The dressing was made from fresh orange juice, lemon zest, olive oil, honey and white pepper. Is your mouth watering yet? ;) Main course was fresh ravioli stuffed with goat cheese mixed with fresh garlic and herbs. We learned how to make it from scratch! It was fun and entertaining and Chef Gwyn taught us many tricks. Fresh pasta is easy to make! Why buy processed!? Dessert was a hot Chocolate Chipotle Lava Cake with a scoop vanilla and a fresh strawberry. Absolutely luscious and delicious! We had fun! It was a group of 8. I always go to restaurants and eat great stuff but I never learn or truly appreciate the process and art of cooking or how different cultures influence taste! Chef Gustavo is so passionate, skilled, and experienced yet humble and approachable. I walked away with a new curiosity to learn about and appreciate the art of food. I 500% recommend taking a class with him. He's a very humble, passionate genius in the kitchen. I was worried I'd be intimidated by him but he's very kind and he is able to translate his expertise in a very thoughtful understandable way. We left with a lot of great new tips and tricks and 4 recipes to try at home. He even made extra arepas and told us our "homework" was to make our own. We made them for breakfast the next morning!Yum! The Experience: We walked into Chef Gustavo's beautifully decorated and immaculately clean kitchen. He was so warm and friendly and immediately got us water, chilled the wine we brought, and talked a little about what the experience entailed. We were joined by another couple as well. This was 3 hours of fun so I'll summarize. We all stood at our places in the kitchen as Chef Gustavo went over basic cooking skills including sanitizing, cross contamination, and knife skills. The next 2.5 hours were either us creating/assisting in creating dishes or us sitting at the table enjoying food that chef Gustavo talked through making and then prepared for us. He went over the different influences of each dish and how each country makes it differently. I really enjoyed this because as we prepared or watched him prepare stuff - I really understood the logic or reason for why we were adding certain ingredients. It was fascinating! He was very efficient and had everything prepared so time was not wasted. We ended going a little over the 3 hr time but that's because we were all enjoying talking, learning about each other, and we all had so many questions for Chef Gustavo. Food: Peruvian Ceviche, Empanadas, Arepas, quinoa croquettes. All were absolutely delicious and so so fresh! We were stuffed by the end and it really was worth every penny. I'd recommend bringing a glass of wine also. I will be bringing my family and friends to take a class with him. It was so awesome! read more

Some of my friends learned many many new things about cooking and next week we plan on having our own cooking class based on what we learned! Had a smile on their face and were more than willing to answer even the stupid questions that we had like how to cut mushroom the right way! Tasted like heaven the ravioli tasted like something my grandmother probably made and I was wondering how to make it but I never knew How until now. Cooking with Chef Judith was amazing! This was a perfect gift for my girlfriend, who loves trying out new dishes and experiences. We're trying to learn about more healthy ingredients and the vegan dishes that Chef Judith had us prepare were perfect. This experience beats going to any restaurant hands down, as you actually spend about three hours in the chef's home. It's way more personable this way. I'd compare it to an AirBnb style experience. She admitted that this was the first time she had 3 people attend the course at one time but we couldn't tell. She was very pleasant and personable. We were a little nervous about showing up at a stranger's home for a cooking lesson, but Chef Ju was so welcoming and easy to talk with! It was clear that she loves to teach people how to cook. She had tons of enthusiasm and we learned a lot, including her secret ingredient for amazing lasagna sauce. (We have been sworn to secrecy; you'll have to take the class to find out.) This was my first time experiencing anything like this. I was looking for something unique and fun for my girlfriend and I to enjoy during Valentine's weekend. I scrolled through google for things to do for Valentine's Day and came across cozymeal. There were many options for what day, time and cuisine to experience. For our schedule, I came across Chef Ama and her Caribbean meal of curry chicken, cabbage, tossed salad and plantain flambé. We have been to carribbean restaurants before in Georgia, Virginia and Maryland but it Chef Ama has a way of bringing out the best in a dish. The experience was non stop interactions and an overall good time. Chef Ama coached us through how to prepare the dishes on the menu as well as techniques that will help us become better in the kitchen. Throughout preparing the dishes, the conversations seamlessly transitioned between food, hobbies, life journeys and travel experiences. It quickly became obvious within the first 5 minutes that this was no simple dining experience. Chef Ama created a fun and personable environment to where in the end, it was like we were family. I took a cooking class with Cozymeal in Washington DC. The class was thaught by Chef Tony and it was overall a great experience: super fun and very educational! Chef Tony owns a restaurant in Bethesda, MD that mainly serves Mediterranean seafood. We cooked several seafood dishes including lobster and shrimp paella, mussles with bacon and white wine sauce, pan-seared scallops, lobster rissoto and oven-baked bronzino. All the ingredients were provided to us and were very high-quality. Chef Tony was very attentive, answered all questions, and shared several cooking tips. After we finished cooking, we all sat down and enjoyed a nice meal that we had all contributed to. What a fantastic idea for a business! I definitely recommend Cozymeal whether you are interested in learning a new type of cuisine or you are looking for a fun and productive activity with a friend or a partner. I am intimidated by cooking. I'm afraid of being judged by people who know how to dice a tomato into perfect tiny cubes; I regularly eat lunch and dinner at my desk; I do not own a food processor. And yet! I loved Cozymeal's cooking class last night! I attended one of their free DC promo events, and it was a mouthwatering blast. Chef Tony got us involved in a judgment-free way and gave tips for whipping up impressive dishes with minimal prep time. Chef Tony is all about cooking with rich flavors, as if you have "passion for life." He guided us through branzino, mussels, scallops, Italian paella (with dry pasta--who knew!), seafood risotto, roasted bell pepper salad, and some other things I probably am forgetting because I'm still in a food coma. Because this class is in a quiet home, it's relaxing -- a perfect after-work event -- and a good bonding experience, too. I learned a lot, ate a lot, and didn't feel like a domestic troll. We did the Tour Through Italy class with Chef Judith. Booking the class was so easy, and Chef Judith followed up immediately with an introduction message through the CozyMeal website. She asked our dietary restrictions, and modified our menu to meet our needs. A few weeks before, due to unexpected travel, we had to change our date. CozyMeal was wonderful in assisting us in doing so, and made the change without any problems at all! The class was everything that we hoped it would be! Chef Judith welcomed up to our class warmly, and explained the process to us. She described proper cooking, especially cutting technique to us, and the reason behind it. She walked us through the menu that she had created and then modified specifically for us (to meet our allergy needs). The cooking experience was fun, but we also felt like we learned a lot too! Chatting with Chef Judith was another highlight of the experience. It was really cool to see how we could seemlessly prepare such an amazing FOUR course meal ourselves with her guidance and teaching. Sitting down to eat it all at the end was amazing. The food was delicious, and perfectly cooked!
