We had a blast with Chef Meg for the Fresh and Seasonal Italian cooking class. We laughed, we cried with laughter, and we cooked a delicious meal. This was our first cozymeal/cooking class and the bar has definitely been set high. If you are looking to learn how to make a delicious meal and have a good time doing it, Chef Meg has you covered. Cozymeal has a very simple userflow for picking your class, location, providing dietary information and direct contact with the Chef/class instructor. I will be using this service again with a larger group and recommend to anyone that might want to try a more intimate cooking class experience. read more

From private lessons at your own home for a bday or anniversary to setting up a cooking class at an art gallery or your place of business or renting out a cool AirBNB place to host an event....the talented expert chefs at Cozymeal will show up and make it a fun-filled and delicious gathering! I went with a group of friends to meet Chef Gwyn. Her motto was all about eating fresh food and staying away from processed food. We learned how to make a citrusy mixed greens salad with fresh glazed peaches, toasted pecans, and Gorgonzola cheese. The combination of these ingredients was absolutely palatable. The dressing was made from fresh orange juice, lemon zest, olive oil, honey and white pepper. Is your mouth watering yet? ;) Main course was fresh ravioli stuffed with goat cheese mixed with fresh garlic and herbs. We learned how to make it from scratch! It was fun and entertaining and Chef Gwyn taught us many tricks. Fresh pasta is easy to make! Why buy processed!? Dessert was a hot Chocolate Chipotle Lava Cake with a scoop vanilla and a fresh strawberry. Absolutely luscious and delicious! We had fun! It was a group of 8. We chatted, drank some wine, made new friends, cooked and learned how easily you can make a fresh, home cooked meal. Stay healthy friends! Stay away from processed foods. read more

Chef Gustavo was absolutely amazing! Such a charming spirit. He explained every little detail to us and provided great cooking tips to know in general. This might sound simple but THEY MADE A BURGER WITH NO MEAT ON IT! I have to say they accommodate everyone who enjoys a meal. Yes I could try to make my own vegan burger, but it won't taste as good as the way this company makes it!! They have been a great asset to good meal prepping and great meals! I recommend this company! read more

Even or not we made ravioli from scratch and so we put this what does like substance through this machine over and over and over and over and over and over again and finally made a very thin layer of what pasta that we been filled with some magical substance and then cut into ravioli squares. It was so nice and so sweet and everybody there was awesome on top of that they had wine and they had great conversation and they let all of us participate into each step of the process. Some of my friends learned many many new things about cooking and next week we plan on having our own cooking class based on what we learned! The people that were more than accommodating to our needs and our questions and are ones. Had a smile on their face and were more than willing to answer even the stupid questions that we had like how to cut mushroom the right way! Tasted like heaven the ravioli tasted like something my grandmother probably made and I was wondering how to make it but I never knew How until now. Be completely honest with you guys I am going back to this cooking class in two days and I am going to be so excited about that that I might Pee my pants. Just kidding. Hope I made you laugh and I hope this was helpful 552 thumbs up five stars and mashalla!!!! read more

Food:5++/5 Service: 5++/5 Ambience: 5++/5 Overall: Chef Gustavo! You are magnificent. This experience was so unique, special, and worthwhile. I always go to restaurants and eat great stuff but I never learn or truly appreciate the process and art of cooking or how different cultures influence taste! Chef Gustavo is so passionate, skilled, and experienced yet humble and approachable. I walked away with a new curiosity to learn about and appreciate the art of food. I 500% recommend taking a class with him. He's a very humble, passionate genius in the kitchen. I was worried I'd be intimidated by him but he's very kind and he is able to translate his expertise in a very thoughtful understandable way. We left with a lot of great new tips and tricks and 4 recipes to try at home. He even made extra arepas and told us our "homework" was to make our own. We made them for breakfast the next morning!Yum! The Experience: We walked into Chef Gustavo's beautifully decorated and immaculately clean kitchen. He was so warm and friendly and immediately got us water, chilled the wine we brought, and talked a little about what the experience entailed. We were joined by another couple as well. This was 3 hours of fun so I'll summarize. We all stood at our places in the kitchen as Chef Gustavo went over basic cooking skills including sanitizing, cross contamination, and knife skills. The next 2.5 hours were either us creating/assisting in creating dishes or us sitting at the table enjoying food that chef Gustavo talked through making and then prepared for us. He went over the different influences of each dish and how each country makes it differently. I really enjoyed this because as we prepared or watched him prepare stuff - I really understood the logic or reason for why we were adding certain ingredients. It was fascinating! He was very efficient and had everything prepared so time was not wasted. We ended going a little over the 3 hr time but that's because we were all enjoying talking, learning about each other, and we all had so many questions for Chef Gustavo. Food: Peruvian Ceviche, Empanadas, Arepas, quinoa croquettes. All were absolutely delicious and so so fresh! We were stuffed by the end and it really was worth every penny. I'd recommend bringing a glass of wine also. I will be bringing my family and friends to take a class with him. It was so awesome! read more

