    Santa Fe Omelet with potatoes.

Loved this place! Daughter and I decided to try a new to us spot for brunch. The portions were great, service was fantastic. Gentleman serving and taking orders was friendly, paid attention to service, and was quick to serve refills and our meals. The food was tasty, fresh, and we both loved our meals. I got the Santa Fe Omelet and she got the Monterrey Omelet with bacon. I'll definitely be back!!

This place is lovely with excellent food choices and family owned and ran. The owner works hard making delicious home cooked food, checking to make sure it's good. The lobby is clean and the ambiance is nice for downtown Little Rock. Parking is around back.

It smells like a nursing home on the inside.. first thing that put me off a bit. I expected the aroma of breakfast or coffee, anything other than that. I've only eaten breakfast here twice. The first time I went, I dined in. The lady who took my order had the energy of a sloth. No one checked in with me the entire time I dined in. My omelette was super bland but the ingredients were fresh. The second time, I ordered ahead with GrubHub. It said my order would be ready at 8:55. I arrived at 9:05, and it was not. They didn't start making my order until I got there... which completely defeats the purpose of ordering and paying ahead. This time my omelette was SUPER salty. Thankfully GrubHub refunded me so I didn't waste $13 on food that was so salty, it was hardly ingestible (which may have been due to them just throwing my order together in a panic once I arrived, upon realizing they'd overlooked it). I think I'm good on trying again. I hate I didn't have the same experience as others - the place had great reviews for the most part.

Sausage Breakfast Burrito, Hash brown, coffee

Don't let your eyes convince you to walk by the small store front, this place will surely satisfy your belly! Came to town for a quick work trip and stumbled upon this little gem! While it might look a little run down, the young man at the counter was very friendly and the food...NAILED IT! I asked for recommendations and the young man rattled off half the menu I went with the sausage breakfast burrito and hash browns. Yum! I wasn't expecting it to be this good, but it was fantastic. Also, I take my coffee black. They serve it in a ceramic cup, in my opinion this is the best way to enjoy a cup of liquid gold, and it was delicious! Free re-fills! Left beyond satisfied and smiling ear to tummy

Great service and wonderful food. I had the breakfast burrito. It was scrumptious! The fresh squeezed orange juice was a treat.

Traveling through a Little Rock for work, my group decided to grab breakfast before flying out. We came in due to the raving reviews from a multitude of online sources and they did not disappoint. I ordered the Root Benny and the blueberry muffin based on the host's recommendation. First cut into my poached egg and I already knew it was the start of a culinary journey. Absolute flavor and texture perfection. The seasonal greens (steamed kale?) paired so well with the greens and the crostini was the perfect vehicle for yolk dipping. The blueberry muffin was small but delicious--exactly what you should expect from a muffin. I wish I would've remembered to order the cookies to go. I suppose I'll have to come back.

They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a menu that features a fresh and healthier take on classic southern food. I really enjoyed the spicy tofu bowl with grits and collared greens, their homemade cornbread, and strawberry shortcake for dessert! I also liked their arancini which was on the specials menu. Their classic lemonade was delicious, and the perfect complement to my meal. I'd highly recommend The Root Cafe for a memorable meal!

The restaurant is located on the edge of the River Market District. The entrance is actually below street level. Take the stairs down to the front patio/courtyard area to get to the main entrance. Despite being downtown, the restaurant has a neighborhood feel to it. My server Camila was excellent! She was great about making recommendations and answering my questions. I ordered the Flank Steak (medium) with mixed vegetables (squash, zucchini, red pepper, onions) and mashed potatoes. It came with chimichurri sauce which was so good. The steak was very tender and flavorful. The veggies were seasoned well and were prepared al dente which I prefer. It was so much food and I couldn't finish it all. I didn't have anything to drink besides water, but the drink menu featured specialty cocktails like the Caipirinha and the Caipiroska. They also offered other cocktails, wine, beer, and NA beverages. Our server was very sweet and took excellent care of us. Decor was pretty simple, but it's a casual place, so not a big deal, I care most about what I'm eating anyway. We finished with a quatro leches cake, which is like tres leches but drizzled with dulce de leche. It was outstanding. If you like meat, they don't mess around here.

One of our friends (and a Little Rock native) recommended Boulevard Bread Company, and we're so grateful that we stopped to check this cute spot out! There are a few Boulevard locations in Little Rock, and while this one wasn't the most convenient to the highway, it was still open for lunch as we were driving through the city around 2:30 PM. I placed our order online from the road, so when we pulled in, our sandwiches were ready and waiting! I'm glad we did order ahead, as they were still pretty busy when we arrived. We grabbed a table and enjoyed our lunch inside the cafe. We split a couple of their signature sandwiches, and our favorite of the two was the pastrami. The rye bread pairs quite nicely with the roast beef. We also shared the turkey sandwich, which was good but not as memorable as the pastrami. I can confidently say that we'd make Boulevard our new go-to road trip stop in Little Rock! From the freshly baked bread and tasty sandwiches to the friendly service, this is a solid spot for lunch.

Food was presented piecemeal, four times to table before order was complete, then one wrap bore no resemblance to the menu description - different cheese, different dressing, and other diner was pretty much through before the wrap made it to the table.
