Loved this place! Daughter and I decided to try a new to us spot for brunch. The portions were great, service was fantastic. Gentleman serving and taking orders was friendly, paid attention to service, and was quick to serve refills and our meals. The food was tasty, fresh, and we both loved our meals. It smells like a nursing home on the inside.. first thing that put me off a bit. I expected the aroma of breakfast or coffee, anything other than that. I've only eaten breakfast here twice. The first time I went, I dined in. The lady who took my order had the energy of a sloth. No one checked in with me the entire time I dined in. My omelette was super bland but the ingredients were fresh. The second time, I ordered ahead with GrubHub. It said my order would be ready at 8:55. I arrived at 9:05, and it was not. They didn't start making my order until I got there... which completely defeats the purpose of ordering and paying ahead. This time my omelette was SUPER salty. Thankfully GrubHub refunded me so I didn't waste $13 on food that was so salty, it was hardly ingestible (which may have been due to them just throwing my order together in a panic once I arrived, upon realizing they'd overlooked it). I think I'm good on trying again. I hate I didn't have the same experience as others - the place had great reviews for the most part. read more

I arrived about 8a, there were 4 other patrons eating together. Quaint place with beach kitsch for ambience. The food was decent, the wait was unbelievable. I ordered a coffee and breakfast burrito and red potatoes. The coffee took 15 minutes for the guy to pour a cup from the already-made coffee and bring it to me. Had to ask for water. Burrito, while good, shouldn't have come out 42m after order. They do a lot of pickup business and that seems to take priority over dine-in customers. Probably will not return unless in a pinch. read more

The food is excellent and the service is pleasant at the Malibu Cafe. The cafe doesn't look like much when you peek in from the sidewalk, but don't let that dissuade you. My lovely bride ordered the croissant with American cheese, scrambled eggs, and bacon, flattened in a panini press, and she inhaled it very quickly. I ordered the breakfast burrito, served with a perfectly spicy salsa. Best of all, freshly squeezed orange juice. Finally, this place is so good, we visited twice for breakfast. Don't let your eyes convince you to walk by the small store front, this place will surely satisfy your belly! Came to town for a quick work trip and stumbled upon this little gem! While it might look a little run down, the young man at the counter was very friendly and the food...NAILED IT! I asked for recommendations and the young man rattled off half the menu I went with the sausage breakfast burrito and hash browns. Yum! I wasn't expecting it to be this good, but it was fantastic. Cute and tasty. It's a simple place for your basic breakfast. I really enjoyed my french toast and scrambled eggs, both made perfectly. They have a lot of choices for food and drink, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. It did take a bit to get our food, and we weren't sure if we left the plates on the table or for a bin. This place is a dive with great home cooked food. You walk in, place your order and they bring it to you. You can assume they have staffing issues like many restaurants. Tables were not being cleared so we had to do it ourselves. My biggest complaint is that they didn't bring us our coffee until after our meal was served. read more

Just left this place. It was disgusting. There was one group of 4 in the restaurant. The guy at the front made a half-hearted gesture to clean a table for our group. In the process he knocked over a glass of orange juice, and knocked a tobacco sauce bottle onto the floor, leading to red sauce everywhere. He made no attempt to clean the floor. He seemed completely high. No attempt to accommodate or wait on us. Not sure how this place has good ratings. read more

Nice quiet feel to the place. Menu was hard to read. Coffee had cinnamon in it, which most may like but I didn't unfortunately. Toast order threw me off. It was just 1 piece of bread barely toasted, cut in half without butter. Most places have 2 pieces in my experience and butter is at least offered. read more

Worth the wait! We came in on a Monday around 11am and waited about 25 minutes for our food, but it was well worth it. This place is a hidden gem! In my opinion the decor could use an update, but the food was fresh and absolutely delicious. The presentation of the food is worth mentioning too. Great breakfast place in the heart of Downtown Little Rock. This is a small family run business with a great selection of breakfast favorites at a very good price point. I had the eggs, link sausage and hash browns with French Toast. Eggs we over medium a cooked to perfection. No runny whites but with a soft yoke. Hash browns had enough brown crispy bits with some softer shreds. The French toast was very good but I wish they mentioned the dusting of powdered sugar. I know for some people French toast requires a sprinkling of the white stuff but it's not for me. French toast was still good. Coffee was also good. When I arrived the place was quite with only three tables occupied. After I ordered two large parties arrived which backed up the staff a little but overall the service was good. I did have to go to the counter for a coffee refill. They apologized and brought me a full cup. Overall I would definitely recommend Malibu Cafe and may need to come back and try their lunch menu. read more

This place should have so many more reviews! I was in Little Rock for the week working and went here for lunch one day. The people were friendly and the food was fresh and prepared with care. They had healthy options (salmon salad was delish) and also heartier things like burgers and tacos. The only bummer was that I went back for dinner one night at 5:00 and they were already closed despite the Yelp hours showing open until 7. It's such a gem that I didn't take any stars off, just call to check hours! read more

All the off was obviously cooked to high, the French toast was burnt on the outside but still raw soaked inside, the potatos were so under cooked that in the inside it was just raw potato. Nothing was seasoned in any way. Bunch of teens with attitude were the customer service. Coming from out of town I hope this isn't the best they have to offer here. Very disappointed. read more

I've driven past this diner many times not even noticing it, and wanted to try it on a Saturday evening because of the 5 star comments. They serve their breakfast menu all day, so that also helped me search for their place. It was soooo worth it! I ordered an omelet (veggies, cheese and bacon) along with some hasbrowns. The omelet was perfectly cooked and folded just write, the perfect mix of ingredients. It came with some salsa, and when I started to set it aside, I noticed it looked freshly made. The salsa was wonderful, and I don't usually eat my omelets with salsa. The hasbrowns were properly cooked, but I think I'll ask for them crispy next time (my own preference). Friendly service, great food, great price. I recommend you seek this out, and I look forward to trying some of their others options. read more

They have the best omelettes in town! I ordered the Monetary Omelette that came with 4 strips of bacon, Monterey Jack cheese, and avocado slices on top. It was awesome! Light, fluffy, very tasty, and filling. The red potatoes that came with it were also VERY good. Cooked to perfection. This is a family run place that has been open since about February. Give them a shot! They deserve your business. Friendly and courteous staff. They have a small lunch buffet that looked good as well. But the food? Completely unseasoned. Everything was cooked well, but there was zero flavor. I mean, none. It felt like whoever made it had all the technique in the world but forgot to add even a pinch of salt. And because I met the cook, I'd venture to guess that's how Red Door told him to cook it. I'm pretty sure he seasons his food at home. For a place I had been waiting so long to try, the lack of flavor was a huge turnoff--especially since this spot ain't cheap. If you're coming for the ambiance, you'll have a great time. Just grab some appetizers and you'll be good to go. But if you're coming for flavorful food that makes you want to come back? Fresh made biscuit with the just right cooked egg and sausage made this delicious. Friendly front counter people and just good spirit.