The experience with Chef Cherica and Joy was absolutely amazing. From the greeting when we arrived, to the food instruction and preparation, to the eating and socializing, STELLAR!!!!! Such an awesome teambuilding experience for my group. They are still talking about it! Thank you for the experience! read more

I had an excellent time attending one of Cozymeal's first D.C. events(they're started in SF)! In this class we had the chance to *intimately* be a part of the cooking process with a local DC chef, something missing from the dining experience. Most importantly the food... -nuts/fruit/cheese salad with a fresh vinegagrete -herb and cheese filled fresh ravioli -chipotle chocolate lava cake was delicious and the chef offered numerous tips to make me a better home cook that I could not have read in a cookbook. It's an experience I plan on doing a few times a year! read more

AMAZING father/son bonding time with my 13 year old son - Chef Natalie is AWESOME!!! I had doubts about signing up through a website - but cozymeal and Chef Natalie were great!! Chef Natalie explained things in an easy-to-execute and positive way which grew my sons excitement as a beginner. I will recommend to anyone that is looking for a great bonding experience, date night or to build on their culinary experience. Thank you - Doug W. read more

We had such a great time with Chef Gustavo! He did a great job providing us with background on the techniques and ingredients we used and explained everything he was doing and for what reasons, which made for a really great learning experience. I would highly recommend The Peruvian Gathering and would definitely book another Cozymeal experience with Gustavo in the future! read more

We had a great time doing this class -- we made a ton of sushi (enough for 3 more meals!) - and gained the confidence to try it on our own. The chef - Chef Chericia - was personable and a good instructor! read more

Cooking with Chef Judith was amazing! This was a perfect gift for my girlfriend, who loves trying out new dishes and experiences. We're trying to learn about more healthy ingredients and the vegan dishes that Chef Judith had us prepare were perfect. This experience beats going to any restaurant hands down, as you actually spend about three hours in the chef's home. It's way more personable this way. I'd compare it to an AirBnb style experience. Along with teaching us new techniques, Chef Judith shared quite a bit about her background and aspirations, so it was cool to be a part of that as well. I would highly recommend Chef Judith to anyone interested in trying this out. Cozymeal was super cool. read more

I signed my BFF up for the Meatless Italian Cuisine. Chef Judith (Ju Ju) was terrific! Three of us attended the class. She admitted that this was the first time she had 3 people attend the course at one time but we couldn't tell. She was very pleasant and personable. She explained all the steps to us and even showed us a few tricks and tips. The food was delish! We had to make doggie bags because it was plentiful. I would recommend and do it again. read more

We were a little nervous about showing up at a stranger's home for a cooking lesson, but Chef Ju was so welcoming and easy to talk with! It was clear that she loves to teach people how to cook. She had tons of enthusiasm and we learned a lot, including her secret ingredient for amazing lasagna sauce. (We have been sworn to secrecy; you'll have to take the class to find out.) My boyfriend doesn't like raw tomatoes, so she came up with an alternative for the appetizer that was super delicious. We left completely stuffed (and with a ton of leftovers for tomorrow)! Definitely an experience we'll be recommending to our friends... and we think we might just have to take Ju's butter class next! read more

We participated in Chef Meir's Veg. Indian Cooking Course. If you're looking for a cozy, hands on lesson, this is a wonderful way to spend your night! Chef Meir works alongside each member of your group, teaching you how to make a number of dishes. He guides you though technical skills and gives you tips and tricks for making the meal at home. The food was absolutely decadent. You will leave excited & confident to recreate at home. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this class to a friend. read more

I took a cooking class with Cozymeal in Washington DC. The class was thaught by Chef Tony and it was overall a great experience: super fun and very educational! Chef Tony owns a restaurant in Bethesda, MD that mainly serves Mediterranean seafood. We cooked several seafood dishes including lobster and shrimp paella, mussles with bacon and white wine sauce, pan-seared scallops, lobster rissoto and oven-baked bronzino. All the ingredients were provided to us and were very high-quality. Chef Tony was very attentive, answered all questions, and shared several cooking tips. After we finished cooking, we all sat down and enjoyed a nice meal that we had all contributed to. What a fantastic idea for a business! I definitely recommend Cozymeal whether you are interested in learning a new type of cuisine or you are looking for a fun and productive activity with a friend or a partner. I am certainly going to try more classes with Cozymeal. read more

This was my first time experiencing anything like this. I was looking for something unique and fun for my girlfriend and I to enjoy during Valentine's weekend. I scrolled through google for things to do for Valentine's Day and came across cozymeal. There were many options for what day, time and cuisine to experience. For our schedule, I came across Chef Ama and her Caribbean meal of curry chicken, cabbage, tossed salad and plantain flambé. We have been to carribbean restaurants before in Georgia, Virginia and Maryland but it Chef Ama has a way of bringing out the best in a dish. The experience was non stop interactions and an overall good time. Chef Ama coached us through how to prepare the dishes on the menu as well as techniques that will help us become better in the kitchen. Throughout preparing the dishes, the conversations seamlessly transitioned between food, hobbies, life journeys and travel experiences. It quickly became obvious within the first 5 minutes that this was no simple dining experience. Chef Ama created a fun and personable environment to where in the end, it was like we were family. I will not hesitate to not only refer people to use cozymeal but also make time to request Chef Ama and her culinary expertise!!! read more

