The only reason why I'm rating this 5 stars is to get others attention. This company pays YELP to hide the negative reviews. PLEASE READ THE 88 NEGATIVE REVIEWS ON THIS BUSINESS. The owner is down right rude. The manicure and pedicure I had was HORRIBLE! Then when asked if I wanted to tip, he acted like my tip wasn't good enough. My gel manicure lasted 3 days when it's supposed to last 2 weeks. I had nail polish under my nails. I had nail polish over my cuticles. My nails were not even shaped correctly. When painting my nails, the nail tech wiped away her mistakes with her hands and not the proper way. My service was sloppy. Don't go here. Find another nail service in Ridgewood that would love your patronage and business. This place couldn't care less. read more

This place is terrible! I went to get the gel manicure and the person that did it did not know what she was doing. The nails of my fingers burned because it was kept under the lights for the gel for a long time. On top of that, the price does not match the quality. I can get better quality gel manicures at a cheaper price, were the technician will not burn my nails. In addition, the nail salon is not clean. I saw a lot of ants on the floor. read more

I don't know about the other technicians, but the technician I had was horrible. What bothers me the most is the constant texting while fixing my nails. Using the phone while working is very unprofessional. If I did that in my job, I would be fired instantly. The standard time it takes to do a manicure is 20-30 minutes. This woman took at least 45 minutes because she was texting. She would stop in the middle of fixing my nails to text. The nails themselves came out OK, but that is about it. read more

I went here this Saturday before my wedding to get my nails done and to my surprise, it was sloppy. Nail polish was not cleaned around my nails. I always get quality service here- the pedis are great, manis are great- but honestly I am most blown away by the owner, Jay. I have been coming to this salon on and off (since I live in VA now) but he ALWAYS remembers me. He always tells me to say hi to my sister and mom, and he'll go out to put quarters in the meter if your appointment is running long. Highly recommend this place! Jay's the best. read more

Three of us had appointments for pedicures and the technicians were ready for us when we arrived. Good polish selection, sanitized utensils. While the staff was very friendly, all three of us noted how short the pedicures were. The massages were good but very, very short. Biggest downfall of the trip was that once I left I noticed my toes were all lighter than the big toes as if they didn't get a second coat (I didn't notice because I was catching up on my magazines). I purchased the color because I liked it so much and Il'l be applying another coat on my smaller toes myself. All in all it was ok, likely won't return. Waste of money. Only came here because it was too long of a wait at Daisy Nails... Pedicure was OK.. Gel manicure was terrible. Looks like a 5 year old did my nails. Lesson learned that I should have just been patient and waited for one of the girls in Daisy Nails to take me. read more

While I enjoyed the leg massage, they paid very little attention to my feet! Every time I put my feet in the water, he kept taking them out, so my feet were only in for probably a total of 5 minutes. They did not work on my calluses, even though I requested that service, and the "paraffin treatment" consisted of about a tablespoon of paraffin in a little bit of Saranwrap tied around my heel! Very strange. She did not spend any time at all on my cuticles, and hastily and lightly applied the polish. Not going here again. They rushed when giving me a pedicure. The technician cut my toe nails so short that it hurts. I was dissappointed with how careless the technicians were. I also got a gel manicure and my nails were under the lamp for a long amount of time(more than they were suppose to be) and they ended up hurting. Not going back at all... This is my go to nail place. They have a great variety of nail polishes that I haven't seen anywhere else. They never make you wait and the quality of the manicure is far better too. While drying the ladies keep checking to see if it's fully dry and once it is they put on a drying oil. The owner is also a very nice man that knows all his customers by their first name. After a manicure they even give you a massage! Definitely recommend. read more

I have been to this nail salon three times in the past year, all three times getting gels. They are amazing. The gels last weeks - only needing to be redone because your nails grew out. If you did manage to chip them or bang them up, they always tell me they would fix them for free, but I've never had to take them up on their offer. I am very unhappy with the services here. This place use to be fantastic, but now the quality of the nail polish has gone down. The nail polish is of poor quality and how it is applied. Last time I went, my nail polish only lasted 2 days before it started chipping. I asked the woman if she can put another top coat so that it lasts and she said it did not need another coat. The technician was very rude to me. I explained to her nicely that I wanted another coat so that my nail polish could last more days. Just rude...very rude. Even though she was rude, I decided to give her a small tip because I am a nice person. When I gave her a $2 tip (taking into account I was not happy) she gave me this look of hate. read more

I moved to Ridgewood from NYC and needed a nail salon to frequent. After trying a few places in Ridgewood, I tried Cozy Nails and was instantly in love! And since then, this is my go-to nail place! The owner and the team are so genuinely friendly and really care. They want to cater to your requests as best as they can so you're happy. Their wonderful services plus their personalities really brighten up your pampering session. I just got married recently and they took extra attention and care to make sure my nails and toes looked pretty and perfect. Hands down...this is the place to go! read more

This is probably the BEST nail salon I have been to in the entire NY/NJ area. The owner is a doll and does remember you by name. They have a huge selection of colors and if you don't see your color, he will order it for you. The place is also very, very clean. They put a new liner in the pedicure sinks for each customer. I have never seen that before which is a huge selling point for me. :) They also have a good selection of magazines. The only thing they don't do is offer refreshments which would be a nice touch. read more

