This place is awesome. Helped with forming a good impression of Little Rock for my first visit. We went in after 12p, so pastries and muffins were 30% off. They were sizable and delicious. They were also giving away salads as it was Christmas Eve. The employee was kind and personable. I also saw some cards encouraging people to fill out an online form to inform the government of how much people were using the public wifi so that they could continue to provide it, which I thought was cool. Wife and I came into the Heights location for breakfast and coffee. We ordered 2 coffees and 2 sandwiches, 30 bucks after a 4 dollar tip. When I tell you how pathetic and dry my Parma Panini was, you wouldn't believe me, so I added pictures. This thing was tiny and nothing but bread! I was pretty hungry so I got the whole instead of the half panini. Scroll down and look at that thing. Does that look good to you? Maybe if there were sauce to dip it in?? She got the breakfast sandwich which fared a little better (it did contain some food) but it too was a thin sandwich. As I sit at this location of the Boulevard Bread Co. on a Saturday afternoon. I can only ask myself, "Why is it that I live so far away?" This eatery is my flavor. I've been hunting for such a place since I left Tucson, AZ, and I'm glad I've found this "Bake House." Anywho onto the review, I arrived and as I was new I had to peruse the menu, but before I could the young hip gent at the register asked, "How may I help you?" I mentioned the above, and asked him how good are their cappuccinos. Truthfully. He touted that he believed he made a fine one, and I'm here to tell you he did indeed. It was damn delicious. I stood again and looked over the menu... In a mood for breakfast? Do it! I asked for the Bialy; sadly they were out, but I went with la Breakfast Sandwich, and as it was my "Plan B" it did not fall short. It excited my taste buds with its blend of flavors from its Heart Healthy Bread to the drizzle of aioli. All in all this is a fine establishment. It has a young and refreshing vibe to it. I felt bad for the woman behind the counter cuz i had to stare at their 10 menu items for 800 years before my MOM ordered for me as if i werent almost 30 years old, but anyway, i got the half porchetta sandwich and it was DEEEEELICIOUS! First of all, i adore bread of all kinds (except rye or wheat) BREAAAAAD~~~ and this place has crunchy soft yummy bread encasing this perfect pork sandwich. I got it plain (with no greens or tomato) and it was stuffed full of tender perfectly cooked pork and their aioli (i hate mayo and it was a little too close to mayo for comfort but it didnt hurt anything). It came with chips. The only sad thing is they're only open until 3pm because i would totally come here again forever...well, if i lived here...and buy their bread until i died. They also have salad and breakfast options and coffee and stuff, but the sandwiches are to die for so start there! read more

