Red Door had been on my list for a long time. I had tried on multiple occasions to make it here for brunch but kept missing it. So when I finally got the chance to stop by for an early dinner with a friend, I was excited. Unfortunately, the reality of the experience just didn't live up to the expectations. The two stars are strictly for the vibes--because eating outside under the stars on a warmed patio in the fall? That was beautiful. The atmosphere was exactly what I wanted: cozy, inviting, and perfect for a chill evening. Our server team was friendly, and everyone committed to us having a nice time there--including the cooks. But the food? Completely unseasoned. Everything was cooked well, but there was zero flavor. I mean, none. It felt like whoever made it had all the technique in the world but forgot to add even a pinch of salt. And because I met the cook, I'd venture to guess that's how Red Door told him to cook it. I'm pretty sure he seasons his food at home. For a place I had been waiting so long to try, the lack of flavor was a huge turnoff--especially since this spot ain't cheap. If you're coming for the ambiance, you'll have a great time. Just grab some appetizers and you'll be good to go. But if you're coming for flavorful food that makes you want to come back? We were really disappointed by our brunch experience at Red Door. We were seated and got our drinks quickly, but that is where the positive experience ends. This place is definitely overcharging for some of their breakfast items. The country breakfast is $17.95 for 2 eggs, potatoes, and 2 slices of toast. That is outrageous. Adding bacon cost an additional $3.50. The setting of this restaurant does not warrant such prices, nor does the quality of the food. My husband had to ask for two new sets of silverware because his was so dirty. He had to track someone down because our waiter did not return to our table after taking our order. I got the Denver omelet and my husband had the Old South skillet with over medium eggs. His eggs were way over hard, there was barely any gravy, and it was overall not good. We couldn't tell anyone about his eggs, because no one came around our table again. My omelet was fine, but I asked for regular butter for my toast and never received it. After we were done with our food and waited about 25 minutes with no service, I had to track our waiter down and give him my card so we could finally leave. They add a required 17% tip to the bill. Normally I am fine with this, but the service was so abysmal I was pretty unhappy. I would not recommend Red Door, and we will not be returning. read more

Will suggested the perfect meal, and capped it off with the literal best dessert I have ever had in a restaurant. The chicken fried pork tenderloin was crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside. We decided to try Red Door for our anniversary dinner. A Friday night at 7:15 and not many people there. I had filet she had the grouper. The fish was not very good. She barely managed half of it and she loves fish. I like grouper myself and had considered it. Tried hers and was not impressed. The steak however is why I leave this review. Maybe the third in my life. I've had filets all over the country and I grill or au poivre a mean steak myself. Mostly prime filets but sometimes strips or ribeyes if its just for me. The large filet at Red Door was 48 bucks so I thought maybe they had a clue. They didn't. The cook was okay, a little too close to medium but the seasoning not bad. Problem was IT WAS NOT A FILET. I questioned the first cut thinking wow this thing is tough. After trying to eat it (flavor wasn't bad) I ended up with 3 large areas of gristle. Before I first cut it I thought it was weird that it had a large notch in it. Imagine a clock face with the area from 3 to 6 cut out. That was where they had cut out a bad area in what I'm convinced was a piece of 1.5" thick sirloin cut into a circle. Wow. So 100 bucks later I left with my tail tucked. I'm sure it was probably some hired cook that tried this, certainly wasn't a chef. Won't be back. We went to a nice place and had dessert. read more

Oh my goodness! I'm a sucker for red door! Generally, if you go on a Saturday, be prepared for a very long wait. The restaurant isn't large, which I'm guessing is why there's a wait, but the food is definitely worth it. If you are impatient, I feel it is best if you go during the weekday to get the in-and-out experience you desire. I really like the chicken and waffles. The gravy and biscuits are to die for in my opinion! Hands down one of the best brunch spots in town. read more

My party had different things that were just ok. Nothing special. The biscuit and sausage gravy was delicious too. The bathrooms are not that clean which is a no-no on my book. Wait time given was 30-40 minutes at 1:45pm we asked and they said no table but at the same time seated tons of people in front of us. We asked to be seated and split up and she seemed annoyed. It was ok! We were seated quickly (within 10 minutes) even though the place was pretty busy. We sat out in the front patio which was really nice. The tables were spaced far enough apart for a good amount of conversational privacy. The food, however, took 40 minutes to come out. Good thing we had good mimosas and good conversation or we would have left. I would've gave it three stars due to that wait but the food was really good so I give it 4. I think I would try it again! We ordered for delivery and the order was completely wrong. This is the THIRD TIME this has happened to us. We should have learned our lesson. I called the manager and he agreed they messed up. I asked if they have someone that checks their orders and he said yes but then got really quiet. He then said I had to get my money back from doordash and he couldn't do anything. He said we should order straight from them next time. I said they didn't deliver directly and he agreed and I said then that doesn't work. He got really rude and HUNG UP on me. I've been wanting to try brunch here forever! It's a small space but the waitstaff turn the tables over very quickly. We arrived at 10:30 and only had a short 20 minute wait. Hubby got the croissant French toast and I had the French Country Skillet. The French toast was very good and unlike any I've previously tried. The French Country skillet had two beautifully poached eggs with a good amount of Hollandaise sauce. While everything was prepared extremely well, I thought the dish had way too much potato in it. After eyeing the omelette at the table next to us I think that will be my order next time. Be aware - brunch had a mandatory 17% tip for a party of two. We eat at Red Door often. We love their burgers, meat loaf, salmon and fried chIckes and Brussels sprouts. We were excited to go on the weekend and get the prime rib special. Entire meal was a major disappointment. First off the Caesar salad was downright weird. If we had read the menu we would have known it had kale and avocado and capers. We didn't and I may be ruined for Caesar salad for a while.. We love prime rib. However this was unusual. It had the texture of a ribeye not a prime rib. We were visiting from out of town and wanted to experience a local favorite. They were EXTREMELY busy and the food took some time to come out. Food was decent but not for the price. A tiny mimosa was $8.50 (should've been no more than $5) and a Bloody Mary was $8.95 which was nothing to call home for, and we thought was also extremely overpriced. We had the French toast and chicken and waffles and our bill came out to $80...keep in mind there was a mandatory 17% gratuity added (understandable considering people are notorious for not tipping on weekends) but the final bill was too much considering the quality of the food.
