooking, this is a great place to start. Getting to the restaurant is a bit tricky as there is not really direct access. It feels like the elusive end of the rainbow trying to get there but you will figure it out eventually. The restaurant is always clean and the restrooms are immaculate. I really enjoy the gift shop but I would encourage you to look at the discounted area as the regular prices are higher end. I do enjoy that you can find some novelty candies that are not available in normal stores. And the buckeyes are awesome! Ordered curbside online and checked in ten minutes early per instructions. 45 minutes after I was supposed to get my order, and almost an hour after I checked in, I called the store asking what the wait was. Less than five minutes later they brought my food out to the wrong car and I had to flag down the employee. No apology or even an acknowledgment of my wait occurred. The attendant and register personnel were pleasant. Our telephone order was taken properly. Unfortunately the quality of the product as well as the value we're both very lacking. Fried okra should be a staple in something which is easy to get perfect. This was not the case. The fried okra tasted like it had been sitting in a warmer all afternoon. Nothing fresh here. It was also exceedingly salty. The chicken and dumplings were exactly as described in the title. Chicken and big lumpy thick noodles that they called dumplings. No flavor and a minimal amount of some kind of cream sauce did not add anything. Nothing else. There is no way I would ever be enticed to order this again. Even the cornbread was dry. These are staple products for Cracker Barrel. Strictly bread and butter type of foods. How on earth could you possibly have gone so wrong? The only reason you get two stars is because it was convenient but, I could not find it in my heart to give you the third star. Didn't get drinks until 11:10 and still haven't seen our food at 11:24. So been seated for an hour and still haven't seen our food. We have only seen the waitress three times. Once to order and once when she brought the drinks and once after we were sitting here for an hour with biscuits. This service sucks bad. I love the chain but this location is a no go. Bad management and communication with the kitchen. I ordered a kids menu item to go before we finished eating and still waited 20 minutes after we were done. They called back several times to kitchen and manager and no one would answer them about my order. I asked to cancel the order and they couldn't do it without a manager so when he finally came out he said sorry for the wait and turned back around and left. I feel compelled to leave this review because we live in Central Texas, and are doomed to apathetic, sloppy, lazy, entitled wait staff wherever we choose to dine out. On a recent visit to family in Arkansas, we happened to stop at this Cracker Barrel. Before we even opened our menus our waitress took our drink order with a big welcoming smile. She was back in seconds with the drinks. She was close-by and ready to take our breakfast order. After we ordered she brought us fresh drinks. She was awesome, energetic and warm and welcoming. She kept our drinks fresh and brought us anything we asked for, promptly. Our breakfasts were delicious, too. A manager strolled by and checked that we were happy. Our check was $23, and we left her a cash tip of $10 because she was that fabulous. On our way out, my husband stopped in the restroom and said it was spotless. We think we will move from Central Texas to Bryant Ark just so we can have this delightful experience every time we eat out read more

I love Cracker Barrel. But this evening our meal was very unsensational. It was delivered w/a contracted company - and they were fine. Wen I got my meal however (Grilled chicken salad and veggie soup) I was very disappointed. The salad seemed lacking in contents - there were no eggs in it as the menu indicates. One bite of cheese, and small amount of lettuces. It didn't even fill up the container. Not much for $12. bucks - and the also didn't send any crackers, napkins or cutlery. The soup was mostly broth with an abysmal amount of veggies - probably about 4 tablespoons and since I got the bowl and not the cup I had a large amount of just broth. Very po'd. I can't drive any longer, am on oxygen all the time and among other things I have liver disease. We have ordered a LOT from Cracker Barrel. It was a big disappointment. I told the manager in a phone call that I could get a really big, nice, taco salad from Wendy's for $6. bucks! I was surprised to read all of the bad reviews for this particular Cracker Barrel. My guess is they might be under new management because our experience here was great. (The one in TN, not so much!) I had their Friday fish fry special with hash browns, green beans and cornbread. It was all sooo good! My husband had Momma's pancake breakfast and his dish looked like the Cracker Barrel pancakes we have come to love...big & fluffy with lots of butter! The bacon was cooked just right and so were his eggs. Our compliments to the chef! The waitress was not only delightful, but served us promptly with a smile with zero mistakes. I was trying to take my adult kids to breakfast, we were turned away because we did not have acceptable masks. I asked if they sold something in their gift shop that would be acceptable. I received a dumbfounded look and a "I don't know" from the employee. Being very annoyed, we left. As I was walking past the dining room on the outside of the restaurant. Stopped by for lunch while traveling and it was a total mess of an experience. The food was alright - nothing phenomenal, but not inedible either. Our server was so horrific that he seriously needs to find a new line of work. Cracker Barrel typically gives their servers stars for excellent service. This guy had one which got my wife wondering if it was a pity star. My son's order came out completely wrong (hamburger steak as opposed to bacon cheeseburger). Constantly being told, "oh I forgot your.. " time and again was one thing, but the big tip killer was when he was refilling my wife's tea and starting spilling it all over her hand and in my plate. He didn't say he was sorry much less even acknowledge it.
