A good friend of mine hosted a brunch on Saturday afternoon. I was absolutely blown away with the quality, speed and professionalism of Serge and his staff. I felt like I was at a black tie event at the White House the service was that good, I'm not even exaggerating. I wish I could post pics of the food, but I forgot. The brunch consisted of made to order omelettes, French toast that was out of this world, fresh bacon and sausage, these amazing has browns that were absolutely divine and the presentation was killer! They also served GUACAMOLE DEVILED EGGS that were just pure absolutely delicious! There was an amazing watermelon salad, shrimp salad, and a few other amazing dishes! Just when I didn't think things could get any better, out came trays of some of the most tender and well marinated steaks you could imagine. I'm a garlic lover, and they were drenched in delicious garlic and herbs! That's about all I got for the review. Please believe me when I tell you that I've traveled the world in the gourmet food business and I know when something is very special such as Pure Kitchen (PK). I was looking for a caterer for my organization's Board of Directors meeting. I used Thumbtack to get some quotes and came across Chef Serge. He was the first one to reply to the RFP. He was very easy to work with--he shared his thoughts for a menu: Appetizers -Red wine poached pear blue cheese salad -caprese basil salad Entrees -chicken Milanese -red onion jam salmon Sides - french ratatouille - grilled sweet potatoes and cranberries Dessert -assorted of cookies, cupcakes and fruits Everything sounded so yummy but I wanted one of the salads to be vegan. Chef Serge told me that he can swap the caprese salad with green beans cherry tomato and grapefruit salad (I wanted the red wine poached pear blue cheese salad!). I approved that change however, there was some confusion. I later asked if rice comes with the entree and he said that it's extra and asked if I wanted it, I said to keep the menu as is without rice but he thought that I meant to keep his original menu. When he came with the food, it was too late to get the vegan salad. I should have ask for a confirmed menu. Chef Serge and his assistant came on time to setup and offered to stay for the entire lunch but we just want buffet style and members serve themselves. My favorites were the red wine poached pear blue cheese salad and the red onion jam salmon. It was the first time that I've ordered salmon from a caterer where they've kept the skin on. I love the skin on my salmon but caterers don't keep it on. The ratatouille was tasty but some people didn't know quite what to make of it. One of my colleagues said that it has some Caribbean spices--I mentioned it to Chef and he said that he's from Guadeloupe, go figure. The desserts were okay, some mistook it for Entenmann's. He told me that he works with local bakery for desserts. Personally, I don't care too much about the desserts, my main focus is the food. I recommend Chef Serge but I think he's best for private parties. I've referred him to someone who was looking for a caterer for a holiday party. He was very flexible, positive and reliable. My family tried this at Lone Oak Brewery. Overall it was very good. The sweet potato fries were fantastic. The plantains were very good. The BBQ pulled pork special was very good. I tried their burger which was disappointing. The burger itself was very badly overcooked which was the single disappointment. Honestly, it seems the burger had been sitting there for a while or they cook them ahead of time. It was not a freshly cooked burger. I don't want to focus on the burger because so much else was very good. I would give them another try. read more

I used Chef Surge for a New Years Eve tasting. I reached out on Yelp and he was very responsive, asked questions and was very professional. I explained what I was looking for and he provided some options and let me swap things out. I was grateful for this because I literally wanted 100 things and he helped me to zero in on some options. On delivery day, he was on time and polite. But the best part was the food. The packaging was great and the food was still warm. And it was delicious! I'm a very picky person but I ate everything and had an amazing nap afterwards. The flavors were on point, presentation was great and everything came together great. I hosted a small gathering of ten people in my home, and wanted to spend my time entertaining and not shuttling snacks and drinks around. My husband and I hired Chef Serge, and we could not have been happier. Chef Serge is personable, positive, and dependable. He arrived on time, communicated with us regularly in advance of the party. He even surprised us by bringing a colleague with bartending skills! He produced a number of small plates, appetizers, and desserts, and even did a demo of crepes. Chef Serge came to my home and prepared a delicious meal for me and my partner to celebrate my birthday. He was AMAZING! He was professional, polite, took appropriate safety precautions, wore a mask the entire time and made us feel like the only people in the world. He shared his amazing story and then delivered one dish after another that blew our minds. He is masterful at creating tasty dishes. His presentation was impeccable and the food tasted amazing. To top it off, he cleaned up everything before he left. There wasn't a dirty dish, spoon or fork in sight. Sheer joy best describes the dinner Chef Serge Pambo prepared for