Hush puppies that are neither greasy nor dense, which sounds simple until you realize how rarely anyone gets it right. There's a New Orleans soul to this place, and some Memphis too, but nothing precious about it. No one here is performing. Farmers, families, folks still in their work clothes. Instead of asking if something was wrong or if there was anything they could do to improve our experience, there seemed to be frustration directed toward us for simply wanting to relocate. What made the experience worse was the staff members were talking about the situation rather than addressing it professionally. At that point, we decided to leave without ordering. I've worked in customer service and understand that busy shifts and large parties can be stressful. However, guests should never feel like an inconvenience for wanting a comfortable place to dine. The difference between my first visit and this one was night and day. I hope management takes this as constructive feedback because the restaurant clearly has the potential to provide excellent service--I experienced it myself on my first visit.