Stopped in with my husband and our two small kids on a Saturday at noon. The place was slammed. I didn't realize until after we ordered that there were actually no seats available in the restaurant! Be warned: their capacity (according to the fire department plaque on the wall) is only 35 people. Thankfully (?), it took so long for them to make our food that we were able to claim a table once another party got up. The food tasted good, and it was a good amount for the money (details on what we ordered at the end of the review). However, the place just seemed dirty and cluttered. A staff member who had been working in the back came to the front of the restaurant to clear away some plates, and the front of her shirt was filthy. I understand food service can be messy, but what ever happened to wearing an apron? It seems like they could make better use of their space. For instance, one of their tables was RIGHT BESIDE the bathroom, and the place was so cramped that a family of four was sitting there, and their little girl's chair partly blocking the door. I felt sad that she had a clear view of the interior of the bathroom every time the door opened--while she was eating her lunch. If I had better assessed the situation when we walked in, we would not have stayed. Maybe I was blinded by hunger. In any case, we don't plan to ever go back, which makes me sad. We love supporting local businesses. We ordered: * Tuna Mediterraneo Panini, a Mediterranean-style tuna salad on baguette * Rustico Panini, a Balsamic chicken salad on baguette * Ham and Cheese Delhi Sandwich * Grilled Cheese Sandwich: NOTE--This is not your traditional, American cheese grilled sandwich. They use white cheeses (Swiss + one other we couldn't figure out). I didn't even know this location existed until my friend said she wanted to go here, having seen a colleague with "a fine looking sammich" from Boulevard on South Main, and she wanted one, too. I agreed to meet her here on her lunch break, even though I was fresh from a workout and a long run. I had stipulated a casual spot because of my appearance, and she chose deliciously. I have to say that I do not like the Heights location of this local "chain" because I find it somewhat cramped and stressful, but this location had a "it's cool, man" laid-back vibe that I enjoyed. We arrived around noon, and it wasn't crowded, but it was busy. At the counter, after my friend ordered, the waiter asked what I wanted, and I said, "I'm not sure yet..." thinking of the stress I feel at the main location when I'm not fast enough and people are impatiently waiting behind me. The waiter said, "No problem!" and rang up my friend, and made me feel at ease. I chose the 1/2 caprese sandwich, which comes with chips or fruit salad. I did get the chips (sour cream and onion), and I also selected my favorite juice drink EVER, the Naked brand's Mighty Mango, which I LOVE (I was pretty happy to see it here). We took a two-top table in the back to wait for our food. It might not have been the right choice: It was between the restrooms and right by the kitchen, the door of which is always open. I would sit somewhere else next time. But my "sammich" was delicious! I was glad I went for the half portion, as it was plenty. It had large slices of mozzarella, fresh tomato and generous, but not overpowering, pesto, with the basil. The French bread was perfect. I will remember this sandwich and seek it out again. My friend was equally pleased with her choice. I love that this neighborhood has all these great choices for dining, and I love how relaxed and delicious this location of Boulevard Bread is! I just had the most fantastic sandwich. I had the Parma (Prosciutto di Parma, extra-virgin olive oil, and provolone cheese on baguette) and I am sooooo upset that it's now all gone. Have you ever thought to yourself, I bet my jaws are so strong i could bite a brick in half! Well then this is your place! Try the turkey sandwich on a baguette, if your powerful jaws are able to bite through that bread you are incredible but if there is any of the fillings left in the sandwich after you bite through the bread it would be nothing short of a miracle. I had to bow my head and put my sandwich in the trash, I wanted a turkey sandwich but all i was able to get was a bite of leathery bread as the insides shot out the back of my sandwich :( read more

Lunch with family here today. We ordered a pitcher of mimosas that were made with fresh squeezed orange juice and were delicious. Each of us ordered something different....quiche, lox bagel, pancakes, pastrami sandwich, and all were very good. The service was friendly and fast, but not rushed. Its like rolling dice the last few months at the Main Street location. You may get beautifully presented, delicious food, or you may get a meal that looks like it was prepared with apathy and less than fresh ingredients. An end piece of a latex glove that had been severed during a hasty taping of the top of a wrapped sandwich, still perched atop like a garnish on one trip for a pick up order. A salad on two other trips yielded sad greens and toppings that scattered with no care to proportion or appearance. (I've seen better at a fast food establishment.) Two other friends who have eaten with me on various occasions at Boulevard have similar comments. The hospitality at the register needs a bit of work as well. Diners expect more. read more

I have to say that I used to love Blvd Bread co. but it has been a while since I have been there. This was my first experience at this location. I went in for a quick lunch to go. I waited about 4 minutes for anyone to even say hello, I'll be right with you. There was a nice girl that was getting other lunches prepped so I understand a delay. There was a guy changing the trash can on the bar area where people can actually sit and eat. Yes, I typed that correctly...the trash can was on top of the counter getting changed and on top of that it was not wiped down after. Whatever, I wasn't staying to eat. Went on to order when the nice girl came back. Got a bowl of the special today. The butternut squash soup with shrimp. I paid the $6 and change and got back to work to eat. It was dishwater with onion flavor at best and had a total of 1 shrimp. Not exaggerating. Do not get the soup or eat at their counters. Good luck. I won't be back. There are way too many good places to eat in this town. If I ever go to Blvd again it will definitely not be this location. I am actually really sad to say that. I support local places way before any chain place. I hope improvements are made for other patrons. read more