us December 26th, 2016. His presence in my kitchen may have been serendipitous and last minute, but the results were scrumptiousness and the memories of the meal and the positive energy he brought along with the ingredients will last for years to come. If you don't have the time or patience to read my whole review, read this: HIRE CHEF SERGE! Now here's the long form: Our family of three children and one finance' are rarely in the same city at the same time. The day after Christmas (and third night of Hanukkah) was one of those times. I had made a reservation at a wonderful steak house, which I remembered had small private rooms available. I was somewhat surprised that there was a charge for renting these rooms for a party of fewer than eight people. That got me thinking that as much as the room would be private, there would still be waiters interrupting our conversation and the evening would be limited to the time we were eating. That led me to Google the concept of bringing in a private chef, even though the dinner was less than a week away. Immodestly, I must say that I am a gourmet cook, who has been asked countless times to cater or create a recipe book. I've never allowed anyone to cook a meal in my kitchen. I knew, however, that if was preparing food, I could not be equally part of this precious family time, so I was willing to give up the keys to my kitchen to someone else, but that someone else needed to be special. Enter Chef Serge, who was one of two who replied to my on-line request through Thumbtack. Doing my do diligence, I researched the chef's credentials and was pleasantly surprised to learn that he had appeared on Food Network cooking shows like Chopped, Cutthroat Kitchen and Beat Bobby Flay and had won many awards. Bad news, though, he was based in Washington D.C. and I assumed that hiring him would also mean paying for his transportation, which I was not willing to do. I did, in fact have to pay for his transportation, but it was $25 since he was already going to be in Atlanta for Christmas, celebrating with his wife's family and was also trying to establish a base in Atlanta To make this long story, just a little less long, bottom line is that Chef Serge and I communicated quite a bit over the next couple of days, mostly on the phone. I told him what I was looking for, sent him information about each family member and their food likes/dislikes and requested that the food be as healthy as possible. Within hours, he sent me an initial great menu. We had to tweak a few things so that everyone would love everything (which is not easy to do, in my family). He was both flexible and creative and the menu sounded perfect and included dishes I do not prepare. By the time Chef Serge showed up at our front door, along with a helper from his family (no extra charge), we were on a hugging basis. He introduced himself and his Atlanta resident brother-in-law, explained the menu and answered questions. When the left the kitchen for the evening, it felt like we had family cooking for us. The rest of the evening, which went on for 4 hours, we were treated to dish after delectable dish, one better than the other. We had two hors de oeuvres before going to the table, a salad course, two main courses (beef and fish) and dessert It was one of the best family times we have ever shared. Even after a well-earned large tip, the evening cost about the same as it would have at the restaurant, but we got so much more. It's unanimous that we all want to make this a family tradition. One last note: when Chef Serge asked why I do not cater, I told him that I was afraid that if cooking became a business, it would no longer be a pleasure. My family and I hired Chef Serge to prepare a family dinner to celebrate some birthdays and anniversaries. He created menu options from which we chose and was so flexible with our requests. The meal was perfect - after a course of skelwers with tomato and cheese with a spicy sauce, we had a delicious salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries, mozzarella, basil, etc with mustard dressing. For the entree, he served the most amazing quinoa risotto on a bed of kale with veggies (in some secret sauce that was to die for) and a perfect filet of salmon on top. The meal was probably the best thing that ever has and ever will be served in my house! Also a perk? Not having to clean up after the meal - he does it all! Worth mentioning also is how very genuine, charming, and engaging Chef Serge is. At some point, each of us wandered into the kitchen and chatted with him. He was gracious and didn't seem to mind. I hired Serge for a small dinner party (7 adults and 2 kids) in my home, as I wanted to focus on time with my guests instead of worrying about the food. We were so pleased with the food!! We decided on the menu beforehand--salmon, hanger steak, roasted vegetables, smashed potatoes, and crepes for dessert. Everything was delicious!! Chef Serge did a great job preparing hot hors d'oeuvres and mini dessert for 30 guests at our holiday open house last weekend. He arrived in advance with two women to help serve his creations and left our kitchen cleaner than when they arrived. He was respectful of our budget, quick to answer email, and made the whole experience of working together an easy, enjoyable experience. Among the list of appetizers served: Chef Serge's chicken samosas (with african inspired? filling) shrimp scorpions (spicy sauce to die for)! and bread pudding were the big hits of the night.
