I visited the original location in Scott, AR in March 2010. Sadly, the historic restaurant, which opened in 1917 burned down in 2017, which was the year of their 100th anniversary. So, my review was based on that location. I had heard about these hubcap burgers. I wanted a substantial lunch that day as I didn't want to bother with dinner. I was moving across the US from Arizona to Alabama; so Arkansas was on the way. Service was good. The burger was a massive size of a hubcap of a wheel. I believe it came with fries, which is standard. I pigged out on that whole massive burger. It was delicious, a real treat. But as if that weren't enough, I sprung for apple pie for dessert. It was pretty good, but probably would've been better if I wasn't already quite full. The real highlight was the hubcap burger.

The son and I were getting hungry and the large mural for this restaurant caught our eye. We said…read morelet's give it a shot! We walked in to a large employee meeting they were having at tables near the registers. This felt strange as only a couple people were actually working and there was a manager talking to the entire staff that this or that can get you fired. Finally someone who was actually working took our order as he darted back and forth from kitchen to register. It's obvious there is no employee lounge but there has to be a better way to conduct meetings and communicate within the staff. We were never given a number or anything so we waited at the registers for quite a while after ordering. We finally saw him bring food to another couple who had been waiting since we walked and figured out, oh we sit and they bring it out. It would not have been hard for the employee to let us know we could sit. There was nothing ultimate about the ultimate chicken sandwich. Didn't even come with tomato and they forgot the lettuce. It was dry and bland. I reached for a napkin and there were none to be found in the dispenser. (I just grabbed a dispenser from another table easy enough) My son's cheeseburger was fine according to him but we both agreed the fries were awful. Barely warm at the start of the meal and cold and stale by the end of it, the shoestring fries were as edible as an actual shoe. Nothing remarkable about the steamed broccoli no seasoning to be found but at least it was in fact, real steamed broccoli, even though it didn't come out until we were halfway through our dinner. 3/4 into the meal a manager named Jasmine came to ask how things were and pleaded for honesty. She was absolutely fantastic and provided top tier customer service as she listened to me and did everything she could to make it right, including treating my son and I to very tasty milkshakes. This woman deserves a raise, I could tell she was sincere and cares about customers and the food. The menu is so large and the prices are fair, I may come back to try it again, but ONLY because of the 5 star service I got from Jasmine.

The fries were thin and crispy. The sweet tea tasted good and tasted fresh, not stale. Best $5 meal that I have ever had! If I am in Little Rock again, I will enjoy another great meal at Beef-a-Roo!

For two steak sandwiches that is well past the appropriate amount of time. They gave us a piece of cake on the house which was appreciated. Then when it came to the food, again not impressed. The steak was stringy and way too fatty. The fries were generic frozen fries. Not worth the price or the time.

When we arrived it was late and instead of glaring at us for coming in near closing time, we were greeted with kindness. We asked what their favorite was and we ordered it. Had the Foul Mouth sandwich combo and cheddar biscuits with some chicken nuggets. The chicken was absolutely delicious with a spiced crust perfectly fried. The chicken was moist and when we added the sauces, we lost our mind. The biscuits are amazing too, but with the honey butter they were divine. If you are a food critic or just a casual diner the cook was perfect and the flavor on point. The staff were phenomenal and deserve praise too. Thank you Little Rock! Arkansas, we love your people!

I took my 96-year-old mom here for the first time on St Patrick's Day 2026. I wasn't sure what to…read moreexpect because I'd driven by the place numerous times and it always struck me as a fast food place (which I don't do), but the "& BEER" always made me pause since crappy fast food places only serve children's drinks. So for St Patrick's Day, I was looking for place with inexpensive food, inexpensive beer, and FREE parking. This Waldo's met all three requirements. We went there with no expectations and we were not disappointed!! My mom ordered the rotisserie chicken sandwich and ate the whole thing which she rarely ever does with any sandwich anymore so it must have been good! I ordered the small chicken nachos, thinking I'd get served a tiny plate of food, and the SMALL was so large, I ended up taking half home with me! This will be dinner as well as lunch, especially after I smoke some St Patrick's Day green. ;) The beer was decently priced too, because they basically have happy hour all day. The only drink that was full price was the draft cider, but I can forgive them for that since they say that all draft beers are half price and technically, cider isn't a beer. Waldo's has a choice of three types of service: drive through/pick up service which is perfect for people under 21 and tee-totalers; counter service where you can still order alcohol but you have to do all the work and pay as you go; and full service at the bar where someone else does the work for you for a tip like a regular restaurant. Best thing at the end of the meal was NO STICKER SHOCK!! I estimated $35 (pre-tax&tip), and the actual bill was $35.57 (with tax). I always think I'm lucky if I estimate within $2 of the actual bill, so I can't beat that!! I will definitely eat and drink here again, and I recommend it to everyone!

My granddaughter ordered a philly steak sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. I ordered a grilled turkey sandwich with sweet potato fries. The food was adequate, but cold. The portions were very small. Shrinkflation in the works. I swear my sandwich was two peices of bread, one half of a peice of turkey lunchmeat. There were 11 sweet potato fries. Yes, I am petty and counted. We had ice cream, the meal total was almost $60. I did not tip well, due to the small portions, cold food and unnecessarily noisy environment. I won't be back.