Not so cozy for me! I was in Ridgewood and chose Cozy Nails based on its good reviews. I was the only customer there at 4:00 on a Wednesday (I had called the day before to make an appointment). When my manicurist found out I had a 5:00 dinner reservation, she said "You're not going to stay here to dry until 5 o'clock. Are you?" My nails were done at 4:35. After 10 minutes she came over and touched them and said "They must be dry." She put oil on them. I don't usually like oil on my nails but anyway... I continued to sit and 3 minutes later she came over again and said again that they are dry. I asked at that point if she was waiting to close up or leave when I left, which I would have understood. She said that she wasn't. It was 4:50 and they are opened until 7:00. With so many nail salons in Ridgewood, I know I won't be returning to Cozy Nails again. read more

Very nice salon. Not as nice inside as some others in the area but everything was very clean. Got regular Mani Pedi took almost an hour and they gave me the manicure while I was getting the pedicure to speed things up. Man doing my pedicure was very friendly and really took his time making it nice. Needless to say do not come here if you are in a rush. only 3 people working. I got a gel manicure here today in the middle of the day. I was the only customer so there was no wait. Jay, the owner, was extremely hospitable and so was Sue, the woman who did my nails. They didn't have a color that I wanted and Jay called to reorder it for me. He also gave me three massages while I was there. Sue really took her time with my nails - she spent around an hour doing them. She was also friendly but she didn't make too much conversation, which is something I appreciate at a nail salon. Overall, the facility is clean, my nails look great, and the employees really care about your experience. I highly recommend Cozy Nails and I will definitely come back! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I don't know yet how long my manicure will last. read more

Really disappointed by my visit. Saw great reviews for this salon and was looking forward to a great manicure with wonderful staff. There is a new salon a few doors down that was offering 30% off but I passed up the deal because the reviews were so good here. When I walked in, there were 2 technicians and one other customer. The available technician was sleeping and looked startled and annoyed that I walked in. Once I sat down, she started humming and singing as she worked. Not a deal breaker, but also not how I would like to spend my Saturday morning. I typically have a lot of cuticles, and there is always a lot to take off. When she did my cuticles, she barely got anything off. I asked her to go over it and pointed exactly where I meant. She went over, but still didn't get all of it. On to the polish. She rushed through the base coat so badly that when I looked at my nails I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Not only were there tons of spots without polish, it was super streaky and inconsistent. It looked terrible. Then she started rushing through the paint job. After the second coat, I noticed that one of the nails was completely lacking polish on the left side. In addition, the cuticle on that side looked terrible. I asked her to fixed it and she agreed in an annoyed tone. When she "fixed it" and asked me if it was okay, I kid you not it looked like a child painted my nail. The polish on the nail was bumpy and gross, and there was polish all over my skin. I nearly laughed and said "I appreciate your hard work, but do you really think this is okay? I don't think you would want me to show this to someone and tell them it came from your salon". With that she grunted and wiped all of the polish of to start fresh. Upon completion, it is a very sub par manicure but I didn't have it in me to ask her to fix other parts. When I thanked her at the end, she didn't acknowledge me and quickly walked to the bathroom. Based on the reviews of this place, I am so confused why I had this experience. Maybe I caught her on a bad day. Nonetheless, she wasn't kind and she also really didn't do a good job. I never make a big deal when I get my nails done, and rarely ask the technician to fix anything, but this was simply unacceptable. I will not be back, and I regret not trying the new salon on the same block. read more

There are many places to get your nails done, but Cozy is my go-to salon. Jay, the owner, never forgets a face, no matter how infrequently you come in. Nothing fancy, but it's clean, and the staff is friendly. Unlike some reviews, I've never had a bad experience with my mani-pedis, and I haven't even tried the gels yet. Sure, it's a tad pricey, but welcome to Ridgewood... If you go during the day, there isn't a wait, but afternoons and weekends can get busy. My only complaint is there is NEVER parking because it's tucked into a side street with a lot of other restaurants and shops in the downtown area, but that's hardly Cozy's fault. Despite that, I always find myself here, and with hours on Sunday, what more could you ask for! read more

I have been to this nail salon a few times for pedicures and the owner/technicians were always pleasant. Unfortunately, that was not true on my most recent visit. I hate writing bad reviews, but the experience left such a bad taste. First off, the technician rushed my pedicure and left out the paraffin wax treatment. I was willing to let that go as they were busy and seemed understaffed today. But, when I go to pay, the owner gave me the wrong change so I politely pointed it out. Even though I was courteous, he responded by being accusatory and denying it. He says there is a security camera and he can check. I again was very polite and said that's fine as I wanted to resolve the issue. After waiting patiently for several minutes, he started making a big fuss and said it's taking too long and for me to just "go" because he is busy. By then I am peeved because the other customers are all staring as if I am trying to pull a quick one over the owner... I offer to wait until the security camera video loads because I didn't like being brushed off and it's the principle of it but again he dismisses me. I used to come to this salon on a regular basis, as I enjoyed the pedicures and found the staff to be very friendly. However, I had an experience here which turned me off forever, and I will never go back. I had a half day of work, a Thursday, and went in for a pedicure. There was one other customer in the store having her nails done. I asked for a pedicure, and since there were 4 other people working (with 1 customer) I was seated right away. Except I got a new girl who had no idea how to give a pedicure. The massage was awful, the pedicure was terrible, I was there for an hour and a half, and when I was done it looked like my 4 year old niece had done my toes. I can do a MUCH better pedicure myself. However, the worst part was that the other 4 workers were sitting there on their ipads, iphones, etc, and despite my obvious displeasure did nothing to help this new girl who was clearly awful at giving pedicures. I was going away for the weekend, and ended up having to go home and redo them myself after just paying $25. I will never go back. Note to employees, if you are working, you should not be sitting there on your ipad or iphone. It looks TOTALLY unprofessional. That includes the owner and his wife. If I did that at my job, I would be fired. This salon lost a regular customer due to terrible customer service. I would never go back or recommend them to anyone ever. read more