Booked a private sushi making class in DC with Chef Chericia for my boyfriend's birthday. She changed the date on me multiple times in the weeks leading up to the event. Then the day of she cancelled--less than two hours before she was supposed to be here, leaving me no time to plan something else to celebrate. I'm disgusted and disappointed and will not be using this service again. I'd recommend avoiding Chef Chericia if you're looking for classes in DC. read more

It is a rare experience when you are in the presence of someone who has an undeniable passion for what they do, and Chef Gustavo, whom we met through Cozymeal, is someone who pours his heart and soul into what he does, and is made even more evident by the intimate space he provided. The food was exceptional, and we have dined at more than one Michelin-rated restaurant. We walked in not knowing what to expect, and it was clear the moment we arrived that we were in very good hands. His expertise from decades running his own restaurant was apparent in his ability to explain the steps in preparing the meal. Had we not wanted to participate, every ingredients purpose would have been explained as he added it to the dishes. We are already looking forward to our next booking with him. read more

We had a fantastic experience with our first Cozymeal cooking class! We were a group of 8 and cooked a delicious meal with Chef Chericia this weekend. The food that she brought over was fresh and beautiful, and she not only guided us through the recipe but also taught us some new skills for cutting and preparing the food. The atmosphere was fun and intimate, and the final result was extremely satisfying. I reallt love cooking with friends and it was such a relief to have an expert chef there to take all the stress, uncertainty, and disagreement out of the process. An educational and enlightening culinary experience. Would definitely recommend Cozymeal, and for sure plan to do it again. read more

I am intimidated by cooking. I'm afraid of being judged by people who know how to dice a tomato into perfect tiny cubes; I regularly eat lunch and dinner at my desk; I do not own a food processor. And yet! I loved Cozymeal's cooking class last night! I attended one of their free DC promo events, and it was a mouthwatering blast. Chef Tony got us involved in a judgment-free way and gave tips for whipping up impressive dishes with minimal prep time. Chef Tony is all about cooking with rich flavors, as if you have "passion for life." He guided us through branzino, mussels, scallops, Italian paella (with dry pasta--who knew!), seafood risotto, roasted bell pepper salad, and some other things I probably am forgetting because I'm still in a food coma. Because this class is in a quiet home, it's relaxing -- a perfect after-work event -- and a good bonding experience, too. I learned a lot, ate a lot, and didn't feel like a domestic troll. I'm actually going to make some of the dishes again tonight. Thanks Cozy! read more

My wife and I had such a great evening taking a private cooking class on Authentic Italian Comfort Food with Chef Malik! We would highly recommend him, and in fact, have already done so to our friends. He showed up on time and came prepared with everything we needed for our meal (and them some, you have to see it to believe it!). We requested a slight modification to the menu, which he graciously accommodated. We not only got to enjoy eating a delicious meal, but we had a fun time preparing it with him, and learned quite a bit in the process. Thanks Chef Malik! read more

The cooking class that I attended in DC was great! it was more like a dinner party with a chef making dinner for us. The event had a very friendly and relaxed environment, and we could participate in the cooking process as much as liked. I would recommend these cooking classes for a small dinner party or a date night with your significant other :) read more

It is rare for one thing to consistently get rated 5 stars. It is rarer for it to live up to it when you're there! My staff and I went here for our Holiday event, and every single one of us enjoyed it. There were people who loved to cook there as well as people that were pretty ambivalent (me). All of us enjoyed it. All of us learned something (e.g., the spider method on how to cut things) and all of us felt that the 3 hours flew by. 10/10 would do it again. read more

We did the Tour Through Italy class with Chef Judith. Booking the class was so easy, and Chef Judith followed up immediately with an introduction message through the CozyMeal website. She asked our dietary restrictions, and modified our menu to meet our needs. A few weeks before, due to unexpected travel, we had to change our date. CozyMeal was wonderful in assisting us in doing so, and made the change without any problems at all! The class was everything that we hoped it would be! Chef Judith welcomed up to our class warmly, and explained the process to us. She described proper cooking, especially cutting technique to us, and the reason behind it. She walked us through the menu that she had created and then modified specifically for us (to meet our allergy needs). The cooking experience was fun, but we also felt like we learned a lot too! Chatting with Chef Judith was another highlight of the experience. It was really cool to see how we could seemlessly prepare such an amazing FOUR course meal ourselves with her guidance and teaching. Sitting down to eat it all at the end was amazing. The food was delicious, and perfectly cooked! She was even prepared with to go containers so that we could bring home what we had left over (we had made so much). It really was an amazing time, and learning experience! One of our best date nights yet! We would definitely recommend it! Thanks Chef Judith!! read more
